Agave Dream™ (www. agavedream. com), the only super premium line of frozen desserts made without added sugar, proudly announces its presence at the 34th Winter Fancy Food Show at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, from January 18 to January 20. Convention attendees may sample these ice creams and granitas at the New Brands for the Shelf pavilion, where they may also receive detailed product information and other background materials. Consumers can purchase these items at specialty retailers throughout Southern California.

"The Winter Fancy Food Show is an excellent venue for us to fully introduce our ice creams and granitas to people who appreciate our innovative approach to popular flavors like vanilla, chocolate, lavender, cinnamon, chocolate chip, cappuccino and strawberry. This form of guilt-free indulgence -- our granitas contain rich antioxidants and no stabilizers or preservatives -- is a welcome respite from the proverbial junk food that individuals battle to avoid," said Stacey Ralphs, Cofounder of Agave Dream™. "Attendees who sample our products will enjoy our emphasis on healthy nutrition -- we only use non-GMO ingredients -- in addition to our commitment to helping consumers of all ages who must watch their carbohydrate-from-sugar intake. Retailers will also have an opportunity to meet with us and learn more about our company and distinct position in the marketplace."

Good Health and Delicious Taste: The Power of Agave Nectar
Agave Dream™ develops healthy treats for children, diabetics and people with sugar sensitivities by embracing the benefits of agave nectar. This active ingredient, which is similar to honey, is naturally sweet and does not contain processing chemicals. "The delicious taste of our granitas and ice creams is unmistakable, thanks to our use of agave nectar. This sweetener is both kosher and certified organic, and has fewer carbohydrates than table sugar. After we pasteurize the milk for our ice creams, we add agave nectar and thus protect the powerful enzymes at the heart of this special ingredient. Agave nectar also happens to be a staple in many cultures, and complements our philosophy about maintaining a safe and rewarding lifestyle," stated Jean Zwarg, Cofounder of Agave Dream™.

BEST 25 TOYS OF 25 YEARS Award confirms that a Hugg-A-Planet Earth just may be the must have toy of the Twenty First Century.

(PRWEB) December 20, 2003

Essex Jct. Vermont. Hugg-A-Planet, Earth selected as one of Parents' Choice Foundation. BEST 25 TOYS OF 25 YEARS. Robert Forenza, President "What a great honor be awarded as one of the Best 25 Toys of the Past 25 Years, especially in a market that sees over ten thousand new toys introduced every year."

Fantastic toys donÂ’t just captivate, they help shape lifelong interests, lead to careers, and focus passions. Have you ever wondered what early mechanical experiences led to Wilbur and Orville WrightÂ’s accomplishments? What hours of play and observation honed Thomas Edison? This spark of imagination, knowledge and that loving hug is what we hope for by placing this world in a child's arms.

Children are our future. "If we are to reach real peace in this world... we shall have to start with the children." Mahatma Gandhi. Growing up with this product will help impart generations to come with a healthy, wholesome, and peaceful attitude on our world.

ItÂ’s the magic, thatÂ’s the key. All toys worth their salt have it. Hugg-A-Planet Earth by its very nature has a very special magic. They wet and saturate appetites. They push, pull, and comfort. They help a child build a sense of self, a sense of ability to accomplish," says the Parents' Choice Foundation.

Good toys are not instant gratification. They have staying power; they engage. They help build attention spans, not fragment them. Good toys do not glamorize or reflect the destructive aspects of society. A good toy does not offer answers; it stimulates questions and presents problems for solving - all in good humor.

It is true our planet earth is in need more hugs and love. On the Practical side, Hugg-A-Planet Earth is used to learn, explore and share knowledge with others. On the emotional side, we love what we hug, is a very powerful human trait. Offering the best of both worlds. Put a Hugg-A-Planet, Earth in anyone's arms and watch the magic begin.

Debenhams Launches its First Ever Interactive TV channel

Debenhams announce launch of Debenhams TV which is its first ever interactive TV channel

London, England (PRWEB) October 29, 2010

Debenhams has announced the launch of its first ever interactive TV channel, Debenhams TV which it expects will become the destination for shoppers and online browsers looking for easy to digest, friendly style and shopping advice and purchases.

The new station is expected to win an estimated 1.5 million views in its first week, making it one of the most watched channels in the UK virtually overnight, giving Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley a run for their money.

The channel will provide a fresh alternative to the traditional 'browse and buy' online shopping experience and TV already on retailer websites, and will also offer exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and interviews from photo shoots, fashion shows and launches.

For the first time, Debenhams is lifting the lid on its head office and the people behind the brand; with experts from womens fashion (http://www. debenhams. com/women), lingerie, mens clothing (http://www. debenhams. com/men) and accessories naming their pick of products and how to make these work for the season. There are also plans for personal shoppers and celebrity stylists to give online workshops on how to pick outfits which make the most of your appearance when attending job interviews, weddings, parties and other special occasions.

Launch content focuses on key seasonal dilemmas such as what bra size your wife might be, or what the perfect gift for her at Christmas is. With this useful 'how to' narrative, the channel aims to attract the attention of other consumers that might not be on Debenhams. com through interest generated by social media.

Said Debenhams online trading director, Simon Forster: "Our online TV channel is a brilliant way for our customers to get style and beauty advice, see the latest fashions and just be entertained. You can see it on our website, through our iPhone app, on Youtube and coming soon - in our stores"

The new channel, Debenhams TV (http://www. debenhams. com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/category_10001_10001_162101_-1), will have interviews with top designers such as Ben de Lisi, Henry Holland and Matthew Williamson, plus fashion advice from top industry experts.

Menswear shows feature exclusive footage from the launch of Debenhams latest brand, FFP. Take a peek as British boxers Kevin Mitchell and Frankie Gavin, the faces of the brand, guide customers through their favourite pieces and talk about their boxing victories.

The beauty channel includes easy to replicate, step-by-step make up lessons from industry experts, plus a detailed guide on what to buy to get the look.

Customers can purchase any product that takes their fancy at the click of a mouse, buy taking advantage of the click-to-buy feature as they watch.

Matthew is a highly motivated sales executive who will also contribute to the global leadership team here at TrustDefender and we warmly welcome him aboard.”

TrustDefender explained:
TrustDefender solves the issues facing financial institutions where an increasing percentage of their customer base connects to online banking services with malware infected computers.  Furthermore financial institutions have no visibility in real-time to see whether their customers have taken care of their computers and therefore the enterprise cannot distinguish between an infected or clean computer. This leaves the financial institution and the user at risk.  TrustDefender’s unique technology, evaluates the security health risk of a computing device, allowing the business to detect the ever increasing sophistication of malware, immediately act and stop a potential threat through the application of business rules and policies in real-time before any authentication process begins;  TrustDefender provides key information to online enterprises including financial institutions, while giving the enterprise risk manager a real-time risk profile of the endpoint computers access their website.  TrustDefender can be easily integrated with existing and older risk management engines to enhance the capabilities of these technologies.  TrustDefender provides the enterprise with the ability to not only protect the customer but also notify the customer of any security threats and advise them how to deal with any potential risk. The Safe&Secure Mode will make sure that a customer can always securely login and fix the problem at a later date.

About TrustDefender
TrustDefender is the worldwide leading provider of ‘real-time risk based online transaction security solutions’ to safeguard consumer, financial institution and business online transactions. TrustDefender’s revolutionary technologies enable users to verify its security health state, perform a memory forensics analysis and secure their mobile computing device in real-time - before and during any Internet transactions.

At the same time, TrustDefender provides real time feedback on the security health of their computer. Best yet, the user does not need to be a security expert to use this technology. Most importantly, for the first time, the financial institution has real-time information that they can use to better protect transactions from compromise and also allows the enterprise risk managers to finally get a real time risk profile of their customer base.

The Enterprise Server incorporates a real-time risk-scoring engine that together with the rules and policy engine is always in control and can give the financial institution a server-side tool to mitigate the risk on both ends and includes an extensive Auditing and Reporting module. TrustDefender is the world’s first security solution which enables online businesses to integrate the home user or end user’s PC into one overall security chain.

TrustDefender was founded in December 2005 after the founders discovered the traditional security model was broken – and decided to fix it.

Summertime and the Learning is Easy

Summertime and the Learning is Easy

With peak travel time fast approaching, thoughts turn to the open road. Rather than just taking a "vacation," why not learn something new at the same time? Learning while you travel is the best of both worlds, and older adults in particular, are taking full advantage of this opportunity. "Want more from your travels after age 50? Taking an educational travel program is one of the best ways to continue learning, see the world, and have fun," says Nancy Merz Nordstrom, M. Ed. and the author of "Learning Later, Living Greater: The Secret for Making the Most of Your After-50 Years" (Sentient Publications: ISBN: 1-59181-047-7). For 78 million Baby Boomers keenly interested in a more active and healthy retirement, lifelong learning through educational travel is proving to be an essential part of their everyday life.

Pelham, NH (PRWEB) April 30, 2008

Today, people tend to think the words "travel" and "vacation" are synonymous. They think of them as ways to avoid work, as ways to seek out leisure, and avoid anything "serious." But please don't confuse the two. There is a real difference.

Vacations are just that-vacations, and they certainly have a valuable place in our lives. But, let's talk about another kind of travel-educational travel.

Yes, educational travel is certainly fun, but at the same time you are learning about the history, the culture, the politics, and absorbing the essence of the place you are visiting. You are not soaking up the sun on a beach or heading toward the 18th hole. That belongs in another part of your life.

As technology shrinks our world and brings us all closer together, the opportunity to learn about our neighbors grows. Don't we owe it to ourselves to delve into this landscape and explore the cultures of different people? By doing so, we learn all about their history, the rise of their civilization and its downfall. By viewing both the highs and lows, we come away with a much better view of not just them, but also ourselves. Educational travel gives us the ability to do this in ways nothing else can. We can immerse ourselves in the exotic spectrum of life on Earth.

Educational travel leaves us with much more than a typical vacation. We gain a deeper knowledge of the world. We get to experience life; to truly live it. It can be a life-changing experience.

A Few of the Many Benefits of Educational Travel
View beautiful and historic sites.  Learn about the culture and history of faraway places.  Discover, learn and grow.  Challenge inhibitions while gaining new perspectives.  Gain a global viewpoint.  Satisfy your curiosity about places of special interest.  Develop lasting memories and friendships.  Step outside your comfort zone.

Website Targets Female Sports Fans

Website Targets Female Sports Fans

A unique website aimed at the female sports enthusiast has recently seen an increase in the number of visitors and views this as a trend reflecting the growth of this untapped market.

(PRWEB) July 27, 2005

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(PRWEB) July 27, 2005 -- A unique website aimed at the female sports enthusiast has recently seen an increase in the number of visitors and views this as a trend reflecting the growth of this untapped market. Ivette Ricco launched, Femmefan. com, five years ago when she realized there was a need for a forum dedicated to female sports fans' interests. Now Femmefan. com logs an average of 2.3 million visits each month, she says. They have also logged an average of 120,000 unique visits monthly during the first six months of this year, indicating a large number who revisit the site.

"Woman are interested in sports, but their passions, commitments and interest are quite different than their male counterparts," Ricco says about her reason for launching the site.

"Women, although avid about their sports interests, are not nearly as involved with statistics and scores as men are," she says. "Women want to know more about the people in the uniforms, more about their lives, their families and, in short, what makes them tick. And they don't mind a little beefcake thrown in for good measure."

Though Ricco's columns are mostly about her prime interest, football and the National Football League, the site has attracted writers from other sports, including baseball, basketball, hockey, boxing and stock car racing.

The concept for Femmefan. com has its roots in the South Bronx, where Ricco was a teenage football fan. "On Sundays, the women in the family would go to the kitchen to cook while the men watched the New York Giants game on the television. I soon realized the men were having a much better time, so I left the kitchen forever."

Now married and living in the Bay Area, she discovered there were a growing number of women at sports venues. On her game-day visits to Candlestick Park, she also noticed there were a large number of women-only tailgate parties. With the help of a former business associate, she developed and launched the site in March, 2000.

The new site, redesigned by San Francisco State University students, went "live" last December.

"The female fan is a largely ignored market," Ricco says, noting the number of visits to her site. "That is primarily because the traditional media and the sports industry has no experience in targeting that market."

Others have tried. The NFL tried NFLforHer. com and Sports Illustrated tried Sports Illustrated for Women, both aimed at the female fan, both failed.

"I think they didn't make it because there was too much "fluff" and not enough nitty-gritty sports stuff. After all, do you see health tips for men in Sports Illustrated?

FemmeFan. com is geared at providing that "nitty-gritty".

The overarching theme of the conference is on the development of multicultural competence related to clinical practice. To that end, the panel presentations, along with the keynote given by Celia J. TUI University Offers Nine Ways to Meet President Obama's Education Challenge

TUI University Offers Nine Ways to Meet President Obama's Education Challenge

In a recent address to Congress, President Obama stated, "I ask every American to commit to at least one year or more of higher education or career training." Tom Finaly of TUI University, a leading online university, offers the following tips to get started on going back to school.

Cypress, California (PRWEB) March 27, 2009

In a recent address to Congress, President Obama stated, "I ask every American to commit to at least one year or more of higher education or career training." The President also made it clear that a high school diploma no longer provides citizens with the means to achieve the American Dream. Furthermore, the President acknowledged that the challenge of paying for higher education has caused many to postpone the college path, and has vowed to enact programs that would make it possible for every American to afford college.

Beyond the financial burden many Americans who would like to get a degree back to school struggle with balancing their jobs and family responsibilities as well. Tom Finaly of TUI University (www. tuiu. edu), a leading online university, offers the following tips to get started on going back to school:

Do your homework.
Spend time researching online universities and continuing education programs in your area before committing to an institution. There are numerous higher education institutions that offer affordable methods of obtaining an education and being economical about your tuition is essential.

Inquire about academic reimbursement.
In some instances, employers will have a reimbursement program for your degree or certain courses that are relevant to your line of work as a way to retain employees. Professional development is necessary in order to eliminate competition on your field, and some companies provide an incentive to continue your education with reimbursement support for their employees.

Apply credits you've earned previously, if applicable.
If you've received credit for classes you took in the past, check with your Admissions office to see whether or not the credits you've earned qualify at your new school.

Get credited for what you know.
The College-Level Examination Program ® (CLEP) gives you the opportunity to earn credit for knowledge you've acquired through on-the-job training or your own life experiences. Nearly 3,000 accredited colleges and universities accept credits earned through scores on CLEP exams.

Allow yourself to become acclimated to your workload.
Don't overwhelm yourself early on by signing up for all required classes. Enrolling in elective courses usually requires less commitment to time and study and will give a "first timer" a means of gauging how well they will perform in future classes.

Create a flexible schedule.
Sometimes the most difficult part of going back to school is finding the time to do so. Researching evening, weekend and summer classes in your area will help to make the process of continuing your education more feasible. If you are still unable to find time to fit in classes at a local college or university, consider getting your education online - making it even easier to create a schedule with some leeway.

Stay organized.
Create a routine to adjust your schedule to your new workload. The more prepared you are, the less frantic you'll feel juggling your family life and professional commitments with academic deadlines.

Time management.
When doing homework or studying, take frequent breaks to eat and stay hydrated. This will help process information faster and will save time in the long run. Spending long hours studying will often make you feel overwhelmed and unable to concentrate. By taking breaks, you are keeping your mind alert and focused.

Take care of yourself.
Above all, make sure you're focusing on your health and well being. Staying well rested and maintaining a healthy diet should be a priority. Allowing yourself to become run down will only hinder your busy schedule - know your limits.

What's Race Got To Do With It?

What's Race Got To Do With It?

(PRWEB) June 12, 2000

WhatÂ’s Race Got To Do With It?

33rd Race Relations Institute

Explores Impact of Race on the Life Cycle

NASHVILLE, TN --- While racial incidents continue to plague communities across America, Fisk University’s Race Relations Institute (RRI) gears up for a one-week seminar devoted to the impact of racism on the lifecycle. The 33rd RRI is scheduled this year from July 10th – 16th on the school’s historic campus in Nashville, Tennessee.

RRI Director Raymond Winbush says this yearÂ’s conference is timely, necessary and needed. “In the wake of police brutality all across the nation and the very serious allegations being made right here in this city, it is important to continue examining the causes and solutions to racism.

Â“ItÂ’s fashionable these days to call race relations – ‘diversity.Â’ But the fact of the matter is that while we are improving nationally in our efforts to become more inclusive and diverse, we are still in the remedial stage of race relations. Just because we are not hearing much on a national level does not mean that the problem has improved or is no longer important.”

Winbush said this yearÂ’s lineup of speakers for the 33rd Institute are racially diverse, interesting, and represent a variety of perspectives. Confirmed speakers for this yearÂ’s national dialogue on race include:

Dr. Henry Foster, chair, President Clinton's Advisory Council on Adolescent Pregnancy; Errin Cosby, photographer (daughter of Bill and Camille Cosby); Jill Nelson, journalist and author of Police Brutality: An Anthology, Volunteer Slavery, and Straight, No Chaser; Minister Benjamin Chavis Muhammad, Nation of Islam; James Allen author of Without Sanctuary: A Pictorial Essay of Lynching in America; Molefi Asante, educator, Professor of African Studies, Temple University; Dr.

Joycelyn Elders, former Surgeon General of the United States; Jawanza Kunjufu, educator and author of The Conspiracy to Destroy Black Boys; Joy DeGruy Leary, lecturer on Post-Traumatic Slave Syndrome; Beatrice Medicine, educator specializing in Native American issues; Paula Young Shelton, early childhood specialist, Black Child Development Institute, Inc.; Lee Mun Wah, filmmaker and producer of the documentary The Color of Fear; John Artis, social worker who was arrested with Rubin "Hurricane" Carter; Sheila Peters, assistant professor of psychology, Fisk University; Oba T'Shaka, professor of Black Studies, San Francisco State University; Renita Weems, minister and author of Just a Sister Away and Listening for God; Arthur Bronner, founder of Sta Sof Fro and publisher of Upscale Magazine; Melodye Stewart, educator and author; Roberto Almazan, Race Relations Specialist; Henri Brooks, chair, Tennessee State Government Black Caucus; Chike Kani Omo, filmmaker, producer and actor in the film Amistad; Meschach Taylor, actor in TV's award-winning series Designing Women; James Earl Jones, actor; Catherine Wyatt Morley, AIDS Activist; Katherine Bankole, director, Center for Black Culture, West Virginia University; Linda Ammons, professor of Law Cleveland State University and author of What's God Got to Do With It; Frances Cress Welsing, psychiatrist and author of The Isis Papers; Neely Fuller, lecturer and author of The United Independent Compensatory Code/ System/ Concept (The Code); Lonnae O'Neal Parker & Kim McClaren, cousins who appeared on ABCÂ’s Nightline to debate their familyÂ’s racial identity; and, Naomi Tutu, program director, Race Relations Institute, Fisk University.

The public is invited to participate in the dialogue to discuss solutions to the problems of race relations and to create strategies for healing an ailing society in America and around the world in the 21st Century.

Each day of the Institute will focus on the impact of racism on different stages of the life cycle. TuesdayÂ’s “Seeds of Hope” session will focus on the effect of racism from the prenatal stage through infancy. WednesdayÂ’s session, “Innocence Betrayed,” takes a look at the impact of racism on children. ThursdayÂ’s “Caught in the Middle” session explores racism in the adolescent years. Racism in the adult years is the topic of FridayÂ’s session, “Still I Rise.” And, SaturdayÂ’s session “IÂ’ve Known Rivers” is devoted to how racism impacts the lives of senior citizens.

The Evening Dialogues are free and open to the public and begin at 7:00 P. M. in the universityÂ’s Memorial Chapel.

Early registration is encouraged since space is limited to 300. Conference fees are $275 early registration; $375 on-site; $75 students/senior citizens; $225 per person for groups with five articipants or more. The individual day rate is $65.

The Institute welcomes leaders in academia, politics, community-activism, religion, health, media, entertainment, and business. It is through the Institute that a network of scholars from the social and natural sciences as well as medicine and the humanities will donate their time to focus on the specific issue of racism throughout the life cycle.

The historical summer Institute is one of the premier models for racial dialogue in America. Designated “Promising Practice” by the White House, the Race Relations Institute at Fisk University is funded with grants from the W. K. Kellogg Foundation, Pitney Bowes, GTE Wireless, and Beaman Automotive Group.

Help For The Overweight Child - FLAVORx Research Institute Working in Cooperation with Bariatric Surgeons and Pediatric Specialists to Address Childhood Obesity

Help For The Overweight Child - FLAVORx Research Institute Working in Cooperation with Bariatric Surgeons and Pediatric Specialists to Address Childhood Obesity

The FLAVORx Research Institute is currently working with pediatric obesity specialists and bariatric surgeons to derive a solution to the rise in childhood obesity. Readily available high-calorie and sugar-added food and drinks in combination with less exercise and activity has led to an astronomical jump in cases of overweight and obsese children and adolescents. FRI is committed to working with chemists and researchers to derive a supplement that will provide the nutrients that children need that tastes good without a high caloric intake.

Bethesda, MD (PRWEB) May 10, 2006

According to the American Obesity Association, it is estimated that about 15.5% of adolescents (ages 12-19) and 15.3% of children (ages 6-11) are obese. This is a staggering wake-up call for children, parents, policy experts and healthcare practitioners nationwide who are now grappling with an obesity problem that has nearly quadrupled in children over the last 25 years. Therefore, the FLAVORx Research Institute (FRI), the technical arm of FLAVORx, Inc that is dedicated to examining breakthrough technologies in health and pharmaceuticals, has recently partnered with bariatric surgeons and pediatric obesity specialists to address this major healthcare challenge for the 21st century. FRI is working in conjunction with top researchers to examine a possible solution to combat the poor dietary habits and nutritional deficiencies that many children and adolescents face.

Beyond the immediate health concerns and healthcare costs that these children may face, experts fear that this group of youngsters could become future overweight and obese adults. The causes of childhood obesity can come from a number of sources. Diet and eating habits, inactivity, socioeconomic status, environment, and of course, genetics can all play a key role in increased prevalence of overweight and obese children and adolescents. Studies show that genetic or “internal” factors account for about 30-40% of obesity cases, meaning external and behavioral factors primarily explain the recent escalation in weight gain among children and adolescents. While these external and behavioral factors may be variable and obscure, physiologically and scientifically speaking, the breakdown is a bit more clear-cut; weight gain occurs when bodily intake exceeds bodily output in the form of activity and exercise.

FRI made plans to first identify the key issues that preclude weight gain. It is apparent that children are ingesting food and drink that are high in calories and low in nutritional value while concurrently not getting enough exercise to compensate for that intake. To address this issue, FRI is currently examining zero and low-calorie solutions that will still supply children and adolescents with the nutrients and electrolytes they need on a day-to-day basis. Not surprisingly, several studies now show that high-calorie and sugar-added drinks, snacks and meals are linked to weight gain. A cup (8 ounces) of apple juice typically contains 112 calories, a cup of cola around 152, and even sports drinks contain approximately 60 calories per cup. With serving sizes on the rise these days (a typical drink is usually 20 ounces), it is not uncommon that children, and adults alike, could easily ingest hundreds of calories in liquids alone without even realizing it. "Sugary beverages have no nutritional value and seem to make a huge contribution to weight gain".

Comprehensive weight-loss programs often do not have a substantial effect on body weight, "People often get overwhelmed (particularly children) by nutrition advice and give up," A good tasting beverage that suppresses the appetite and has no calories but is high in nutrients is a good bet to a simple weight loss plan for children. They simply won't have the cravings for the junk food and beverages they are currently ingesting.

Currently, FRI is working with pediatric obesity specialists and bariatric surgeons to identify the key nutrients that children and adolescents require every day. Working with researchers and chemists, FRI is developing a supplement that will have the capabilities to replenish the body’s cellular and metabolic requirements and suppress the appetite without the unwanted calories. Once this formulation is complete, FRI will go on to test its product with a taste panel to help identify key flavors and formulations that will satisfy the tastes of children and adolescents.

FRI is a consortium of the industry’s top chemists and flavor specialists who have over 10 years of experience addressing the needs of taste science. FLAVORx has partnered with organizations such as the National Institutes of Health, GlaxoSmithKline, the UCLA Department of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology, Doctor's Without Borders and the HIV-Netherlands Amsterdam Thailand Research Collaboration.

New Book Explains How to Save an Extra Hour Every Day

New Book Explains How to Save an Extra Hour Every Day

New book offers 300 practical time management tips for home, work and on the go.

Cupertino, CA (PRWEB) July 15, 2009

Every day has exactly 1,440 minutes in it. Whether you work for a Fortune 500 company, run your own small business or are an independent freelancer, the way you spend those minutes helps or hinders the goals you want to achieve.
Nicolas Soergel, author of the new book Happy About An Extra Hour Everyday (Happy About, 2009) says anyone can create extra time in their life by increasing their efficiency. "If you can save one minute, 60 times a day, you can gain the extra hour needed to make your dreams happen," says Soergel.

Throughout Happy About An Extra Hour Everyday the author offers easy to implement, time saving tips that he terms "quick wins". Here are seven of Soergel's 'quick win' time saving tips.

1. Don't ride the escalator - walk it
The next time you find yourself on an escalator - walk up it's stairs instead of standing still for the ride. You'll gain an extra minute at least and boost your heart health at the same time.

2. Be the first patient on the books
Doctors are notorious for running behind schedule - especially during the later part of the day. Avoid getting delayed at the doctor's office by booking the first appointment in the morning.

3. Wear your oldest pair of shoes when buying new ones
Why bother bringing home you're old pair of clunkers, when you have just bought a shinny new pair of shoes. The solution is to wear your old shoes into the store and put on your new ones on your way out. Ask the sales folks to dispose of your old pair.

4. Reduce your storage space
Common wisdom says that to reduce clutter, you should increase your amount of storage space. While this sounds logical we all know that an empty space is an invitation for more stuff. Instead try reducing your storage space. Each time you dispose of a storage element (a shelf, drawer etc.) go through the items stored there and dispose of everything you no longer use.

5. Change your sleep schedule
By adapting your sleep patterns you can easily can gain up to 15 minutes each day. Here's how: Begin by reducing the amount of time you sleep by 5 minutes every day - either by going to bed a few minutes latter or waking up a few minutes earlier. Every few day increase the amount of time you sleep by 5 minutes, until you are comfortably up to 15 minutes total.

6. Just say no to giveaways
Most of us are regularly offered giveaways that we don't need; do not add any value to our life, and end up taking up space to store and time to sort and clean. One solution is to not take them in the first place. So, the next time the lady at the perfume counter offers you a sample simply say 'no thanks' and walk away.

7. Don't' clean, tidy up
Cleaning and tidying up are two different tasks that require different equipment, time commitments and even cleaning supplies. In order to clean, you first have to tidy up the clutter. To keep your home and office organized tidy up each day and clean once a week.

SpaCapsule Massage and Religious Modesty

SpaCapsule Massage and Religious Modesty

With SpaCapsule massage users remain fully clothed, dry and are not touched, spa capsule assists with Muslim religeous observance.

Miami, FL (PRWEB) August 20, 2006

Historically, massage performed by members of the opposite sex has been looked down upon by many whose values of modesty are guided by strict religious adherence. To address the health needs of many religious followers, SpaCapsule® has expanded its reach into Egypt and many other countries in the Middle East with its unique Capsule design and the ability to administer a therapeutic massage, without human touch, to individuals who are fully dressed.

The benefits of massage are well known and documented. Thanks to the ongoing research, here are some newly discovered benefits of massage:

Medical school students at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School who were massaged before an exam showed a significant decrease in anxiety and respiratory rates, as well as a significant increase in white blood cells and natural killer cell activity, suggesting a benefit to the immune system.

Preliminary results suggested cancer patients had less pain and anxiety after receiving therapeutic massage at the James Cancer Hospital and Research Institute in Columbus, Ohio.

Women who had experienced the recent death of a child were less depressed after receiving therapeutic massage, according to preliminary results of a study at the University of South Carolina.

These and other benefits have eluded those who are uncomfortable undressing around strangers or have religious or ethnic aversion to disrobing or being touched by members of the opposite sex. SpaCapsule®, which provides a massage using a patented multi-jet technology, provides a relaxing massage that is variable depending on the individual user for pressure and pulsation while user remains fully clothed.

“Our sales to this segment of the market have been strong” stated Jeff Greene, VP of Sales. “I was not aware of the strict religious codes until coming to SpaCapsule®. This has been more of a chance encounter, but nonetheless great for sales.” “Our distributors in Egypt, Jordan, UAE and Kuwait are all seeing tremendous traffic. Even some Spa Capsule owners in the United States have commented on increased business serving customers whose religious modesty is a priority.”

About SpaCapsule® - Founded in 2000, Simulated Environment Concepts, Inc. / SpaCapsule® is a leading manufacturer of commercial and personal wellness equipment. Mom Duo’s Healthy School Lunch Business Growing Rapidly “Wholesome Tummies” Awards First Franchise Furthering Its Mission To Fight Childhood Obesity Epidemic

Mom Duo’s Healthy School Lunch Business Growing Rapidly “Wholesome Tummies” Awards First Franchise Furthering Its Mission To Fight Childhood Obesity Epidemic

Long before Jamie Oliver's show was a hit, two Orlando moms partnered and created company that provides healthy school lunch alternatives for parents who seek better nutrition for their children and a way to protect their kids from childhood obesity. Organic and hot, kids like the food; parents like the convenience and good health and are requesting that Wholesome Tummies be available in their kids' schools. Program expanding to Pinellas County as a result; demand growing.

Orlando, Fla. (Vocus) April 16, 2010

Wholesome Tummies, an Orlando-based company created by two young mothers, has awarded its first franchise, enabling the business to grow beyond Central Florida into Pinellas County this fall, expanding its plans to provide healthy meal options to more parents and children.

Wholesome Tummies, founded three years ago by two mothers with a shared interest in ensuring that children eat well at school, provides between 4,000 and 5,000 meals each month to 22 schools in Central Florida. Co-founders Samantha Gotlib and Debbie Blacher launched the franchise option last month to expand their mission to change school meal plans from high-fat and processed foods to more fresh and natural selections. Several other franchise applications are currently under review.

“We remain adamant about children eating foods that are fresh, all-natural and free from artificial ingredients,” said co-founder Samantha Gotlib. “We are faced with an epidemic of childhood obesity because poor food choices are the tradition in our nation’s schools. Our mission is to change that. We know we’re on track; even Chef Jamie Oliver has a new tv show about this very issue.”

The new Wholesome Tummies franchise in Pinellas County is expected to begin operations this fall when the new school year kicks off. The company has already been approached by several schools seeking to make Wholesome Tummies meals available to students. A young couple, who have raised their seven-year-old on organic food, were approved last week for the franchise.

REMEMBERING TO TAKE YOUR MEDICATIONS PROPERLY - WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW AND MAKING IT EASIER TO REMEMBER

REMEMBERING TO TAKE YOUR MEDICATIONS PROPERLY - WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW AND MAKING IT EASIER TO REMEMBER

This article explains the importance of taking medications properly. Information on what you need to know about your medications, as well as tools to help you remember to take your medication are included.

(PRWEB) October 25, 2003

Have you ever forgotten to take your medication as instructed? Or skipped doses to save money? Or taken someone elseÂ’s medication?

If you do any of the above, then you could:

· Lose time at work from staying sick (over 20 million workdays are lost every year);

· Be one of the 10% who end up in the hospital;

· Be one of the 23% that end up in a nursing home because of a simple error; or even,

· Die. 125,000 people a year die from not taking their medications properly.

Imagine. Of over 3 billion prescriptions written every year, one third is taken completely as written, one third are filled but not finished as instructed, and one third are never even filled. It doesnÂ’t make much sense to go to the doctor and then not take his/her advice.

Your doctor prescribes these medications to control and/or cure your illness and disease. Taking your medications properly can prolong your life and/or improve the quality of your life.

By not taking your medications properly, your disease or illness can progress. Many times the symptoms are mild or unnoticeable, such as in high blood pressure or diabetes, until you are seriously ill. In the case of antibiotics, by not taking the full prescription, you are allowing the bacteria to become resistant to the medication. It then comes back harder and stronger— which means the doctor has to prescribe even ‘stronger’ antibiotics. Some of these ‘stronger’ antibiotics have possible serious side effects.

Not taking your medications properly is called medication noncompliance. This could be as simple as taking too much or too little, taking them erratically because we forget or just stopping because we feel better. Americans spend over $100 billion on medication noncompliance every year in increased emergency room visits, hospital and nursing home admissions, as well as doctor visits and outpatient testing. Since almost 50% of all prescriptions filled are not taken properly, it is no wonder that our medical costs are skyrocketing.

It is important to know as much as possible about your medication. Ask your doctor and your pharmacist to make sure you understand why you are taking the medication and what it will do for you. YouÂ’ll want to know how long it will take to work and how you will know it is working properly. Just as important, you need to know what the possible side effects are and if there are any alternatives.

Make sure you know the following about your medication:

· How much to take

· How often and the best times for you to take it

· How to take it— with water, with food or on an empty stomach

· Should it be kept in the refrigerator or is it okay to store at room temperature

· If you need a refill, when is it due

· If there is anything that would adversely affect you. Some medications will not work as well or can cause you to get sick if taken with certain foods, alcohol, certain herbal remedies and other medications (whether prescription or over the counter).

Thirty-two million of us take five or more medications a day, sometimes several times a day. This can get very confusing. Luckily, there are many tools—both low-tech and high-tech—

Available to help us remember. Some of the low-tech tools include the infamous pillboxes that we all use, divided by day, morning and evening, or by the week or the medication charts that are used with the pillboxes or alone for reference. Others are diaries or booklets.

Some of the tools to help us remember how to take our meds include:

Weekly Medication Charts by Easy Minder Reusable Lists. This great new product is a reusable, write-on, wipe-off medication chart. It comes in two formats – medication schedule by time of day (with 14 time slots) or all the information for each individual medication (up to 8 medications). Caregivers look this chart because it shows whether the medication has been taken. Visit www. easyminders. com or call (978) 681- 9969 for more information on these easy-to-use charts.

Does your medication speak to you? There are also pill bottles that “tell” you the information you need. A pharmacist designed the Talking Rx® for the visually impaired. Visit www. talkingrx. com or call (860) 426-0542 for more information.

Finally, there are even timers, pagers and watches with vibrating

Alarms and beeps to tell you what time to take your medications. These along with several types of dispensers can be found at www. epill. com.

Now you have it. There is no excuse any longer for forgetting to take your medications properly and as intended by your physician. Only you can impact the quality of your health for the better simply by following your doctorÂ’s advice and taking your medications properly

Renaissance Creative Services Ranked Jacksonville's 6th Fastest Growing Private Company On Business Journal's "Fast 50" List

Renaissance Creative Services Ranked Jacksonville's 6th Fastest Growing Private Company On Business Journal's "Fast 50" List

Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) July 24, 2005

Renaissance Creative Services, the nine-year-old real estate marketing and brand development company was named Jacksonville's 6th fastest growing private company in the Jacksonville Business Journal's 2005 "Fast 50" competition, the company reported.

This year's rankings were revealed July 14th during a luncheon hosted by the Jacksonville Business Journal at Alltel Stadium. Over 700 guests attended the event, including various corporate leaders, their employees, VIP's and event sponsors. The occasion marked the third time in the past four years that Renaissance had been named to the list. The firm was ranked #10 in 2004 and #25 in 2002.

To be eligible for the competition, a company must have demonstrated three consecutive years of revenue growth with minimum annual revenue of $1 million dollars. The rankings are based on the total average annual percentage growth over the last three years. From 2002 to 2004, Renaissance's growth rate averaged 74.5% annually. The company had total revenue of $2.85 million in 2004.

Renaissance is headed by company president and co-creative director, Tim Hamby, along with Partners and co-creative directors, Matthew Britt and Architect, Ed Bondi. The firm has two offices inside the Perimeter Park office complex near the intersection of Southside Boulevard and J. Turner Butler Boulevard.

Renaissance specializes in residential, commercial and resort real-estate marketing, offering a broad range of services including comprehensive advertising and public relations services, marketing and media planning, brand development, graphic design, web-development, architectural and interior design services, and signage programs.

Hamby said the company was enjoying a healthy growth rate again this year, with revenue up by 50% at the end of the second quarter. The firm has grown from 10 to 20 employees over the past two years and has increased office space twice, with plans to expand further in the spring of 2006.

"We, of course, have been excited about the rapid growth over the past few years and our performance(s) in this prestigious competition", said Hamby. But, our goal has never been to be the biggest; only to be consistent in producing outstanding work and developing a solid reputation as a company that people want to work with. When you can achieve that, growth happens naturally."

Britt pointed out that the company's growth was primarily a byproduct of its own success, as opposed to a concerted effort to grow. "We're particularly proud of the fact that our growth has been directly related to leaving our clients satisfied. We've done very little in the way of self-promotion over the years, relying almost exclusively on repeat and referral business. There are no salespeople or anyone assigned to new business development; only very talented creatives and experienced service professionals", he said.

Bondi added that the company's real-estate marketing niche and broad experience within that field had also played a key role. "It was always our vision to occupy this highly-specialized niche and to be the very best we could at it. As it worked out, real-estate has become one of the hottest and enduring market sectors over the past several years. The southeast, and North Florida in particular, has become one of the most active regions for development and people in the industry know we are a name they can trust".

Paladin Pet Products Pampers Pets Online

Paladin Pet Products Pampers Pets Online

Www. PaladinPetProducts. com opens its new web store to bring pet fashion and quality toys to the online shopping population.

City, State (PRWEB) April 4, 2008

Niaomi Hamilton recently opened www. PaladinPetProducts. com because of her love of animals and her desire to do something on the Internet. "They always tell you to do something that you know, that you're familiar and comfortable with, and the Internet offered a means of doing a business where I'm comfortable," explains Niaomi. "The fact that it's a pet web site… well, animals I know. Pets I know. I'm very comfortable with my pets; it's something I love and cherish, so it's easy. It's not work."

A true lifelong passion, Niaomi's love of her pets and of animals in general is a factor in every facet of her business. "It's like they say -- do something you're passionate about. I'm very passionate about animals, and about the relationship between animals and people," she says, detailing just part of her deeply-held philosophy about people and animals. "I want to make sure that it's a healthy relationship for both parties, and offering products that encourage that relationship feels good to me."

Niaomi takes great care in the selection of products for her store, going over them carefully before deciding whether or not to include them. "I'm choosing each and every one of these items," says Niaomi. "I choose them in terms of safety for both the animal and the people. There are certain pet products out there that I disagree with, like dog muzzles that, to me, break the animal's spirit. I'm always going to choose products that encourage a happy, friendly relationship between the person and the animal. Their relationship should be a joyful and fun one for both."

Regular updates of both the amusing and the innovative are Niaomi's stock in trade, keeping her products fresh and catering to all varieties of pet lovers. With a wide selection of pet clothes and fun toys as well as a number of practical items, like safety gates and pet beds, all avenues are covered. "I just found a dog bed for older dogs where you can fill it with hot water to keep them warm in winter, and also with cold water during summer months. That's practical," says Niaomi, who also jokes, "Sometimes people think, 'Oh boy, why would you want to dress your animal?' Well, if the pets are okay with it and the people are having fun with it, I say go for it. I want to help people understand that animals try so hard to understand us. They're not just things -- they are beings that have huge emotional feelings."

Niaomi shares both her opinions about pets and advice about her products on www. PaladinPetProducts. net, her new blog. "My blog will be to encourage people to express their own relationships with their animals; to inform other people of discoveries they've made about relationships with their animals," she says enthusiastically. "Maybe to relay some fun anecdotes, and again to express examples of how much animals try to talk to us, because they do. They try so hard to interact. I have dogs, and they try so hard to talk to me in a way that they feel I will understand. I think it takes an awful lot of intelligence to try and put things in a way that I will 'get'. They work hard at that, and I want to give them credit for this, and I think that's probably one of the strongest things that will come out of my blog. A lot of this is coming from years of study and reading, and a lot of observation -- I'm not just pulling this stuff out of my hat. There's been a lot of research behind it." The blog will also feature discussion about the various charities Paladin Pet Products will contribute to, helping animals in distress and protecting wilderness areas.
