Men's Life Today Names Winners Of 'Be A Better Man' Competition
Prizes Awarded for Best Tips for Young Men In Four Key Categories
New York (Vocus) January 19, 2010
The winners of a monthlong online contest offering Men’s Life Today visitors a chance to win a year's supply of razor blades have been announced. The contest, "Be a Better Man," challenged readers to submit tips on how to be a better man in the categories of grooming and style, health and fitness, work and play, and relationships.
The winners of the national competition were judged by the award-winning writers and editors of Studio One Networks, creator and syndicator of Men’s Life Today. The winners and their tips are:
•James P., Kentucky (Grooming and Style)
"If you dry your disposable razor (head or blades), you will get a better shave for a longer period."
•Stella E., Virginia (Health and Fitness)
"Start to see exercise as fun again. You don't have to compare yourself to your ‘old’ self, who could run several miles without stopping. It's not shameful or embarrassing to walk and run in the same mile. Use your time for exercise to think and reflect about your day. Listen to music. Let exercise be fun again! Don't push yourself too hard. Just make sure you're having fun (or you will find it difficult to find the incentive to work out again)!”
Matthew G., Washington, D. C. (Work and Play) "Leave your work at work. This requires keeping two phones and leaving the BlackBerry at home when it's time to play. If you work as hard at having fun in your life as you do at work, you'll be the most satisfied man in all aspects of your life."
Charles W., Illinois (Relationships) "I always put the women first in the relationship. Never forget the little things like buying her roses for no reason, running a bubble bath for her because she had a stressful day at work, or massaging her neck and shoulders to help her relax."
