Ovations For the Cure Elects Corporate Family Network President/CEO Linda John to Board
John brings more than 25 years of business acumen to the ovarian cancer non-profit's board.

Ovations for the Cure announced today that Linda John has been elected to their board of directors. Ms. John is President/CEO and founder of Corporate Family Network (CFN), a nationally recognized employee assistance program based in New York City.
Founded in 1996, CFN offers integrated wellness solutions that support a high-functioning workforce and a high-performance work environment. They assist companies by providing employees specialized services and expertise in the areas of care giving, work-life balance, emotional well-being, and health and wellness.
Since its inception, Ovations for the Cure has been dedicated to supporting the research, treatment and patient awareness of ovarian cancer. As an ovarian cancer survivor herself, Ms. John brings first-hand knowledge and experience in understanding what ovarian cancer patients undergo.
Ovations for the Cure knows the addition of Ms. John will both strengthen the expertise and expand the breadth of the Ovations board. Ms. John holds a business degree from St. John's University and a Master's Degree in Social Work from New York University. About Ovarian Cancer:
Called the silent killer, ovarian cancer frequently causes non-specific symptoms that contribute to diagnoses in the late stages, and more than 70 percent of women diagnosed with this disease are diagnosed too late for successful treatment. In 2008, it is estimated that approximately 21,650 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer and 15,520 will die. Notable victims include actresses Jessica Tandy and Gilda Radner, as well as civil rights activist Coretta Scott King. The mothers of Harry Connick Jr., Angelina Jolie and President Barack Obama have also died of ovarian cancer. Actresses Kathy Bates and Carol Channing are survivors of the disease.
