A 100% bar-coded solution, the PillPick system enables point-of-care verification and supports centralized, decentralized, and hybrid pharmacy operations. Using the exclusive PillPick Manager application, the system receives electronic patient orders via the HL7 interface, sorts them by priority, and begins to automatically unload the drugs either from the DrugNest, a high-density robotic warehouse or the BoxPicker, a space-saving, modular storage and dispensing solution. A unique tracking number is assigned to every unit-dose bag in the PillPick system - further assisting the pharmacy with billing accuracy and inventory control. Then a patient-specific, 24 hour supply of drugs is grouped together on Swisslog's patented PickRing. Return crediting is automatic requiring no manual scanning.
