The seventh-annual Los Angeles Children's Earth Day takes place at STAR ECO Station, a non-profit environmental science museum and exotic wildlife rescue center in Culver City. In the heart of Screenland lies this fantastical indoor jungle, with a wild menagerie of animals from around the globe. STAR ECO Station -- designed to look like an ancient Mayan temple swallowed by the rainforest -- offers a last chance to over 100 threatened and endangered species, including tropical birds, wildcats, reptiles and sea life. This unique sanctuary transports visitors down lantern-lit, mossy hallways on a magical, interactive lesson in environmentalism and ecology. Visitors to STAR ECO Station will discover an 18-foot python named Brutus, Ozzie the chatty cockatoo, a beautiful bobcat named Jay and so much more.

STAR ECO Station works throughout the year to provide innovative environmental science education programs for children, parents, schools and community organizations, and to inspire a commitment to environmentalism in the children's community. Dedicated to a mission of Preservation through Education, STAR ECO Station's promotes environmental stewardship, resource management, responsible consumerism and environmentally-friendly lifestyles. Through interactive tours of the wildlife sanctuary as well as educational outreach, assemblies, classroom instruction, gifted and talented programs, field trips, seasonal camps and community events, STAR ECO Station annually reaches more than one million learners in over 40 school districts throughout California. Naturalist-guided weekend tours of STAR ECO Station are $6 for children (16 and under), $7 for seniors (65 and over) and $8 for adults.
