In the late 1970’s Dr. Gustavo Bounous and a team of physicians began comparing the effects of different dietary protein sources on the immune function. What they eventually found was intriguing. By using an isolate of milk serum as the protein source in the diet of animals, they found that the immune function was enhanced.
This effect was seen in a variety of ways including a greater response to a “foreign antigen,” a heightened resistance.
Subsequently, Dr. Bounous and his team were able to trace the immune-enhancing or “bioactivity,” of the protein mixture to its ability to provide a rich source of GLUTATHIONE PRECURSORS (specifically the amino acids, cystine & methionine which are also found in human milk) which enable the immune system to develop an optimum response when challenged with an immune stimulus (foreign antigen).
Dr. Bounous has worked with scientists and researchers around the world testing the effects and benefits of the protein in Immunocal® on subjects with compromised immune systems. This research has shown the powerful impact the protein in Immunocal® can have on a person’s health and well-being.
The patented milk serum protein isolate developed by Dr. Bounous is now commercially available in North America.
