This “Minimizing Risks Of Indoor Environmental Litigation” Teleconference’s intent is to identify risks and risk avoidance techniques once indoor health complaints arise.

This discussion is intended for those along the risk chain in indoor environmental litigation. The intent is to identify risks and risk avoidance techniques once indoor health complaints arise. During this seminar, attendees with learn, how to identify the severity of the risk, how to triage and whom to call when and for what, the critical role of effective risk communication with occupants and key principles for both preventing claims and defending those which arise.

Ronald E. Gots, M. D.Ph. D., is the CEO of the International Center for Toxicology and Medicine, and the chief science officer of Building Health Sciences. He has spent much of his professional career dealing with environmental risk assessment and management, and consulting in litigation. He has authored 90 professional publications and 13 books or book chapters. He co-edited and wrote several chapters in Keeping Buildings Healthy. Dr. Gots has dealt with hundreds of indoor environmental matters involving assisted living facilities, schools, municipal buildings including courthouses, apartment buildings, commercial buildings, hotels, homes and condominiums. He and his colleagues have been involved in over 100 matters at all stages ranging from early investigation of problems in which litigation never arose through courtroom testimony. Many of those matters involved dozens to hundreds of occupants or litigants. Dr. Gots will share his lessons learned—what works and what does not—to provide those involved with these matters a clear roadmap for action.
