Michigan Traumatic Brain Injury Lawyer is the Authority for TBI Accident Victims
Michigan Auto Law has recently released a comprehensive 20- page resource center for traumatic brain injury accident victims and traumatic brain injury lawyers.
Southfield, MI (PRWEB) May 22, 2009 -
Michigan Auto Law has released a comprehensive resource center to protect victims of car accidents and truck accidents who have suffered traumatic brain injury (http://www. michiganautolaw. com/injuries/tbi-attorney/auto-accident. php), as well as attorneys handling traumatic brain injury cases, on http://www. michiganautolaw. com (http://www. michiganautolaw. com)
Approximately 2 million people suffer traumatic brain injury every year in the United States -- principally from car accidents, according to the National Institutes of Health. The organization also notes that TBI is the leading cause of long-term disability among children and young adults. Yet there has been no resource, until now, that explains Michigan's laws as they specifically relate to TBI, and the rules and exceptions that apply when someone suffers a brain injury from an auto accident. The personal injury lawyers of Michigan Auto Law are providing this information for the public and the legal profession to bridge that knowledge gap.
The Michigan Traumatic Brain Injury Lawyer Resource Center (http://www. michiganautolaw. com/injuries/tbi-attorney/index. php) includes legal resources on TBI, steps to take after an accident (http://www. michiganautolaw. com/injuries/tbi-attorney/what-to-do. php) that causes TBI, the definition of traumatic brain injury and TBI symptoms (http://www. michiganautolaw. com/injuries/tbi-attorney/symptoms. php).
Additional pages, such as Help for Michigan Lawyers Handling Traumatic Brain Injury Cases (http://www. michiganautolaw. com/michiganlawyers/tbi-lawyer/index. php) contain information on the unique Michigan brain injury law, tips to help lawyers avoid pitfalls posed by the defense (http://www. michiganautolaw. com/michiganlawyers/tbi-lawyer/defense-traps. php) in TBI cases, documenting TBI and how to reach a jury under Michigan's current car accident threshold laws.
Michigan lawyer Steven M. Gursten, of Southfield-based Michigan Auto Law, authored the material. Gursten is recognized as one of the nation's top experts in serious traumatic brain injury cases and automobile insurance no-fault litigation. He serves on the executive board of the American Association for Justice Traumatic Brain Injury Group, a group of trial attorneys dedicated to helping victims of traumatic brain injury. He was recently invited to become the first Michigan traumatic brain injury lawyer to serve on the legal committee for the Sarah Jane Brain Project, a foundation that aims to create a model system for all children suffering from pediatric acquired brain injuries. Gursten is co-chair of the Michigan Association for Justice Automobile Accident No-Fault Committee.
"Lawyers who represent victims of traumatic brain injury have a special obligation, because TBI can be utterly devastating, yet difficult to prove." Gursten said. ''Keep in mind that traumatic brain injury law pleading requirements and proofs -- and the auto accident exceptions that exist under Michigan law -- are very specific.''
Gursten is available for comment on traumatic brain injury, TBI accident law in Michigan and automobile accidents. He regularly blogs on traumatic brain injury.
