Hendersonville, NC (PRWEB) April 3, 2007
Carriage Park Associates, LLC is pleased to announce that the company has been acquired by long-time General Manager Dale Hamlin and his wife, interior designer Lisa Hamlin. Established in 1989, Carriage Park is a standout gated mountain community located off Haywood Road three miles north of downtown Hendersonville.
"We have lived in western North Carolina for many years and consider this our home," said Mr. Hamlin, who has successfully developed more than 14 residential communities during his career. "We know what is important to residents in this beautiful area and we look forward to completing what we believe is the finest mountainside community in Western North Carolina."
Selected by "Where to Retire" magazine four times as one of "America's 100 Best Master-Planned Communities," Carriage Park is well-known for its many firsts. All of the development's roads are built to state standards and the picturesque Carriage Park Way circles within the community, routing traffic away from residential neighborhoods. "It's the only residential road of its kind in Western North Carolina and reminds me of the Blue Ridge Parkway," said Mr. Hamlin.
A number of neighborhoods in Carriage Park sit at an elevation of over 2,500 feet, affording residents sweeping views of the Pisgah National Forest and colorful panoramas of nearby valleys. While the community has many amenities that people seek when choosing a retirement home such as a clubhouse, indoor pool, tennis courts, walking trails and a lake, another important feature for newcomers is Carriage Park's thriving homeowners association of 420-plus members. The organization maintains an active social calendar and sponsors many activities including hiking and golf outings in the surrounding area.
Carriage Park also has its own fire station and is home to Liedl Dam, the largest privately-owned earthen dam in Henderson County and the first in the U. S. to be constructed with a system of rock-filled, rectangular stainless steel cages known as gabion walls. Liedl Dam and the subsequent creation of five-acre Bowing Lake are part of Hamlin's long-range plan to offer waterfront homes in the 400-acre development. A model home, and the first of what will eventually be 32 custom lakefront homes, is scheduled for completion next fall. Mrs. Hamlin leads the model home's design team.
For the Hamlins, the purchase of Carriage Park Associates comes at the perfect time. "This is a well-established community that, unlike numerous developments springing up far from town, is in close proximity to health care, shopping, and cultural and recreational activities," said Mr. Hamlin. "With our rapidly growing area, we offer the best of all worlds: nature's beauty, peace and quiet and the conveniences of city living."
