Sr. Exec Brings Vast Healthcare Experience to Wireless Healthcare Company
San Mateo, Calif. (PRWEB) May 8, 2006
Sensitron, Inc., a market leader in international wireless point-of-care solutions, announced that Mark Zielazinski, a former Chief Information Officer (CIO) with over 23 years of healthcare experience, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer.
“Zielazinski’s extensive experience in healthcare will help us operate at a higher level as we continue to expand our business both domestically as well as internationally,” said Sensitron’s CEO, Rajiv Jaluria. Zielazinski will be responsible for channeling the sales force and improving overall operational efficiency, as well as introducing the technology to a wide array of facilities.
Zielazinski, formerly the CIO of El Camino Hospital, achieved numerous successes while at El Camino Hospital. A few notable examples include: establishing the hospital as one of the country’s 100 most wired hospitals; achieving Magnet status for the hospital by the American Nurses Association (a title bestowed upon only 3% of US hospitals); and negotiating contracts with several partners and vendors to reduce overall costs while simultaneously improving caregiver satisfaction.
“I’m very excited about the Sensitron business model, and how we can leverage it worldwide to significantly benefit patients, caregivers and hospitals.” said Mark Zielazinski. “At El Camino Hospital, I saw how careTrends™ helped bring about a higher standard of patient care and how it was a win for everyone.”
Prior to his role as CIO of El Camino Hospital, Zielazinski, who is also currently affiliated with Intel’s Digital Health Group and Cisco Healthcare, held senior management positions at several major hospitals and healthcare firms, including: VP and CIO of NeuroSource Inc.; Executive VP of DAOU Systems; the CIO of Columbus-Cabrini MC in Chicago; and Senior Director/CIO of Holmes Regional MC in Florida. Zielazinski graduated with a BS in Political Science from Illinois State University.
