New Line Media Solutions is pleased to announce the selection of Clover-Stornetta Farms, Inc. for its innovative, educational television series, Pulse on America. The company will be featured as part of our Models of Excellence series for its organic production.

Clover-Stornetta has eight family farms on CaliforniaÂ’s North Coast, from Marin County to the Oregon border, that produce its organic milk. One of the few family-owned and operated dairy plants in California, it is based in Petaluma. The rich soil, green rolling hills, and climate of the North Coast make the area ideal for dairy farming. Since Clover Stornetta Farms inception in 1977, it has opposed the concept of mega dairies and fought to keep family farming viable; brought food consumption back to the hands of the consumers through awareness; and aided in the conservation of the land.

What they do is called sustainable agriculture: economically viable, environmentally sound and socially responsible. Clover listens to consumers and has made every effort to be the cleanest available milk by managing a healthy environment for people as well as animals.

In September 2000, Clover-Stornetta Farms was the first dairy farm in the United States and the only company in California awarded the American Humane AssociationÂ’s Free Farmed label for humanely produced dairy products. Free Farmed assures that their cows are FREE from unnecessary fear and distress; from unnecessary pain, injury and disease; from hunger and thirst; from unnecessary discomfort and free to enjoy the company of their own kind.

Clover-Stornetta also carries the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) certification. HACCP is a specialized scientific approach to product safety. Clover is one of only 14 dairy plants in the United States listed in the Interstate Milk Shipment program that has been HACCP certified. Once a dairy plant is listed as having HACCP certification, the plant is routinely audited to ensure it continues to meet all regulations. The company strives to surpass the standard it has met, making Clover-Stornetta the safest best quality milk for the northern California area.

Clover-Stornetta has addressed customersÂ’ concerns by making sure they meet all standards. The ranchers are required to sign an affidavit stating they donÂ’t use the growth hormone rBST on their cows.

Pete Hardin of “the Milkweed” in Brooklyn, WI, had this to say about Clover-Stornetta farms: “Top quality milk on the supermarket shelf starts with excellent milk from the dairy farm. And no milk processor in the United States starts with a better quality milk than Clover Stornetta Farms of Petaluma, CA. Clover milk is quite possibly the cleanest milk in the United States.”

Clover is about preserving the family farm. For more information, see www. cloverstornetta. com
