Lorin Laxton, Managing Partner of FIGS Market, LLC, a gourmet food market located in Cameron Village, has announced that Chris Rubinstein has joined the firm as Head Chef. Rubinstein, formerly a Roundsman at sister company Catering Works, specializes in vegan cuisine and has nine years of experience in the health food industry. As Head Chef, he will manage the marketÂ’s kitchen staff, ensure the quality and presentation of prepared foods, salad bar, and hot food bar, as well as create and implement new recipes that reflect the marketÂ’s core values: exciting, exotic, tasty and appealing. A Raleigh resident, Rubinstein has his Associates Degree in Culinary Arts from Wake Technical Community College.
