Trial Lawyer David P. Whittlesey Joins Andrews Kurth as Partner in the Austin Office

Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that David Whittlesey has joined the firm's Austin office as a Partner in the Litigation section.
Whittlesey, who is President-Elect of the Austin Bar Association, will focus his practice on complex commercial, business and technology litigation. Areas of practice include antitrust, securities, and intellectual property. He has litigated numerous cases involving mergers and acquisitions, license agreements, software and systems design, systems integration, telecommunications, professional malpractice, trade secrets, real estate, banking, construction, unfair competition, oil and gas, health care, and trademark matters. He has represented clients in litigation and arbitration matters and in trial and appellate proceedings in several states and the District of Columbia. He also regularly counsels clients on compliance issues.

Whittlesey is a former president of the Austin Young Lawyer's Association and an active member of the Admissions and Disciplinary Committee for the Western District of Texas. He previously served as the secretary and treasurer of the Austin Bar Association. He is a founding fellow of the Austin Bar Foundation and a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. Whittlesey is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is admitted to practice before the U. S. District courts for the Western, Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of Texas, as well as the U. S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.

Mr. Whittlesey received his B. B.A. from the University of Texas in 1991. He received his J.
