Copper Canyon Academy Therapeutic Boarding School for Girls Recommended by Dr. Phil
On a show that aired on September 27, 2010, Dr. Phil recommended Copper Canyon Academy therapeutic boarding school for a troubled teenage girl.
Rimrock, Ariz. (PRWEB) October 6, 2010 –
On a show titled “Troubled Teens: Update,” Dr. Phil McGraw shared the story of two troubled teen girls. The girls were rebelling against their parents, getting into trouble with the law, and experimenting with drugs and alcohol.
As Dr. Phil reviewed, their family was in a “crisis situation” before he recommended that the girls enroll at Turn-About Ranch, a residential treatment center in Utah. He then invited the girls’ parents back to the Dr. Phil show to explore what should be done when the girls completed treatment at the ranch.
After spending three months at Turn-About Ranch, one of the girls had made substantial progress – but it was clear to her therapist and Dr. Phil that she would benefit from continued support and structure. This would offer the girls’ parents more time to learn new skills and create a healthy, structured environment at home.
To continue and build upon the teenage girl’s accomplishments, Dr. Phil highly recommended Copper Canyon Academy all-girls therapeutic boarding school, saying, “(This is a) wonderful facilit(y). (It has) full social calendars, athletics – just unbelievable opportunities for these girls.”
Offering equine therapy, canine therapy and a wide selection of activities such as choir, dance and yoga, Dr. Phil described the therapeutic boarding school as an “incredible opportunity for these girls.”
Under the supervision of caring, highly trained professionals, girls at Copper Canyon Academy work to achieve emotional, mental, physical, spiritual and social growth through a fully accredited, college-prep academic program, individual, group, and family therapy, and an extensive list of complementary programs.
Although it’s never easy for a parent to enroll their child in a therapeutic boarding school, Dr. Phil noted that Copper Canyon Academy has a strong family component and the girl’s parents would be very involved throughout her stay.
Because he wants the girls to be happy, healthy contributing members of society with good family relationships, Dr. Phil strongly recommended that the family accept his offer of help. He said, “I think this is such a wonderful alternative for these two girls.”
