BlueLock Named as TechPoint Mira Awards Program Finalist
Five independent judging panels select cloud computing provider to compete for state’s top technology honors in the Information Technology Gazelle Company category
Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) April 20, 2010
BlueLock, an experienced provider of cloud hosting (http://www. bluelock. com) and managed IT services, announces that five independent panels of judges have chosen BlueLock to compete for the state’s top technology honors — the TechPoint Mira Awards presented by BKD. BlueLock is competing in the Information Technology Gazelle Company category, with winners being announced at the Mira Awards Gala being held Saturday, May 15, at The Westin Indianapolis.
Judges chose from a record number of nominations in 15 categories this year, including the new “Excellence and Innovation in New Media” category. Now in its 11th year, TechPoint’s Mira Awards recognize the achievements of Indiana’s outstanding technology performers and contributors, and focuses attention on the broader issue of the important role technology plays in Indiana’s economy. BlueLock was chosen to compete in the Information Technology Gazelle Company category, which consists of companies that have been in business less than three years from the initial commercialization of its principal product(s) or service(s), and sell information technology products or services, develop hardware or software, network and systems integrators, or are part of MIS departments and vendors.
“More than 1,500 technology companies are operating in the state of Indiana and no other state can reasonably claim to have the leadership positions in new media ‘measured marketing’ or health care IT that we do,” said Jim Jay, president and CEO, TechPoint. “Tech companies based in Indiana realize greater overall business value than those located on the coasts because of our superior tech workforce, educational resources and lower infrastructure costs. I think that’s reflected in receiving a record number of nominations for Mira Awards following the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression.”
Founded three years ago, BlueLock was one of the country’s first providers of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), enabling companies to provision and manage their technology infrastructures more efficiently and cost-effectively. Delivering pre-configured, secure and resilient virtual IT environments which scale on-demand, BlueLock’s CloudSuite offers a tailored selection of IaaS environments to best configure users’ computing resources. With CloudSuite’s array of public and virtual private cloud computing solutions, clients have the ability to utilize cloud resources based on their specific needs to optimize deployment, management and investment. Recently named the 2009 Service Provider of the Year for the Americas by VMware (http://bluelock. com/bluelock-cloud-hosting/bluelock-vcloud-express/), the global leader in virtualization technology solutions, BlueLock offers solutions for the developer to the Fortune 500 executive.
“We are honored to be to be recognized by TechPoint as one of Indiana’s outstanding technology performers and contributors,” said John Qualls, President and CEO, BlueLock. “We believe our inclusion in the list is recognition of BlueLock as an innovator with our CloudSuite offering and further validates our business plan and the market’s need for different classes of managed IT and cloud hosting services.”
The winners will be announced at the Mira Awards Gala being held Saturday, May 15, at The Westin Indianapolis. TechPoint will again honor past Mira Award winners and finalists attending the ceremony with a special “Winner’s Circle” reception.
