AAPC Expands Team, Hires VP of Strategic Development

The American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) has hired Deborah Grider as vice president of strategic development. In her new role, Grider is responsible for strategic initiatives and major projects, beginning with the full development of the AAPC's training and curriculum for the new ICD-10-CM medical coding system.

The American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC, www. aapc. com) has hired Deborah Grider as vice president of strategic development. Grider, an acknowledged health care author and medical coding expert, has more than 25 years of experience in the health care industry.

In her new role, Grider is responsible for strategic initiatives and major projects, beginning with the full development of the AAPC's training and curriculum for the new ICD-10-CM medical coding system.

Prior to joining the AAPC, Grider was president of Deborah Grider & Associates, LLC, an Indiana-based physician-consulting firm. In this role, she worked with physician practices across the country to resolve coding issues and provide education. In her tenure in the health care industry, Grider also worked as an educational services instructor and coding consultant for Clarian Health Partners and as a practice administrator for both the Indiana University School of Medicine and Indianapolis Eye Physicians and Surgeons. Grider holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Indiana University.
