Portland, OR (PRWEB) October 28, 2009

Silkin Management Group (http://www. silkinmanagementgroup. com/about/silkin-management-group. html) just completed its Fall Symposium with tremendous success. Silkin, a leader in Practice Management Consulting for over 25 years, bi-annually presents Symposium Workshops and Management Training courses for clients and their staff. Events are held in the Spring and Fall on the East and West Coast. This year's Fall event was held at the Resort At The Mountain on Mt. Hood, Oregon.

Silkin Management Group (http://www. silkinmanagementgroup. com/about/silkin-management-group. html) has been delivering practice management training and consulting to privately owned health care practices in the US and Canada since 1982. With over 4000 offices delivered to over the years, the bi-annual Symposium and practice management workshops have always proven to be one of the most desired services offered by Silkin.

Silkin surveys doctors throughout the country weekly to find out how practices are doing, what management problems they are experiencing and what areas they want the most help with. With the results of these surveys in mind, Silkin designs its workshops and training to concentrate on the most common areas of practice management difficulties.

This year's Fall Symposium covered a variety of areas designed to help its clients during these difficult economic times. A popular workshops covered the subject "Emotions in the Workplace". This interactive seminar covered in detail how people relate to each other in the workplace. Silkin Management Group has found this information to be vital training for hiring the right personnel, dealing with patients and interacting with staff. Both doctors and staff found the data extremely beneficial.

The next morning Silkin clients and staff attended a Marketing Workshop covering the most effective internal and external marketing techniques. The information included how to survey patients to find out their needs and wants, demographic studies of patient files, how to reactivate past patients, how to ask for referrals, how to put effective brochures and ads together so that they actually produce interest and response and a variety of other cost effective methods to bring new patients into the practice. Silkin Management Group (http://www. silkinmanagementgroup. com/about/silkin-management-group. html) has developed and implemented a large variety of very successful internal and external marketing actions over the many years it has been in business, and these activities were taught in detail to the Symposium attendees.

Next the staff spent the afternoon in Silkin's Working As A Team seminar. This workshop helps staff as they learn how to best interact with each other, increase the efficiency of the office and make the office a fun and pleasant place work in.

The doctors attended a Financial Strategy seminar presented by Mr. Gray Von Adelung, a very successful investment advisor who has helped many of Silkin Management Group's clients take control of their finances and retirement planning.

"These are very tough economic times" said Silkin Management Group's CEO, Fred King. "That is why we bring Mr. Von Adelung to our management Symposium so that he can cover the various topics vital to the financial well being of our clients. We want to make sure our clients know how to properly plan for their future, no matter their age or how long they've been in practice. Despite the economy, the great majority of our clients are growing, not contracting like many others are, and we want to make sure that they take advantage of this by implementing proper financial planning procedures."

The final day included more staff seminars on office efficiency, training for doctors and office managers on how to find, hire and train good staff and a final round table with Silkin's clients, answering common practice management questions, solving problems and sharing successful actions.

Final surveys showed an extremely positive response about the value of the several days' worth of management training from Silkin Management Group (http://www. silkinmanagementgroup. com/about/silkin-management-group. html). It was probably best summed up by this doctor's success:

"I realized today, in looking back at how my practice was run prior to Silkin, that we were not functioning as a group. We all had different or no goals and we were doomed for failure. My staff now works together as a TEAM with common goals and work is no longer work - it is achievement of goals and something we really take pride in." Dr. J. M.
