Established Resident Salon Services Leader Adopts New Name
West Palm Beach, Fla. Â Marvin M. Weinstein, president, Osborne Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that the company has changed its operating name from HealthCare HairServices to Generations Salon Services.
According to Weinstein, the transformation was logical. "As the assisted living industry expanded rapidly in the '90s, providers sought us out, so we naturally expanded our services to meet their needs.
"We learned that since most residents do not identify themselves as being in a health care setting, we decided that we should de-emphasize the health care aspect of our name," Weinstein added.
"In an effort to address the broader needs of all of our clients, regardless which setting they were living in, we decided to change our name to Generations Salon Service, which we believe better describes our unique and very special salon services," Weinstein said.
The new name is the only change. The ownership, management, licensed cosmetologist managers and stylists remain the same, as is the company's commitment to the highest quality and most affordable beauty and grooming services available.
Founded by Weinstein in 1991, the company started by providing professional salon services almost exclusively to nursing homes. As the assisted living market developed, it transitioned to offer its unique services to men and women who also reside in assisted living facilities and retirement communities.
Generations Salon Services currently provides services to more than 25,000 residents each month, at more than 300 facilities in 10 states -- making it one of the largest resident salon services providers of its kind in the nation.
Prior to founding Osborne Associates Inc., Weinstein was president of Williams Financial Group, a merger and acquisition company and the chief financial officer of Safeguard Business Systems Inc., a NYSE company that manufactures accounting systems for small businesses.
Diane Recchia is a licensed Florida cosmetologist and has been with Generations Salon Services for more than six years. She has always worked with seniors, even when she had her own salon. "I like working with seniors and making them feel like they are important. Our biggest challenge is working with seniors with AlzheimerÂs or dementia -- they are special people who need special care," Recchia said.
And, I have to say that I enjoy working for Generations Salon Services, they really treat people well," Recchia declared.
According to Weinstein, every business should have a "driving force" around which decisions are tested and made. "When I founded Osborne Associates, I decided the resident should be my companyÂs driving force and all decisions should revolve around what's in the resident's best interest," Weinstein said.
"We would not be able to realize this vision without the friendly, compassionate and experienced stylists who are patient, respectful and understand the needs of each customer and relate well to seniors," he concluded.
