From One Charity to Another: Grassroots. org and GNIF Team Up

The Global Neuroscience Initiative Foundation directed by Shaheen Lakhan seeks to join the intra-charity helping train to offer free scientific consultation worldwide.

Make change! That is the motto of Grassroots. org, a registered charity that is uniquely aiding other nonprofit organizations successfully operate in the digital and World Wide Web environment. They not only supply website hosting and basic design services, but also have embarked on a much needed service, nonprofit legal aid. With the complications of federal and state statutes, applications, exemptions, licenses, and what not, free legal aid can significantly benefit other nonprofit organizations.

Alon Nager, General Counsel of Grassroots. org, Inc., is committed to spreading goodwill by assisting nonprofit organizations with legal, accounting and technology-related issues at no charge. A graduate of University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Nager was formerly employed by the general counsel of a major university and has experience in many areas of law, such as corporate, bankruptcy, real estate, health, contract and insurance.

The Global Neuroscience Initiative Foundation (http://gnif. org (http://gnif. org)) was recently awarded a plethora of free services from Grassroots. org. GNIF Director Shaheen Lakhan said "Oftentimes, the charitable ideas and projects of compassionate and good-willed individuals do not materialize because of the complexities of nonprofit-charity law. Grassroots. org's complimentary legal services namely by Nager are instrumental to GNIF in adhering to nonprofit codes, while focusing on our true mission: the advancement of neurological and mental health patient welfare, education, and research."

Lakhan further commented that the GNIF Board of Directors and Board of Advisors are establishing programs in the field of scientific expertise to freely aid other nonprofit organizations, as does Grassroots. org to GNIF. Free resources are not new for Lakhan's nonprofit, for they have offered membership and distributed health promotion and awareness materials, anti-stigmatizations reports, neuroscience applications and Flash programs, and an array of distance education courses without charge.

Both organizations, Grassroots. org and GNIF, strive to help their fellow community, the nonprofit world. It is refreshing to see to lawyers offering their valuable services complimentary to well-intentioned charities.
