Somerset Christian College (SCC) today announced that former NY Jets Offensive Guard Dave Szott will participate in its fourth annual New Jersey Bike Trek, October 23-25, at the schoolÂs campus in Zarephath, NJ. This year, fifty percent of the proceeds from the event will benefit Wheels for the World, which provides wheelchairs for the disabled in over 60 countries around the globe.
The NJ Trek is a three-day cycling challenge, with options for everyone from recreational cyclists to seasoned pros. The routes will begin and end at the SCC campus, taking riders through various parts of scenic New Jersey. A new addition to the event this year is a special Family Day on Saturday, October 23, offering a series of family-friendly bike outings. Dave Szott will participate in a 10-mile family bike ride at 11 AM with his son, Shane, who is physically challenged, to show his support for Wheels for the World.
The family rides will culminate with a "Kickin' Fall into Gear Festival" at the campus from 11 AM - 4 PM (rain or shine), held in partnership with contemporary Christian radio station Star 99.1 FM, with food, hayrides, music, pony rides, games, vendors, and more.

ABOUT WHEELS FOR THE WORLD
Wheels for the World is an outreach program of Joni and Friends, a Christian ministry dedicated to the disability community. The World Health Organization estimates that there is a need of over 18 million wheelchairs around the world. In some countries, the cost of a wheelchair can equal a year's wages, making it impossible for people affected by disability to ever receive one. Wheels for the World aims to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the disabled around the world by providing wheelchairs to those in need, and by connecting the disabled with the church.
