Arxan Joins ArcSight CEF Program to Provide Greater Control over Application Security via Real-Time Tampering Alerts
Immediate notification will reduce the threat 'window of opportunity' and improve visibility into health and safety of applications
San Francisco (PRWEB) April 21, 2009
(RSA Conference Booth #358) Arxan Technologies®, a leading provider of application hardening solutions designed to protect software applications from tampering to minimize risk and maximize profitability, announced today it has joined the ArcSight Common Event Format (CEF) program to provide a new weapon in the battle to secure enterprise applications -- real-time tampering alerts.
ArcSight (NASDAQ: ARST) is a leading global provider of compliance and security management solutions that protect enterprises and government agencies.
Arxan's technology protects running applications via real-time security checks and tampering alerts. Utilizing CEF, Arxan is expected to detect threats that arise within the application layer, and dynamically report these events via real-time alerts to the ArcSight Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platform. This will provide detection and immediate notification of external or internal attempts to tamper (http://www. arxan. com/software-protection-solutions/enterprise-software-security/fortify-against-malware. php) with software assets or steal intellectual property.
By receiving notification alerts directly via the SIEM platform, enterprises will be able to respond immediately to thwart tampering attempts. Arxan's GuardIT® (http://www. arxan. com/software-protection-products/) solution allows enterprise applications to defend, detect, alert and react to attempted breaches. The policy-based Guard reaction framework allows customers to select how Guard-enabled applications can detect and react at run-time.
The ArcSight SIEM Platform provides both historical analysis and real-time event correlation that enable businesses and government agencies to reduce risk and increase visibility across their IT infrastructure. Arxan's participation in ArcSight's CEF program will enable IT managers to extend their reach into the application by incorporating event logs from the Arxan GuardIT integration.
"Arxan is a significant addition to the Arcsight partner program. By providing an application-specific view into security, their approach complements and broadens the overall view of the enterprise to help companies better manage the security of data and applications," said Jeff Scheel, senior vice president of business development at ArcSight. "The ability to provide our customers greater visibility into the integrity of their applications with detailed, real-time reporting will further extend the broad utility of the ArcSight Security Information and Event Management platform."
"When it comes to preventing software tampering or theft, immediate response is an absolute requirement," said Mike Dager, chief executive officer of Arxan. "Real-time alerts will enable enterprises to have greater confidence in the security of their applications by allowing them to immediately respond to potential threats and protect their valuable data assets. Our partnership will provide ArcSight with an expanded view into the application software layer, delivering increased application security visibility and awareness."
