AHC to Discuss Reimbursement Solutions for Uninsured Patient Care at the 2006 AAHAM ANI

AHC Healthcare Receivables Management Company will address how healthcare providers can successfully increase their reimbursement for uninsured patient care at this year’s American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management Annual National Institute (AAHAM ANI) in Scottsdale, AZ. Educational topics include patient enrollment options, bad debt collection practices, front-end patient processing, and more.

Manassas, VA (PRWEB) August 1, 2006

Healthcare reimbursement experts Michael Berger and Stacy Smith will discuss the solutions hospitals and health systems can implement to meet their financial goals when providing care to uninsured patients. Their seminar, The Uninsured: A Growing Cost to Hospitals, will be presented to attendees at the 2006 AAHAM ANI. This event will be held in Scottsdale, Arizona, October 25-27 and will be attended by nearly 500 of healthcare’s top financial and reimbursement professionals.

Workshop attendees will receive education on accounts receivable issues specific to self-pay patients, including tips on avoiding the pitfalls of uncollectible accounts and how to improve insurance eligibility. The impact of class action litigation on a facility’s image will also be a focus.

"AHC, through its nationwide network of clients and firm-wide experienced consultants and attorneys, is well versed in the struggles that the industry is having with the growing number of uninsured patients and their quest to maximize the available reimbursement dollars,” states Executive Director Michael Berger. “Thus, our presentation will provide the attendees with unique insights into the problem and an array of practical strategies that they can utilize at their respective organizations. Additionally, we will discuss the nation-wide litigation being brought by the uninsured population and provide compliance-based strategies to reduce the potential risk of litigation to their organization.”

In 2005, AHC maintained their educational commitment to the healthcare industry by conducting almost 200 healthcare reimbursement workshops. Parties interested in learning more about a complimentary on-site workshop for their hospital business office may contact AHC at (888)511-7901 or at www. ahcinc. com.
