As Physical Education Programs Diminish, Nationally Recognized Training Team Prepares to Wipe Out Childhood Obesity
Two trainers team to offer the FamilyFitPlan. com, a training program involving no equipment and offering a balanced workout.

As childhood obesity escalates, schools continue to cut physical activity from the curriculum. Not too long ago, you could not get a high school diploma unless you passed Physical Education. Today, PE is not only no longer mandatory, in many cases it is no longer even offered in schools.
According to Jonathan Ross of www. FamilyFitPlan. com, “The government constantly tells us that everyone should exercise 30-60 minutes a day, and throws out more and more statistics showing the growing number of children that are obese and have diabetes. And yet, they fail to make PE classes mandatory.”
Ross, an award-winning personal trainer, is on a mission. After losing his father to obesity-related health problems, he became impassioned to truly help America get fit.
Ross linked up with Florida-based fitness expert Doug Jackson and they created www. FamilyFitPlan. com, an approach to exercise that will revolutionize the fitness of American families to get them moving and have fun - together.
These workouts require no equipment, can be done indoors or outdoors, with limited time, and provide a framework for any family to find fitness success through a flexible, balanced workout. This plan overcomes all of the common obstacles to fitness and uses the family members themselves as the equipment for the workout.
Jackson says that with the hectic schedule of modern life, the government’s recommended health and fitness guidelines have been unsuccessful. According to Jackson, “Fitness must become a habit; and for people to stick with it for the long term, it needs to be fun, or at least not boring.”
Ross and Jackson provide a free “getting started” guide at www. FamilyFitPlan. com and while they are dismayed that schools continue to cut funding and scheduling of PE activities, they are hopeful that their message that families can get fit together will make a difference in the physical fitness of children and adults.
