Cascade Living Group Launches 'EverFit Club' Health Program for Seniors
Responding to the growing demands of seniors for health and wellness programs that can enhance quality of life, Cascade Living Group, a regional provider of retirement living and health services, has launched its "EverFit Club" health program at its five senior living communities in Washington, California and Nevada.

Responding to the growing demands of seniors for health and wellness programs that can enhance quality of life, Cascade Living Group, a regional provider of retirement living and health services, has launched its "EverFit Club" health program at its five senior living communities in Washington, California and Nevada.
The EverFit Club exercise and wellness program includes a series of classes and wellness programs that target maintaining a healthy heart and fitness levels geared to improving strength and balance, critical issues for keeping seniors active and healthy.
The EverFit Club includes low-impact cardio classes, weightlifting, water aerobics, Tai Chi classes developed specifically for seniors, walking groups and a unique brain fitness program.
In addition, the EverFit Club includes fitness consultations, resident-specific exercise plans and a variety of exercise classes. As part of this new program, Cascade Living Group has installed state-of-the-art fitness equipment its Kent, Wash. and Spanish Springs, Nev. locations to meet all levels of rehabilitation and fitness needs. Health care and fitness experts will guide the EverFit Club at each location.
Wellness programs that will be incorporated at each community include healthy meal options, nutritional tips and ongoing resident educational program for common issues such as diabetes, eye care and medicine management.
The program was the brainchild of Cascade Living Group founders Dale Zulauf, Bill Shorten, Clark Claypool and Tom Stanley, who made an active lifestyle high on the list of priorities of services to offer residents when they formed Cascade Living Group in 2005.
"Since we are focused on seniors living in the western portion of the United States, where there is an emphasis on outdoor, active living, this was just a natural fit," Stanley said.
"We are off to a running start," said Casey Shorten, fitness director. Shorten oversaw implementation of the EverFit Club for Cascade Living Group. "We are doing water aerobics, personal training and helping with initial fitness consultations. We want to encourage residents to get up and move."
