Global Network Strengthens Law Firm Presence in New York Metropolitan Area

Three of the New York Metropolitan Area's largest independent law firms have joined MSI Legal & Accounting Network Worldwide (MSI).

(PRWEB) September 26, 2005

PRWEB) September 21, 2005 -- Global professional services network MSI has appointed three law firm members in the New York Metropolitan Area.

Moses & Singer LLP, is a full-service New York City law firm, with specialty practices in banking, letter of credit and trade finance, intellectual property, international asset protection, tax, M&A and corporate securities, real estate, litigation, bankruptcy, privacy and healthcare law. They have provided their clients, which include major international banks, US-based subsidiaries of multi-national corporations, middle-market businesses, accounting and other personal service firms and wealthy families and individuals, with creative, cost-effective and results-focused legal services since 1918. Their clients are involved in the finance, manufacturing, energy, entertainment, advertising, media, technology, importing, real estate, hospitality and healthcare industries, among others.

Of its decision to join MSI, Alan Kolod, Chairman of the firm, says: “Membership in a network of professional firms worldwide will assist us in competing with larger, multi-office firms in our market and enable us to provide better service to our clients with operations outside of the New York area.”

MSI has further consolidated its presence in the New York region by appointing Long IslandÂ’s pre-eminent law firm Ruskin Moscou Faltischek P. C. Founded in 1968, the 60-attorney full service firm services a diverse and sophisticated clientele and has built cornerstone groups in all major practice areas of law, with a specific focus on corporate and securities, healthcare, banking and finance, litigation and real estate.

The firm enjoys a unique position in the suburban marketplace, having grown with the region as it has matured and developed. “The firm, a provider of high-caliber legal services, is situated at the geographic crossroads of a thriving metropolitan area,” noted Co-Managing Partner Michael Faltischek.

Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP, a New Jersey based 100-attorney, full-service law firm with offices in Woodbridge and Roseland, has also joined MSI. Founded in 1914, the firm provides a full spectrum of litigation and transactional services to diverse businesses ranging from Fortune 500 to medium sized companies, municipalities and public agencies in the state, and to individuals.

James Hickey, MSI’s Development Manager, comments: “All three firms fit our network culture perfectly being locally-focused firms that position themselves as alternatives to the large, multi office law firms. These are firms that believe in providing value and results by ensuring clients receive partner-level attention. This is what MSI is all about.“

These exciting developments follow the recent decision that New Jersey based law firm, McCarter & English, LLP (M&E), would be leaving the network at the end of September. The mutual decision reflects a gradual divergence in the direction being taken by the two organizations as they pursue their own strategies. M&E has continued to grow its number of lawyers and continue its strategy of expanding the number of its geographic locations, a strategy that does not match MSIÂ’s own objective of building a network of local firms that focus on one specific geographic market.

Earlier in 2005, two accounting firms, Prager and Fenton LLP and Giambalvo Kilgannon & Giammarese, also joined MSI in the New York Metropolitan Area, providing the clients of member firms doing business in the region with a comprehensive ‘one stop shop’ for legal, accounting, tax and consultancy services.

These appointments increase the number of MSI member firms to 53 in the United States, and 2,000 professional fee earning staff members.
