Eco-Friendly Ecover Receives High Marks From Consumer Reports

Long Beach, CA (Vocus) January 9, 2008

Ecover (http://www. ecover. com), Belgium-based manufacturers of ecological detergents and cleansing agents, has garnered high marks from product testers in the January 2008 issue of Consumer Reports. Ecover's Ecological Dishwashing Liquid ranked in the top eleventh percentile beating out several leading national brands.

Trusted by millions of consumers as the source to turn to for unbiased product rankings and comparisons, the independent, non-profit, Consumer Reports, has thrice scored Ecover dishwashing products (http://www. ecover. com) in the top three for effective cleaning and the prevention of redeposit. In the January 2008 issue of Consumer Reports, the magazine applauds Ecover's performance and price point, ranking it a close second only to Dawn.

In September 2006 Consumer Reports ranked Ecover Automatic Dishwashing Powder number one in performance placing it above Palmolive and Costco's Kirkland Signature. Ecover's Dishwashing Tablets tied America's Choice for second place in the May 2006 issue.

"We feel honored to have earned the attention of product testers at Consumer Reports," said Kipling Rutherford, Ecover Marketing Assistant. "We feel confident in our products ability to stand up to any test on quality and effectiveness."

Phosphate-free, and made from renewable plant and mineral-based cleaning agents, Ecover Ecological Dishwashing Liquid ranked "excellent" in food removal and grease cutting, the two categories tested by Consumer Reports.

"Ecover products were designed with the world's waterways in mind. The absence of phosphates and other harmful additives in our cleansers, means our products have the least impact on aquatic environments and are 100% safe for use with grey watering systems," added Dirk Develter, Head of Research & Development for Ecover.

In semi-arid and desert climates, where water is especially scarce, and drought is common, grey watering is essential in keeping plant life healthy. After using Ecover laundry or dishwashing detergent, one can save the wastewater, let stand 3 -5 days, and then use that to water their plants, gardens and grass.

Ecover uses only raw materials that are fully degradable in oxygen-poor conditions and ensures that the entire product is fully degradable, with nothing left except minerals. That means all the ingredients are decomposed, not just the detergents, and decomposition occurs under oxygen-rich (aerobic) conditions as well as oxygen-poor (anaerobic) conditions.

For over 25 years, Ecover has been producing products that adhere strictly to the World Health Organization's definition of heath, which incorporates the wellbeing of the whole
Person - both mental and physical - and the environment in which they live. Ecover is constantly innovating and pushing boundaries to create new and more effective products that have minimum negative impact on the environment, and consistently achieves extraordinary ethical standards with its products, management and production methods.
