Steps Every Woman Must Take to Prevent Breast Cancer from the Natural Hormone Institute

Lowering Estrogen Dominance is Key to Decreasing Risk

Jacksonville, FL (Vocus) October 22, 2009

The Natural Hormone Institute (http://www. hormonewell. com/), founded in 2002 to naturally treat women and men suffering from hormone imbalances, has organized six critical steps every woman must take to decrease their risk of breast cancer. Each step is designed to keep breast tissue healthy by eliminating estrogen dominance, a medical condition that occurs when the body's progesterone levels decline thus creating estrogen dominance. Elevated levels of estrogen are a well-known driver of cancerous causes in breast tissue.

"Decline in progesterone levels is a result of an age-related shift in hormone production, but can be exacerbated by weight gain and stress," says C. W. Randolph, Jr., M. D. (http://hormonewell. com/html/OurFounders. html), board-certified gynecologist and medical director of the Natural Hormone Institute. "Estrogen dominance begins for most women in their early to mid 30's continuing until the menopausal years. An untreated condition of estrogen dominance leads to a significantly increased risk of breast cancer."

Eliminating, or neutralizing, estrogen dominance can prevent breast cancer and Dr. Randolph's clinical data substantiates this. "In the past decade, I have treated tens of thousands of women suffering from estrogen dominance. Of my patients, only two cases of breast cancer have been reported. My clinical data validates the value of the proactive breast care steps I recommend to all the women I treat, ; especially considering recent statistics state that one out of 35 American women will die of breast cancer (http://www. cancer. org/docroot/CRI/content/CRI_2_2_1X_How_many_people_get_breast_cancer_5.asp)."

The six steps to naturally lower estrogen dominance and decrease the risk of breast cancer are:
1. Use bioidentical progesterone
2. Exercise regularly
3. Eat foods that help eliminate extra estrogen through the bowel
4. Take natural supplements proven to promote estrogen detoxification
5. Decrease stress levels
6. Go green

Step One: Use bioidentical progesterone. Progesterone is the key to turn back the clock on aging ovaries and reduce the risk of breast cancer. As a woman ages, her progesterone levels significantly decline, resulting in estrogen dominance.

"You can safely and naturally replace the progesterone your body is sorely missing with bioidentical progesterone," explains Dr. Randolph. "Bioidentical means the molecular structure of the progesterone you introduce back into your system is exactly the same molecular structure as the progesterone your ovaries used to produce. At a cellular level, your body recognizes, receives and positively responds."

When elevated levels of estrogen are neutralized with bioidentical progesterone, breast cells are no longer affected by too much estrogen and a causative factor for breast cancer is held in check.

Step Two: Exercise regularly. Regular exercise, five days a week for at least 30 minutes, has been shown to decrease estrogen levels by 13 percent if conducted consistently for 12 months, according to the Journal of National Cancer Institute and Cancer Epidemiol Biomarkers Preview (http://www. cancer. gov/cancertopics/factsheet/nci/jnci).

Step Three: Eat foods that help eliminate extra estrogen through the bowel. Eating to prevent breast cancer begins by eliminating belly fat and avoiding high-fat meats, French fries, creamy salad dressings, butter and simple carbohydrates. Increased fatty tissue on the body produces excess estrogen. Certain foods - such as whole grains, flaxseed, flaxseed oil and sesame seeds - help move an overabundance of estrogen out through the bowel. Excess estrogen can also be converted into healthier metabolites by eating foods including broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, cabbage and citrus fruits.

Step Four: Take natural supplements proven to promote estrogen detoxification. A combination of natural supplements is essential in influencing healthy estrogen metabolism. The following supplements are recommended to promote a healthy balance of estrogen and progesterone: Calcium D-Glucarate, Diindolymethane (DIM, Vitamin D, Iodine, the B Vitamins, Vitamin E, and 7-Keto Dehyroepiandrosterone (DHEA).

Specifically, Calcium D-Glucarate facilitates the detoxification process by inhibiting the re-absorption of estrogen-like toxins into the bloodstream, allowing them to be excreted by the body. Vitamin D decreases the risk of breast cancer by blocking signals that can stimulate cancer cell growth.

Step Five: Decrease Stress Levels. There is a lock-step relationship between a woman's stress levels and her risk of breast cancer, according to the European Cancer Organization (http://www. eurekalert. org/pub_releases/2003-09/foec-ssi092103.php).

"Stress can be reduced at both the cellular level and the physical level," says Dr. Randolph. "Eating well, getting enough sleep and breathing more deeply can lower stress. Research has found that happiness and optimism are also associated with lower rates of breast cancer."

Step Six: Go Green. Living in an industrialized nation, such as the United States, women and men are often exposed to an increased level of foreign hormones, called xenohormones, which are chemicals that can be found in items such as plastic polycarbonate bottles.

Exposure to foreign hormones can be decreased with simple "green" changes, such as eating organic foods, drinking filtered water, throwing away all pesticides and herbicides and not microwaving food in plastic containers.

To go along with these steps, Dr. Randolph also recommends eliminating synthetic hormones, such as the birth control pill, from a woman's every day routine. Birth control pills contribute to the development or worsening of estrogen dominance and to an increased risk of breast cancer.
