(PRWEB) March 7, 2003

SANTA CLARA, Calif., and CHANTILLY, Va., -- March 5, 2003 -- OpSource, Inc., a next-generation IT infrastructure services company, announced it has acquired the Managed Services Group of EYT, Inc. (originally formed as Ernst & Young Technologies) one of the top five Microsoft Business Solutions Partners in the country. With this announcement, OpSource will increase its managed services customer base, strengthen its business operations in the mid-Atlantic region and create a strategic alliance with one of the leading business solution integrators. For EYT, this acquisition furthers efforts to align business operations with the companyÂ’s mission to become the premier provider of Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) and Services to the mid-market.

Under the terms of the agreement and effective immediately, OpSource will assume full responsibility for EYTÂ’s existing managed services customers as well as EYTÂ’s corporate Internet infrastructure www. eyt. com. OpSource will provide 24x7 customer care, hosting, bandwidth provisioning, security, and database and application management services to EYTÂ’s managed services customers, which include automotive, higher education, financial services, and healthcare organizations. The two companies expect the transition to be completely transparent to the customers.

“As our business priorities evolved, we knew that a company focused solely on providing managed services with experience taking over complex IT infrastructure operations was the right solution to fulfill our commitment to our managed services customers,” said Barry Culman, president and CEO of EYT. “OpSource is a well-funded private company with experienced senior management, established tools and best practices which has led well-known Fortune 500 companies to select them for IT infrastructure services. They are the best choice for delivering the high quality services our customers have come to expect.”

“We are pleased with the opportunity to provide the managed services these companies require and look forward to proving the value a company 100% focused on delivering operational excellence of IT infrastructure services can provide,” said Treb Ryan, CEO and co-founder of OpSource.

Acquisition Strategy Key to Delivering Value in TodayÂ’s Challenging Economy

In today's economic environment, some of the best opportunities to create value for customers, employees and shareholders are through the consolidation of services assets. In addition to EYTÂ’s Managed Services Group, OpSource acquired Accelica, a leading managed services provider (MSP) based in California, in November 2002. In just six months time, through two acquisitions and organic sales efforts, the company has grown to 27 customers, more than 55 employees, and operations in four U. S. metropolitan markets.

“Anticipating that a merger and acquisition strategy would be important to our growth in today’s market, we built a technology infrastructure optimized to facilitate and manage integration of new technologies, front-office and back-office systems, and, most importantly, maximize the efficiency of our personnel,” said OpSource CEO Ryan. “As a result, we are well positioned to grow our business through acquisitions, without sacrificing quality.”
