What is Whole Brain Thinking?
Thinking with the whole brain is based on Roger Sperry’s Nobel Prize-winning research on the nature and processes of the human brain. Sperry found that the brain consists of two halves, or hemispheres, each controlling the movement and vision on the opposite side of the body.

The left and right brain hemispheres can be divided into two categories, separating the brain into four quadrants, two on the left (L1 & L2) and two on the right (R1 & R2). These four quadrants are further divided into eight dimensions of the brain.

Left brain (L1 & L2) thinkers tend to be more logical and analytical, while right brain (R1 & R2) thinkers are more intuitive and adventurous. The two dimensions identified within the L1 quadrant are the Realist, who prefers clarity of thinking, exactness and thoroughness, and the Analyst who wants to discover the essence of things and dig deeper. In the L2 quadrant, there is the Stalwart, who prefers traditional approaches and appreciates rules and regulations, and the Organizer, who prefers to plan, to sort out and classify. The two dimensions of the R2 quadrant are comprised of the Socializer/Networker, who likes to network and meet people, and the Empathizer, who likes to assist and reach out to others. Lastly in the R1 quadrant we find the Strategist, who predicts and strategizes, and the Fantasizer/Imaginer, who thinks in pictures and imagines impossible ideas.

Achieving a deeper understanding of the 8 dimensions of the brain allows us to produce 8 times more ideas, be 8 times more creative, and generate 8 times more productivity. Imagine the potential of a person who is able to understand, communicate and teach using all 8 dimensions of the brain.

By learning the nuances of each brain type, we can better understand, serve and respond to the needs of people, even if their thinking style is quite different than our own. Professionals can learn to better communicate with customers. Educators can adapt to better reach students from all walks of life. Marketing companies can learn how to adapt advertising campaigns to more effectively reach valuable target markets. Virtually every professional can benefit from thinking with the whole brain, by utilizing all 8 dimensions of the human brain.

8-Dimensional, whole brain thinking allows us to more comprehensively address leadership, management, supervision, and employee challenges. By understanding the 8 different brain dimensions, leaders are able to more effectively reach, lead and inspire greater numbers of people.

8-Dimensional thinking is valuable in helping businesses and individuals to better understand, predict, position and augment overall business success. “Learning to think with your whole brain will transform the way you live,” says Kobus Neethling. It is the ultimate gift of understanding, creating opportunity and opening doors to more meaningful personal and professional relationships, better career opportunities, and a sense of happiness that can only come from a profound connection with yourself and others.”

Personal thinking preferences influence communication, decision-making, problem solving and management styles. During the intensive 3-day Whole Brain Training seminar, Dr. Neethling will demonstrate how 8-Dimensional, whole brain thinking can boost one's competitive edge and provide an advantage in life…regardless of one's profession!

Equipped with the knowledge of one's thinking preferences, and an understanding of others, the workplace can become a place where people do what they enjoy most and are encouraged to accept and understand differences. Whole brain thinking has the power to create opportunities for everyone to reach their full potential.
