The Abbotsford campus of CDI College is now accepting applications for the Event Coordinator and Management diploma program. Classes begin in January 2011, and offer residents of the Fraser Valley a new training option for a career in event planning.

The Event Coordinator and Management diploma program is designed to give students the necessary tools to become successful project-planners, event managers, corporate event planners or even wedding planners. Course material covers budget management, contract negotiations, employee and volunteer supervision, and the ability to run an event smoothly from start to finish.

“Graduates of this program will be prepared to write key industry-recognized certification exams and will be prepared for employment as an event planning coordinator or for self-employment career opportunities,” says Bohdan Bilan, VP of Academics for CDI College.

The Event Coordinator and Management diploma program has been quite successful at CDI College campuses in Vancouver and Richmond, with students participating in events like a Farm Folk/City Folk fundraiser and an upcoming Bowl-a-Thon to raise awareness about mental health.
