Comprehensive Health Education Foundation Elects H. Teresa Buckland as New Board Chair

Comprehensive Health Education Foundation (C. H.E. F.®), one of the nation’s leading health and prevention education organizations, announced today that it has elected H. Teresa “Trez” Buckland to Chair its Board of Directors. Employed by the University of Washington as a program coordinator in the School of Nursing, an instructor for online courses in the department of Educational Outreach, and a clinical instructor in the School of Public Health, Buckland brings her experience and training as an educator to the C. H.E. F. Board Chair position.

Comprehensive Health Education Foundation (C. H.E. F.®), one of the nation’s leading health and prevention education organizations, announced today that it has elected H. Teresa “Trez” Buckland to Chair its Board of Directors. Employed by the University of Washington as a program coordinator in the School of Nursing, an instructor for online courses in the department of Educational Outreach, and a clinical instructor in the School of Public Health, Buckland brings her experience and training as an educator to the C. H.E. F. Board Chair position. 

According to Larry Clark, President and Chief Executive Officer of C. H.E. F., “Trez has made tremendous contributions to C. H.E. F. since joining our board in May 2000, and we’re delighted to announce her appointment to Board Chair through May 2007. Previously, Buckland served as an adjunct professor at Central Washington University and Antioch University, and also taught high school health, middle school science and health, and worked as a science department head responsible for developing curricula. Trez has earned numerous honors and awards for her work, including the C. H.E. F. Experienced Health Educator Fellowship for Washington, the Governor’s Golden Apple Award, three grants for innovative program design in the area of wellness, plus Volunteer of the Year awards from the Washington Association for Biomedical Research, Washington State Family and Consumer Sciences, and National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. Trez holds a master’s degree in education and a bachelor of arts degree in health education.
