Roberto Cavalli Rocks the Runway to Make Dreams Come True

The ‘First Ladies of the Dream Foundation’ tribute luncheon and fashion show honors local and national individuals. It will have a special appearance by Dream Foundation Ambassador Priscilla Presley.

Santa Barbara, CA., (PRWEB) October 16, 2005

On Thursday, Nov. 10, Dream Foundation will host its Fourth Annual “First Ladies of the Dream Foundation” event, a tribute luncheon and fashion show, at the glamorous Bacara Resort & Spa, from 11 am to 2 pm. Celebrity designer Roberto Cavalli’s wildly imaginative fashions will hit the runway at this year’s highly anticipated event, and Dream Foundation Ambassador Priscilla Presley will make a special appearance.

The purpose of this special occasion is to acknowledge a distinguished group of individuals who have been Dream Foundation supporters since its beginning. In the past, the First Ladies of the Dream Foundation event has honored those women who have played an integral role in the organization's growth and progress. This year, the First Ladies will honor those who have demonstrated their leadership, dedication, and generosity to Dream Foundation’s mission of making dreams come true for terminally ill adults and their families.

Special honors will also be presented including: Outstanding Dream Volunteer to the Himovitz Family; Flower Empower Award to the Van Wingerden Family; National Corporate Sponsor Award to Harman Kardon; Business Dream Sponsor Award to Steven E. Shulem of Strictly Vacations; 2005 Foundation Award to Odyssey Healthcare Foundation; Dream Advocates Award to the Lutz Family, Martin Brown of Kalyra Winery, and Tim Hanlon of Wells Fargo Foundation; Dream Captain Award to Debbie Boulerice; Frequent Flyer Angel Award to Donna Hartman of Alaska Airlines; Dream Board Member Award to A. J. Rice; Legacy of Dreams Award to Craig Donahue; Founder’s Award to Holly Murphy; and Outstanding Celebrity Spokesperson Awards to Brad Garrett, Jennifer Tilly, and Connie Stevens.

With celebrity devotees including Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce Knowles, Sharon Stone, Lenny Kravitz, Sting, Bono and Steven Tyler, Roberto Cavalli is counted among the most well-known international designers. The ‘provocative’ theme has always been an inspiration for much of his work – mixing suggestive animal prints, sexy silhouettes and luxurious embellishments. Highlights from Cavalli’s Resort collection will be shown.

The First Ladies of the Dream Foundation event is presented by C Magazine, California’s first lifestyle magazine premiering in September from the co-founder of W and the publisher of Santa Barbara Magazine. Event sponsors include Odyssey Healthcare, Roberto Cavalli, Bacara Resort and Spa, Too Faced Cosmetics, Walter Claudio Salon, Pale Blue Hanky, Harman Kardon, Dan & Debbie Kass, Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians, Global Brand Marketing, Inc., Kenny & Elizabeth Slaught, Investec, Stephen & Angie Redding, Mark & Lynda Schwartz, Diana MacFarlane, Countrywide Home Loans, Doreen & Joel Ladin, and The Montgomery Family Foundation.

Dream Foundation is the first and largest national organization granting final wishes to terminally ill adults over the age of 18 who have a life expectancy of six months or less. Now in its 11th year, Dream Foundation has granted over 3,800 dreams to adults nationwide who are emotionally, financially and physically devastated by terminal illness.
