New Wave of Technology Opens Doors to Celiac Sufferers Worldwide

New Wave of Technology Opens Doors to Celiac Sufferers Worldwide

Somewhat unintentionally, the iPad and the iPhone are changing the way in which celiac sufferers cook by providing increased accessibility to an abundance of gluten-free recipes. By cooking in tandem with the intentions of Mother Nature, celiac sufferers need never worry about accidently consuming gluten or being short of something delicious to cook again.

(PRWEB) August 10, 2010

In the US alone more than 2 million people suffer from celiac disease, and as many as 1 in 22 people are thought to be undiagnosed. This escalating figure has increased the demand for instant, gluten-free recipes at the touch of a button, and this demand is being met by a somewhat unwitting source. The iPad, and indeed the iPhone, are providing an unintended aid for celiac sufferers worldwide who require daily access to gluten-free meals.

Previously the avoidance of gluten based foods has proved very challenging for celiac sufferers and those with gluten sensitivity. However, the emergence of the iPad has revolutionized the way recipes are accessed in the kitchen and a growing number of celiac sufferers are turning to PDF cookbooks for practical, healthy meal time solutions.

Amidst the plethora of diets and eating guides available on the market there is one diet in particular that appeals greatly to celiac sufferers. The paleo diet, popularly referred to as ‘the caveman diet’, is a way of eating that best mimics the diet of our hunter-gatherer ancestors. Lean meats, seafood, vegetables, fruits, and nuts combine to provide the body with every nutrient required for optimum health. The paleo diet appeals to celiac sufferers because it not only avoids gluten but because it offers immense health benefits. Author of the Paleo Cookbooks, Nikki Young explains, “The paleo diet is strictly gluten-free, and not just perfect for those with celiac disease, but also those looking to take their health one step further. Eliminating gluten is one thing - and a great achievement at that - but to truly create peak body performance and live a long and healthy life you need to start listening to Mother Nature, and that means providing the body with the nutritionally rich foods it thrives for everyday.”

The paleo diet not only excludes gluten, but all grains, including non-gluten grains. The paleo diet implements the diet nature intended us to follow, not the artificially adapted modern day diet that is consistently cited for causing health problems such as obesity, heart disease and diabetes.

Cooking is a pleasurable and rewarding experience, but for celiac sufferers there is always the worry of ensuring that meals are gluten-free. However, PDF cookbooks such as the Paleo Cookbooks allow celiac sufferers to cook worry-free and access recipes via their iPad or iPhone in any kitchen at any time. The Paleo Cookbooks contain over 300 gluten-free recipes catering for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. There is even a range of desserts for those worried about satisfying their sweet tooth.

PDF cookbooks rival traditional cookbooks in that they are also capable of including full artwork and step by step instructions. In addition to this, the iPad and iPhone both offer further benefits to the user by allowing fast page scrolling and cookbook downloading on demand.

Searching for gluten-free meals is no longer a hassle, and even for those without celiac disease a gluten-free diet is becoming a popular lifestyle choice, as Nikki Young observes, "A lot of people are following a paleo diet and being cautious in avoiding foods such as gluten, because they know of the harmful effects that can take place in the body, and the simply do not want to wait until their health has been sacrificed before they decide to make positive changes in the way they eat."

With the iPad and iPhone providing extensive, instant access to recipes from sources such as the Paleo Cookbooks, it seems nonsensical that people would continue to eat unhealthy and avoid foods naturally designed for our digestive system and our health.

Home-based business expert Vickie Milazzo, who is also an "Inc." Top 10 Entrepreneur says: “It’s not too late for mid-life women to make a 180-degree difference in their lives."

HOUSTON, TX (PRWEB) February 22, 2006

Home-based business expert Vickie Milazzo, RN, MSN, JD, the Houston businesswoman who revolutionized the nursing profession for tens of thousands of traditional hospital RNs by teaching them how to be highly paid home-based business women, says her lessons can also work for other women and shows how in her newly released book, "Inside Every Woman: Using the 10 Strengths You Didn’t Know You Had to Get the Career and Life You Want Now."

Milazzo says her book is aimed at women of all ages who are frustrated with their careers and personal lives. “Deep down inside,” she says, “every woman possesses what she needs to succeed.” Milazzo outlines proven success strategies that “produce profound, positive change. By adding just one or two of these success strengths, women can realize exponential gains -- but the real secret weapon is using all 10,” she says.

Milazzo’s road to business success began when she was a little girl teaching an imaginary class in her shotgun house in New Orleans. Today, as owner of a $12-million dollar business, Milazzo, 51, has put a new face on the woman-dominated health industry by pioneering a new profession for nurses -- legal nurse consulting. Beginning with less than a hundred dollars seed money in 1982, her 29-person company revenues have tripled over the last five years. As the founder and president of Vickie Milazzo Institute, a division of Medical-Legal Consulting Institute, Inc. (www. Milazzo has been recognized with numerous awards. "Inc." named her to their Top Ten Entrepreneur list in 2004 and Pitney Bowes awarded her company Most Innovative Small Business. She won the prestigious Stevie Award for Women Entrepreneurs -- Mentor of the Year.

Businessweek Online “Savvy Selling” columnist Michele Nichols says, Milazzo’s book “is stuffed with good advice, real-life stories and womanly wisdom.”

PPI Insurers Need to do More for People Renting and in Shared Ownership

PPI Insurers Need to do More for People Renting and in Shared Ownership

Payment Protection insurers must offer policies that provide a financial safety net and meet the monthly commitments of all householders, whether they're renting, in shared ownership schemes or have mortgages, says PPI lobbyist Sara-Ann Burgess from Burgesses.

Braintree, Essex (PRWEB) September 29, 2008

Payment Protection insurers (http://www. burgesses. com) must offer policies that provide a financial safety net and meet the monthly commitments of all householders, whether they're renting, in shared ownership schemes or have mortgages, says PPI lobbyist Sara-Ann Burgess from Burgesses.

Traditionally, only those with mortgages have been able to protect their monthly repayments should accident, sickness or unemployment occur, but with increasing numbers of people renting or opting to take advantage of shared ownership schemes, Sara-Ann believes insurers must be more socially responsible and offer a wider portfolio of products.

She comments: "We know there's a rental boom and demand for Housing Association schemes is high, yet there's little out there to protect householders' monthly payments should something happen to stop them meeting their financial commitments. Why are insurers ignoring a whole sector of society, who for one reason or another do not have a full mortgage, but are just as much at risk of losing their family home as everyone else?"

Independent PPI provider British Insurance was the first to recently launch policies for people in shared ownership schemes and those who rent. The policies offer back to day one payouts, a choice of cover options and cater for people who voluntarily leave work to become carers for up to one year.

Sara-Ann continues: "I applaud any provider who recognises the dynamics of home ownership are changing and introduces products that meet the needs of more consumers. In this current climate, everyone is at risk of losing their job, so the more householders who can protect their monthly commitments, the better."

British Insurance's policies also provide free Health, Employment and Legal Protector cover, 24/7 health and legal helpline services, plus Legal Expenses in relation to employment and bodily injury disputes.

Customers can get information on general health and non-diagnostic matters such as allergies, side effects of drugs and Health Service waiting lists and there's a free back to work service with self help guides, access to a specialist website, job vacancy database and telephone advice via employment counsellors.

Sara-Ann concludes: "Whilst not all those renting or in shared ownership schemes are financially vulnerable, many will be on lower incomes than those with mortgages so are in greater need for low-cost PPI. I'm delighted more is being done in this area and the support services will be a great help to those trying to find a new job. I hope other PPI providers will follow the lead of British Insurance."

Zoombak Advanced GPS Dog Locators Now Available at More Than 900 PetSmart Locations Nationwide : PetSmart is the First National Pet Retailer to Carry GPS Locator Technology for Dogs

Furthering its leadership position in the GPS locator market, Zoombak LLC (www. zoombak. com), a Liberty Media (NASDAQ: LCAPA) company, announced today that its Advanced GPS Dog Locator is now available nationwide at PetSmart stores (www. petsmart. com). PetSmart is the largest specialty pet retailer of services and solutions for the lifetime needs of pets. Petsmart is constantly looking for innovative new products that can help pet parents raise healthy, happy pets. In support of this, PetSmart is now carrying the Zoombak Advanced GPS Dog Locator in its network of over 900 locations nationwide. The Zoombak GPS Dog Locator is the first product that combines the power of cellular networks and global positioning satellites to help owners find their dogs more accurately and in real-time via their computer or cell phone.

NEW YORK (PRWEB) May 20, 2008

"Dogs are an integral part of the family and unfortunately, most that go missing are never recovered," said Simon Buckingham, CEO of Zoombak. "It doesn't have to be that way, and we're delighted that PetSmart recognizes the potential of our Advanced GPS locator to reconnect pets with their owners quickly. The sooner they are safely back home, the sooner they are out of harms way."

The National Council on Pet Population Study and Policy recently found that family pets are lost nearly every two seconds, resulting in more than 10 million missing pets each year. Zoombak will partner with Petsmart to offer a series of hands-on, in-store demo days at select locations throughout June and July. These demos will provide dog owners with the opportunity to learn about Zoombak's easy-to-use locator technology and the unmatched peace of mind this new tool provides.

Weighing only 2.5 ounces, Zoombak features a compact, water-resistant design and a long-life rechargeable battery. The secure, easy-to-use interactive website lets owners create custom safety zones, set real-time alerts and generate on-demand locates. The Zoombak Advanced GPS Dog Locator retails for $199 and offers service plans starting at $9.99 a month. Zoombak provides free live phone customer service that can help users locate their dog 24 hours a day, virtually anywhere in the US.

Hotels Embrace the Holistic 'Wei' of Life with Organic Amenities

Hotels Embrace the Holistic 'Wei' of Life with Organic Amenities

Chamberlain West Hollywood is the latest boutique hotel to elevate their amenities by engaging Wei of Life companies, Wei of Chocolate and Lotus Wei, to provide organic spiced dark chocolate and customized organic travel relaxation misters for guests.

Phoenix, Ariz. (PRWEB) February 15, 2008

Wei of Life, parent company of Lotus Wei and Wei of Chocolate, announces that their premium lines of organic essences and organic dark chocolates are now available in special customized sizes for use in luxury and boutique hotels.

"The hotel industry demanded it," said Wei of Chocolate CEO Lisa Reinhardt. "The GMs of the emerging superclass of hotels recognize that guest service includes an essential wellness component so that guests can be at their best, whether for high-level business meetings or well-deserved getaways."

According to Reinhardt, the superclass of hotels is defined not by size or affiliation, but by attention to detail. Lotus Wei CEO Katie Hess agrees, "Guests look for authentic alignment in hotels' declared values of caring for their guests and what they offer as amenities. As people become more aware of what they put in and on their bodies, simply a fancy name and bottle is no longer acceptable to the health-conscious, eco-aware traveler."

That's where Wei of Life helps their hotel clients to shine.

It is Wei of Life's goal to assist luxury hotels in providing an upgraded experience that wows even the most discerning and sophisticated traveler by providing amenities that are eco-friendly, organic, and specially formulated to enhance states of mind and achieve desired effects.

Katie Hess explains, "Far beyond the old paradigm of look-good, smell-good types of products, Lotus Wei relies on a principle of physics to re-establish balance of body and mind, while delivering an unforgettable sensory experience even to the subconscious.

"Hotels serve their guests by providing amenities, yet they may be unintentionally providing products that contain toxins that lead to negative effects on the body and mind. We've advanced the concept of amenities so it's not simply about hygiene and convenience anymore; it's about holistic balance and an enhanced experience."

Sister company Wei of Chocolate embraces this concept as well. Lisa Reinhardt explains, "Our aim is to take something that people are already doing and elevate it. We take organic, vegan dark chocolate already renowned for its health benefits and add delicious and intentional blends of herbs, spices and vibrational essences designed to balance the body and mind. Now for luxury hotels, they can have all that in customized flavors, using signature, local ingredients and their brand colors - what could be better?"

For hotels that wish to surprise and delight their guests by taking the lead in offering organic amenities, Wei of Life is dedicated to designing organic products to promote joy and awareness by helping people care for themselves on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. Forget Heavy-Duty Painkillers, Back Surgery and Wrist Splints -- Simple At-Your-Desk Yoga Exercises Help Reduce Office Workers’ Computer-Related Pains

Forget Heavy-Duty Painkillers, Back Surgery and Wrist Splints -- Simple At-Your-Desk Yoga Exercises Help Reduce Office Workers’ Computer-Related Pains

Are your wrists, elbows, arms, neck, upper back sore or tight now, or during a day at work? Become pain free without using surgery, medications and alcohol. It take 2 minutes.

Calgary, AB (PRWEB) August 29, 2006 -–

For the millions of daily computer users tempted to turn to medication, alcohol, street drugs or surgery to manage aches and pains in the neck, back, wrists and shoulders, an alternative, all-natural approach is now available. A new book, Yoga for the Desk Jockey, describes simple at-your-desk exercises derived from traditional yoga moves that prevent aches and pains associated with computer work from escalating into unmanageable health problems (www. yogaforthedeskjockey. com).

“Yoga has a lot to offer people interested in drug-free, no-surgery ways to ease the strains of computer work,” says Susi Hately Aldous, a former ergonomics consultant who became a certified yoga instructor and now owns a yoga studio called Functional Synergy in Calgary. “But I needed to experiment and adapt these techniques for use throughout the day in the modern office. In Yoga for the Desk Jockey, I present fun and effective movements, stretches and breathing exercises that the average person can easily perform right at their desk in ordinary office clothes.”

“In the yoga classes I was teaching, I asked people to try various yoga poses, breathing and meditation techniques while at work,” says Ms. Hately Aldous, and then report back to me how they felt during the rest of the day. They all said they felt less pain and were less irritable with co-workers.”

The 25+ simple breathing, stretching and stress-release techniques in the book take the reader through a typical work day, from leaving for work, while commuting, taking a break, finishing the work day, heading home to getting ready to go to sleep. Besides less reliance on medication, alcohol, street drugs or surgery to manage pain, those following this regime experience greater productivity and more comfort – not to mention lower health-care costs and lower wear and tear on the body.

Yoga for the Desk Jockey with audio CD by Susi Hately Aldous, ISBN 0973889403, costs $19.99 and can be purchased at www. amazon. com or at www. yogaforthedeskjockey. com. Corporate bulk rates for the book are available.

“Reprints and ePrints are important methods of scholarly communication and information dissemination and we are pleased to provide a full service web-based reprint service bureau to an organization of the stature and value of ASIPP” said Jan Peterson, Head of Publisher Relations at Reprints Desk. “ASIPP can concentrate on editorial and content matters while Reprints Desk focuses on servicing their readers’ reprint needs.

“It’s a synergistic relationship that allows us to maximize our communication opportunities and minimize administrative duties. The organization has been growing rapidly since 1998 and has had a substantial impact on the practice of interventional pain management. Small Employers Flocking to Health Reimbursement Arrangements

Small Employers Flocking to Health Reimbursement Arrangements

As providing benefits becomes more expensive for small employers, many are turning to Section 105 HRA plans. An HRA, or Health Reimbursement Arrangement, can offer a tax advantage to small employers by enabling them to reimburse employees for the cost of their health insurance and other out-of-pocket medical expenses. Because individual health insurance is much less expensive than group coverage, this can save an employer thousands of dollars a year. HSA for America has just released two special reports explaining who qualifies, how much money you can save, and how to get an HRA established.

Fort Collins, Colorado (PRWEB) January 12, 2009

Health Reimbursement Arrangements, or HRAs, are growing in popularity as small business owners look for less expensive ways to help their employees with health insurance and other benefits. An HRA is a tax-free program that helps employers reimburse employees for the cost of their health insurance and medical expenses as a tax-free fringe benefit. HSA for America has just released two special reports explaining who qualifies for an HRA, how much money you can save, and how to inexpensively get an HRA established.

HRAs help employers offset the cost of their employees' healthcare expenses by allowing employers to submit a tax-free reimbursement to employees. These reimbursements will go towards qualifying healthcare payments that are not covered by the company's healthcare plan and may include reimbursement for deductibles, services, co-pays, or coinsurance claims.

HRA reimbursements may also be made to reimburse cover health insurance premiums -- an ideal way to help your employees pay for low cost individual coverage rather than expensive group coverage. The employer can choose what to cover, including dental, vision, and other out-of-pocket medical expenses, and set the limit for how much they will reimburse.

HRAs are suitable for all types of businesses, but are uniquely designed to make healthcare more affordable for small businesses. "We have never had so many clients set up HRAs for their employees," said Wiley Long, President of HSA for America. "Group health insurance coverage has become quite expensive, so it can be difficult for small business owners to offer competitive health insurance coverage for their employees, if they are even able to offer coverage at all. An HRA can really make a lot of sense for a small business with healthy employees."

HSA for America has two special reports available on HRAs. One explains how to set up an HRA specifically to help small business owners with employees save money on their health insurance plans. The other report explains how a sole proprietor can benefit from an HRA. Either way, an HRA may help businesses save $3,000 or more per year on healthcare-related expenses. For more information about plans from HSA for America, visit www. HSAforAmerica. com/HRA. htm (http://www. HSAforAmerica. com/HRA. htm).

About HSA for America:

HSA for America offers affordable HRA programs for employers and their employees, helping both employers and employees save money while receiving tax incentives for their healthcare reimbursements. In addition to a comprehensive offering of HRA programs, HSA for America also offers a wide spectrum of HSA-qualifiedd health insurance plans that help businesses and families save money on their medical expenses and income taxes.

HaiVision's MAKO-HD Telepresence Codec Transmits First Live Stereoscopic 3D High Definition Surgical Procedure Using IP Video

HaiVision's MAKO-HD Telepresence Codec Transmits First Live Stereoscopic 3D High Definition Surgical Procedure Using IP Video

HaiVision Systems Inc. (Montreal, Canada), the world's leading vendor of performance H.264 network video codecs, announces that today at the annual meeting of the Canadian Urology Association (CUA) in Edmonton, Canada, the industry leading MAKO-HD video encoder/decoder technology is being used to transmit live surgical stereoscopic 3D high definition 1080i video from Intuitive Surgical's daVinci S robotic surgical system.

Montreal, Canada (PRWEB) June 24, 2008

HaiVision Systems Inc., the world's leading vendor of performance H.264 network video codecs, announces that today at the annual meeting of the Canadian Urology Association (CUA) in Edmonton, Canada, the industry leading MAKO-HD video encoder/decoder technology is being used to transmit live surgical stereoscopic 3D high definition 1080i video from Intuitive Surgical's daVinci S robotic surgical system.

Orchestrated by Capital Health's Centre for the Advancement of Minimally Invasive Surgery and BEAM Regional Telehealth, attendees at the CUA meeting at the Shaw Conference Center are witnessing a comparison between robotic and traditional approaches to a urology procedure (radical prostatectomy). In this unique event, both traditional and robotic surgeries are being performed simultaneously within advanced Stryker equipped operating rooms at the hospital and are being broadcast live to the conference center for comparative purposes. The conference center is 2 kilometers from where the surgeries are taking place. In order for attendees to fully experience the 3D technology employed by the surgical robot, the two high definition sources from the surgical robot (necessary for the 3D effect) are being transmitted over a high speed network using HaiVision's MAKO-HD codec technology. Attendees are viewing the 3D surgery using polarized glasses and Lightspeed Design, Inc's DepthQ stereoscopic processing and systems integration technology.

"The stereo high definition video that we are receiving at the conference center is stunning," states Gayle Burnett, Regional Director for Capital Health's Centre for the Advancement of Minimally Invasive Surgery. "Most important for the effort was to retain synchronization between the video streams so that the stereo effect is maintained. HaiVision's technology accomplishes this absolutely and with imperceptible latency."

HaiVision has a long history of enabling remote viewing of medical video, as HaiVision codecs were first used for the transmission of standard definition stereo video from the daVinci system for live telerobotic surgery demonstrations at the American Telemedicine Associate conference in 2005. HaiVision's newest codec, the MAKO-HD, is ideal for medical applications, supporting the highest resolution and the lowest latency (70 milliseconds) available with the latest H.264 video compression technology. HaiVision has as well introduced SHARE-HD, a network video recording system designed for medical applications capable of recording and replaying multiple synchronous high definition video streams.

The MAKO-HD is the high definition video encoder/decoder available within the hai1000 network video system and supports up to 1080p resolution. The hai1000 multi-stream system, integrated within the systems of HaiVision's OEM clients, is the world's leading codec for telepresence.

Fat Absorb - Healthy Weight Loss Without Changing Your Lifestyle Was Never This Easy

Fat Absorb - Healthy Weight Loss Without Changing Your Lifestyle Was Never This Easy

Tired of serious side effects from weight loss pills? Is the taste of fat loss diets overwhelmingly prohibitive? Looking for a weight loss method with zero adjustments in your lifestyle? Presenting the best way to lose weight in the most nonchalant way you've ever known

(PRWEB) March 18, 2009

London -- Several medical and scientific studies have proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that almost every major potentially fatal disease has its roots in the amount of fat accumulation in the body. Majority of our people won't have been suffering from diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disorders, and other serious ailments pertaining to the vital organs of the body, had they not been careless enough about bulging belly fat.

But, as they say, "It's never too late!" here's a product that can easily melt away that annoying stomach fat without breaking a sweat. We are talking about Fat Absorb - the latest, most effective, and all-natural weight loss product. "After extensive research on the available diet pills, fat burners, and other similar diet products, we realized that most of these products contain some kind of non-natural ingredients that can cause temporary or permanent damage to the vital body parts. In FatAbsorb, we have a product that addresses all these concerns and at the same time, gives stable results in double quick time," assert the promoters of Fat Absorb (http://www. FatAbsorb. com) on its launch.

The major highlight of Fat Absorb is its all-natural content without any concoction of chemical or stimulants, and thus, causes absolutely zero side effects. The key ingredient of this weight loss product is Chitosan, which is natural fiber derived from 'Chitin', a polysaccharide found in shellfish shells. Another striking aspect about Fat Absorb is its non-allergenic property, i. e., even people with shellfish allergies can safely consume Fat Absorb without any worry because they are allergic to the meat, and not the fiber in the shell.

"We have laid great emphasis on the need to dispense with the lifestyle changes in order to attain healthy weight loss. With Fat Absorb (http://www. FatAbsorb. com), losing weight is simply sticking to the schedule of taking a couple of capsules 20 minutes before lunch and dinner with a glass of water. Period. No special diets or supplemental fat loss pills or crash dieting," affirm the promoters of Fat Absorb.

"Chitosan absorbs fats and oils around six to ten times its weight. It combines and binds itself with the fat molecules, converts them into an unabsorbable form and passes it harmlessly out of your system. This process ultimately leads to reduction of the stored fat which has been making your body obese. The net result is natural and easy weight loss without any modification in your lifestyle."

No need to look for 'How to lose weight?' guides or a diet pill that works. You can easily lose body fat with the most advanced weight loss program around. Fat Absorb can achieve what your best diets won't.

For more information about Fat Absorb, please visit Fat Absorb Official Website (http://www. FatAbsorb. com)

The 18 Top Strategies to Simplify Life: By Hale Dwoskin, Featured Expert in the #1 Bestseller "The Secret"

The 18 Top Strategies to Simplify Life: By Hale Dwoskin, Featured Expert in the #1 Bestseller "The Secret"

Hale Dwoskin, founder of The Sedona Method and a featured teacher in the #1 blockbuster bestselling book and movie by the same name, "The Secret," has just announced "The 18 Most Effective Strategies to Simplify Life" -- and a give-away of Sedona course samplers so people can overcome the complex and draining emotions preventing them from living a simpler and more rewarding life.

Sedona, AZ (PRWEB) April 30, 2007

Hale Dwoskin, founder of The Sedona Method and a featured teacher in the #1 blockbuster bestselling book and movie by the same name, "The Secret," has just announced "The 18 Most Effective Strategies to Simplify Life" -- and a Sedona course sampler giveaway so people can discover how to finally let go of the complex and draining emotions that are preventing them from living a simpler and more rewarding life.

"Report after report confirms that people are stressed out, overwhelmed and burdened down by their daily lives -- and by their negative emotional reaction to the stress and burden," says Hale. "But it doesn't have to be that way. There are clear and proven steps to take to trade in the chaos for a more peaceful, calm and simple way of life."

Hale explains that the problem is that many do not know how to do so, and so he has compiled and released this list of top strategies to simplify life:

1. Resign from any and all organizations, committees or panels that aren't resulting in greater happiness.
2. Create a realistic to-do list each day, and stick to it.
3. Turn off the cell phone after business hours.
4. Create carpools with other parents to drive kids to and from activities.
5. Make a list of top dreams, and put effort into achieving them before taking on other tasks.
6. Learn to say "no" when saying "no" is necessary. (See http://www. sedona. com//lp-sayingno. aspx (http://www. sedona. com//lp-sayingno. aspx) for more on this essential tactic.)
7. Turn off the TV (or watch less of it). It is amazing how much time it clears up.
8. Go through postal mail as soon as it is retrieved. Throw away junk mail and file bills and other important papers.
9. Do grocery shopping once a week, rather than scooting to the store every other day.
10. Live as close to the workplace as possible.
11. Set up bills to be paid automatically.
12. Get rid of clutter in the home, purse and briefcase (and stop buying more of it). If something is not used or greatly loved, give it away!
13. If more than one of the same item is owned, give the extras away (how many kitchen spatulas does anyone really need?).
14. Set aside one full day each weekend to do something fun.
15. Get rid of credit card accounts that are not used.
16. Always cook more food than needed for one meal, then use the leftovers later in the week.
17. Create a sanctuary, and spend some time in it everyday.
18. And finally, use The Sedona Method to clear the head and heart of complex and draining emotions. Right now, to help people do that, Hale is offering everyone a free Insiders Guide to The Sedona Method email course sampler (http://www. sedona. com/lp-simplifyyourlife. aspx) by inputting just their name and email in the sidebar on the right at http://www. sedona. com/lp-simplifyyourlife. aspx (http://www. sedona. com/lp-simplifyyourlife. aspx).

The Sedona Method -- which has been studied and verified effective by Harvard Medical School (http://www. sedona. com/html/Scientific-Evidence. aspx) -- is an essential tool to help people release negative behavior patterns and unresolved emotions to help live simpler and far more rewarding lives … and to finally achieve their health, financial, relationship and other goals!

For more insights on the topic of the power of overcoming negative emotions and simplifying your life to achieve greater happiness (http://www. sedona. com/lp-simplifyyourlife. aspx), Hale Dwoskin, New York Times Best-Selling author of The Sedona Method, featured expert in the film and New York Times bestseller "The Secret," (http://www. sedona. com/the-secret-behind-the-secret. aspx) and CEO and Director of Training of Sedona Training Associates, is available for interviews. Sedona Training Associates is an organization that teaches courses based on the emotional releasing techniques originated by Hale Dwoskin's mentor, Lester Levenson. Dwoskin is an international speaker and featured faculty member at Esalen and the Omega Institute. For over a quarter century, he has regularly been teaching The Sedona Method techniques to individuals and corporations throughout the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Denver, CO (PRWEB) November 22, 2006

The Center for Talent Retention announces continued sponsorship of the Engaging and Retaining Talent Learning and Research track at the Human Capital Institute (HCI). The core of the philosophy of the Center for Talent Retention (http://www. keeppeople. com) is that the only way an organization will generate enduring profits is to build the kind of work environment that attracts, engages and keeps talented employees.

While this research is indisputable, few companies do an effective job of engaging and retaining their best people. This critical talent practice will become an even bigger challenge in a global free-agent marketplace. This industry leading, learning and research initiative investigates concepts and methodologies that assist in attracting the talent required to prosper, engaging the talent to perform at their highest levels, and retain the talent needed to support your business strategy. The impact of different levels of engagement are examined in terms of their financial impact on the bottom line of the enterprise, and specific manager accountabilities are explored to engage and retain "one employee at a time." A panel of expert advisors explores best and next practices, sharing information with human capital professionals through webcasts, white papers, education and other resources.

"Engaging and Retaining talent is one of the most critical management issues today and it will only get more critical as the baby-boomers begin to retire. The Center for Talent Retention is at the cutting edge of engaging and retaining talent strategies and practices. PROVO, Utah (PRWEB) May 8, 2006

The Cancer Crusaders Organization and Grapevine Radio will introduce the “Only Skin Deep?”® Peer Educator’s Program to the world via Internet radio beginning May 26, 2006 to commemorate national Skin Cancer Awareness month.

“The curriculum was originally created to be a college course through Utah Valley State College,” said Danielle White, co-founder of The Cancer Crusaders Organization and host of the Conversations with Cancer show. “Although we will still teach it as a college course, we realized that there are many people who wouldn’t be able to make it to the campus so we are going to utilize the Grapevine Radio Network to bring this unique, innovative curriculum to anyone who is interested.”

Those who would like to actively participate in the course can purchase the workbook and supplementary tools through The Cancer Crusader Organization. Listeners can hear the show live on Fridays at 1 p. m. MST (3 p. m. EST) or on repeat airing at the same time will receive certification as peer educators on skin cancer.

“We are extremely excited about the potential of this [program],” White said. “The opportunity to provide everyone, everywhere with access to personalized and interactive skin cancer education is truly phenomenal. Those who complete the course will be put on our speakers’ bureau of peer educators and will have everything they need to increase education about this disease that is so preventable, and will help us reach more people that we might not have otherwise.”

The copyrighted three-part curriculum covers basics about skin care, skin cancer prevention, and environmental health. White initially created the curriculum as her senior thesis project while at Utah Valley State College. Credible dermatologists reviewed each part of the curriculum and approved it in October 2005. White is also approved by the Utah State Department of Health as a cancer educator, and is an inducted member of the National Coalition for Sun Safety as part of the American Academy of Dermatology.

The Cancer Crusaders Organization has received national recognition from the American Academy of Dermatology when they were awarded the prestigious Gold Triangle Award in 2005. White started the organization with good friend Natalie Camille Johnson, creator of the National Skin Cancer Awareness Symbol©, on January 1, 2004.

The Conversations with Cancer show began broadcasting on the Grapevine Radio Network July 22, 2005, and is the second most popular show on the network. The show features leading experts from the field of dermatology, including skin cancer survivors. The show runs live every Friday @ 1:00 PM (MST) for 50 minutes on www. grapevineradio. com. Conversations with Cancer reaches 19-million listeners across the globe every week. To register for the program, please contact Danielle White.

GodwinGroup Reaches Pact with L. A. Firm to Expand Digital Marketing Services

GodwinGroup Reaches Pact with L. A. Firm to Expand Digital Marketing Services

WebMetro/Godwin to focus on full integration of traditional and digital marketing for Southern U. S. clients

Jackson, Miss. (PRWEB) October 6, 2009

GodwinGroup, an integrated marketing communications firm (http://godwin. com/) serving clients primarily headquartered in the Southeastern United States, and WebMetro, a leading, full service provider of Internet and online marketing services (http://www. webmetro. com/), have reached agreement to create WebMetro/Godwin, which will operate as a digital arm of GodwinGroup.

WebMetro/Godwin represents a dramatic expansion of GodwinGroup's digital marketing (http://webmetrogodwin. com/) capabilities for web site design and development, paid search, search engine optimization (SEO), contextual advertising, analytics, and social media marketing. WebMetro/Godwin will serve ten Southeastern states from Oklahoma and Texas across to the Carolinas and down to Florida.
WebMetro, headquartered in Los Angeles and with an office in New York, will add the South and Southeast to its business footprint through this co-branding agreement, and utilize GodwinGroup's expertise and reputation for strategic marketing, advertising and creative services for its clients outside the region.

"Businesses and organizations today must have digital marketing as a cornerstone, which includes being able to control how accessible your web site is, how searchable it is and to measure who is using it," said Danny Mitchell, Board Chairman/Senior Partner of GodwinGroup. "We have integrated the staffs from each of us, and they are already working together on a daily basis to provide several of our clients with strategies, execution, tracking and analytics at a level rarely available in this region."

Through this new agreement, WebMetro/Godwin gains access to WebMetro's proprietary marketing technology called DSMM™ (Dynamic System for Multimedia Marketing). The latest version called DSMM Advantage™ 3.0 provides a total campaign management system for online marketing, including detailed tracking and analytics software that has been used to guide strategy in numerous successful online marketing campaigns.

"We are excited about this relationship with GodwinGroup and our combined capability to provide a single-source marketing solution," said Carlos Ugalde, P. E, Founder and CEO of WebMetro. "New media opportunities such as social media combined with traditional forms of advertising help us surround the client with marketing messages delivered in any form they want."

WebMetro/Godwin will house staff members in Jackson and Los Angeles. The new entity will serve both its own set of clients and those clients who are already working with either GodwinGroup or WebMetro. WebMetro/Godwin will be supported by a council of senior staff members who are industry leaders in integration of marketing strategies.

Philip Shirley, CEO of GodwinGroup, said, "The old full-service ad agency was replaced by the integrated marketing firm 20 years ago, but the meaning of integration has changed in a digital world. Today, consumers demand that we talk to them when and where they choose. Mass media remains critically important for brand awareness and traffic generation, but we must also engage consumers in a conversation and put at their fingertips or in the palms of their hands the information they use to make a purchase decision."

WebMetro has served clients in several industries including retail, travel, insurance, education and finance. It has been named a Top Interactive Agency by BtoB magazine and as one of America's Fastest Growing Private Companies by Inc. magazine. WebMetro has garnered many prestigious industry certifications and is one of only a few interactive marketing agencies to be certified by Google, Yahoo! and MSN to provide superior search engine marketing services. WebMetro also maintains successful relationships with other market leaders including SEMPO®, Hitwise®, DMA®, and Omniture®.

GodwinGroup, founded in 1937, headquartered in Jackson, Miss. and with offices in Biloxi, serves clients nationwide, primarily in healthcare, banking, finance and insurance, utilities, tourism, manufacturing, food and consumer goods. Swanson Vitamins and Ori Hofmekler Develop a New Whole Whey Protein Powder

Swanson Vitamins and Ori Hofmekler Develop a New Whole Whey Protein Powder

Together with Ori Hofmekler, Swanson Vitamins developed a new, whole whey protein powder that is low in fat, easily digestible, fast assimilating and great tasting.

Fargo, ND (PRWEB) June 8, 2009

Swanson Vitamins teamed up with Ori Hofmekler, health and fitness expert and author of "The Anti-Estrogenic Diet" and "The Warrior Diet", to develop a unique Whey Protein Powder that has one of the highest biological values with the best nourishing impact. Ori Hofmekler's Whey Protein is made with whole whey concentrate and is as close to organic as affordable protein powder gets.

Whey protein isolates are industrially refined proteins that are devoid of nutritional cofactors--vitamins, minerals, beneficial components and fragile immune supporting nutrients--which are lost during processing. They are treated with heat and acid processing, which destroys the amino acids and renders the protein nutritionally deficient.

Ori Hofmekler's Whey Protein (http://www. swansonvitamins. com/health-library/products/ori-hofmekler-whey-protein. html? SourceCode=INTN041) comes from grass-fed cows and uses the highest manufacturing standards. Starting with the collection of grass-fed cow's milk and continuing with unique, cold-temperature, acid-free processing allows Ori's Whey Protein to remain hormone-free, drug-free and chemical-free. It boosts overall health and supports lean muscle development without interfering with weight loss or weight maintenance goals. Hofmekler says, "Our goal was to create the most nourishing, best tasting whey protein powders at a price low enough to allow people to enjoy them on a daily basis." Ori's Whey Protein is available in 3 great-tasting flavors: vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, and they satisfy sweet cravings making them a health snack alternative.
All 3 flavors are can be purchased at Swanson Vitamins (http://www. swansonvitamins. com/?SourceCode=INTN041) for only $14.99 for a 14.8 ounce container.

Search Engine Optimization – Factors to be considered while hiring an SEO

Search Engine Optimization has been the talk of the street these days as more and more companies are entering this SEO service sector and all claim to make a website appear among the top 10 results in major search engines i. e. Which factors to consider while deciding to hire an SEO company?

(PRWEB) November 1, 2003

Search Engine Optimization has been the talk of the street these days as more and more companies are entering this SEO service sector and all claim to make a website appear among the top 10 results in major search engines i. e. Google, Yahoo, Lycos, AltaVista etc. How can a novice individual make a decision of choosing an SEO company to optimize his/her website among this roar of bids and claims. Which factors to consider while deciding to hire an SEO company?

There are a number of factors that are to be clarified with an SEO company before making a final decision of hiring one. Here are some key factors to be discussed with an SEO service provider before entering into a deal:

Mode of submission: A majority of SEO providers use various softwares to automate the task of submission to search engines but a manual submission is more reliable and preferable as compared to an automatic one because some search engines ignore automatic submissions by softwares. You must always ask the exact method of submission from the SEO provider.

Healthy link building: Many firms will boast about that they have a very strong link building database and very high number of links pointing to your website will increase your website ranking, however this is partially true because search engines are not foolish but very intelligent and they can very easily recognize that whether the links pointing to a website are quality links or just spammed by a group of websites. A clarification about link building should be sought from the SEO provider.

Use of Unfair Statements: Many SEO companies make false claims like “We will make your website rank among top 10 in 3 days or a single day” Beware of those making such hype statements, never go with such providers. SEO is a continuous process that demands time, it requires proper research and analysis and you would wonder to know that it takes about four to five months for Yahoo to just decide the relevance of a website for it’s directory inclusion even in paid listing although it is not final that you would be added to their directory after you have paid for it. The reason for such delay is the huge number of websites received by them to be included in their directory.

Price consideration: Many SEO providers will offer you $99 for submission to 1000 search engines and directories this is again a misleading offer. Many people are attracted by such offers and go in for such a service but after submitting the amount they are completely unsatisfied with the results. Quality SEO service demands more resources, research, time, analysis and finally more price.

St. LukeÂ’s Medical Center Named One of NationÂ’s 100 Top Orthopedic Hospitals

St. LukeÂ’s Medical Center Named One of NationÂ’s 100 Top Orthopedic Hospitals

(PRWEB) February 23, 2000

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Meridell Sloterbeek

 (602) 251-8156

PHOENIX, Arizona – February 17, 2000 – St. LukeÂ’s Medical Center, Phoenix, has been recognized by HCIA Inc., a leading healthcare information company, as a recipient of the 1999 100 Top Orthopedic Hospitals Award.

The hospital was recognized for its excellence in hip replacement surgery. St LukeÂ’s orthopedic surgeons performed more than 200 hip replacements during the base year of the study. In addition, they performed revisions to more than 100 hip replacements which had originally been performed utilizing earlier techniques or at other facilities.

100 Top Hospitals: Orthopedic Benchmarks for Success, conducted by HCIA, is a purely objective study, based on quantitative data that are consistent and complete across the United States. This methodology ensures that the focus is on statistical, rather than anecdotal, evidence of top performance. The measures for the study stress quality of care, efficiency of operations and sustainability of overall performance.

Â“Our study shows clearly that the winners of the 100 Top Hospitals Orthopedic award are providing orthopedic care with significantly fewer complications and significantly fewer deaths than other hospitals,” said Jean Chenoweth, Senior Vice President, HCIA Inc.

“For consumers, our study also provides clear guidance: Orthopedic services, such as those in the 100 Top Orthopedic Hospitals, that treat large numbers of patients tend to produce better results than programs that treat small numbers of patients and/or which are trying to grow at a very fast pace.”

This yearÂ’s ranking is based on the following six measures of clinical quality practices, operations and financial management:

 Mortality rate, risk-adjusted for severity of illness

 Complications rate, risk-adjusted for severity of illness

 Count of unique patients receiving orthopedic services

 Average length of stay at the hospital, adjusted for illness

 Cost per patient, adjusted for illness severity and local wage differences

 Percentage of patients who came from, and were discharged to, home

“St. Luke’s performance, especially relating to our low incidence of complications, reflects the hard work and dedication of our medical staff and employees,” said Meridell Sloterbeek, COO and interim CEO of St. Luke’s Medical Center.

“St. LukeÂ’s has long been recognized by the medical community as a provider of excellent orthopedic services and it is gratifying to know we are among the select group recognized in this study for excellence in hip replacement procedures,” Sloterbeek continued.

Anthony K. Hedley, M. D., F. R.C. S. (Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons), Chairman of St. LukeÂ’s Department of Orthopedics and President of the Institute for Bone and Joint Disorders said, “I have been associated with St. LukeÂ’s Hospital for 18 years. In the course of that time, St. LukeÂ’s has maintained a constant standard of excellence in orthopedic surgery. We have consistently been leaders in the volume of elective orthopedic surgery done in the Valley.

Â“St. LukeÂ’s has developed an international reputation,” adds Hedley, “as being one of the preeminent joint replacement hospitals. Our surgeons performed more than 800 joint replacements last year. The hospital staff brings a high level of expertise and is well supported by St. LukeÂ’s administration and staff. This has been an excellent cooperative venture and continues to grow.”

Theodore P. Firestone, M. D., F. A.C. S. (Fellow of the American College of Surgeons), Vice Chairman of St. LukeÂ’s Department of Orthopedics, who, along with Hedley, performs the majority of hip procedures at St. LukeÂ’s said, Even though Dr. Hedley and I perform a large volume of complex revision surgeries, weÂ’ve kept our complication rate to a minimum.”

The other current medical staff orthopedic surgeons whose procedures contributed to St. LukeÂ’s recognition by the Top 100 study include Dr. Neal Rockowitz, Dr. Bruce Mallin, Dr. Harry Sirounian, Dr. Charles Creasman, Dr. Dana Seltzer, Dr. Alexander McLaren, Dr. Janet Whirlow, Dr. Robert White, Dr. Anthony Yeung, Dr. Karl Hamson, Dr. Jeff Martin and Dr. Charles Gauntt.

A summary version of the study, 100 Top Hospitals: Orthopedic Benchmarks for Success, can be found on HCIAÂ’s 100 Top Hospitals web site (100tophospitals. com).

HCIA Inc. collects, manages and distributes comparative health information worldwide. ItÂ’s customers manufacture, purchase and/or deliver healthcare products and services. By combining the industryÂ’s leading databases, methodologies and analytic services, HCIA creates information assets that help customers manage healthcare costs and improve patient care.

Who Goes Without Health Insurance?

Who Goes Without Health Insurance?

Freedom Benefits Associaiotn issued results of a study indicating that the easiest and least expensive way to reduce the number of Americans without health insurance is to inform those individuals leaving a health plan of less expensive coverage options.

(PRWEB) November 15, 2004

Freedom Benefits Association of Philadelphia issued the conclusions of its study that indicates that many Americans without health insurance are still not aware of the most viable coverage options available. The problem may be largely fueled by the fact that these uninsured individuals are isolated in terms of communication about health insurance benefits and because they are in a state of lifestyle transition. The solution may be better education from the private sector rather than expanded public programs. Federal law requiring continuing coverage to departing employees could be modified to provide for lower cost options and more liberal eligibility and enrollment procedures.

The number of Americans without health insurance has risen from 41 million a year ago to 45 million in the latest survey according to the U. S. Census Bureau. This figure may be somewhat misleading in that an estimated 85.2 million Americans were without health insurance for at least some small part of the past year, according to a privately funded survey by Families USA. This larger figure includes all who had a gap in coverage while changing health plans – a statistic not counted in the census bureau report. The Families USA report used data compiled and analyzed by The Lewin Group from the U. S. Census Bureau, the Department of Labor, and the Department of Health and Human Services.

A common belief is that uninsured Americans cannot afford or are not eligible for health insurance. This is not supported by the findings of the study. A closer look at the uninsured population reveals these details:

1) Over half of the uninsured are in a temporary lifestyle change – a recent graduation, job change, starting a business, moving, etc. They do not expect to remain without coverage for a long period of time.

2) Over 60% of the uninsured are associated with a small business (as opposed to having health benefits formerly being provided by a large employer).

3) The cost of health coverage is increasingly cited as a reason for not carrying insurance, yet the actual cost of issued interim health insurance coverage is less than half of the amount paid by employers. The monthly cost of family health coverage in 2003 provided by employers was $851, according to a survey conducted by the Kaiser foundation. The monthly cost of short term medical insurance issued to families was less than $350, according to the business records of Freedom Benefits Association.

4) Over a third of the uninsured come from households with incomes over $50,000.

5) Over 62% of Americans receive their health benefits through an employer plan. Employer health plans are not required to offer lower cost coverage options to departing employees. Federal law only requires that employers offer the most expensive coverage option commonly known as “COBRA coverage”.

These trends seem to confirm the theory that easiest and least intrusive way to significantly reduce the number of Americans without health insurance is educate and promote low cost health insurance options, especially to the small business community.

Freedom Benefits provides enrollment support for businesses that provide short-term health insurance and other low cost health insurance plans through MedSave. com and other online providers.

20,000 Patients "Lighten Up" with the Zerona Laser for Body-Contouring

20,000 Patients "Lighten Up" with the Zerona Laser for Body-Contouring

700 FDA-Approved Low Level Lasers Currently Available in North America

Santa Barbara, CA (PRWEB) November 8, 2010

Santa Barbara Medical Innovations, SBMI, announces today that over 20,000 patients have undergone Erchonia’s Zerona® painless, body-contouring laser treatment to date, an increase of 48% since May 2010, with physicians reporting their patients have lost an average of 4.1 inches. Collectively, these 20,000 patients have lost an estimated 82,000 inches, or 1.3 miles of fat, thanks to the non-invasive, low level laser technology.

The U. S. Food and Drug Administration recently granted the Zerona laser 510(k) clearance, finding the Zerona laser to be safe and effective for non-invasive body-contouring of the waist, hips and thighs. FDA clearance followed after the completion of a placebo-controlled, randomized, double-blind, multi-site clinical investigation evaluating sixty-seven study participants. Participants lost an average of 3.65 inches across patient’s waist, hips, and thighs in as little as two weeks.

The Zerona emits a low-level, or cold, output energy that generates no thermal effect on the body’s tissue eliminating any risk to the patient. Zerona has been clinically proven to target fat cells causing their immediate collapse thereby significantly reducing body volume. Through a natural process of fat removal, the laser-released fat is safely removed and broken down. Zerona is a truly non-invasive, painless procedure without side effects or downtime.

“The 20,000 patient mark is a great milestone for Zerona,” says Chip Conk, founder and CEO of SBMI. “Zerona’s FDA clearance has given both doctors and patients confidence that the technology is a safe and effective non-invasive alternative to reduce fat.”

Presently, over 700 Zerona lasers are in use throughout North America and the numbers are steadily growing in part due to SBMI’s “ZERO” investment business model, which puts the Zerona laser in the hands of physicians with no capital equipment investment and only a small start-up fee. With the recent FDA market clearance, SBMI has experienced record months, with physicians eager to offer their patients an FDA-approved device, cleared as both safe and effective for circumferential loss of the waist, hips and thighs.

About SBMI
SBMI is dedicated to bringing clinically proven, innovative health and wellness products that are safe and effective to market. SBMI is the exclusive North American distributor of Zerona® the FDA-approved, non-invasive, body-contouring device, as well as the Erchonia EML, the only laser device FDA approved for pain during liposuction and breast surgery.
