Dermatologists Find Curaderm-BEC a Breakthrough Alternative to Skin Cancer Surgery

Dermatologists Find Curaderm-BEC a Breakthrough Alternative to Skin Cancer Surgery

Ten UK skin cancer treatment centres support the non-surgical treatment claims of Curaderm-BEC.

(PRWEB) March 17, 2005

Dermatologists at Royal London Hospital and nine other United Kingdom skin cancer treatment centres have supported claims that Curaderm-BEC cures skin cancer and is a viable alternative to conventional surgery, chemotherapy and laser treatments. Dermatologists applied the topical cream twice daily to the cancer lesion and within weeks, laboratory biopsies confirmed the BEC cream eliminated all traces of cancer. This startling discovery is a major medical breakthrough, as skin cancer is quickly becoming a health epidemic.

Skin cancer management usually involves surgery, and the risks of surgical intervention are well known. Excision of skin cancer, such as a Basel Cell Carcinoma (BCC), from the facial area often involves reconstructive surgery, which can be both time consuming and costly.

Dr. Sangeeta Punjabl of the Royal London Hospital concluded the Curaderm-BEC evaluation by stating, “We consider that this rate of treatment success more than justifies the physician considering BEC as an alternative to currently predominant treatment such as surgical excision or cryotherapy.”

The product consists of a patented biochemical (BEC) which is extracted from plants and a specialised cream formulation. Keratolytic and other agents in the cream soften and peel of the first layer of skin allowing the anti-cancer bio-chemical BEC to reach deep into the affected skin tissue. This active ingredient has an incredible capacity to select between cancerous and healthy cells. Once inside a cancer cell, the phytochemicals proceed to digest proteins, fats and carbohydrates, resulting in the destruction and sudden death of the cancer cell.

Clinical research and medical information available online at www. curaderm. net details over twenty years of medical evidence, including photographs of patient cases and other conclusive clinical data previously published in prestigious medical journals such as Cancer Letters and Drugs of Today. Over the past decade, similar successful claims have also been observed in independent studies by practicing doctors in the USA and Australia.

About Curaderm-BEC

Curaderm-BEC can successfully eliminate all BCC's, SCC's and Keratosis in humans. Until now, Curaderm-BEC has been for sale exclusively in Australia, the skin cancer capital of the world, where over 50,000 consumers have chosen Curaderm-BEC to rid eliminate cancer lesions. The independent skin cancer clinicÂ’s positive conclusions are expected to provide further comfort to medical practitioners and consumers, proving that Curaderm-BEC is a safe skin cancer care alternative to surgery. Curaderm-BEC can be purchased and delivered to consumers worldwide at www. curaderm. net through the manufacturer Dr. Calmez Ltd.

Launching Five Clinics on Wheels This Year, Ronald McDonald House Charities Celebrates Ten Years of the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Program

Launching Five Clinics on Wheels This Year, Ronald McDonald House Charities Celebrates Ten Years of the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Program

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Driver, Kasey Kahne, Joins the Celebration Giving $50K Toward a New Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Program

Oak Brook, Ill. (Vocus) June 4, 2010

Ten years after the launch of the first Ronald McDonald Care Mobile® (RMCM) (http://rmhc. org/what-we-do/ronald-mcdonald-care-mobile/), five other programs are scheduled to launch in 2010: Latvia, Columbus, OH; Denver, CO; Australia, and Canada. Currently, there are 39 programs on the road around the world delivering dental, medical and health education services to 150,000 children in vulnerable populations each year. For more than a decade, Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) (http://rmhc. org/who-we-are/mission-and-vision/) has created these clinics on wheels to identify, treat, and refer children to a continuous health source. The care on board is affordable and no child is turned away because of their ability or inability to pay.

A unique mobile healthcare program (http://rmhc. org/files/edm/201002.php), the RMCM goes beyond treatment, by reducing families' reliance on emergency rooms, heightening awareness of healthy lifestyles and helping eligible families obtain government-assisted health insurance. Based on estimated market rates for basic pediatric and dental services, the health care provided annually by RMHC is valued at nearly $10 million, according to a study of the economic impact of the RMCM program in the United States. Staffed by healthcare experts in the communities it serves, the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile program works to complement existing services, build capacity and strengthen the local healthcare infrastructure. RMCM staff provide services that range from immunizations and preventive check-ups to dental care and treatment for chronic and acute illnesses.

Sixty percent of the children who visit the RMCM are uninsured and do not visit a physician’s office during the year and more than half have no care from a provider of any type in an office-based setting. Uninsured children are at greater risk of experiencing health problems such as obesity, heart disease and asthma, and most likely these will continue to affect them later in adulthood.

''Over the past 10 years the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile has served over 1 million children. An important part of the health care delivering system to vulnerable children, the program’s success lies in the partnerships made with the medical community, as well as donors like Kasey Kahne and the Kasey Kahne Foundation,'' said Jennifer Blanchard Smith, senior director of Communications and Special Programs, RMHC. ''With this support we know we’ll be on the road serving children for many years to come.''

Kasey Kahne, long-time supporter and Celebrity Friend of RMHC, celebrated the program’s 10-year milestone by donating $50,000 from the Kasey Kahne Foundation to kick off the Drive to Care Campaign (http://rmhc. org/drivetocare? utm_source=all&utm_medium=all&utm_campaign=DrivetoCare). Kahne is challenging his fans and followers to visit http://www. drivetocare. org (http://www. drivetocare. org)] and help raise the $500,000 needed to put a new Ronald McDonald Care Mobile on the road in a neighborhood where high quality care for children is needed. Kasey knows that quality medical and dental care from the youngest age gives kids the green flag to a healthy and happy life. "From the first Ronald McDonald House® to the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile program, RMHC has been about providing help and resources to families. With my fan base and the Kasey Kahne Foundation on board, I think together we can do even more to help children access the care they need,” said Kahne.

The Drive to Care Campaign will raise awareness about the breadth, scope and reach of the Charity’s mobile health program, as well as raise much needed funds.

Powerful Application of NLP Technology Helps Addicts Recover From Drug and Alcohol Addiction

Powerful Application of NLP Technology Helps Addicts Recover From Drug and Alcohol Addiction

Recovering Addicts can now dramatically reduce relapse rates by using the goal setting strategies from Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). G & G Holistic Addiction Treatment Program has recently implemented NLP's "well formed outcome" programming in their treatment of recovering addicts. Addicts now have the opportunity to learn how to effectively create a productive life, one free from drugs and alcohol.

Miami, Florida (PRWEB) March 27, 2007

Relapse is a constant problem for individuals suffering from alcohol and drug dependency (http://www. addictionsearch. com). The majority of addicts, approximately 70 to 90%, who go into treatment will relapse within the first year after they complete a traditional recovery oriented program. The relapse rate of those going through a detox program alone is even higher. While treatment programming is definitely necessary, additional resources are needed to continue to support a person in their recovery.

G & G Holistic has recently implemented a new and innovative approach to reducing the relapse rates of addicts. In addition to combining holistic and traditional addiction treatment techniques, G & G Holistic is now providing training and counseling (http://www. enhancedhealing. com) to all of its clients in the effective and efficient use of NLP's "well formed outcome" strategy for setting goals. This new component of Holistic's program assists clients in learning how to choose what they want, that is, what is in alignment with their health and well-being, and also in powerfully creating a strategy to achieve that which they have chosen.

The implementation of the NLP technology at G & G Holistic is headed by Dr. Harry Henshaw, a licensed psychotherapist (http://www. enhancedhealing. com). Dr. Henshaw has been extensively trained the powerful technology Neuro Linguistic Programming and has utilized NLP techniques for years in his private practice. Dr. Henshaw believes that people do not achieve the goals they set because of a lack of ability but primarily because the goals are not well formed. According to Dr. Henshaw, assisting an addict to achieve what he wants in life, as well as in his recovery, is about a three stage process: effective planning, implementation and accountability.

According to Dr. Henshaw, many of the individuals who are addicted to drugs and alcohol are not working towards goals that are in alignment with being authentically happy and also suffer from emotional disorders like depression which is known as a dual diagnosis (http://www. dual-diagnosis. net). Many addicts are not working towards what they truly want in life but rather are generating a lot of effort and energy in avoiding what they do not want. Once addicted to drugs and alcohol they simply continue in the vicious cycle of recovery and relapse. The primary focus becomes one of merely learning how to avoid relapsing.

If addicts continue to focus on what they do not want, drugs and alcohol, they will continue to create them in their life. What we focus our attention on, according to Dr. Henshaw, will manifest itself in our lives. Training in the "well formed outcome" strategy of NLP allows the alcoholic and addict to create a life that they do want, as opposed to what they do not want, thereby effectively and efficiently planning a healthy and productive life, one that is also completely drug and alcohol free.

The applied use of the goals setting strategy (http://www. enhancedhealing. com) of "well formed outcome" from NLP is so effective in helping to reduce drug and alcohol dependency and improve recovery rates because it increases the possibility of an addict experiencing authentic happiness. Achieving a particular recovery oriented goal - or any self-stated goal - creates self-fulfillment and self worth. G & G Holistic's modern application of NLP demonstrates that an individual with a positive sense of self is less likely to return to drug and alcohol use.

The Garden Grove-based company receives the GEELA for Sustainable Building Measures and Ongoing Sustainability Projects

Garden Grove, Calif. (PRWEB) November 16, 2010

Earth Friendly Products (http://www. ecos. com), a leader in manufacturing award-winning eco-friendly cleaning products, is pleased to announce the company’s latest achievement: the Governor’s Environmental and Economic Leadership Award for Excellence in Sustainable Building Measures. Earth Friendly Products was selected to receive the award based on the company’s contributions in conserving California’s resources, protecting the environment, strengthening California’s economy and the company’s continued efforts towards zero waste and zero emissions.

The GEELA was presented to Earth Friendly Products CEO, Van Vlahakis, by Governor Schwarzenegger yesterday, November 15, 2010. At the ceremony, held in Sacramento, Earth Friendly Products was hailed for its Garden Grove facility, which, after a thorough revamp with the help of a LEED-certified architect, is hoping to produce 0% waste by 2011. The facility has reduced carbon emissions by thousands of CO2 kg per month and produces 60% of the electricity needed to manufacture the company’s award-winning, eco-friendly cleaning products by installing 252 roof-mounted solar panels. The facility has created jobs in the past year despite the economic downturn, and considers employees the #1 asset. Earth Friendly Products also seeks out green suppliers and vendors that maintain sustainable business practices, conducting a thorough screening process for eco-friendly business practices before each new partnership is forged.

“We could not be more honored or more humbled by winning the GEELA,” said Kelly Vlahakis-Hanks, Vice President of Earth Friendly Products. “Our company strives to be 100% sustainable not for glory, but to conserve the environment for future generations. Every action that we take, from eliminating salt in our products to installing solar panels on our facilities’ roofs to working towards becoming a zero waste facility by January is for the preservation of the earth. To us, receiving this award speaks to our accomplishments, as well as the growing demand from California and the entire nation for every company to be sustainable and eco-friendly.”

Earth Friendly Products is committed to preserving the environment through its manufacturing processes. The company has five facilities across the U. S. which reduces carbon emissions through shorter shipping distances. Each facility sources 100% natural, local ingredients and seeks to educate consumers on the benefits of green cleaning. “To us, green cleaning isn’t a business, but a lifestyle,” continued Vlahakis-Hanks. “We teach children as young as toddlers about eating organic foods, using less water and avoiding the chemicals found in traditional cleaning products for their own health and for the health of the world. We are partnered with Healthy Child Healthy World and many other organizations to reach as many people as possible about living an environmentally-conscious life.”

Digital Healthcare Clinical Trials iP® Software (VPDT) Used in International Pioneering Study of Treatment for Blindness

Digital Healthcare Clinical Trials iP® Software (VPDT) Used in International Pioneering Study of Treatment for Blindness

Digital Healthcare is pleased to announce the use of its innovative Clinical Trials iP® software in a pioneering study involving Verteporfin Photodynamic Therapy (VPDT) for the treatment of “wet” Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD).

Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) June 29, 2006

Digital Healthcare is pleased to announce the use of its innovative Clinical Trials iP® software in a pioneering study involving Verteporfin Photodynamic Therapy (VPDT) for the treatment of “wet” Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD). This innovative software system was developed by Digital Healthcare, the Baltimore-based clinical imaging and workflow management company.

The Clinical Trials iP® software is a sophisticated electronic platform that combines the capacity to handle the huge volumes of imaging data captured to diagnose and treat “wet” AMD, with an electronic patient care management system. After reading center staff use the system to import thousands of retinal images, data can then be electronically transferred to a network of various grading computers via a secure telemessaging facility.

In a unique partnership with three image reading centers located in The Queen’s University of Belfast, St Paul’s Eye Unit, Liverpool and Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, the company’s Clinical Trials iP® software will enable healthcare staff to analyze digital images of the retina gathered from over 3,000 patients per annum, over the next four years, in 50 regional eye units throughout the United Kingdom.

The results from this study will be used to measure the effectiveness of a specialist drug and laser therapy (Verteporfin Photodynamic Therapy) as a treatment for patients suffering from “wet” age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a disease of the retina that causes blindness in millions worldwide every year.

Professor Usha Chakravarthy of the Centers for Vision Science at Queen’s University, Belfast and Ophthalmic Consultant at Belfast’s Royal Hospitals, is one of the lead clinical investigators involved in delivering treatment for patients with “wet” AMD. “This is a defining moment in the introduction of new technologies in that it will provide robust findings on the long-term benefits of verteporfin photodynamic therapy for the “wet” form of age-related macular degeneration, which afflicts several thousand older adults annually.” said Professor Chakravarthy.

So far, over 5,000 images or angiograms from over 3,000 patients have been submitted in digital and film formats from the 50 regional treatment centers to the Central Angiographic Resource Facility (CARF) in Belfast and imported into Digital Healthcare’s Clinical Trials iP® software.

Dr Liam Patton of Queen’s University, Belfast and a manager at the CARF, said: “A key strength of the Clinical Trials iP® software is that it enables images captured from a variety of sources to be standardized and graded on a common platform. We can accept angiograms from almost any ophthalmic imaging system in use in the UK, and we also import film images. We can then use a secure electronic telemessaging system to transfer the images to the Reading Centers for grading.

The software has eliminated the need to use paper-based systems previously used for this type of work. During the grading process, there are a multitude of tools available to assist grading staff in arriving at their decisions, including grids, circles and measurement tools so that graders can manipulate and compare images. The software also includes a built-in facility to highlight “urgent” patients so that they can be promptly graded and their results transferred to a treatment centers for further investigations.”

Nick Nightingale, Applications Director at Digital Healthcare, said: “We are delighted to have been selected to provide the software for this groundbreaking study that will generate vital information to improve treatments for patients suffering from AMD, and which could also serve as a model for the assessment of new healthcare technologies.

Drug Chemist Launches Stinky Sulfur Award to Raise Health Awareness among Journalists and General Public

Drug Chemist Launches Stinky Sulfur Award to Raise Health Awareness among Journalists and General Public

Dissatisfied with the drug industry's unwillingness to acknowledge natural medicine, Shane Ellison abandoned his career as a medicinal chemist to write Health Myths Exposed and The Hidden Truth about Cholesterol Lowering Drugs. Turning in his "pink slip," Shane began a pharmaceutical "sink ship" campaign. To this end, Shane is now issuing "Stinky Sulfur Awards." He asserts that these awards will save lives.

Santa Fe, NM (PRWEB) July 9, 2007

Dissatisfied with the drug industry's unwillingness to acknowledge natural medicine, Shane Ellison abandoned his career as a medicinal chemist to write Health Myths Exposed and The Hidden Truth about Cholesterol Lowering Drugs. Turning in his "pink slip," Shane began a pharmaceutical "sink ship" campaign. To this end, Shane is now issuing "Stinky Sulfur Awards." He asserts that these awards will save lives.

To illustrate, Shane gives some moving examples. Previous award recipients would have been Merck for their pain killer Vioxx™. It was well known among scientific circles that the pain killer did more than just kill pain; according to an FDA press release, it also put people at risk for heart attack and stroke.(1) Regardless, Merck funded a publicity campaign that positioned the "COX-2" inhibitor as the safest in the history of medicine. Ellison feels that, "If the award existed during the dark Vioxx™ era, thousands could have refused the drug and avoided premature death."

Under Ellison's glaring and capable insider microscope, no book, no product, no person is safe from the Stinky Sulfur Award. If it stinks it wins. It's controversial. It's offensive. It's fun. And it ensures that our health does not get skunked by such stink.

A well-known author and University professor, a cholesterol-lowering drug pushing medical doctor turned commercial actor, and cheerleaders turned drug reps are among some of the recipients of the dubious award.

Shane is quick to assert that all of the recipients represent a real and present danger to the health of people worldwide. If you've ever popped an aspirin, swallowed an anti-depressant drug, been diagnosed with high-cholesterol, allowed the pediatrician to stab your kids with a vaccine, feared type II diabetes or "asked your doctor if the latest erection pill was right for you," then you better pay close attention to these awards. Visit www. thepeopleschemist. com/stinky. html (http://www. thepeopleschemist. com/stinky. html)

Ellison admits that not everyone is happy with the awards, especially the recipients. "While some people love the awards, others who still labor under the illusion that prescription drugs increase quality and quantity of life, oppose them," he says. But he staunchly maintains that one thing is certain. "In the face of an impending health crisis caused by the ubiquitous pharmaceutical industry, my Stinky Sulfur Awards are a potent weapon against dangerous drugs and medical policies."

Shane holds a master's degree from Northern Arizona University in organic chemistry. He founded HealthFX Nutraceuticals (www. health-fx. net) and is an internationally recognized authority on therapeutic nutrition. The Dashboard is a free utility that aggregates project data and lets Six Sigma professionals, managers and stakeholders view the progress of multiple projects simultaneously.

Minitab has also released Quality Companion 2.4, the latest update to the company’s process improvement software. The update is free to registered Quality Companion 2 users. A corresponding update to the free Quality Companion Viewer, which lets users share the information in a Quality Companion project file with anyone, also is available.

Quality Companion is used by companies around the world, including Xerox, ITT Industries, Providence Health System, and LexisNexis. Designed specifically to help professionals manage Six Sigma and quality improvement initiatives, the software provides guidance and tools that simplify every step of a project, from determining its scope to reporting on its success.

The Quality Companion Dashboard demonstrates the depth of Minitab’s commitment to meeting the needs of quality improvement professionals, says Cate Twohill, product marketing manager.

“Quality Companion is the ideal tool for managing individual Six Sigma projects,” she says. “But when a company has dozens or even hundreds of projects, leaders need a way to see what’s happening without opening every project file. We created the Dashboard to help stakeholders see, at a glance, how all of those projects are progressing.”

The Dashboard gathers and summarizes information from individual Quality Companion project files so that Master Black Belts, Champions, and stakeholders can immediately and easily find the status of each project, in a single view. By applying easy-to-use filters to the summary, leaders can answer questions such as:
Which projects are ahead of or behind schedule?  How much money has the deployment saved?  How are all of an individual’s projects doing?  And much more.

“The Dashboard makes this very easy to do,” Twohill says. “No customization or additional data entry is necessary. You just open the application, point to where your Quality Companion project files are saved, and you’ll quickly see a summarized list with essential data from each project. Open a specific project from within the Dashboard for greater detail. It’s never been easier to manage quality improvement projects.”

The Quality Companion 2.4 update provides maximum interactivity with the Dashboard, though the Dashboard will summarize projects done in any release of Quality Companion 2. Other enhancements in Quality Companion 2.4 are listed at: http://www. minitab. com/products/qualitycompanion/whatsnew. aspx (http://www. minitab. com/products/qualitycompanion/whatsnew. aspx)

Quality Companion 2.4 supports every employee involved in a company’s Six Sigma program. Green Belts and Black Belts can use the Project Roadmap™ to plan their entire project. Master Black Belts can count on the Coach feature to give their team expert guidance on which tools to select and how to use them at every step. And Champions and other executives can rely on Quality Companion to help them standardize and evaluate projects and report on their successes.

“Quality Companion makes the Six Sigma process itself more efficient,” Twohill says. “Using the right tools makes it easier for professionals to complete their projects quickly and correctly, which ultimately results in more projects, greater savings, and higher profits.”

Quality Companion 2.4 also complements Minitab’s flagship product, Minitab® Statistical Software, which quality professionals worldwide use to perform the sophisticated statistical analyses at the heart of all their Six Sigma projects.

More information on Quality Companion 2.4, including an animated product tour, is available at www. qualitycompanion. com A free, 30-day trial version is also available online or by contacting Minitab at 1-800-448-3555.

The Quality Companion Dashboard and Viewer applications also are available for free download at www. qualitycompanion. com

Michael E. Platt, M. D. Talks about POost-Partum Depression Along with Other Health Issues Due to Hormone Problems

Michael E. Platt, M. D. Talks about POost-Partum Depression Along with Other Health Issues Due to Hormone Problems

Talk show hosts from Katie Couric, Oprah, Jane Pauley to Larry King, is speaking about post-partum depression. Dr. Michael E. Platt found a solution to women's post-partum depression by balancing her hormones.

(PRWEB) May 24, 2005

Recently, there has been a lot of attention paid to the particularly disabling disorder referred to as "post-partum depression." Actress Brooke Shields, in her recent book called "Down Came the Rain," describes her own horrific experience with this problem after her pregnancy. Discussions on talk shows give an accounting of various drugs that are being utilized to treat this disorder. However, drugs are not the answer for this condition. It is strictly a hormonal problem that can be easily prevented, easily diagnosed, easily treated, and easily eliminated. Hormones control every system of the body. Currently, physicians do not receive the kind of training necessary to understand how the body operates when it comes to the critical area of hormonal balance and imbalance. The treatment of hormonal problems is woefully inadequate and, unfortunately, patients needlessly suffer as a result. Simply put, the causation of post-partum depression is related solely to a reduced amount of a hormone called progesterone. The last half of a woman's pregnancy is marked by an incredibly high amount of progesterone secreted by the placenta. This hormone is the "feel-good" hormone for women and explains why many women feel terrific during the latter part of their pregnancies. However, after a woman delivers there is a sharp decrease in the level of this hormone, resulting in the possibility of developing depression. The application of natural, bio-identical, non-synthetic progesterone in the appropriate dosage, either by skin cream or vaginal suppository, immediately eliminates the depression. A woman who has inadequate levels of progesterone often has other problems associated with pregnancy. These include difficulty with conceiving, often leading to unnecessary in-vitro fertilization procedures. Low progesterone levels cause nausea with pregnancy, miscarriages, premature births, etc. The utilization of natural, bio-identical progesterone eliminates almost all of these problems. Unfortunately, most of the physicians recommending hormones for women are gynecologists who, as a group, are particularly deficient in their understanding of natural hormones. It is recommended for those people seeking information or treatment for post-partum depression, or other pregnancy related issues, that advice be obtained from physicians who are familiar with bio-identical (non-synthetic) hormones, expressly those who emphasize hormone treatment with progesterone and not estrogen (bio-identical or otherwise). Post-partum depression, morbid obesity, attention deficit disorder, male menopause and sexual dysfunction, chronic migraines, and adult onset diabetes are just some of the medical conditions Dr. Michael Platt, M. D. has been able to treat successfully with the inclusion of natural hormone therapy in his more than 35 years of medical practice. Many of Dr. Platt's patients have come to him after years of unsuccessful or incomplete treatment by other medical doctors focused largely on a synthetic drug-based approach to the treatment of illness, drugs that often include dangerous side effects and only help manage the symptoms of each disease instead of attacking the root causes. Dr. Michael E. Platt, M. D., author of the new book Natural Hormone Therapy for Men, Women, and Children, is one of a growing number of Western medical doctors who've discovered, in their own practices, how patients can be healed and their lives made whole without the necessity of constantly resorting to either expensive and potentially dangerous prescription drugs or invasive surgical procedures. In many instances, the missing piece of the treatment puzzle can be as simple as naturally raising the levels of one or more of the body's deficient hormones, (such as raising testosterone for increased sex drive and muscle tone, including natural progesterone to combat post-partum depression, or by balancing the thyroid with the correct type of bio-identical thyroid supplement), or by decreasing the level of an overly dominant hormone, such as excess estrogen (a known cause of several cancers, including breast and uterine cancers), the overproduction of insulin, (often a major culprit in hypoglycemia, attention deficit disorder, and the inability to loose weight), and elevated adrenaline levels (a significant contributing factor in most hyperactivity and behavioral problems in children and adults). Call We Publish Books at 1-310-765-4078 or www. books1234.net for more about Dr. Platt's book on Natural Hormone therapy or to set up interviews.

With the assistance of chemists, formulators, and her own background as a makeup artist, she has created a line of mineral cosmetics that is superior in quality, variety and price, to any on the market.

The philosophy of Monave Cosmetics is to offer 100% pure makeup to women that are concerned about the mysterious ingredients that they are applying to their skin every day in the name of beauty. Sick and Tired of being Sick and Tired? It's Magic Chocolate

Sick and Tired of being Sick and Tired? It's Magic Chocolate

Sage is convinced that raw foods, in particular raw cacao, are more than just a trend. As Boulderites turn to healthy diet alternatives, this is an option that he feels won't fade.

Boulder, CO (PRWEB) November 30, 2005

Health guru Brother Sage has preached the benefits of raw food across the country, sharing his knowledge at Miss USA pageants, wellness clinics and health food stores, but when it came to raw cacao, he didn't see what the big deal was.

The word cacao is rarely seen after its transformation to the more recognizable version, cocoa, when the British failed at accurate pronunciation. After only one week of eating the unprocessed chocolate, Brother Sage set out to establish his locally-run business, Got Cacao, while educating the public that it's ok to love chocolate.

Through his company, Sage currently imports and distributes certified organic raw Peruvian cacao beans to 75 stores, juice bars and restaurants across the country, including the Vitamin Cottage (22 stores across Colorado), Boulder Co-Op, Cafe Gratitude (San Francisco), Alive and Well (Maui) and Pure Food and WIne (New York).

The success of Got Cacao in Boulder was not surprising to employees of the Boulder Co-Op. The formula is simple.

“Raw food is popular and chocolate is popular,” said Jamie Mantey, who cited books such as David Wolfe and Shazzie's “Naked Chocolate,” which offers recipes and health benefits of raw chocolate, as sources behind the increasing popularity of unprocessed foods.

Locals are not deterred by cacao's potent odor that is more like vinegar than dessert. Health food junkies are rapidly discovering that raw cacao actually is a tasty treat that can satisfy a craving and a diet.

“When people get into raw food diets, they are very particular,” said Sarah Violet, also of the Boulder Co-Op. “It's almost like a trend.”

The trend of organic chocolate is spreading in the health conscious Boulder community, and large national companies are also catching on. Bissinger's Handcrafted Chocolatier is debuting its “Bissinger's Naturals” line of chocolates at Whole Foods (2301 30th St.) this month.

Sage is convinced that raw foods, in particular raw cacao, are more than just a trend. As Boulderites turn to healthy diet alternatives, this is an option that he feels won't fade.

“I've been on the raw food journey for 27 years. I saw what happened in the '70s and now in 2005. The public can't avoid it,” Sage said.

Raw food diets are permeating the boundaries of the health world and heading into mainstream culture. Celebrities like Demi Moore, Carol Alt and Woody Harrelson are publicly proving their loyalty to raw foods, which Sage declared to be a pivotal factor in promoting these diets.

Raw foods may just now be receiving media attention, but Sage describes that the importance of pure foods stems back several hundred years.

“Raw foods have helped people around the world achieve a state that couldn't typically be achieved,” he said, adding that scientists are now gathering more evidence to support the use of raw cacao in daily diets.

According to a study from the University of California at Berkley, cacao is a medicinal form of chocolate. As a significant source of anandomide, a substance that is said to mimic effects of marijuana, cacao can also have euphoric and therapeutic effects.

In addition to euphoria, Sage felt that after a mere week of eating the cacao beans, he was thinking on a clearer, more intellectual level. His wife experienced immense physical transformations and lost over 15 pounds after adding only raw cacao to her diet.

“People are sick and tired of being sick and tired,” Sage said. As an easy remedy, he recommends eating a portion of raw cacao once or twice a day to allow the body to function free of constraints caused by illness and fatigue.

The official Got Cacao Web site, www. gotcacao. com, offers cacao recipes and urges satisfied cacao eaters to submit journals, and even videos that track their health journeys. The Web site is also devoted to sharing more benefits of chocolate, including hormonal balance and increased immunity due to live enzymes, vitamins, minerals and antioxidant compounds.

“If you have a healthy body, you are rich,” Sage said. If wealth isn't enough, he added, “Give this chocolate to a woman, and she'll love you forever.”

TriHealth, One of the Most Highly Integrated Networks Across the Nation* Implements Wireless Mobile Workstations from EnovateIT

Working closely with TriHealth, EnovateIT helps to facilitate workflow efficiency through the deployment of new technology and hardware.

Troy, MI (PRWEB) October 9, 2007

TriHealth, a nationally recognized integrated healthcare organization in Cincinnati, Ohio, announces the deployment of more than 125 wall mounted articulating arms (http://enovateit. com/pro_arm. html) and over 125 T5 point-of-care carts (http://enovateit. com/pro_com. html) from the medical technology provider EnovateIT.

The T5 Point-of-Care Technology Cart teams mobile computing ease and comfort with a high-performance power system. "Mobility is the key enabling technology in healthcare these days," says Rick Moore, Vice President and CIO of Information Systems for TriHealth. "The T5 mobile workstations and the articulating arms have brought a new level of mobility and ease of use to our busy clinicians."

The first truly ergonomic solution of its kind, the T5 was developed based on extensive research and interviews with regular users of point-of-care carts. The T5 has been proven to excel where similar cart solutions fall short, with improvements that include greater comfort for a wide range of users, maximum mobility in confined spaces, and longer-lasting power. Weighing just 70 pounds, the T5 is the lightest cart on the market and offers one of the smallest footprints available to ensure maximum mobility in tight corridors, around hospital beds, and other small spaces.

The combination of articulating wall arms with a hospital's EMR (Electronic Medical Record) ensures that the input of data is accurate, complete, and accessible when and where it is needed. EnovateIT's articulating wall arms in the TriHealth hospitals have increased the entry of positive patient identification. As a result, the EMRs are being used more effectively and efficiently in the healthcare environment.

"Working with an Integrated Network such as TriHealth has led to a long lasting partnership for both organizations. TriHealth counts on Enovate to find the best possible solutions, while incorporating proper ergonomics and functionality that meet all clinical needs," says Zac Sgro, EnovateIT's Midwest Regional Sales Manager. "Our goal is to ultimately help TriHealth concentrate solely on administering the highest level of patient care." For more than 2 years EnovateIT has developed a solid relationship with TriHealth by acting as a consultant for medical technologies & computer hardware. The CIO of TriHealth states, "The products and level of service from EnovateIT have been superior."

The Pressure Positive Company Announces New Contributing Author Program

The Pressure Positive Company Announces New Contributing Author Program

Manufacturer of massage tools combats medical misinformation on the web by inviting clinicians to submit articles on non-invasive, self-care techniques to manage muscle pain.

Gilbertsville, PA (PRWEB) April 12, 2006 –-

While an abundance of medical information is available online, its reliability has recently been called into question. According to The New England Journal of Medicine (12/29/05) scrutiny of a government sponsored website revealed that pharmaceutical companies were releasing incomplete information about clinical trials.

Longtime proponents of the consumer-driven healthcare movement, The Pressure Positive Company, a trusted name in trigger point self-care tools for 27 years, has announced a new program that encourages the dissemination of accurate and up-to-date healthcare information.

According to The Journal of Medical Internet Research, the leading peer-reviewed eHealth journal, in an article by Pamela Sieving, “…there exists a deep concern in the healthcare field…regarding the quality of medical information on the Internet.” Specifically, “…the concern centers on the quality of information identified and used by patients, their physicians and other healthcare providers.”

The Pressure Positive Company’s “Contributing Author Program” offers healthcare professionals an opportunity to present current, useful and understandable information on trigger point pain.

The program is open to licensed or certified professionals who specialize in non-invasive, self-care therapies for myofascial pain management. Contributing authors will be expert spokespersons dedicated to educating the public and healthcare community about managing trigger point pain.

“All articles are reviewed by at least one other practicing healthcare professional for technical accuracy. In this way,” said Renee Gladieux, Vice President of Sales and Marketing of the Pressure Positive Company, “we can insure the professionalism and quality of the content on the pressurepositive. com website.”

Authors will become part of the company’s educational effort that aims to provide patient/physician understanding, pain prevention and treatment compliance. All contributing authors will be identified with biographical sketches and will have descriptive links to their own medical websites.

Today, patients are no longer willing to simply let their family doctor be the driving force behind their medical care. In particular, chronic pain sufferers are active partners involved in their own medical decisions and ongoing care. Alternative and complimentary care—especially low-cost, non-invasive, non-pharmaceutical therapies—are sought after by patients. This is significant since the majority of the costs of these non-traditional therapies are paid for by patients themselves and not necessarily their health insurance carriers.

The Pressure Positive Company owner and founder Bernard “Bun” Gladieux, Jr. said, “We have always sought to provide functional, high-quality, low-cost self-care products that help people in pain take effective control of their health and well-being. These same principles guide us in our efforts to develop the educational and informational content on our website. The ‘Contributing Author Program’ seems like the perfect forum for patients and the healthcare community to come together for the benefit of both.”

For over 27 years, The Pressure Positive Company has been designing and manufacturing unique massage therapy tools for the self-care of trigger point pain for use by health professionals and patients.

No Place Like Home TV Presents “Keeping Your Family Safe”

No Place Like Home TV Presents “Keeping Your Family Safe”

No Place Like Home TV is proud to partner with Solutia to bring you this very informative television segment.

(PRWEB) May 16, 2005

Windows add beauty and light to a home. The right kind of windows can do much more. They can protect you, your family and your home from burglars, harmful UV rays, flying glass, irritating outside noises…even hurricanes. Tune into the next edition of No Place Like Home as we, with our special guest from Solutia, Inc. discuss how window systems made with KeepSafe® and KeepSafe Maximum® from Solutia, Inc. provide extraordinary protection through technology similar to that in the windshield of your car or in airplane windows. A tough protective interlayer of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) is permanently bonded between two pieces of glass, which is referred to as laminated glass. When impacted, the glass adheres to the protective interlayer preventing splintering, flying glass and exposure to the elements. KeepSafe® and KeepSafe Maximum® are considered safety glass, because, if broken, it stays in the window frame with any broken glass adhering to the PVB interlayer.

No Place Like Home is an eclectic, fast paced, half-hour television series that addresses the most important topics facing families today. No Place Like Home offers ideas and solutions for families of every variety, working their way through some of the happiest, most exciting, and perhaps most challenging times of life.

BCBSNC Promotes Seasonal Flu Shots and Waives Cost to Customers for H1N1 Vaccine

BCBSNC Promotes Seasonal Flu Shots and Waives Cost to Customers for H1N1 Vaccine

BCBSNC's annual flu shot program runs through March. BCBSNC will waive deductible and coinsurance payments for H1N1 vaccine.

Chapel Hill, N. C. (Vocus) October 5, 2009

Want to stick it to the flu? Get a flu shot (http://www. bcbsnc. com/flu). That's the message Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) is sending to promote its Stick it to the Flu Campaign (http://www. bcbsnc. com/flu).

As part of the campaign, BCBSNC will cover the seasonal flu vaccine for customers with preventive health benefits. Some customers may be charged a copayment, deductible or coinsurance, depending on their specific benefits. BCBSNC is also encouraging customers to get the separate H1N1 vaccine, and is waiving out-of-pocket costs for eligible customers.

"A flu shot takes just seconds and is the most effective way to prevent the seasonal flu or to keep from passing it on to others," said Dr. Don Bradley, senior vice president and chief medical officer for BCBSNC. "We are making it easy for our customers to get their seasonal and H1N1 flu shots by simply visiting their primary care doctor, worksite clinic or participating pharmacist in the BCBSNC network."

Along with its insured customers, BCBSNC administers health plans for companies and organizations that are self-insured (The employer pays BCBSNC to administer the plan). Employees with those self-insured companies should check with their supervisors or HR Department to determine how the seasonal and H1N1 vaccine will be covered.

BCBSNC's decision to cover the H1N1 vaccine is based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, which predicts widespread H1N1 outbreaks this fall and winter.

Once the H1N1 vaccine is available, BCBSNC customers may also go to their physician, in-network pharmacist or CVS Minute Clinic to get a covered H1N1 vaccine. Customers are advised to contact their provider to ensure the vaccine is available.

To be fully protected against the seasonal and H1N1 flu, people should get both vaccines. These may be given on the same day. The 2009 H1N1 vaccine will not replace the seasonal flu vaccine.

The (CDC) lists the following priority groups for getting the H1N1 vaccine:
Pregnant women  People who live with or provide care for infants less than 6 months of age  Health care and emergency medical services personnel  Children and young adults ages six months to 24 years  Adults ages 25 to 64 years with medical conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications The CDC projects more than 100 million doses of seasonal flu vaccine will be available during this flu season. The U. S. government expects to have 6 million to 7 million doses of the H1N1 vaccine available the first week of October and 250 million doses by year end.

Severe flu can result in pneumonia and dehydration, and can cause complications for those with chronic illnesses. According to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, every year, between 1,000 and 2,000 people die of seasonal influenza and pneumonia in North Carolina. Nationally, the CDC estimates that more than 200,000 people are hospitalized with the seasonal flu each year and that it causes 36,000 deaths annually nationwide.

In order to find out whether a worksite will have a seasonal flu shot clinic, BCBSNC customers should contact their employer. Otherwise, customers should contact their physician for an appointment or visit a participating pharmacist or CVS MinuteClinic.

Seasonal flu shots are available at these locations (while supplies last):
Physician's office -- BCBSNC will cover the seasonal flu vaccine for those customers with preventive health benefits. Some customers may be charged a copayment, deductible or coinsurance, depending on their specific benefits. Customers who receive other services in addition to the seasonal flu shot will be required to pay any applicable copayment, coinsurance or deductible amounts.  Worksite clinic -- Some customers may receive a seasonal flu shot where they work. Many employers have chosen to host worksite flu shot clinics this year at no cost to their employees. Customers of a group plan should contact their employer's Human Resources or benefits department for more information.  Participating pharmacists -- BCBSNC will cover the seasonal flu vaccine for those customers with preventive health benefits. Some customers may be charged a copayment, deductible or coinsurance, depending on their specific benefits. Eligible customers (ages 18 and older) may go to a participating, in-network pharmacist or CVS MinuteClinic to receive a seasonal flu shot. A limited number of pharmacists have contracted with BCBSNC to administer the seasonal flu shot. To find in-network pharmacists, visit www. bcbsnc. com/flu (http://www. bcbsnc. com/flu)]. About BCBSNC:
