NEVADA FIRM TO BEGIN INOCULATION PROGRAM AGAINST HIV/AIDS IN AFRICA

Las Vegas, NV (www. globaltechresource. com): While the HIV/AIDS epidemic throughout Africa shows no sign of slowing its frightening growth rate, a Las Vegas, Nevada firm is intently working to bring a growing, glimmer of hope to a continent desperately searching for solutions to the on-going, mounting, death toll. Global Tech Resource Group, Inc., (GTRG) has been granted Exclusive Distribution Agency status throughout the continent and nations of Africa to distribute "Lumoer", an immunomodulator, for the treatment of HIV/AIDS-related chronic infections and a variety of tumors and immune diseases.

The Lumoer vaccine has been researched, tested, approved and licensed by the People's Republic of China, State Food & Drug Administration, under the description of " Pseudomonas aeruginosa Vaccine - Mannos Sensitive Hemagglutination Piliated Strain (MSHA)". It is registered under PRC SFDA#S19980024, dated May 2003, to Boostitan Biologics Company of Guangdong, China for manufacturing, distribution, export and use as an immunomodulator (class II controlled medication).

Global Tech Resource Group is developing funding sources to provide inoculation treatment programs to HIV/AIDS patients within the coming months. "We are deeply inspired by the team we've assembled to address this tragic situation in Africa," said Terry Warren, a Global Tech Founder and CEO. Using revenues supported by the funding sources, the inoculation program is expected to begin in Nigeria, Africa. Dr. Stuart Quartemont, M. D., F. A.A. F.P., President and Founder of Medical Missions International - USA, International Medical Director/Founder of ICH Hospitals - Nigeria, a practicing faculty member of the Brazos Family Practice Residency and currently associated with Texas A&M University, has formally requested Lumoer vaccine from GTRG to begin inoculation treatment programs specifically related to his work in Owerri, Nigeria. Dr. Quartemont's Lumoer Vaccine treatment program will initially inoculate 2,500 patients; however, the planned program will intensify and expand the treatment efforts as increased funding supports greater momentum.

Although years of research in China have proven that Lumoer Vaccine can be very effective in cancers and other immune diseases and disorders, one of the biggest benefits of the Lumoer Vaccine treatment program proposed by GTRG is the low "cost per treated patient". In many areas of the world where HIV/AIDS and similar diseases are running rampant, many, if not most, of the poorer patients are unable to afford, and gain access to, the current, available treatments. GTRG'S treatment program using Lumoer Vaccine can inoculate patients for a fraction of the high cost "per patient treated" now in effect in many areas of Africa. The Lumoer Vaccine is not marketed nor distributed as a cure, however, after completion of the treatment program, typically about sixty days, Lumoer Vaccine has indicated a strong ability to effectively and dramatically slow or stop many immune diseases from progressing through regulating the immune responses.

Dr. Mang Yu, Ph. D. of University of California, Davis, a past recipient of the prestigious Kirschstein National Research Service Award while at Stanford University School of Medicine and an M. D. scientist involved in the research, development and licensing of the Lumoer vaccine in P. R. China, serves as the chief technical advisor/chief medical officer of Pacific Medilogics, Ltd., the Hong Kong firm owning world-wide distribution rights for the Lumoer vaccine; as allowed by the manufacturer Boostitan Biologics Company of Guangdong, China. "We also see in the near future the release of a variation on this product that could actually be given as a measure to prevent or stop disease like AIDS from spreading further." said Dr. Yu. "Our efforts in China and Thailand have proven very positive and we're looking forward to the continuation of distribution, research and on-going studies of this treatment program throughout Africa," said Martin Wong, President of Pacific Medilogics, Ltd. Pacific Medilogics has licensed GTRG to develop, expand and use various contacts and organizations in Africa to help initiate and expedite inoculation programs. Of particular focus for GTRG is to integrate with "Faith-based" organizations presently working diligently to provide many forms of service and relief.

The GTRG team effort includes the help of notable individuals assisting in the fundraising and distribution efforts for Africa. Dr. Samuel Golden, a former leading Member of South Africa's Parliament and Ambassador to Greece and Germany from South Africa and current Vice President of International Business Development with Egnatia Insurance in Athens, Greece, has personally committed to assist with the facilitation and monitoring of inoculations in South Africa. His assistance will be particularly focused and implemented through his relationships with organizations such as "In Abba's Arms", a non-profit organization working in Africa. Also joining the cause is Bishop George Dallas McKinney, of Saint Stephens Church of God In Christ, San Diego, CA. He has personally made the commitment to support Global Tech Resource Group and the Lumoer Vaccine for the Africa project. Bishop McKinney intends to spearhead organizing “faith-based” assistance through his relationships with leading ministers in the United States and various international associations. Bishop McKinney was most recently nominated for Chaplain of the U. S. Senate in 2003. On the media side, Hosanna Broadcasting Network (HBN), located in Los Angeles, CA, has committed to broadcast/telecast information regarding the upcoming Lumoer Vaccine treatment program as developments occur.

Faith and Hope in a Difficult World

Faith and Hope in a Difficult World

So You Think This is GodÂ’s Will? By Nolan Piper - Nolan Piper isn't challenging his faith. He isn't questioning his belief in Christ - or his belief in salvation and eternal life. But he does have some questions - and he asks them boldly and straight-forwardly in his book, So You Think This Is God's Will?

(PRWEB) November 7, 2004

Piper himself contracted cancer in the mid-1990s. He survived, and emerged with a clean bill of health, but in the process, he also learned one of life's very difficult lessons about the fleeting nature of the human existence. A few years later, the lesson hit home even harder: Piper's beloved brother, Trev, also contracted cancer and died in the early days of 1999.

Piper, as he readily acknowledges, was devastated by his brother's death. He has spent much of his time since reflecting on life and the nature of faith and the questions he asks in So You Think This Is God's Will? are those that all of us would ask under the same circumstances: Why - and to what purpose?

Piper, born and raised in British Columbia and now living in Kitchener, Ontario with his wife and three children, has not had his faith shaken. In fact, his faith is stronger than ever - and if there is a message in So You Think This Is God's Will?, it is this: That life, no matter its hardships, is best lived with faith, hope, love and wisdom.

This book makes a very strong case for living life on those very terms. It is dedicated, with love, to his brother.

Top 10 Pick Up Artists Of 2006 Announced

Top 10 Pick Up Artists Of 2006 Announced

ArtOfApproaching. com announces the top Pick Up Artists of the year, ranked not only by their prowess with the ladies, but also by their creativity, innovation, and willingness to teach other men how to do better with their love lives.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 31, 2006

ArtOfApproaching. com, the internet's leading website dedicated to dating advice for men, today announced on it's blog the Top 10 Pick Up Artist of 2006.

The website's webmaster, author Joseph Matthews, has been ranking the top Pick Up Artists for the last four years.

"Before I started officially ranking people, there was a lot of speculation as to who was the real deal and who wasn't," said Matthews, about his decision to rank men on their prowess with women.

"You had a lot of guys running around saying how good they were with women, but I actually started to go out and meet them and see for myself if they had the goods. Some did, some didn't. I wanted to point out the ones who did."

Ever since the release of the New York Times Best Selling book "The Game: Penetrating The Secret Society Of Pick Up Artists," there has been a lot of interest from people about the "Pick Up Artist Phenomenon."

"There are a lot of guys out there who are trying to make money teaching men how to meet women who have absolutely no business doing so," said Matthews. "Releasing the Top 10 every year was a way of highlighting the people guys should pay attention to."

The criteria for making the Top 10 list varies. First of all, candidates must have met with Matthews, or someone that he trusts, and seen them in action with women in person.

Secondly, Pick Up Artists are graded on their qualities and skills. Not only is their ability to get a woman attracted to them quickly taken into account, but their innovation, creativity, and willingness to give back to the community at large weighs heavily in the rankings.

"It's not just about whether you can get a girl to sleep with you," said Matthews. "It's about if you bring anything new to the table. If you can help men at large to improve their love lives in a healthy way that's beneficial not just for them, but for women too."

For that reason, you won't see any "sleazeballs" among Matthew's picks this year.

"It's going to be a controversial list this year," explained Matthews about his rankings. "We have a new number one, and it's not who you might expect. In addition to that, we also have a lot of new faces added to the list - some of which many aren't convinced should have been included, but I felt shook things up enough to be recognized."

Some of the people ranked this year will be familiar to readers of The Game. Some are fresh new faces. Others are old stand-bys looking to claw their way higher in the rankings.

In former years, those who've ranked highly in Matthews' Top 10 have seen their business efforts grow the following year. The number one Pick Up Artist of 2004 and 2005 - Neil Strauss, author of The Game, whom Matthews' discovered while he was still undercover and unknown - went on to release a course in 2006 that sold out in a matter of hours, netting the author a hefty seven-figure profit.

Erik Von Markovich, also known by his pick-up name "Mystery," went on to see his business grow from a small workshop service, to a multi-million dollar a year industry while being featured consistently in the top 3 of the rankings.

"I don't know if the rankings affect the business, or the business affects the rankings," said Matthews. "But regardless, it's great exposure for the people who are listed. Not all of them make money teaching others how to improve their love lives, but all of them definitely get a bump in credibility because of it. And it's not unusual to see someone venture into the commercial arena after being listed."

The top three was a close race this year. The title of number one Pick Up Artist this year goes to a man with the nick-name of Swinggcat, an under-the-radar author and dating coach based out of Los Angeles California, who rose to fame through his infamous ability to get women to have sex with him within just a few hours of meeting him - sometimes while their boyfriends were in the next room.

The number two spot goes to former champion Neil Strauss, followed closely behind by Markovich, who has recently completed a pilot for a TV show on VH1 based on his teachings.

Doulas Association of Southern California Sponsor a BOLD Fundraising Event on Labor Day Weekend

Doulas Association of Southern California Sponsor a BOLD Fundraising Event on Labor Day Weekend

On Saturday, September 2 Los Angeles will boldly go where no play has gone before -- to listen to the stories of seven women about the naked truth of childbirth in America. Based on the true stories of 118 women, the Birth on Labor Day (BOLD) event is part of a global movement that brings communities together to raise awareness about the importance of mother-friendly maternity care.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 2, 2006

On Saturday, September 2 Los Angeles will boldly go where no play has gone before -- to listen to the stories of seven women about the naked truth of childbirth in America. Doulas Association of Southern California (DASC), a non-profit community of maternity care professionals, will host a special benefit performance of the critically acclaimed theatrical hit, Birth. The event will take place at the Acapulco Restaurant, 385 N. La Cienega near Beverly Boulevard on Saturday, September 2, from 5 to 8 pm. Donations are welcome and all proceeds will benefit DASC and the Black Infant Health Program, part of the Pasadena Public Health Department.

“When you have a baby it affects your whole future,” stated Beverly Keye, a DASC member. “I wanted DASC to present this play because it reflects the voices of powerful women who can easily become disempowered in our current healthcare system. Science has shown that women who receive continuous emotional support from a doula (professional birth assistant) during childbirth are more satisfied with their birth experience and have improved health outcomes as do their newborns.

Based on the true stories of 118 women the Birth on Labor Day (BOLD) event is part of a global movement that brings communities together to raise awareness about the importance of mother-friendly maternity care. Based on the Ten Steps of the Mother-Friendly Childbirth Initiative (MFCI), an evidence-based, consensus document created by the Coalition for Improving Maternity Services, BOLD supporters are confident that current maternity care practices will improve if care providers and birthing facilities implement the recommendations of the MFCI.

Created by mother and playwright Karen Brody, Birth is powerful, simple and direct. A theatrical reading, the play melds unbridled hilarity with unexpected poignancy. The cast represents the birthing experience of a broad spectrum of women. At the corner stone of each lies a personal choice. Janet’s epidural, Jillian’s home birth, and Sandy’s cesarean section are all on display without judgment. “Maternity care is a mess and in many communities pregnant mothers’ voices are silenced,” says playwright Karen Brody. “BOLD is a community effort to encourage people to know the truth about childbirth, make informed birth choices, and for professionals in maternity care to start listening to women.” The DASC performance will be followed by a talkback session, What Does Mother-Friendly Childbirth Mean and the Ten Steps to Get There.

DASC is a non-profit professional community of doulas which recognizes the profundity of birth on the human experience and society at large, while respecting the individual needs of childbearing families. We provide a supportive forum for maintaining professional standards, continuing the education of birth and postpartum doulas, and informing the public of the benefits of doula care. To locate a doula in your area visit http://www. dascdoulas. org (http://www. dascdoulas. org) or call toll-free 877-436-8528. Sanford USD Medical Center Receives Chest Pain Center Accreditation

Sanford USD Medical Center Receives Chest Pain Center Accreditation

Accreditation Recognizes Commitment to Quality Patient Care

(Vocus) February 1, 2010

Sanford USD Medical Center once again is recognized for quality heart care. The Society of Chest Pain Centers has given full accreditation to the Chest Pain Center at Sanford USD Medical Center, making them an Accredited Chest Pain Center.

Sanford‘s Chest Pain Center has demonstrated its expertise and commitment to quality patient care by meeting or exceeding a wide set of stringent criteria and Core Measure quality indices. Recently we completed an on-site evaluation by a review team from the Society of Chest Pain Centers. Key areas in which a Chest Pain Center must demonstrate expertise include:
Integrating the emergency department with the local emergency medical system  Assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients quickly  Effectively treating patients with low risk for acute coronary syndrome and no assignable cause for their symptoms  Continually seeking to improve processes and procedures  Ensuring Chest Pain Center personnel competency and training  Maintaining organizational structure and commitment  Having a functional design that promotes optimal patient care  Supporting community outreach programs that educate the public to promptly seek medical care if they display symptoms of a possible heart attack

“Being an accredited Chest Pain Center furthers our commitment to improving patient care and providing access to a hospital that has the appropriate measures in place to care for your heart,” said Tom Stys, MD, Medical Director of Cardiology at Sanford. “We’re also working very closely with the outlying communities in our region to provide support and access to the best heart care possible.”

Heart attacks are the leading cause of death in the United States, with 600,000 dying annually of heart disease. More than five million Americans visit hospitals each year with chest pain. The goal of the Society of Chest Pain Centers is to significantly reduce the mortality rate of these patients by teaching the public to recognize and react to the early symptoms of a possible heart attack, reduce the time that it takes to receive treatment, and increase the accuracy and effectiveness of treatment.
With the rise of Chest Pain Centers came the need to establish standards designed to improve the consistency and quality of care provided to patients. The Society’s accreditation process insures centers meet or exceed quality-of-care measures in acute cardiac medicine.
About the Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPC)

The Society of Chest Pain Centers is a patient centric non-profit international professional organization focused upon improving care for patients with acute coronary syndromes and other related maladies. Established in 1998, the Society is dedicated to patient advocacy and focusing on ischemic heart disease. Central to its mission is the question, “What is right for the patient?” In answer, the Society promotes protocol based medicine, often delivered through a Chest Pain Center model to address the diagnosis and treatment of acute coronary syndromes, heart failure, and to promote the adoption of process improvement science by healthcare providers. To best fulfill this mission, the Society of Chest Pain Centers provides accreditation to facilities striving for optimum Chest Pain Center care. SCPC is headquartered in Columbus, OH.

Recently Discovered Health Benefit of Green Tea in Experimental Medicine

Recently Discovered Health Benefit of Green Tea in Experimental Medicine

More and more benefits have been shown with green tea, which is one of main ingredients in MetaboSlim. Recently, scientists demonstrate additional health benefits of green tea in preventing stroke, weight-loss properties and anti-oxidative stress in experimental animals.

Boston, MA (PRWEB) April 5, 2007

More and more benefits have been shown with green tea, which is one of main ingredients in MetaboSlim. Recently, a group of scientist at Fuji Tokoha University, Japan published their research results in Med Sci Monit (2007).

In their research, 0.5% green tea catechin extract (polyphenon) was given to rats with malignant stroke-prone spontaneously hypertensive. It is found that tea catechin intake significantly delayed stroke onset compared to the control group. The rate in blood pressure increase in the tea catechin group was significantly smaller than that in the control group. Continuous ingestion of green tea catechins from an early age prevented the development of spontaneous stroke in rats, probably by inhibiting the further development of high blood pressure at later ages.

Chinese scientists at Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guangzhou have shown that green tea extract intake is associated with increased weight loss due to diet-induced thermogenesis, which is generally attributed to the catechin epigallocatechin gallate. That catechin-polyphenols are known to be capable of inhibiting catechol-O-methyltransferase (the enzyme that degrades norepinephrine) is a possible explanation for why the green tea extract is effective in stimulating thermogenesis by epigallocatechin gallate to augment and prolong sympathetic stimulation of thermogenesis. Knowledge about thermogenesis-induced weight loss produced by green tea's epigallocatechin gallate and its ability to inhibit catechol-O-methyltransferase is important for health benefits and for prolonging the action of norepinephrine in the synaptic cleft. Similar findings were published recently by Dr. Diepvens at Department of Human Biology, Maastricht University, The Netherlands in American Journal of Physiology. In this publication, positive effects on body-weight management have been shown using green tea mixtures. Green tea, by containing both tea catechins and caffeine, may act through inhibition of catechol O-methyl-transferase, and inhibition of phosphodiesterase. Here, the mechanisms may also operate synergistically.

In addition, tea catechins have antiangiogenic properties that may prevent development of overweight and obesity. Furthermore, the sympathetic nervous system is involved in the regulation of lipolysis, and the sympathetic innervation of white adipose tissue may play an important role in the regulation of total body fat in general.

Job Scheduler 3.2 Reduces Risk of Job Failure; Ensures Smooth Execution of Scheduled Database Maintenance Tasks 24 X 7

(PRWEB) October 15, 2004

Embarcadero Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: EMBT), a provider of data lifecycle management solutions, today announced the release of Embarcadero® Job Scheduler™ 3.2, a powerful cross-platform job management tool that automates database maintenance and other routine tasks. By expanding cross-platform support to include MySQL®, Embarcadero Job Scheduler 3.2 fills an industry void for critical third-party tools, further driving the adoption of the MySQL platform. It is the one of the first major third-party job automation tools to support both the MySQL platform and Oracle® Database 10g, allowing database administrators to schedule tasks on the latest commercial and open source technologies.

“Our business is increasingly reliant on multiple enterprise applications to run critical components of our operations and collect important customer and market information,” said Albert Prast, chief information officer at Rotech Healthcare, Inc. “This requires processing complex business flows, incorporating both database and operating system batch jobs. Embarcadero Job Scheduler is a reliable scheduling solution that provides greater automation for our environments and expands database coverage to allow us to accomplish our objectives more quickly and easily.”

With Embarcadero Job Scheduler 3.2, database administrators have a reliable cross-platform enterprise scheduling solution that helps boost productivity and implement best practices. Job Scheduler 3.2 streamlines automated job runs to help prevent failures that may otherwise result from maintaining databases in complex IT environments. The Health Ranger has released a new rap song with music video called "Just Say No to GMO." Written and performed by the Health Ranger, this song aims at exposing the dangers of genetically modified foods.

Tucson, AZ (Vocus) October 15, 2010

In support of Non-GMO month, the Health Ranger has released a new rap song with music video called "Just Say No to GMO." Written and performed by the Health Ranger, this new song takes aim at the biotech industry by exposing the dangers of genetically modified foods while promoting the Non-GMO Project Verified logo that helps consumers identify foods that are safe to eat.

The music video can be viewed on the NaturalNews. TV video site at:
Http://naturalnews. tv/v. asp? v=B459FF2B150FDF4651302A60993D9CF3

It is also available on YouTube at:
Http://www. youtube. com/watch? v=HnN6FFjZBZQ

The video features rap lines from Jeffrey Smith, executive director of the Institute for Responsible Technology at ResponsibleTechnology. org, a non-profit educational group that teaches consumers about the dangers of genetically engineered foods. IRT also supports mandatory labeling of GMO foods.

The "Just Say No to GMO" song can be downloaded as a free MP3 file at http://www. naturalnews. com/NoGMO

That same page offers song lyrics, ringtones, videos, commentary and information resources where consumers can learn more about the dangers of GMO foods.

"Just Say No to GMO" is the fifth song in Mike Adams' album "Beyond All Reason," available at: NaturalNews. com/Music

"I'm really excited to be able to sing about the dangers of GMOs and help alert people to what's really in their foods," Adams said. "This is an issue that touches the lives of everyone. Genetically engineered foods have invaded our food supply, and people have a right to know what that means to their health."

Reaction to the song has been strongly positive:

"Just say no to GMO is the Battle Hymn for our new Organic Republic. Take action against Monsanto and their mad scientists and indentured politicians." - Ronnie Cummins, Director, Organic Consumers Association at OrganicConsumers. org

"Mike's Anti-GMO rap is not only great music, it's just the kind of creative way we need to get the message out to people who may not even know they are eating dangerous genetically modified organisms every day. Great job Mike!" - Jeffrey Smith, executive director, Institute for Responsible Technology at ResponsibleTechnology. org

"Mike Adams has combined his talents of honest health reporting and surprising music composition to create a song that is a modern call to action against the dangerous and imminent genetic modification of our entire food supply." - Kevin Gianni, founder, the Renegade Health Show at RenegadeHealth. com

Conference on Eve of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day Seeks To Shape New Strategies for Stopping HIV/AIDS Surge Among Blacks in Massachusetts

Conference on Eve of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day Seeks To Shape New Strategies for Stopping HIV/AIDS Surge Among Blacks in Massachusetts

On Friday, February 6th, the eve of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, the Boston-based Multicultural AIDS Coalition (MAC) will host "Black Communities & HIV" - the first of a four-part Black HIV/AIDS Conference Series developed to highlight local HIV disparities and explore the infrastructure for slowing the surge of HIV among Blacks in the state.

Boston, MA (PRWEB) February 5, 2009

The face of HIV/AIDS has shifted dramatically over the past 25 years, evolving from what was once considered a disease affecting only gay white men, into a major public health crisis within communities of color. In Massachusetts, Black and Latino residents are only 12% of the state's population, yet now account for over 50% of all persons living with HIV. A majority of new infections each year are among people of color, with many having delayed testing long enough to already have progressed to later stages of the disease. Among women, roughly 70% of all cases are Black and Latina residents. These statistics are similar to Black communities throughout the nation.

February 7th is National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, an annual occasion designed to encourage Black Americans to get tested and know their HIV status. On the day before, Friday, February 6th, from 8:30 a. m. -5:00 p. m. at the Copley Marriott hotel, the Boston-based Multicultural AIDS Coalition (MAC) will host "Black Communities & HIV" - the first of a four-part Black HIV/AIDS Conference Series developed to highlight local HIV disparities and explore the infrastructure for slowing the surge of HIV among Blacks in the state.

"It is time for a critical look at how well HIV/AIDS services are meeting the needs of Black residents," said Gary Daffin, Executive Director of MAC. "Massachusetts has always been at the vanguard of high quality HIV/AIDS prevention and care. Our goal is to continue that tradition by examining our strengths and weaknesses in fighting HIV in Black communities across the state."

Major sponsors of the conference are the state Dept. of Public Health's Infectious Disease bureau, the Boston Public Health Commission's 'State of Emergency' initiative, and Fenway Health. Speakers include state Commissioner of Public Health, John Auerbach; Boston's chief medical officer Dr. Nancy Norman; Dr. Valerie Stone of Mass. General Hospital; Georgia Simpson-May, director of the state Office of Health Equity; Dr. Johnnie Hamilton-Mason, director of the doctoral program at Simmons School of Social Work; Harold Cox, Associate Dean at Boston University School of Public Health, and others. Participants are expected from across the state.

Fitness4Diabetics. com Offers Customized Nutrition and Exercise Coaching for People with Diabetes

Fitness4Diabetics. com Offers Customized Nutrition and Exercise Coaching for People with Diabetes

Fitness4Diabetics. com provides one-on-one exercise and nutrition coaching for people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Working in partnership with member's physicians, coaches work with diabetics who want to achieve and maintain healthy lifestyles. Coaching team is comprised of Certified Diabetic Educators including nurses, registered dietitians and exercise physiologists.

New York City, NY (PRWEB) February 22, 2007

Whether you are a weekend warrior, a serious athlete or a person with diabetes who wants to improve your lifestyle through an integrated exercise and nutrition program, Fitness4Diabetics. com's team of Certified Diabetes Educators (CDEs) would like to become your personal fitness coach.

Fitness4Diabetics. com provides one-on-one exercise and nutrition coaching and support for people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes who want to achieve and maintain healthy lifestyles in partnership with a team of CDEs comprised of nurses, registered dietitians and exercise physiologists.

Fitness4Diabetics. com Founder and CEO David Weingard (http://www. Fitness4Diabetics. com/about-us. html), who is a Type 1 diabetic and one of the few diabetics in the world to complete an Ironman triathlon competition, said, "Our goal is to empower people with diabetes to exercise regularly and improve their nutrition plan, lower their A1C level (average blood glucose) and minimize the health consequences of the disease. The Fitness4Diabetics. com coaches (http://www. Fitness4Diabetics. com/about-us. html) support our members in adopting a healthy lifestyle incorporating exercise and nutrition -- that can be integrated within their lives.

"The two most important things that people with diabetes can do to minimize the disease's negative health consequences, besides taking medication, is to improve their fitness and nutrition," Weingard said.

Fitness4Diabetics. com coaches use Internet and mobile technologies to stay in touch with clients on a regular basis. The coaches also hold bi-monthly web seminars (http://www. fitness4diabetics. com/diabetes-exercise-and-nutrition-cde-coaches-schedule-health-web. html) and distribute e-newsletters to share information and answer specific questions. In early February, Fitness4Diabetics. com offered a webinar on heart disease and diabetes and has scheduled a Feb. 21 webinar on diabetes and exercise. Other webinar topics include March 6, The Danger of Fad Diets; March 21, Strength Training and Diabetes; April 3, Goal Setting, and April 18, Stress Management and Diabetes. Subscriptions to the e-newsletters and web seminars are available at no charge by logging onto Fitness4Diabetics. com and joining the subscriber list.

Fitness4Diabetics. com's core program (http://www. Fitness4Diabetics. com/the-plan. html) includes a health assessment with input and guidance from each client's physician; customized exercise and nutrition coaching for four months; referrals to approved personal trainers; e-mail and phone support, and progress and results reports that are provided to each client's physician. Fitness4Diabetics. com also offers exercise-only and nutrition-only plans as well as maintenance plan for clients who have completed the core program.

Through Internet and mobile technologies, Fitness4Diabetics. com is able to offer their coaching services nationwide. "Normally, professional guidance is limited by the geographic location of caregivers, multiple on-site visits to specialists and is not integrated as part of a holistic treatment program," Weingard said. "For many people with diabetes, an integrated exercise and nutrition program with a continuous support system can be cost prohibitive."

Fitness4Diabetics. com will work with serious athletes training to maximize their performance at periodic events; weekend warriors who engage periodically in demanding sports; people who regularly work out at their health clubs or homes, or fitness "wannabes" who are convinced they need to lose weight and increase their physical activity but need guidance and encouragement.

"Our coaching team will prepare integrated exercise and nutrition plans that are customized to each diabetic's unique medical situation and goals," Weingard said.

"We want to work with clients to help them realize their goals of athletic achievement, exercise routine, weight loss, lowered A1C levels and reduced blood glucose fluctuations."

Additional information is available at Fitness4Diabetics. com or by calling 1-866-411-0254.

Delray Beach, FL (PRWEB) September 5, 2006

Available the first week of September, Gut Help: Guide to Breaking Free of IBD and IBS by author/consultant Stephen Demirjian, takes a groundbreaking, non-surgical approach to fighting digestive disorders such as Crohn’s, colitis and IBS. Based on the author’s Gut Help™ program that restored his health and freedom, the book offers a comprehensive method with a focus on mental and social factors in addition to the physical aspects.

Gut Help: Guide to Breaking Free of IBD and IBS (available at www. guthelp. com) is the result of Demirjian’s twenty years of first-hand experience with digestive illness. The book’s cover, which depicts Demirjian walking across a street with a toilet chained to his leg, is representative of the challenges that he himself faced as a victim of colitis. “For me, that sums up what living with a digestive illness feels like,” he says. “It was relentless, and with no cure available, it was robbing me of my life on a daily basis. I decided I had to do more for my health.”

Eight years of his own trial-and-error research with diets, probiotics and medications allowed Demirjian to create the Gut Help™ program that he details in the book. In addition to a daily regimen, the book offers positive motivation and helpful tips that can allow people to overcome roadblocks and gain control of their health.

Approximately 37 million Americans suffer from Crohn’s, colitis and IBS. These people feel the everyday impact on their working life, social activities and well-being. Plagued with symptoms such as painful bloating, cramps, constipation and diarrhea, those who suffer often struggle with embarrassment, frustration, and feelings of isolation and depression.

Demirjian knows that living a “normal” life with digestive illness is often extremely difficult, but he hopes his new book will have a positive impact. “My incredible improvements are meant to be a guide for patients and their doctors,” he says, “so that others may break free in a far shorter time.”

Mr. Demirjian now divides his time between speaking engagements and his personal coach/consultant service, GH Consulting.

The book, Gut Help: Guide to Breaking Free of IBD and IBS, and Demirjian’s consulting services can be ordered at www. guthelp. com.

More People Eligible For a Roth IRA in 2007, Advises FindAGoodCPA. com

More People Eligible For a Roth IRA in 2007, Advises FindAGoodCPA. com

Roth IRAs provide individuals with the unique opportunity to contribute money into a retirement account that grows tax-free. For the first time since being introduced in 1998, the income limitation for Roth IRAs has been increased, allowing more people to contribute to a Roth IRA in 2007.

Woburn, MA (PRWEB) May 21, 2007

2007 marks the tenth year that Roth IRAs have been in existence. The IRS has announced that for the first time since being introduced back in 1998, the income threshold limiting the number of people eligible for this tax-free investment opportunity has increased. Andrew D. Schwartz CPA, founder of FindAGoodCPA. com (www. FindAGoodCPA. com), comments on Roth IRAs.

What Is A Roth IRA?
IRA stands for Individual Retirement Account. Before the introduction of the Roth IRA, only one type of IRA was available. Money contributed to a traditional IRA may or may not be tax deductible, but always grows tax-deferred. That means individuals will owe income taxes on money withdrawn from these accounts down the road.

"With a Roth IRA, you forego a tax deduction today in exchange for the government's promise of tax-free growth. Assuming the rules don't change between today and when you retire, you won't owe a dime in taxes on distributions taken from your Roth as long as you've owned a Roth IRA for at least 5 years and amounts withdrawn are taken after you reach the age of 59 1/2 or are used for up to $10,000 towards first time home buyer expenses," explains Andrew Schwartz CPA, founder of FindAGoodCPA. com (www. FindAGoodCPA. com), a site where taxpayers can locate a tax professional in their metropolitan area based on the professional's specialty.

Roth IRAs Are Not Available to Everyone
An interesting trend of recent tax law changes is that many of the newer tax breaks aren't available to all taxpayers any more. The Roth IRA is no exception.

Since their introduction ten years ago, taxpayers can only contribute the full amount to a Roth IRA if their Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) did not exceed $95,000 if single or $150,000 if married. No contribution was allowed for single individuals whose AGI surpassed $110,000 and for married couples whose AGI surpassed $160,000.

From 1998 through 2006, this phase-out range has held steady. A pro-rata contribution is allowed for years that a person's AGI falls within the applicable phase-out range.

4 Percent Jump
For the first time in ten years, the income limitation for Roth IRAs has increased. The phase-out range for single individuals as well as for married couples jumps by four percent in 2007.

According to the IRS in Rev. Proc. 2006-53, "for taxable years beginning in 2007, the applicable dollar amount [to begin to phase out a Roth IRA] for married taxpayers filing a joint return is $156,000. The applicable dollar amount for all other taxpayers (except married taxpayers filing separately) is $99,000." The phase-out range continues to be $10,000 for married couples and $15,000 for single individuals.

Increased IRA Contributions
The amount you can contribute is on the rise as well. While the maximum contribution into your IRAs remains at $4,000 for 2007, it is slated to increase by 25% to $5,000 for 2008. Anyone 50 or older by December 31st can sock away an additional $1,000 per year into their IRA.

"And remember, you have until April 15, 2008 to contribute to your Roth or traditional IRA for 2007," says Schwartz. "And thanks to the recent four percent increase in the phase-outs, you have a little better odds of qualifying for a Roth IRA in 2007."

FindAGoodCPA. com, a site where taxpayers can interact with CPAs who specialize in a variety of niches such as healthcare, real estate professionals, lawyers, IRS problem resolution, and QuickBooks. Hawaii's First Weight Loss Camp for Children to Open This Summer

Hawaii's First Weight Loss Camp for Children to Open This Summer

Wellspring Hawaii is Latest Addition to Leading Youth Weight Loss Organization

Hilo, HI (PRWEB) April 16, 2007

Healthy Living Academies, the leading organization of treatment programs for overweight and obese youth, today announced the opening of Wellspring Hawaii, the first summer weight loss camp in Hawaii, a state where nearly one third of all children is considered overweight or obese.

Wellspring Hawaii will serve young men and women ages 13-18, with campers expected from Hawaii and the mainland, as well as from Asia, Australia, and Europe. Campers will benefit from decades of scientific research and the unprecedented weight loss outcomes demonstrated by thousands of young people at Healthy Living's six other summer camps and two year-round boarding schools.

"What makes Wellspring so successful is that we address the combination of factors that lead to weight gain and interfere with long-term success at weight loss," said Dr Daniel S. Kirschenbaum, Healthy Living Academies clinical director and professor at Northwestern University Medical School. "Through a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy, and an incredibly supportive and enjoyable introduction to healthy eating habits and daily activities, our prior evaluation studies indicate that campers at Wellspring Hawaii can expect to lose about four pounds per week while enrolled, and continue to lose weight after returning home."

"Wellspring Hawaii campers will not only receive culinary instruction and develop greater self-awareness of what they eat, they will also experience the many great activities Hawaii has to offer," said Todd Duncan, program director. "Campers will be able to surf, climb, hike, canoe and participate in a range of team sports and aerobics classes."

Wellspring Hawaii is a program of Healthy Living Academies. To learn more about Wellspring Camps visit www. wellspringcamps. com. Why America is Losing the Obesity War – Medical Doctor Kristann Heinz Recommends Kettlebell Exercise as Effective Way to Combat Obesity Epidemic

Why America is Losing the Obesity War – Medical Doctor Kristann Heinz Recommends Kettlebell Exercise as Effective Way to Combat Obesity Epidemic

Medical doctor Kristann Heinz joins growing group of health professionals fighting war on obesity by advocating kettlebell exercises for effective fat loss. Dr. Heinz to assist in training kettlebell instructors to help meet growing demand for quality kettlebell instruction.

St. Paul, MN (PRWEB) September 26, 2004 -

Why is a medical doctor, registered dietician – and mother of a young child – taking time out to assist in training kettlebell instructors at the Russian Kettlebell Challenge Certification Workshop in St. Paul, Minnesota, October 1 – October 3, 2004? http://www. dragondoor. com/wpkb10.html (http://www. dragondoor. com/wpkb10.html).

Because Dr. Heinz sees kettlebell http://www. russiankettlebell. com/ (http://www. russiankettlebell. com/) exercise as one of the premier ways to make a difference in America’s war against obesity – a war we are currently losing, with two out of three American now overweight. And Dr. Heinz is on a mission to help America start winning the obesity war.

An accomplished martial artist and avid fitness enthusiast, Dr. Heinz has experimented with most popular fat-burning regimes, from gym workouts to jogging. But the doctor hasnÂ’t found any work out more effective than kettlebell exercise for quick fat loss. Another great benefit of kettlebell exercise, according to Dr. Heinz, will be enhanced energy and well-being:

“Exercise has been shown to positively impact your psychological well-being. It’s been shown to be as effective as taking Prozac, if you can exercise three to four times a week. I have found kettlebell training can restore energy levels and leave one feeling physically and emotionally recharged.”

To get good results with kettlebells, it’s important to get good kettlebell instruction. To meet the growing national need for quality kettlebell instruction, Pavel and his publisher Dragon Door Publications now conduct kettlebell instructor certifications, the first of their kind in the US. Dr. Heinz is one of many professionals who now contribute their time to ensuring that kettlebell training becomes widely available in America – so we can begin finally winning the war against obesity.

Early Election Results Are in: Cats Rule!

Early Election Results Are in: Cats Rule!

The results are close: Cats outnumber dogs in American homes by 11 million.

Novato, CA (PRWEB) September 1, 2004

The results are close: Cats outnumber dogs in American homes by 11 million (77 million cats and 65 million dogs, according to the 2003-04 APPMA Pet Owner Survey). Best-selling authors and founders of the Angel Animals Network, Allen and Linda Anderson, decided to sponsor a contest to see why Cats Rule! The results are included in the AndersonsÂ’ new book, ANGEL CATS: DIVINE MESSENGERS OF COMFORT (New World Library, September 2004). While dogs get more credit, cats have proven to be every bit the equal of their canine brethren as humankindÂ’s best friends. ANGEL CATSÂ’ true stories show the extraordinary ways in which these fascinating creatures (believed to be gods in ancient Egypt) respond to human need in health-giving, emotionally rewarding, spiritually uplifting, and comic ways.

True stories from this collection of forty include:

Paprika, the kitten who saved a little Hungarian girl and her family from being arrested by Russian soldiers in World War II,

Molly and Miss Minnie, the mother/daughter cat team who, according to a cardiologist, acted as “pacemakers” for a woman with undiagnosed heart problems,

Scooby, the charismatic cat with a hair-raising penchant for brunettes,

Smokey, the family cat whose connection with out-of-town family members is so strong that he signals when they are in distress and has never been wrong,

Monster and O-fer, two playful cats who brought major league baseball player, Brian McRae, out of a slump during a losing season with the Chicago Cubs.

Brief meditations interweave with the stories in this gift book. Also included is information such as the fact that a cat’s purr is the same frequency as ultrasound waves that increase bone density and strengthen and heal fractures. An “Ask Cuddles” section at the end of each chapter answers (from a cat’s lofty viewpoint) frequently asked questions about our fabulous feline friends.

Praise for Angel Cats:

"Angels come to us in many ways. Some are never identified, some come to us and we donÂ’t even know they changed our lives, maybe even saved us, until there is a realization. This book is enlightening and will make you take many a close look at your 'angel.'"

— Tippi Hedren, actress and animal activist

"As a believer and one who lives the message, my heart was touched by Angel Cats. I have long realized that it is not an accident that three-quarters of our 'lifeline' is 'feline.' So read, laugh, cry, and become a more complete human being through the angel cats and the lifeline they provide."

--BERNIE SIEGEL, M. D., author of 365 PRESCRIPTIONS FOR THE SOUL and LOVE, MEDICINE & MIRACLES

"In Angel Cats, it is not the 'fog' but the ‘love’ that comes in on little cat feet. What a delightful collection of stories! There are stories here that warm the heart and that set the soul to pondering; hmmm, are these wings I see in dreamlike wisps coming off of my cat’s shoulders? After you finish these stories, you won’t have to wonder anymore – you’ll be convinced. Thank you, thank you, Allen and Linda, for continuing to remind us of our spirit connection to animals."

--SUSAN CHERNAK MCELROY, author of ALL MY RELATIONS and ANIMALS AS TEACHERS AND HEALERS

"The Andersons have captured with warmth and love the majesty of cats through stories of the familiar and the extraordinary."

--JENNIFER CONRAD, DVM, director and founder of the Paw Project

Seattle Cyclists Donate 834 Bikes to Katrina Relief

Seattle Cyclists Donate 834 Bikes to Katrina Relief

With many opportunities to contribute to the hurricane relief effort, Seattle cyclists found a unique way, over the past two weekends, to help evacuees get their lives rolling again by donating 834 bikes and assorted cycling gear to evacuees in Louisiana and on local college campuses.

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) November 10, 2005

With many opportunities to contribute to the hurricane relief effort, Seattle cyclists found a unique way, over the past two weekends, to help evacuees get their lives rolling again by donating 834 bikes and assorted cycling gear to evacuees in Louisiana and on local college campuses.

The Katrina Bikes Partnership Project, orchestrated by Seattle cyclist Beryl Fernandes, and Louisiana hurricane evacuee, Jerome Ringo, Chairman of the Board of the National Wildlife Federation, along with the help of Seattle Police, Seattle Parks and Recreation, Seattle Public Schools, Seattle Bike Touring Club and public groups in Baton Rouge, collected the bikes over the last weekend of October and first weekend of November with the help of over 200 local volunteers, 33 Seattle area bike mechanics and more than 15 community partners.

“We are thrilled with the generosity of the Seattle community,” said organizer Beryl Fernandes whose group of volunteers not only collected, repaired and washed bikes over the past two weekends, but picked up bikes from elderly donors, helped feed other volunteers and even attached over 400 notes written to bike recipients by Seattle elementary school students. The notes will accompany the bikes to their recipients in Louisiana. “The volunteer support was amazing,” said Fernandes. “The bikes were coming in fast and furious toward the end of the day on Sunday. We couldn’t have done it without their help.”

Among Sunday’s volunteers was 13-year-old Brittany Caroll-Watts of Seattle’s Austin Foundation, a non-profit group that promotes health and fitness values to at-risk youth in the Seattle community. “I came in and thought; wow, that's a lot of bikes. This is such a great program, it just shocked me to see how many people donated bikes,” said Caroll-Watts, who is an eighth grader at University Prep and following graduation hopes to attend either MIT or Princeton.

“Sometimes you don't stop to think about how the loss of a bike can effect people,” said Katrina Bikes volunteer and Austin Foundation founder, Willie Austin, 47, of Queen Anne. “In times of a disaster, bikes can be one of the best ways of getting around your city,” added Austin who hopes that his kids can use the experience as a catalyst to a lifetime of volunteerism. “This brings a realization that something like this can happen to them. It helps the kids put themselves in someone else’s shoes and hopefully gives them motivation to continue helping people in their own community.”

The Katrina Bikes project is one of several programs around the country that have already collected, shipped and distributed several thousand bicycles to residents of hurricane-affected communities. In September, with the help of actress Sandra Bullock, cyclists in Austin, Texas donated over 1,000 bikes in less than two days for hurricane relief. A similar program in Boulder, Colorado recently collected over 300 bikes for evacuees in Baton Rouge.

Will Avian Influenza Conference Come Up With Any Solutions?

Will Avian Influenza Conference Come Up With Any Solutions?

A scientific conference on the spread of bird flu by wild fowl will hopefully present some useful findings. The world needs solutions, not just studies and papers.

Ballwin, MO (PRWEB) May 31, 2006

[PRWEB] May 31, 2006 -- About 300 scientists from around the world are meeting in Rome May 30 and 31 to discuss the role of wild birds in the spread of the A/H5N1 virus. The International Scientific Conference on Avian Influenza and Wild Birds is jointly sponsored by United Nations agencies the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) and the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE).

Scientists will present papers on their findings.

"This conference of course sounds boring, and it may be a total waste of time, but maybe the sharing of information will result in some real progress, says Richard Stooker, author of How to Protect Yourself and Your Family From Bird Flu. "I hope the scientists are attend with an attitude that they need to come up with solutions. Studying the problems is part of that, of course -- but the world needs some answers on how to stop the spread of bird flu. Many of these scientists will probably be reporting back to governmental public health agencies. What will they tell them?"

"I wouldn't be surprised if the most productive part of the conference is a meeting between two researchers in the hallway. That's why I'm hoping they attend with an open mind oriented toward finding solutions."

Richard Stooker researched the bird flu virus A/H5N1 and created a start to finish proprietary 7 Perimeter Immune Defense System that explains how to defeat bird flu at every stage. He also provides a list of the Super Immunity 7 herbs and supplements.

More information on how you can learn How to Protect Yourself and Your Family is available at the author's website and blog.

Planktos Ecorestoration CO2 Solutions Embraced by Top Industry/DOE Enviro Conference

Planktos Ecorestoration CO2 Solutions Embraced by Top Industry/DOE Enviro Conference

Silicon Valley ecorestoration firm Planktos, Inc. saluted for carbon neutralizing premier US energy industry environmental meet, and offering participants the most promising creative response to our climatic and economic woes.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) February 1, 2007

For the second year running, Planktos Inc. (OTCBB:DTMC) has been recognized for its innovative technical and economic contributions to the 10th annual Electric Utilities Environmental Conference (EUEC 2007). Held in Tucson, Arizona from January 21-24, this eminent gathering of environmental executives, policy makers, NGOs and technology vendors was galvanized this year by spreading concern over climate change and the urgent need for creative response.

Jointly organized by the US Department of Energy, Edison Electric Institute, Electric Power Research Institute and C TRADE, this year's EUEC enjoyed an abrupt 20% surge in participation as nearly 1300 conferees from around the world packed the hall and workshops, especially the events concerning global warming.

As in 2006, Planktos was publicly honored for making the EUEC carbon neutral with a 2000 ton donation of ecorestoration carbon credits from its US Department of Energy registry. This year, however, Planktos drew the most appreciative attention for its heartening progress reports and methodology contributions in the technical sessions.

"Many things have changed for Planktos since we addressed this group in 2006," said William Coleman, Planktos COO. "Investors and partners have come forward as never before; our staff has grown and diversified; and we have purchased a major research ship from the Bermuda Biological Station for our ocean restoration/carbon sequestration work in the Pacific this year. Our climate forest projects in central Europe are now officially approved and underway, and we have joined the California Climate Action Registry to help ensure that our ecorestoration work qualifies for certification under California's new Global Warming Solutions Act. All these developments have been deeply encouraging and apparently boosted our stock price, too, so we begin 2007 in very fine shape to deliver the highest volume, lowest cost, and above all greenest CO2 mitigation ever achieved."

Planktos is dedicated to restoring the declining health of our most vital marine and terrestrial ecosystems, which return the favor by sequestering enormous quantities of atmospheric CO2 for centuries or more at very little expense. Full restoration of the open ocean's plankton to known 1980 levels, for example, would reduce our annual CO2 surplus by 3~4 billion tons and cancel out roughly half of all manmade emissions each year. Moreover, the technology is extremely economical because it merely replenishes the starving ocean with a little natural iron dust. Iron is a critical micronutrient for all plant growth and photosynthesis and the ocean's tiny plankton plants have been decimated in recent years as their usual wind-borne iron dust supply has dwindled by a third. Replenishing this shortfall not only revives the plankton, buffers ocean acidity, and helps to cool the sky, it recharges the entire marine food chain for fisheries, whales and sea life of every kind.

Coleman adds, "Like many pioneers, our initial challenges are as much educational as technical - informing the public and policy makers that we have found a potent creative solution where no one was even looking before. The Arizona desert may seem a strange place to preach the virtues of plankton power, but our presentations at influential venues like EUEC are truly crucial to this work. The more decision makers who awaken to the fact that Planktos-style ecorestoration means we can turn the corner on global warming and still enjoy a healthy economy, the closer we are to meaningful action both here and in DC."

For more information on the science, tech and political economy of ecorestoration, please visit Planktos at http://planktos. com (http://planktos. com)
