Prozestra Natural Progesterone Cream Paving Way for Menopausal Relief

Prozestra Natural Progesterone Cream Paving Way for Menopausal Relief

A revelation in the treatment and relief of common menopausal symptoms has arrived. A brand new, all-natural progesterone cream called Prozestra is turning heads, because it is a proven and effective method of balancing the body's ratio of estrogen to progesterone in a matter of 2-6 weeks of daily, topical application.

Manalapan, NJ (PRWEB) November 1, 2009

More women are being turned onto the newest revelation in menopausal relief: natural progesterone creams. At the forefront of these eye-opening breakthroughs in menopausal treatment methods is a brand new and all-natural progesterone cream, Prozestra. Created by the same leading nutraceutical company that developed and researched Menoquil (a botanical alternative that effectively treats all 34 symptoms of menopause), Pharmaxa Labs, heralds the next big step in nonprescription menopausal care with this revolutionary topical cream.

For women who are afflicted by menopause, they already know that there are not that many proven treatment methods. From top to bottom, the most common treatment methods for addressing the symptoms of menopause are as follows.

Synthetic hormone therapy drugs, which effectively mimic the receding amounts of hormones that the body used to naturally create, but that dwindle with the onset of menopause, creating the many associated symptoms. Such drugs have been frequently the subject of much lambasting and debate because the medical community is split on their effectiveness and long term safety.

Then there are newer drugs that are non-FDA approved and lab-created, called Bio Identical Hormones. These are, at present, to be considered very risky and have not yet been proven to help alleviate any of the symptoms. And, furthermore, many doctors advise against taking such hormones until further research concludes both their safety and effectiveness, with regards to treatment.

Finally, there are a wide variety of different nonprescription and holistic remedies, many that don't back up their performance with clinical or scientific proof.

Then there are the newest treatment methods: natural progesterone creams, such as Prozestra.

At the same time, there are many companies that are creating, marketing and selling natural progesterone creams that are not using proven ingredients, and that don't adhere to the strict USP-grade standards of manufacturing. Essentially bringing into the question the effectiveness and safety of such products.

Prozestra spokesperson, Cary Johnson, warns consumers not to be duped into buying such creams from unrecognized and non-reputable companies, simply on a whim.

"The internet can be both the savior and the ultimate scammer when it comes to nonprescription products and remedies," Johnson says. "When looking into products like an all-natural progesterone cream, you always want to assure that they adhere to the strictest standards of manufacturing, and that the company making the product is a respected and established one that has thoroughly researched the active ingredients contained within its products in order to provide the most effective and safest treatment method."

Indeed, the clinical studies on the active ingredients in Prozestra speak for themselves.

Research into the effectiveness of Natural Progesterone Creams has concluded that natural progesterone is one of the hormones produced by the ovaries. Natural progesterone balances estrogen levels and the actions produced by estrogen. Progesterone deficiency causes several health issues for both men and women. Deficient levels can cause hot flashes, night sweats, irritability, insomnia, and decreased libido; in addition to dozens of other related symptoms of menopause.

The clinical research tells the whole tale.

"Taking progesterone orally and applying progesterone gel intravaginally is effective for treating secondary amenorrhea in premenopausal women." (Source: McKevoy GK, ed. AHFS Drug Information. Bethesda, MD: American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, 1998.)

And.

"Topical progesterone cream is superior to a placebo for reducing vasomotor symptoms such as hot flashes in menopausal women." (Source: Leonetti HB, Longo S, Anasti JN. Transdermal progesterone cream for vasomotor symptoms and postmenopausal bone loss, Obstet Gynecol 1999;94:225-8.)

Prozestra natural progesterone cream is lightly dabbed and massaged twice daily to any of the following areas of the body: hands, belly, inner arms, neck, face, thighs, buttocks and breasts, until fully absorbed, alternating application sites with usage.

Most users will see and feel noticeable results from Prozestra natural progesterone cream within 2-6 weeks of daily usage, when used as directed.

This product works best when used alongside of Pharmaxa Labs' all-natural menopause supplement, Menoquil.

QRxPharma Awarded Additional US$244,479 Grant for TorsinA Program

QRxPharma Awarded Additional US$244,479 Grant for TorsinA Program

Funding Through the U. S. Department of the Treasury’s Qualifying Therapeutic Discovery Project

Sydney, Australia and Bedminster, NJ (Vocus) November 8, 2010

QRxPharma Limited (ASX: QRX and OTCQX: QRXPY) announced today an award of US$244,479 in grant funding for the Company’s TorsinA program targeting patients suffering from Central Nervous System (CNS) disorders. Similar to the previously announced awards for the MoxDuo® programs, this competitive grant met the criteria under the Qualifying Therapeutic Discovery Project program offered by the U. S. Government’s Department of the Treasury.

“These additional resources will contribute to the early stage development of our TorsinA program run with our partners at the University of Alabama with further support from the Michael J. Fox Foundation, and brings our total grant funding from the U. S. Government to over US$733,000” said Dr. John Holaday, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of QRxPharma. “While still in preclinical development, we believe the science behind the TorsinA program could provide benefit to patients suffering from serious neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s, Huntington’s and dystonia by preventing the progression of their diseases.”

QRxPharma’s CNS programs are designed around a gene (DYT-1) and the protein it encodes, called “TorsinA”, that is critical for normal cellular function in the brain. Most neurodegenerative diseases are caused by the toxic accumulation of misfolded proteins in nerve cells. TorsinA is a naturally occurring protein in cells that fixes these aberrant proteins and reverses the damage that they cause. QRxPharma and scientists at the University of Alabama have discovered drugs which enhance the activity of TorsinA for treatment of Early-Onset Torsion Dystonia, Parkinson’s Disease, Huntington’s Disease and other protein misfolding diseases.

About TorsinA

TorsinA, present in nerve cells of the CNS, plays an important role in the regulation of normal protein folding and has been shown to be involved in protein processing and clearing of proteins which are folded incorrectly and lead to disease progression. The Caldwell laboratory at University of Alabama (UA) is the world leader in understanding and manipulating TorsinA biology.

QRxPharma/UA have developed a novel therapeutic strategy around enhancement of TorsinA’s function in the brain that have been shown to ameliorate the formation of disease causing misfolded proteins (such as α-synuclein in PD) and increasing the levels of TorsinA protein in patients with the orphan disease, Early-Onset Torsion Dystonia, for which there is no cure. QRxPharma/UA have assembled a proprietary set of technologies to screen for drug candidates to enhance TorsinA’s activity in the brain. TorsinA activator drugs have been identified, and a compelling data set has been generated showing that these drugs can enhance TorsinA activity, leading to neuroprotection from neurotoxic proteins and chemicals in a range of in vivo models.

(PRWEB) October 3, 2006

The new Australian website www. OfficialDiabetesBlog. com (http://www. OfficialDiabetesBlog. com) has uncovered reports of disturbing incidents where people suffering from diabetic hypoglycaemic episodes are mistakenly being arrested by police for being drunk.

In one such case, the protestations of the sufferer were ignored by the arresting officers, despite the presence of a diabetic keychain, until the sufferer slipped into unconsciousness and the paramedics were called.

Allegations of assault have been levelled at police by diabetics who have been arrested for erratic behaviour, (a symptom of their condition), despite insisting their innocence to public intoxication.

“It seems that a lack of training and awareness amongst police is leading to innocent people being inappropriately caught up in the criminal justice system,” says Stephanie Jakobi of The Better Information Network™.

It is widely known amongst diabetics that hypoglycaemia and drunken behaviour can easily be confused with each other. The prevalence of severe mood swings amongst new diabetes sufferers is also a condition that many families have to deal with on a daily basis.

While nursing staff who assess the health of people within the hours of arrest may be present at larger custody centres in capital cities, such staffing is rare at regional or suburban watch houses.

This places the onus on police officers, many of whom only have basic first aid training, to assess the behaviour and the health symptoms of the sufferer. For a busy police station, this extra level of awareness and testing may not be possible at the time, or at all.

This opens the door to potentially life-threatening situations, as a person may slip further into diabetic distress if their condition is not monitored correctly or if they do not receive their necessary insulin treatments.

Similar instances of false arrest for intoxication have occurred with people suffering from brain injuries or psychiatric conditions. This has also, on occasion, led to tragic results for the police and the arrested person.

According to the Victorian Police Media Unit, part of the general first aid training for police officers includes information about diabetes. However, recognition of possible erratic behaviour of diabetics does not make it into the operational training for new recruits.

The Better Information Network™ is committed to providing the most up-to-date information about diabetes to the general public, sourced from industry professionals and the diabetic community.

Www. OfficialDiabetesBlog. com (http://www. OfficialDiabetesBlog. com) is harnessing the personal experiences of sufferers of the condition that currently affects over 1 million Australians, and over 160 million people worldwide.

The Better Information Network™ and www. OfficialDiabetesBlog. com (http://www. OfficialDiabetesBlog. com) realise that it is through awareness, communication and contemporary research that the medical and social aspects of diabetes can be addressed to the benefit of all stakeholders.

Pittsburge, PA (PRWEB) November 4, 2004

This year, awards were granted to the agency for both Web and print design.

The History and Controversy Behind Post-Menopausal Hormone Therapy

The History and Controversy Behind Post-Menopausal Hormone Therapy

A new analysis reports on the history and stakeholders behind the drugs.

(PRWEB) February 20, 2005

There is a widespread controversy regarding the risks and benefits of hormone therapy (HT) for post-menopausal women with no end in sight. Roughly 45 million women in the US are post-menopausal and HT has been the predominant form of treatment for most of the twentieth century. But the history of these drugs (estrogen and estrogen plus progestin) illustrates a complex drama where different stakeholders with competing objectives can and did produce health practices and policies of questionable benefit. A critical analysis publishing in the recent issue of the Journal of Social Issues examines the back-story and key stakeholders—including the women who the authors say, “emerge as both willing participants and unwilling victims of the unintended consequences of these drugs.”

Post-menopausal HT began as, and is still prescribed as, a treatment to the severe to moderate symptoms that arise around menopause. It became a potential long-term therapy for the prevention and treatment of the most common causes of morbidity and mortality of women, e. g. heart disease, osteoporosis, and dementia—uses that were not approved by the FDA. But controlled studies found that there was no benefit for women’s health-related quality of life, but there was increased risk in breast cancer, increase in cardiovascular events and stroke risk among other results leaving the stakeholders in a dilemma. “From a purely business point of view, the most reliable profits [for drug companies] can be made from disease processes and conditions that have high incidence and prevalence,” the authors state. Post-menopausal symptoms provide drug companies such an opportunity, even for those with drugs that create positive results, i. e. prevent heart disease. For physicians their professional credibility is affected and for women it’s personal. HT once held the promise of regained femininity and the prolongation of youth - now it holds controversy.

This study is published in the current issue of Journal of Social Issues. For a PDF of this article please contact journalnews@bos. blackwellpublishing. net

Journal of Social Issues brings behavioral and social science theory, empirical evidence, and practice to bear on human and social problems. Each issue of the journal focuses on a single topic - recent issues, for example, have addressed poverty, housing and health; privacy as a social and psychological concern; youth and violence; and the impact of social class on education. It is published on behalf of The Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues.

The book educates women on how to avoid these chemicals and provides healthy alternatives to cosmetics, soaps, and other personal care products.

Dr. Peter J. D’Adamo, author of the best selling book, Eat Right 4 Your Type says this book hits the mark:

"Dr. Marchese has written a reliable and informative guide to the complex science that links environmental toxicity to the well-being of all women. It is a beautifully written work, practical and approachable, which also does a terrific job of synthesizing all the latest thinking on topic. 8 Weeks to Women’s Wellness is a book that both awakens and teaches."

And Tori Hudson, N. D., author of the Women’s Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine, 2nd ed. is pleased to recommend Dr. Marchese’s book:

“8 Weeks to Women’s Wellness is the first book I’ve seen that attends to women’s health and detoxification and gives women the knowledge and tools to create a plan for detoxification and a strategy towards health. Based on the research to date, Dr. Marchese’s book offers reliable information and sound advice.”

In the foreword to the book, Dr. Walter J. Crinnion, Department Chair Environmental Medicine, Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, makes the following plea:

“The importance of (reducing toxic burden) for young women who are preparing to become pregnant cannot be over-emphasized. Please give copies of this book to all the young women you know who want to have the healthiest children possible. You will be doing them a huge favor, as Dr. Marchese has done for all of us by providing this important and extremely helpful book.”

Parity Predict IT Professional Competency Model Will Help Simplify 'Skills And Competencies'

Parity Predict IT Professional Competency Model Will Help Simplify 'Skills And Competencies'

Parity hails a new model for IT skills unveiled by e-skills UK for a sector-wide approach to expressing IT professional capabilities.

Wimbledon, London (PRWEB) April 25, 2007

E-skills UK have just released a new IT Professional Competency Model that will allow employers, educators and others to communicate using a common language and framework for skills, knowledge and experience.

Rick Firth, Managing Director, Parity Training (http://www. parity. net/training/ (http://www. parity. net/training/)), said, "Having worked with many organisations where we have implemented frameworks and audited skills, the IT Professional Competency Model will simplify the process of understanding the area of 'skills and competencies' and provide the 'springboard' for a wider adoption, especially in the private sector."

E-skills calls the model a 'top layer' view of capabilities that links through to skills and development structures including the Skills Framework for the Information Age (http://www. parity. net/training/propositionsandservices/competencymappingandsfia/ (http://www. parity. net/training/propositionsandservices/competencymappingandsfia/)) (SFIA) and the British Computer Society's Chartered Professional programme. It will also provide the framework for the creation of new development programmes and form the basis for qualifications reform and simplification, e-skills predicts.

Based on extensive consultation with employers of IT professionals in all areas of the economy, the model also includes transferable skills, such as business and personal skills, which apply to all disciplines. It is being adopted by employers and by the Professionalism in IT (ProfIT) Alliance as the basis for IT professional standards and development programmes.

Parity (http://www. parity. net/ (http://www. parity. net/)) MD, Rick Firth, continued, "Recognition of the increasingly important business and personal skills to IT professionals will provide more confidence in accepting the benefits of an 'off the shelf' solution, but with the standardisation to be able to align it specifically to tangible business requirements and scenarios. Increasingly we are finding that employers want staff skilled in business and other competencies that facilitate team working, such as communications and other interpersonal skills so this new model is a much welcome support tool for recruitment, performance management and IT Training (http://www. parity. net/training/ (http://www. parity. net/training/))."

Health Plan Builds Playgrounds to Help Children Stay Active and Combat Childhood Obesity

Health Plan Builds Playgrounds to Help Children Stay Active and Combat Childhood Obesity

Keystone Mercy Health Plan’s Safe Playground Program Has Built Eight Playgrounds, Serving More than 3,200 Children

Philadelphia, PA (Vocus) July 12, 2010

Keystone Mercy Health Plan, the largest Medicaid managed health care organization in Pennsylvania, is increasing opportunities for children in underserved areas to have safe, play spaces through its Safe Playground program. The program’s goal is to encourage children to participate in healthy, physical activity by creating safe play areas, while minimizing the number of preventable injuries suffered by children as a result of out-dated equipment. The program was initiated because of a growing concern about increased obesity issues among the Plan’s school-aged members.

In 2007, Keystone Mercy started the Safe Playground program with its first build at Luis Munoz-Marin Elementary School, in North Philadelphia. Since then, playground sites have been selected, by the company, for schools that do not have safe play spaces and playground equipment for its students, many of which come from families that are at or below the poverty line. To date, with the help of over 300 employees, the company has erected eight playgrounds benefitting more than 3,200 children in Philadelphia-area schools.

At each build, more than 50 Keystone Mercy employees, parents, school officials, sponsors and community leaders assist in constructing the prefabricated playground. Most of the playgrounds, which are constructed in one day, are erected on previously vacant lots or have replaced unsafe or outdated playground equipment. Each brightly colored, multi-layered playground is more than 1,300 square feet and includes slides, tunnels, ladders and shaped landings, all surrounded by protective safety tiles.

In a 2005 survey of nationally recognized pediatricians, conducted by Harris Interactive, 96 percent of the respondents said they believed that activity on playgrounds benefits the mental and social development of children; 89 percent said that play keeps children from becoming overweight and 82 percent agreed that play develops a child’s problem-solving skills, which may lead to increases in academic performance.

“Childhood obesity is becoming more prevalent in our community and many families are facing this serious health issue,” said Jay Feldstein, DO, Interim Northeast Regional President and corporate chief medical officer, AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies, which includes Keystone Mercy Health Plan. He continued, “We know that the lack of physical activity is a contributing factor and the Safe Playground program supports our mission of building a healthier community by contributing to a child’s development of healthy behavior patterns through play.”

The most recent Safe Playground build took place at Woodland Academy Child Development Center, which offers daycare and youth services for children six-weeks to 14-years-old. “The renovation at our Woodland Academy Child Development Center demonstrates Keystone Mercy Health Plan’s commitment to the community," said Ron Heigler, chief executive officer and executive director, Greater Philadelphia Health Action, Inc., which operates Woodland Academy. “Given the rate of childhood obesity,” he continued, “a modern, safe and accessible playground provides the opportunity for additional exercise that will add to our children’s overall health.”

Anne Morrissey, AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies executive vice president and chief operating officer, is the catalyst for the Safe Playground program, and through her leadership, the program has become a reality.

“Keystone Mercy is committed to providing a wide range of programs that address the needs of our communities,” Morrissey said. “Our community partners, such as the Fund for Children at the Philadelphia Foundation and Wachovia Bank, are dedicated to making a positive difference in the Philadelphia area. Together, we have proved our commitment by providing resources to programs, like Safe Playground, that will have a lasting impact for the children and their neighborhoods.”

YouTube Video Describes Why Round House is Green, Hurricane Resistant, and Increases Life Potential because of Feng Shui, Geometry, and Design

YouTube Video Describes Why Round House is Green, Hurricane Resistant, and Increases Life Potential because of Feng Shui, Geometry, and Design

Renae Jensen, founder of Conscious Design, interviews Jami Lin on her new round house that she built from the ground up. Learn from observing the green and sustainable aspects, why the sacred geometry is naturally hurricane resistant, and how it increases life potential because of the Feng Shui, numerology and design.

Lanham, MD (Vocus) September 23, 2009

Jami Lin, internationally renowned Feng Shui (http://www. feng-shui-interior-design. com/) expert and designer posts details on her from-the-ground up new home. Interviewed by Renae Jensen, founder of Conscious Design, Jami explains how the green and sustainable aspects are ecologically responsible, why the sacred geometry is naturally hurricane resistant, and how a structured designed with these principles and Feng Shui, numerology and good design maximizes the personal growth of the occupants.

"Practicing interior design (http://www. feng-shui-interior-design. com/ID/) for more than thirty years and Feng Shui for over twenty years, I've always applied these techniques and experienced the benefits through my own environments as well as helped clients in their homes and offices. It is a privilege to start with the land, and with the utmost respect for it, utilize the most evolutionary methods. Not only am I thrilled to live and work in the such a beautiful and eco-responsible stricture, I hope it serves as a model for others to consider earth and life-enhancing options."

I the video Jami Lin explains how the round shell, made by Detlechomes (out of Ashville, North Carolina) isn't round at all. It is constructed with eight-foot modules that when places together make a circular effect, still leaving plenty of straight walls in which to layout furniture. The number eight represents all aspects pf wealth in Chinese lore. Nine represents completion or reaching goals and the house not only repeats the eights and nines in the number of stairs, the entire structure is tilted nine - degrees of east to maximize Jami's and her husband's Feng Shui.

"As we were designing the house, we modeled the numerology and geometry from the Temple of Heaven in China, Leonardo di Vinci's Vitruvian Man and other many other sacred formulas." "Also considered were the best functional and life-enhancing aspects of each room according to real Feng Shui formulas that determine the one out of two-thousand, energetic combinations that is specific to the land and the occupants."

In the two-part video, Renae and Jami discuss the green and natural material used throughout the site, how to determine the colors for rooms as well as the functional space planning and lighting design. There is discussion on why accessories and their need to not be expensive but special to the occupants to hold special symbolism to enhance mind, body, and spirit wellness (http://www. feng-shui-interior-design. com/).

Trinitas Hospital's Labib Edison Riachi, M. D. Is Among The First Physicians In The United States To Perform New Incontinence Procedure

Trinitas Hospital's Labib Edison Riachi, M. D. Is Among The First Physicians In The United States To Perform New Incontinence Procedure

Trinitas Hospital physician Labib Edison Riachi, MD, a specialist in advanced pelvic surgery and female urinary incontinence, has become the first physician in northern New Jersey and one of the first in the nation to successfully perform the Gynecare TVT-Obturator procedure for female incontinence.

(PRWEB) April 10, 2004

Trinitas Hospital physician Labib Edison Riachi, MD, a specialist in advanced pelvic surgery and female urinary incontinence, has become the first physician in northern New Jersey and one of the first in the nation to successfully perform the Gynecare TVT-Obturator procedure for female incontinence. Dr. Riachi, who was also the first surgeon in New Jersey to perform incontinence surgery using the Boston Scientific Transvaginal Sling, is the founder of the Center for Advanced Pelvic Surgery at Trinitas Hospital.

“Each year, more than 13 million women in the United States experience urinary incontinence, resulting in leakage or accidents,” says Dr. Riachi. “Although incontinence is a condition generally associated with aging, it can be a problem for women of all ages. In fact, one in four women between the ages of 30 to 59 have experienced an episode of incontinence. With this new procedure, we are able to offer hope to these women.”

The Gynecare TVT-Obturator System Tension-Free Support for Incontinence is a novel surgical device, allowing for the placement of a mid-urethral sling. Unlike the more commonly known TVT procedure, TVT-O is placed in a passage away from the urethra and bladder, reducing the potential for urethral and bladder injury. The mesh is positioned without tension underneath the urethra, creating a supportive sling.

After extensive training in Europe under the pioneer and inventor of the TVT-O procedure – Jean de Leval, Professor at the University of Liege in Belgium – Dr. Riachi performed the first two procedures at Trinitas Hospital in April. He had earlier performed vaginal reconstruction surgery in France with Professor Bernard Jacquetin, Chairman of the International Urogynecology Association, and Dr. Renaud de Tayrac of the Hospital Antoine Beclere.

”I feel very fortunate to have trained for this procedure under the guidance of Jean de Leval,” says Dr. Riachi. “He is known around the world as the Father of the TVT-O procedure, and his skills and knowledge are unsurpassed.”

The TVT-O procedure can be completed within 30 minutes, and most patients are able to return to normal activities within two days. Catheterization is not usually required, and the procedure is performed under local anesthesia.

Trinitas Hospital also offers specialized physical therapy services targeted to women with pelvic floor and incontinence problems. The rehabilitation services are part of the full complement of pelvic care services offered at the hospital by Dr. Riachi, including biofeedback continence training, evaluation and treatment, and pelvic floor dysfunction services.

Dr. Riachi is a member of the Women's Care Physician's Group, LLC and the Medical Staff of Trinitas Hospital. For further information on Female Urinary Incontinence and the TVT-O procedure at Trinitas Hospital, please call (908) 282-2000.

Wellness Pharmacy's New Website Offers Wealth of Information and Ease of Online Shopping

Wellness Pharmacy's New Website Offers Wealth of Information and Ease of Online Shopping

Wellness Pharmacy, a Birmingham-based compounding pharmacy, announces the launch of their new website. The site provides an extensive online health resource library and an improved shopping experience.

Birmingham, AL (PRWEB) July 31, 2009

Wellness Pharmacy, a compounding pharmacy (http://www. wellnesspharmacy. com) founded in 1964 and located in Birmingham, Alabama, is excited to announce the launch of their new website - http://www. wellnesspharmacy. com (http://www. wellnesspharmacy. com). The new site provides an improved shopping experience and an expanded Help Center, with an extensive online resource library for research on a wide range of health-related topics.

Many patients require the use of a compounding pharmacy to receive customized medications to meet unique medical needs. Because many patients are allergic to dyes and/or preservatives or are sensitive to standard drug therapies, they may be unable to be treated with commercially available drugs. In these instances, physicians prescribe compounded medications to change the strength, delivery form, or flavor to make the medicine easier to take and more effective in meeting the patient's individual needs.

One of the site's highlights is the new and improved shopping cart. The cart allows customers to shop through more than 25 professional grade supplement lines with ease. Users can search for products by Manufacturer or by Product Category to compare and contrast prices and brands. To save the customer time, prescription refills can now be submitted through the website.

In addition to a new and improved online shopping experience, the new site contains a wealth of health-related information for both patients and physicians. The site's Help Center is a great starting place for researching medical conditions and treatments. An extensive research library with articles ranging from Hormone Replacement Therapy and Pain Management to Autism and Anti-Aging are available to viewers. Links to numerous informational resources, associations and organizations as well as physicians and clinics make it helpful for patients to research medical conditions and various methods of treatment.

Wellness specializes in several areas of compounded medicine, including veterinary compounding (http://www. wellnesshealth. com/content. asp? id=339548) and various pharmaceutical grade delivery forms of Glutathione (http://www. wellnesshealth. com/content. asp? id=339544), the most powerful naturally occurring antioxidant in all human cells. In addition, Wellness provides a comprehensive Autism Support Program, one of very few of its kind. Wellness is committed to providing patients and parents everything they need to address and defeat autism - from research, information and support to quality products. These topics are all covered extensively in the new site with links, resources, information, and products.

Patients looking for physicians in their area in a certain field or area of practice can contact the pharmacy directly through the site for assistance. For information on the products available online, the site's extensive health resource library, or Wellness's compounding pharmacy services, please contact Caron Lassiter at (800) 227-2627.

Good cooking begins with good cutting. The new iCook™ knifeware set from Quixtar (http://www. quixtar. com/about/) offers five, premium forged, German stainless steel knives designed by renowned knife expert Ken Onion and endorsed by iCook Culinary Specialist, Jason Roberts.

The exclusive design of iCook knives provides ease of use and comfort when cutting. The forged blade combines strength with balance and the weight of the knives is well centered. The knives are designed with a curve along the top of the bolster as well as a curved angle on the face of the blade, allowing for a looser, more comfortable, yet effective grip that provides greater control.

The cutting edge of the blade is curved to match the natural action of the wrist while cutting, while the tip of the blade is lower than the handle, creating more control for delicate cutting, especially when cutting on the bias.

The iCook knifeware set is versatile with a knife for every job in the kitchen.

The 9-in. Chef’s knife is a great multi-purpose tool for slicing, dicing and mincing.  The Santoku knife has a 7-in. blade with hollow ground grantons that allow food to more easily release from the blade. It’s an ideal knife for slicing, dicing and mincing meats, fish and vegetables.  The 8-in. Slicer’s serrated edge is perfect for slicing softer foods like bread, tomatoes and cake.  The Petty knife with its 5-in. blade trims and bones meats with ease and efficiency.  The 4-in. Paring knife peels fruits and vegetables with precision.

The iCook knifeware set comes with a space-saving drawer storage tray to safely store knives, protecting hands and the blade edges.

The set also comes with a bonus DVD, hosted by renowned chef Jason Roberts, which introduces the knives, described proper use and care, and provides demonstrations on proper cutting technique.

Eclipse Curtains' Expanded Line Boasts Both Health And Sleep Benefits

Eclipse Curtains' Expanded Line Boasts Both Health And Sleep Benefits

Ellery HomeStyles, LLC has recently expanded its line of popular Eclipse Curtains. These new additions, Tristan Eclipse, Narina, Satin Stripe, Robert Eclipse, and Louise Eclipse block out 99% of light and can, as part of a healthy lifestyle, also aid in the fight against breast cancer

New York, NY (PRWEB) October 6, 2008

Ellery HomeStyles, LLC, one of the largest and most respected home fashions provider to major U. S. retailers, has recently expanded its line of popular Eclipse Curtains, the fashionable and functional blackout curtains for the home. These new additions, Tristan Eclipse, Narina, Satin Stripe, Robert Eclipse, and Louise Eclipse block out 99% of light and can, as part of a healthy lifestyle, also aid in the fight against breast cancer

Recently a link between nocturnal light and breast cancer has been discovered. (source: Chronobiology International January 2008) Breast Cancer Awareness month is a good time to shed light on the importance of darkness in the fight against the disease. Research has shown that brightly lit neighborhoods produce an increase in cases of breast cancer since melatonin, one of the body's best defenses against cancer, cannot be produced without periods of total darkness.

A healthy, dark sleeping environment including Eclipse light-blocking curtains as well as the recommended list below is a simple way women can help themselves in the ongoing prevention of cancer.

 YOUR NECESSARY NOCTURNAL NINE
1. Shut out all light, invest in blackout curtains such as those made by Eclipse, which are lab-tested and proven to block out as much as 99.8 percent of light and reduce 40 percent more noise than ordinary curtains, leading to better quality sleep. An eye mask helps too.
2. Get nine hours sleep: a Finnish study found that women who slept nine hours were one-third as likely to get breast cancer as those who slept 7-8 hours.
3. Get a red light bulb (less harsh on your eyes.) Place this light bulb in one fixture and use only that one when you get up in the night.
4. Better still: use a night-light, flicking on a lamp or light can causes melatonin levels to drop immediately.
5. Try to get to bed at the same time every day, this will keep your pineal gland (the maker of melatonin) on a healthy schedule
6. Get outside in the morning: just 10-15 minutes of morning light will send a strong time-keeping signal to the brain's clock leaving it less likely to be confused.
7. Do not fall asleep to the TV! If you must watch television before you go to sleep (A big no-no according to the experts) use the television timer to make sure it goes off after a certain interval.
8. If napping works for you, apply the same "darkness" rules to your napping environment.
9. If you have trouble staying asleep after falling asleep, avoid the urge to read or go online - try yoga breathing and relaxation techniques first.

About Eclipse - the voice of authority for Energy-Saving Noise-Reducing Blackout Curtains. Eclipse products allow today's consumer to experience more than just beauty from their curtains. Unlike ordinary curtains, Eclipse blocks 99% of light, saves up to 25% on home heating and cooling costs, reduces noise by up to 40%, increases quality of sleep and reduces stress levels.
