Consultant uses exclusive approach combining Martial Arts Principles & Prayer

3/12/04

As the criticism towards the Catholic Church’s response to the sexual abuse crisis heats up, one Cleveland-area Catholic Church is committed to making a difference. The Catholic church of St. Noel in Willoughby Hills, Ohio has joined forces with The Black Belt Consulting Group, a Cleveland-based business consulting firm to offer “An Evening of Lamentation and Healing” on Tuesday, March 16th, 2004. The evening brings together members of the parish who have feelings or opinions about the sexual abuse scandal they would like to express in a safe, non-threatening faith context. In a generous show of support for the people of the Cleveland Diocese, Warneka waived his company’s usual $10,000 fee.

Tim Warneka, the president of The Black Belt Consulting Group, is a life-long Catholic and ten-year parishioner at St. Noel’s. “Father George Smiga, the pastor of St. Noel’s, approached me several weeks ago about facilitating a gathering of parishioners in order to help people continue to heal from the sexual abuse scandal in the church.” Warneka notes that his company is a full-service consulting organization that uses principles from the Japanese martial art of Aikido (“The Art of Peace”), which Warneka has over 15 years experience, as well as Warneka’s skills as coach, consultant and mental health professional. “I respect Fr. Smiga’s wisdom,” Warneka states, “for being willing to bring in trained professionals to address this enormously complex issue. My company’s exclusive approach is a perfect fit for the situation.”

Warneka, who’s mental health experience includes working with both sexual abuse perpetrators as well as victims, reports that he has gathered a “highly-skilled team of professionals” to support the evening’s session. The team consists of Akron-based business consultant Laurie Zuckerman and Methodist minister & clinical social worker Annette Dimond. Ms. Zuckerman is the president of Zuckerman Consulting Group and bring over 20 years of consulting experience with her. Rev. Dimond is the senior minister at the Brook Park United Methodist Church as well as an experienced clinical social worker in private practice.

Warneka, Fr. Smiga and the other team members will be using the established process of “Open Space Technology” to support the healing of the parishioners of St. Noel’s. As Warneka observes, “Open Space Technology is best used with complex and highly conflictual issues – and I can’t think of a better way to describe the sexual abuse scandal in the Catholic Church.”

With School Out, Kids at Risk of Becoming Couch Potatoes : Travelocity Survey Reveals Family Vacations May Be Connected to Children's Disconnection with Nature

With School Out, Kids at Risk of Becoming Couch Potatoes : Travelocity Survey Reveals Family Vacations May Be Connected to Children's Disconnection with Nature

The Problem: Kids are officially out of school for summer within the next few weeks. While it should be a time for outdoor play and exploration, a recent Travelocity survey reveals that family vacations may be contributing to children's disconnection with nature and resulting health issues. And while a recent study published in the May 28, 2008 issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association suggests childhood obesity may have finally hit a plateau, 32 percent of American schoolchildren remain overweight or obese.

SOUTHLAKE, Texas (PRWEB) June 4, 2008

More Stats:

According to the Children & Nature Network, only 6 percent of kids ages 9 - 13 play outside. Youths between the ages 8 - 18 spend more than 45 hours a week with electronic media. Travelocity's family travel poll shows the same trend in family vacations. Twenty-five percent of the Silent Generation (born between 1925-1945) report all of their childhood family vacations included some interaction with nature compared to only 15 percent of families traveling with kids today. Car travel diminished with the rise of plane travel so that today's families take road trips 34 percent of the time vs. Gen-Xers, 79 percent, and the Silent Generation, 89 percent. Today's families opt to stay in hotels and resorts 59 percent of the time vs. Boomers at only 31 percent of the time. Boomers were open to more affordable solutions such as campsites 26 percent of the time compared to today's travelers only 3 percent of the time. Richard Louv, author of Last Child in the Woods, draws connections to kids who spend less time outside to problems with obesity, attention disorders, depression and stress. The Solution:

Travelocity has developed a new "micro-site" offering tips for parents on getting their kids off the couch and back into nature this summer. For families who need help planning their outdoor adventures, Travelocity uses its Roadtrip Wizard tool to plan itineraries around the country. 6 Tips for Managing Food Intolerance During the Holidays

6 Tips for Managing Food Intolerance During the Holidays

Following These Simple Steps Can Make For A More Enjoyable Holiday For Those Suffering From Food Intolerance

(PRWEB) December 23, 2010

Few things represent the holidays more than festive celebrations filled with food. For those living with a food intolerance, however, a time of celebration can turn into a time of great discomfort. By following a few simple steps, the holidays can be fun-filled even for someone living with a food intolerance.

1. Share Any Special Diet Needs Before the Holiday Celebration

Nothing is worse than showing up to a feast and discovering there is little or nothing you can eat. Communicating with the cook early will allow him or her to know your specific needs so they can help you feel great during the holiday season. Most people who cook large holiday meals enjoy cooking. They will likely enjoy knowing they are preparing food that won‘t make you sick!

2. Avoid Foods High in Histamine

Many people with food intolerance have a reaction to foods high in histamine. These type of foods are often not fresh or are stored for longer periods of time. Included are deli meats, marinated food, fish, cheese, tomatoes, mushrooms, strawberries, and bananas, and many more. Even something as simple as a glass of red wine can have negative effects for someone who is sensitive to foods high in histamine. Doing ample research before a holiday meal of foods that are high in histamine and avoiding them is important to managing this type of food intolerance.

3. Keep It Simple

Keeping food simple is key when dealing with a food intolerance. The more elaborate a dish is, the more ingredients it requires. Within each ingredient may lay hidden food products, which can produce discomfort. While a few complex dishes may be “required” by family tradition, things like turkey, chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, and simple dinner rolls offer great comfort food with few ingredients. The simpler and fresher the ingredients, the less likely they will trigger an uncomfortable reaction, particularly one that is histamine based.

4. Always Read the Ingredient Label

When managing food intolerance, label reading is very important. Even on simple dishes someone else prepares, reading a label can mean the difference between a “Happy Holidays” and a holiday spent feeling ill and uncomfortable.

5. Bring Food To The Gathering

Few cooks will turn down guests bringing food to help with the burden of preparation. Bring several foods you know will not trigger your food intolerance. Others will enjoy the variety of several cooks, but it also offers great peace of mind when you know you will not suffer any ill effects from a particular food.

6. Take Appropriate Supplements to Manage Food Intolerance

There are supplements to counteract food intolerance, particularly histamine-related food intolerance. Find a quality supplement like the product Histame, which provides the natural diamine oxidase (DAO) enzyme to decrease histamine levels that cause food intolerance reactions. This product should be taken within 15 minutes of eating a high histamine level food to avoid any negative effects the food might cause.

About Naturally Vitamins

For more than 35 years, Naturally Vitamins has been the industry leader in the use of nutritional enzyme preparations to help balance deficiencies connected to aging. Naturally Vitamins has worked aggressively to make Histame® available to American consumers. The DAO enzyme contained in Histame was acknowledged by the U. S. Food and Drug Administration as a New Dietary Ingredient (NDI) in 2008. Histame can be purchased online at http://www. naturally. com and from health food stores nationwide.

James Blake and Lleyton Hewitt to Return to Panasonic Presents the Tennis Channel Open in Las Vegas

James Blake and Lleyton Hewitt to Return to Panasonic Presents the Tennis Channel Open in Las Vegas

Panasonic presents the Tennis Channel Open - the Las Vegas-based ATP tournament owned and operated by The Tennis Channel - announced today that defending champion James Blake and 2006 runner-up Lleyton Hewitt will return to the event, set for Feb. 25 - March 4, 2007, at the Amanda & Stacy Darling Memorial Tennis Center.

LOS ANGELES, CA (PRWEB) November 21, 2006

Panasonic presents the Tennis Channel Open - the Las Vegas-based ATP tournament owned and operated by The Tennis Channel - announced today that defending champion James Blake and 2006 runner-up Lleyton Hewitt will return to the event, set for Feb. 25 - March 4, 2007, at the Amanda & Stacy Darling Memorial Tennis Center.

"We're thrilled that James and Lleyton will be back in 2007," said David Egdes, tournament director and senior vice president, tennis industry relations, The Tennis Channel. "After the success and excitement of their run to the finals in our inaugural event, we felt a sequel for both was a must, and we're glad they agree. Their participation in the new round-robin format will be an added bonus for all fans."

The fifth-seeded Blake won the inaugural Las Vegas championship on March 4, 2006, upsetting the top-seeded Hewitt 7-5, 2-6, 6-3. It was Blake's first win in seven meetings with Hewitt, and catapulted him into the best year of his career. He followed his Tennis Channel Open win with a run to the Pacific Life Open final in Indian Wells, Calif., and a title at the RCA Championships in Indianapolis. He even broke into the top five in world singles rankings at one point. Blake is currently the No. 8 singles player in world.

"I'm really excited about the opportunity to return to Las Vegas and defend my title at the Tennis Channel Open," said Blake. "The Tennis Channel put together a lot of creative ideas and did a great job with the tournament during its first year in Las Vegas. I really had a good experience and am looking forward to returning to Las Vegas for the Tennis Channel Open next year."

Hewitt is one of the most consistent performers and recognizable stars in professional tennis, and a player who was recognized by Las Vegas Mayor Oscar B. Goodman with a key to the city prior to last year's event. The Adelaide, Australia, native became the youngest qualifier in Australian Open history in 1997, at 15 years and 11 months, and quickly set about adding his name to the country's long list of tennis legends. He won the 2001 US Open and 2002 Wimbledon titles, and was a vital piece of Australia's 1999 and 2003 Davis Cup championship teams. Most recently Hewitt reached the quarterfinals at this year's Wimbledon and the US Open tournaments. He is ranked No. 20.

The 2007 Panasonic presents the Tennis Channel Open is one of five U. S. tournaments in the ATP's 2007 round-robin pilot program, unveiled in October. As one of the participants in this new fan-friendly system, the 32-player singles competition will begin Sunday instead of the traditional Monday, with an eight-match, 16-player playoff for entry into the round-robin stage. The eight winners will join 16 higher ranked players to create eight pools of three. Each player will then play two guaranteed matches against the others in his pool, with the winner of each group advancing to the single-elimination stage of quarterfinal, semifinal and championship play.

The trial format ensures that spectators and television viewers alike will have the chance to see their favorite players, including top draws like Blake and Hewitt, at least twice at the Tennis Channel Open, if not more.

"Tennis Channel Open ticket holders, TV audiences and players alike are going to love this fantastic new tournament format, which is great for Las Vegas, this event and the sport overall," said Ken Solomon, chairman and CEO, The Tennis Channel. "We're thrilled and appreciative that the ATP selected the Tennis Channel Open as the second tournament in the United States to showcase this groundbreaking tennis evolution, and the first in the world to have round-robin play on national TV. We are more committed than ever to the growth of tennis and helping to build the profile of Las Vegas as a leading player in world-class sporting events."

Individual tickets for the 2007 Panasonic presents the Tennis Channel Open will be available Wednesday, Nov. 15. Ticket packages are already on sale, with UNLV Tickets again handling ticket sales for the tournament. Fans can purchase tickets at 866-641-OPEN (866-641-6736) or www. tennischannelopen. com. In the Las Vegas area, tennis fans can buy tickets at Station Casinos, Fiesta Properties, Galleria Mall and the Thomas & Mack Center at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

The Tennis Channel plans for a return of the groundbreaking "Tennispalooza" tournament theme in 2007, which this year brought paddle tennis, fast-stringing contests, unique qualifier formats, live performances, motocross, air hockey and foosball to men's and women's pro, junior and collegiate tennis. The event brings the network's sports and lifestyle programming to life in an annual tennis destination set under the neon of one of the world's most exciting and fastest growing cities.

The Tennis Channel (www. thetennischannel. com) is the only 24-hour, television-based multimedia destination dedicated to tennis and the healthy, active lifestyle that surrounds it, and forges the personal connection between the professionals on the court and the game's millions of aficionados. The home for people who watch, play and live their passions through tennis, the network is a hybrid of comprehensive sports coverage, health and fitness programming, pop culture and entertainment access, and lifestyle and travel information. The Tennis Channel is the most concentrated single-sport network in television, with telecast rights to Roland Garros (the French Open), the US Open Series, ATP Masters Series, top-tier Sony Ericsson WTA Tour championship competitions, Davis Cup by BNP Paribas, Fed Cup and Hyundai Hopman Cup, the combination of which offer the compelling, ongoing story of the game's most dramatic rivalries, energetic personalities and emotional, yearlong journey.

NRPA and the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation Announce Grantees for 2010 Take Me Fishing™ Initiative

The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2010 Take Me Fishing™ grant initiative. This year, NRPA awarded 70 agencies and organizations up to $5,000 for programs that will each serve a minimum of 2,000 youth by April 30, 2011.

Ashburn, VA (Vocus) August 17, 2010

The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2010 Take Me Fishing™ grant initiative. This year, NRPA awarded 70 agencies and organizations up to $5,000 for programs that will each serve a minimum of 2,000 youth by April 30, 2011.

NRPA’s Take Me Fishing initiative supports local park and recreation agencies and youth service organizations that work to connect young people ages 6 to 15 with nature and engage them in recreational boating and fishing. The goal of the initiative is to provide children and families with opportunities to participate in boating and fishing programs that will lead to continued participation in healthy outdoor activities, a lifelong commitment to environmental stewardship, and an understanding of water and boat safety behaviors.

Since 2006, the program has reached more than 350,000 children and families. For the 2010 program year, NRPA awarded a total of $297,000 in grants to new and returning agencies, which will reach more than 140,000 additional children and families and increase program participation by more than 20 percent from 2009.

“The Take Me Fishing initiative makes it possible for agencies to connect tens of thousands of children each year to boating and fishing opportunities, generating powerful bonds to nature and the outdoors,” said NRPA CEO Barbara Tulipane. “Programs like this one are crucial as we strive to create future generations of active, healthy Americans who will take care of the environment long after we are gone.”

“With America’s youngsters spending hours a day on electronic media, it’s become more and more challenging to introduce them to the joys of the outdoors,” said RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson. “We’re pleased to support NRPA as they work to connect youth with the outdoors and help create future boaters and anglers who will cherish and protect our outdoor spaces.”

HCG Diet Direct Sees Increased Interest in Fast Weight Loss Diets During Foot Health Month

HCG Diet Direct Sees Increased Interest in Fast Weight Loss Diets During Foot Health Month

HCG Diet Direct sees increased interest in fast weight loss diets during foot health month.

Phoenix, AZ (Vocus) August 10, 2010

HCG Diet Direct (http://www. hcgdietdirect. com) sees increased interest in fast weight loss diets (https://www. hcgdietdirect. com/buy-hcg-diet/products/hcg-diet-drops-26-30-day-supply-6.php) during foot health month (http://www. hcgdietdirect. com/hcg-diet-news/hcg-foot-health-month. html). August marks the month long annual observance of foot health. As many foot conditions and ailments and uncategorized pain are attributed to obesity the marked interest in fast weight loss diets during the month of August is deemed appropriate.

Dr. J. Ronald Willis of HCG Diet Direct said, “The prevalence of obesity in American society…and worldwide really…is shocking when you consider just how many functions and activities and abilities are limited (minimally or severely) when individuals live at an unhealthy weight. Poor foot health is one of the obvious consequences that will eventually afflict obese and overweight individuals.”

According to a survey conducted by the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society obesity could lead to foot problems. Over 6,000 respondents participated in the survey conducted on the Society’s website.

According to the survey, foot conditions and problems indicated as related to obesity included:

1. Posterior tibial tendonitis
2. Plantar fasciitis
3. Hindfoot arthritis

Individuals who are climbing stairs or walking on a steep incline generally carry approximately four to six times their body weight across the ankle joint. This makes it very clear that proposed links between obesity/being overweight and ankle and foot pain/conditions are not unfounded or surprising.

Homeopathic HCG weight loss formula is a fast weight loss diet that can be used to achieve drastic weight loss without invasive procedures. The HCG drops are taken three times daily and paired with a careful eating plan. The results of the standard 26-30 day program can provide an average of 1 to 2 pounds of weight loss per day.

New Technology Helps Residents with Chronic Diseases Monitor their Health

New Technology Helps Residents with Chronic Diseases Monitor their Health

Residents of North Simcoe Muskoka who are living with chronic diseases now have a new, easy way to monitor their vital signs, providing the comfort of knowing all is well or giving an early warning sign when further action is required.

Toronto, ON (PRWEB) August 13, 2008

Residents of North Simcoe Muskoka who are living with chronic diseases now have a new, easy way to monitor their vital signs, providing the comfort of knowing all is well or giving an early warning sign when further action is required.

Re-ACT© uses wireless technology to measure up to six vital signs and transmits the results to a remote monitoring centre. Here, the results are tracked and the nurse facilitates interventions as appropriate. This could include a call to the user to review the information, a call to their family doctor or specialist, or a visit to assess the needs for additional care. The system will not replace all nursing visits, but can significantly reduce the number of visits required. In addition, the monitoring function has been shown to decrease the number of ER visits and hospital admissions for people using the system.

A partnership between the North Simcoe Muskoka Community Care Access Centre, We Care Home Health Services and Healthanywhere, a division of IgeaCare, the program is an Aging at Home initiative funded through the North Simcoe Muskoka - Local Health Integration Network (NSM LHIN).

"We are excited to be part of this partnership," said John Schram, President and CEO of We Care Health Services. "It demonstrates how government and industry can work together to provide innovative, cost saving solutions to the challenges health care is facing today."

Chronic disease is a critical driver of growing health care expenditures, leading to an unsustainable health care system. Over 55% (or $32 million) of total direct and indirect health care costs are attributable to chronic disease. Some of the facts:
-- 83% of Ontarians over age 45 (nearly 4 million) have a chronic disease
-- 70% of these people (2.78 million) have two or more chronic diseases
-- 59% of deaths are cause by a major chronic disease
-- 90% of type 2 diabetes, 80% of coronary heart disease and one third of cancers can by avoided by changing to a healthier diet, increasing physical activity and stopping smoking (WHO 2003)
-- up to 90% of COPD could be avoided by the elimination of cigarette smoking.

Regular monitoring of blood pressure, pulse, weight, blood glucose and blood oxygen from their own home is expected to allow seniors to maintain independence in their own home while providing peace of mind for their families. Up to 100 clients can be monitored by one Registered Nurse.

Bill Innes, Executive Director of North Simcoe Muskoka CCAC said, "Re-ACT is the first significant technology available to residents of North Simcoe Muskoka to remotely monitor vital signs. This is an innovation which will become increasingly important as our population ages, chronic disease becomes more prevalent and the shortage of health professionals becomes increasingly acute."

The goal of the Re-ACT© program is to help individuals develop skills for healthy living and managing their disease. Greater Than One Turns 10; Celebrates Digital, Integrated Healthcare Focus

Greater Than One Turns 10; Celebrates Digital, Integrated Healthcare Focus

Greater Than One Turns 10! Celebrates Digital, Integrated Healthcare Focus

New York (PRWEB) April 8, 2010

Greater Than One, an independently owned pioneer in providing healthcare clients integrated, digital solutions and marketing communications kicks off its 10th anniversary celebration at The DTC Perspectives Annual Conference in Washington this week. Since opening in 2000, the Manhattan-based agency has established itself as one of the few to offer a wide swath of services – strategy, creative and user experience, technology, media buying and planning – under one roof.

This integrated model is a primary factor in the agency’s frequent peer recognition for its innovative approach to marketing in the healthcare sector.

“CEO, Elizabeth Apelles says:,” we’re proud of reaching this milestone. We have a solid reputation for being ahead of our peers in taking advantage of the opportunities digital marketing offers. We have a team of smart and independent people who understand technology as well as the nuances of healthcare marketing, and we look forward to the next decade…..”

Greater than One opened in 2000, led by Elizabeth Apelles, Chris Neuner and a group of four partners. At the time, digital healthcare marketing was fairly new. Drawn to the sector by the vast opportunity in the space, Greater Than One has grown to include more than 70 employees, and two offices (Manhattan and Madrid, Spain).

In 2008-2009, reorganized for the next phase of growth. Ms. Apelles brought in a seasoned team of marketing managers – led by former Ogilvy & Mather executive Richard Newman as president, Michael Maher to lead the Client Services group, Joe Barone to lead the Media group, and Mark Sadowski as CFO.

GTO is now the only fully integrated digital services agency serving healthcare, and the only agency with a partnership structure; each functional unit head is a partner in the agency. GTO is well positioned to lead the digital marketing to launch the new and innovative drugs that are in the pipeline.

Current and former clients include: Continuum Health Partners; EMD Serono; Genentech; Eli Lilly and Company; Mars Direct; Medtronic; Novartis; NYU-SCPS; Sepracor; Texas Children’s Hospital.

Employee Benefits Program Providers Add Hospital Care to Comprehensive Savings Program

Employee Benefits Program Providers Add Hospital Care to Comprehensive Savings Program

Maxous, a provider of member-only discounts and employee benefits programs to individuals, groups, and associations, has added hospital care savings to their comprehensive savings program.

(PRWEB) December 2, 2005

Maxous, an employee benefits program (http://www. inflationbuster. com) provider, has added hospital care to their savings program as an affordable alternative to health insurance. The hospital care program provides discounts through the Galaxy Health Network Hospital program, rounding out a comprehensive employee benefits package that also offers savings on everyday services, travel, legal and financial advice.

“While many member-only benefits programs (http://www. inflationbuster. com) offer savings, few offer a comprehensive discounts package that affects one’s budget as a whole. After all, a legal, healthcare, or travel program on its own only provides savings if you need those services. If you don’t need a lawyer, are healthy, and don’t travel often, are they really providing financial relief, or are they just another bill?” said Eddie Vélez, the CEO of Maxous. “Maxous put together a comprehensive solution—a members-only benefits program (http://www. inflationbuster. com), starting as low as $19.99 per family, that allows one to save on daily needs like lunch, car repairs and maintenance, movies, hair cuts, entertainment, and leisure, while also providing for those eventual costly needs like doctors, hospitals, dentists, and more. With this approach, people have true financial relief.”

Maxous exclusive members join together in order to take advantage of group buying power. Maxous uses the buying clout of its entire membership to negotiate the best price available for each individual member.

Through the Maxous hospital care savings program, members can receive discounts of 10%-30% at over 2,500 hospitals through the Galaxy Health Network Hospital program. In addition, members can also receive savings at MRI clinics and many other types of ancillary service providers.

Maxous also offers other medical and dental savings programs (http://www. inflationbuster. com) through the top medical and dental networks in America, used by over 40 major insurance companies, and vision savings are offered through EyeMed, owned and operated by LensCrafters.

Maxous healthcare savings are fee-schedule based and not discount based, with the exception of the prescription program. Fee-schedule based providers have agreed to a set fee-schedule (list of prices for services rendered). Therefore, it doesn’t matter if one doctor’s fee is $89 or $59, if the set fee is $40, you will pay $40—no matter which doctor is visited.

After enrolling in one of Maxous’ comprehensive benefits programs (http://www. inflationbuster. com), members will be eligible to receive healthcare discounts and savings in all 50 states, saving as much as 50%, from:

400,000 medical providers and facilities 100,000 dental providers 3,600 hospitals 28,000 vision care providers 58,000 pharmacies to include: Wal-mart and Sam’s Walgreen’s and CVS Medicine Shoppe and Publix Costco, Albertson’s, and more

Because the Maxous benefits program (http://www. inflationbuster. com) is not insurance, there is no paperwork or limitations on services. The benefits program includes the entire household, and is available for use immediately after enrolling, once one is in the system. To begin saving on healthcare, travel, legal fees, and everyday expenses like haircuts and dinner, visit www. inflationbuster. com to sign up.

About Maxous

Maxous provides Member-Only Discounts and Benefits programs to individuals, groups, associations, direct-marketing firms, financial institutions, employer organizations, and affinity groups. Programs help with retention, recruitment and boosting company awareness for increased sales; while providing cost-effective substantive benefits for the customer.

Site Assurance Seal Goes Beyond Trust, It Assures the Entire Online Experience

Site Assurance Seal Goes Beyond Trust, It Assures the Entire Online Experience

Site Assurance is offering a 3-month free trial for Webmasters who take advantage of this service by December 31, 2004 and they even waive the setup fee.

(PRWEB) November 19, 2004

With the recent public release of the Site Assurance Seal program online shoppers can now rest assured that sites bearing this seal have been inspected for Authenticity, Privacy, Support Availability and Longevity and retain a complete report just a single click away.

Site Assurance raises the bar for independent third-party "seal" and "certification" programs by combining many of the best features with a unique method for determining critical other factors. They are also offering a 3-month free trial for Webmasters who take advantage of this service by December 31, 2004 and they even waive the setup fee.

In today's online marketplace consumers need the tools to help identify the various types of criminal element proliferating the Internet. An example of this criminal activity is the 'fly-by-night' Webmaster. An unethical Webmaster can launch a Web Site on a Monday market the site on major search engines using 'pay-per-click' advertising for a week earning tens of thousands of dollars and then disappear completely leaving the consumer with limited or no recourse. Equally as bad are those criminals who "spoof" a web site, creating a copy that draws some or all of a Web Sites' visitors and then illegally collecting personally identifiable information including credit card data, social security numbers, etc.

Site Assurance helps to protect a consumer by providing them with the tools they need to check out a merchant before they provide them with any information. "Not only do we test to see if the Web Site is Authentic", states Erik Bowman, president, "we verify that they offer a Privacy Policy; a method for consumers to reach them for Support; as well as a unique method for determining how long their web site has been active, what we refer to as Longevity."

Site Assurance does have competition for third-party seal programs; however, they have taken the best features of each, added valuable features not available anywhere and kept the price point low enough to allow even the smallest merchant site to participate.

Currently Business Owners can add the Site Assurance Seal to their web sites free for 3 months, just in time for the holiday rush. Normally there is a $19.95 setup fee plus a $5.95 monthly maintenance fee. The service is available now at http://www. siteassurance. com (http://www. siteassurance. com).

Setup is easy. Simply copy some text onto your home page, save it, view your web page through a web browser, click on the new icon that appears and complete the short form. Site Assurance then runs a certification report for your web site and your done! The entire process should take less than 5 minutes.

Site Assurance provides consumers with a un-biased; independent source for assuring that a participating Web Site meets certain criteria defined to enhance the consumers' online experience. Site Assurance Site Assurance is a BMGI Ventures company.

Police-Writers. com as the 12th NYPD, 112th Police Author

Police-Writers. com as the 12th NYPD, 112th Police Author

Police-Writers. com, a website dedicated to police officers turned authors, has added its 112th police author, Robert Mladinich.

San Dimas, CA (PRWEB) September 8, 2006

Police-Writers. com, a website dedicated to police officers turned authors, has added its 112th police author, Robert Mladinich. Robert served 20 years with the New York Police Department, retiring as a detective. He is the twelfth NYPD police officer to be added to Police-Writers. com. Robert earned a Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Brockport and currently services as the Communications Director for the Sergeant’s Benevolent Association.

The Sergeants Benevolent Association is comprised of approximately 10,000 active and retired sergeants of the New York City Police Department. An independent union, it acts as the collective bargaining unit for those officers during contract negotiations with the City of New York, and manages a variety of other projects – including health and welfare programs, political outreach efforts and community service initiatives – for the benefit of its members and their families. The breadth of the association’s activities is wide, but above all else, the SBA is an advocate for New York’s police sergeants, the officers who stand at the Frontline of our nation’s largest metropolitan police department.

Robert Mladinich’s debut novel, From The Mouth Of The Monster: The Joel Rifkin Story, is the true crime story of a cop and a serial killer who met in college and are bound together by fate. In 1979, the two met as journalism students. Over two decades later, New York Police Department Detective Mladinich visited Rifkin in prison to examine what both had made of their lives. And, to explore Rifkin’s savage murder of seventeen young women.

In a chilling series of exchanges, Rifkin bared his soul to Mladinich, chronicling his lost years: the missed opportunities, the failed relationships, and the terrible details behind his killings. But Mladinich probed deeper, forcing Rifkin to confront the horrifying nature of his crimes. Drawn from interviews with Rifkin and his mother, and conversations with acquaintances and professionals who encountered him, From The Mouth Of The Monster is an exacting true-crime portrayal and a chilling study of the possible evil within us all.

Police-Writers. com now lists 112 police authors and their 338 books in six categories.

TMW Systems Announces Free CSA 2010 Data Monitoring Tool

TMW Systems Announces Free CSA 2010 Data Monitoring Tool

The new, Web-based service from TMW, named “CSA Management,” gives carriers extended capabilities for analyzing and transforming all of their Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) safety rating data for further insight and action, including government data challenge.

Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) May 17, 2010

TMW Systems announced today that it would be making available a free service for its carrier customers designed to help them monitor and manage their critical Comprehensive Safety Analysis (CSA) safety scores and data. The new government safety scoring program, referred to as CSA 2010, promises to affect many carriers significantly and TMW saw the need to provide its customers with powerful tools to help protect themselves in the evolving regulatory environment.

The new, Web-based service from TMW, named “CSA Management,” gives carriers extended capabilities for analyzing and transforming all of their Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) safety rating data for further insight and action, including government data challenge. While the CSA program and government Web site is still in limited roll-out in a few states, subject to ongoing changes, TMW is similarly offering CSA Management at no-charge, first to its customers in CSA test states then expanding access as the reach of the government program grows. Customers not in CSA test states may also request the application in order to familiarize themselves with the available FMCSA data in advance of full access to the CSA integrated scoring program.

TMW Systems is the leading developer and supplier of software designed specifically for the transportation services industry, including trucking, brokerage and logistics operations. The company offers and supports a full portfolio of operations, dispatch, fleet maintenance, TMS and carrier profitability systems for businesses throughout North America. All TMW customers may take advantage of the free CSA Management application, subject to limited availability, in tandem with the government’s gradual program roll-out in selected states.

“TMW products have long incorporated features that help carriers to keep their drivers safe and to improve vehicle health monitoring to minimize inspection violations. Our CSA Management on-line service will further help carriers monitor their all-important CSA safety ratings to stay on top of potentially negative trends, identify specific problem areas requiring attention and even spot data inaccuracies that may warrant challenge,” said David W. Wangler, President and CEO of TMW Systems. “Together with our enterprise operations software and our fleet maintenance applications, we expect CSA Management to help carriers better protect their governmental safety standings as well as promote a culture of safety within their day-to-day operations.”

With enterprise transportation software platforms widely used in the motor carrier industry and fleet maintenance software applications touching over one million pieces of equipment in North America, TMW Systems has steadily expanded product capabilities related to safety over the years. These features include tools and applications to monitor and coach driver behavior and audit driver logs, maintain centralized safety and accident data collection and reporting, and capture vehicle maintenance lifecycle and inspection details thoroughly.

Wangler also noted that an emphasis on regular safety promotion practices, driver review and coaching to help prevent inspection violations, driver accidents and citations would do the most to protect carriers from CSA interventions or to respond proactively if such interventions occur.

CSA 2010 is a FMCSA initiative to improve large truck and bus safety and ultimately reduce commercial motor vehicle (CMV)-related crashes, injuries and fatalities. It introduces a new enforcement and compliance model that allows FMCSA and its State partners to contact a larger number of carriers earlier in order to address safety problems before crashes occur.

Once they have obtained log-in access to their own safety data and ratings on the government’s CSA 2010 Web site, customers of any TMW software product who are active on support and maintenance with the company may request access to the free CSA Management application through their TMW technical support channels.

About TMW Systems
TMW Systems is the leading provider of enterprise transportation software, including TL2000, TruckMate, Innovative IES and TMWSuite. For use with all major operations platforms in the trucking industry, TMW also offers TMT Fleet Maintenance software, IDSC ExpertFuel for fuel routing, IDSC Netwise for yield optimization and IDSC MatchAdvice and TripAlert to improve asset utilization. Attorney Adrienne Blocker has recently joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin as a Litigation attorney in the Personal Injury Department.

Durham, NC (PRWEB) April 22, 2010

Attorney Adrienne Blocker has recently joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin as a Litigation attorney in the Personal Injury Department.

Adrienne Blocker (http://www. farrin. com/about-us/our-attorneys/702-attorney-adrienne-blocker. html) worked as a legal secretary and a certified legal assistant for 12 years before receiving her J. D. from Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in 1998. She received her B. A. in Business Management from Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota in 1990.

Following law school, Adrienne took a position as an attorney at a law firm in Greensboro, North Carolina where she served as the Litigation Group Practice Leader, as well as ethics counsel for the firm.

It was in this position that Adrienne obtained membership in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum,* a group of attorneys who have won million and multi-million verdicts and settlements on behalf of their clients. Less than 1 percent of U. S. lawyers are members of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.

In December of 2006, Adrienne teamed up with two other attorneys to establish a boutique civil litigation firm in Greensboro. U. S. Trains Iraq Navy with Ocean Container Simulators

U. S. Trains Iraq Navy with Ocean Container Simulators

A Pittsburgh-based specialty vehicle manufacturer rises to the challenge of container modification. Mobile Concepts by Scotty, a specialty commercial vehicle and trailer manufacturing company, completed the first of two Department of Defense contracts for ocean shipping container modification last Friday— a project turned away by other companies due to time constraints.

Mount Pleasant, PA (Vocus) December 28, 2009

Housing for naval training simulators is the next big project rolling out the doors of one small company located in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania.

Mobile Concepts by Scotty, a specialty commercial vehicle and trailer manufacturing company, completed the first of two Department of Defense contracts for ocean shipping container modification December 18— a project turned away by other companies due to time constraints.

Mobile Concepts was contacted about the project in July by Brian Wythe from VSD, LLC., who is handling the training program and curriculum, in Virginia Beach, Virginia:
1. The custom modification and conjoining of two shipping containers into a Full Mission Bridge Trainer (FMBT), a training center that simulates the bridge of a naval ship and
2. The custom remodeling of a single shipping container to accommodate a Small Arms Trainer (SAT).

The obstacle was that the first portion of the project had to be completed by the end of 2009.

“The time constraint wasn’t a deterrent for us,” stated Chris Simon, Mobile Concepts’ Vice President of Sales. “We’re not a huge company, but you would think so by what comes out of our manufacturing facility. We have the unique ability to give you that one-on-one attention you might not get somewhere else, but we’re large enough to get the job done when and how you need it.”

After leaving the Mobile Concepts factory, the FMBT containers will be shipped to Northrop Grumman in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, for a 3-month installation of ship simulator components on their replica naval ship. The next leg of the trip will take the fully-equipped FMBT to Morgan City, Louisiana, where it will be housed by Swiftships, who are known for their top quality military vessels.

It will be used to train members of the Iraq Navy in ship navigation. It will eventually be transported to its final destination in Iraq after the initial group of Iraq Naval personnel has completed training stateside.

The second portion of the project, the SAT container, will be completed by Mobile Concepts by the end of January, 2010. It will be used to train the Iraq Navy on the use of deck-mounted weaponry on their ships. Virtual reality training equipment and software will be installed by Dynamic Animation Systems, Inc., of Fairfax, Virginia.

Mobile Concepts’ 50,000-square-foot factory is manned and equipped to handle the many challenges that can arise during projects like these.

“Although we’ve modified ocean shipping containers in the past, this project challenged our design team because of the need to join two containers together to accommodate the large Northrop Grumman pilot house simulator, but Mobile Concepts will always accommodate Department of Defense customers,” explained company president Anne Degre.

“I welcome those projects that the faint-hearted are afraid of. My facility has been operating on a 24/7 schedule to meet this crucial deadline, and I am proud of my talented staff of management and production team members whom have completed this project on time. They are always up for the task and are willing to accept challenges,” continued Degre.

The biggest challenge that faced Mobile Concepts during this project was finding the best way to keep the structural integrity of the shipping container after removing a 22 foot piece of the wall in order to join the two containers.

“We worked together as a team to finalize and execute the best plan to keep the container structurally sound because the customer needed to be able to walk around on top and install antennas as well as hold up to the elements and shipping wear and tear for years to come,” said Simon.

This creative-spirit is inherited from Mobile Concepts’ roots. Degre added, “My father and grandfather started this company more than 50 years ago from an idea sketched on the back of a napkin, and since then we’ve become the leader in several industries – adapting our approach as needed to better serve our customers.”

Today, the company custom designs and manufactures specialty vehicles for agencies in government, military, law enforcement, police, utility, healthcare and private enterprise.

Visit http://www. MobileConcepts. com for more information about the many other custom vehicles Mobile Concepts offers.

The Naval Air (NAVAIR) Warfare Center Training Systems Division, Orlando, Florida, is the contracting activity (N61339-09-C-0034).

5 Ways to Insure Your Volunteer Vacation Remains a Dream

5 Ways to Insure Your Volunteer Vacation Remains a Dream

Avoid a Nightmare: i-to-i Helps Active Seniors Choose Volunteer Travel Provider

(PRWEB) December 9, 2004

ItÂ’s no secret that thousands of active seniors are seeking out volunteer vacations each year, preferring a meaningful experience helping the underprivileged to a bus tour or cruise. Beyond the decision to go to Boise or Brazil, and finding out if theyÂ’ll be bedding down in a lean-to or lodge, would-be volunteers need to make careful choices on the myriad of vacation providers available today.

To help cut through the clutter, i-to-I Volunteer Travel, organizing volunteer vacations abroad, offers these tips on how seniors can choose a provider offering the best fit:

1. Something old or something new – History can be a good thing in choosing a volunteer vacation provider. Find out how many years the organization has been in business, and how well-established the firm is in the industry.

2. Conservation or communications – Make sure you choose a provider that supports issues in which you are interested. Different companies offer volunteer experiences in areas ranging from journalism to nature conservation to teaching.

3. Making plans or making do– Does the volunteer organization youÂ’re considering provide pre-departure advice on visas, inoculations, and cultural expectations for the country youÂ’ll visit?

4. In sickness or in health – Get details on travel and health insurance. Is it part of the fee? What does it include?

5. Emergency response or emergency chaos – Learn what type of emergency transportation, communications, and logistics support the company pro¬vides if the unexpected happens while youÂ’re on a trip. Find out how theyÂ’ll work to get you what you need, and how theyÂ’ll get you home if necessary.

For seniors, deciding on a vacation provider is just as important as deciding on the type of trip, says Lee Ann Johnson, managing director of i-to-i. “We’ve found that active seniors want more out of their travel by immersing themselves in the local culture, something that a volunteer vacation uniquely offers. Women, who make up more than two-thirds of older volunteer vacationers, are especially conscious of logistical support and pre-planning as¬sistance offered by travel providers, Johnson adds.

Johnson points out that it also is critical to learn the details of the trip itself – location, living situation, housing, type and amount of work to expect, day-to-day scheduling. “But no matter how interesting the work and travel destination, the provider’s organization structure and support need to be in place as a foundation,” she stresses.

The “50-plus” bracket is one of the fastest-growing volunteer vacation markets. i-to-i estimates the number of bookings from that group will triple in 2005. And with the “baby boom” generation beginning to turn 65 in 2011, it will only grow faster. “This is a active, interested, energetic market that needs to be served, and served well,” says Johnson.

I-to-i Volunteer Travel is an international volunteer vacation organization, specializing in helping disadvan¬taged communi¬ties and ecosystems around the world. The company arranges placements of 1-24 weeks in teaching, conservation, com¬munity work, building and a variety of other projects in more than 20 countries. Founded in 1994 with international head¬quarters in Leeds, England, i-to-i North America is based in Denver, Colo. To date, the company has brought nearly 10,000 volunteers together in projects around the world. Successful Entrepreneur Dr. Lloyd Watts' New Book "The Flow of Time and Money" Offers First Unified Guide to Both Time and Money Management

Successful Entrepreneur Dr. Lloyd Watts' New Book "The Flow of Time and Money" Offers First Unified Guide to Both Time and Money Management

California entrepreneur Dr. Lloyd Watts' new book "The Flow of Time and Money" (www. flowoftimeandmoney. com) shows how to be more productive, financially fit and fulfilled. The new book is the first unified guide of both time and money management, featuring numerous and compelling diagrams to illustrate its key concepts. The book has been translated into Chinese and soon will be out in Italian, Spanish, German and Turkish.

Mountain View, CA (PRWEB) August 12, 2008

Successful entrepreneur Dr. Lloyd Watts wrote, "The Flow of TIme and Money" (www. flowoftimeandmoney. com) to help people become more productive, financially successful and fulfilled. This is the first book to provide the unified treatment of both time and money management, and it features many diagrams to illustrate the key concepts. It has been translated into Chinese, and soon will be out in Italian, Spanish, German and Turkish.

"I believe that how we spend our time and our money determines the quality of our lives," Watts declares. "If you invest time in your education, relationships, health and skills, and if you invest your money in assets that produce capital gains and passive income, your life will be fulfilling and full of comforts and pleasures -- with a legacy worth leaving behind. In this book (www. flowoftimeandmoney. com), I suggest practical actions to lead you quickly along the path to financial independence and increased effectiveness in daily life, ultimately to make your highest contribution to the world."

Silicon Valley pioneer Carver Mead says, "For 20 years I have watched Dr. Watts live his life and grow his company using the principles outlined in 'The Flow of Time and Money'. This book captures the mind-set of a young man creating lasting wealth."

Ray Kurzweil, entrepreneur, inventor, futurist and award-winning author ("The 10% Solution for a Healthy Life" and five other books) states, "Dr. Watts has taken the secrets of wealth creation and personal productivity and made them accessible to everyone. With ever-increasing life spans becoming a reality, this book is a must-read for achieving financial security."

In the book, Dr. Watts teaches how to avoid the "borrow and spend" and "save and spend" financial traps of the middle class. "Accumulating capital and learning to invest beyond your home are important steps that many people are afraid to make," Watts says. "But if you know how, you can create the financial future of your dreams."

Watts lists and explains nine attitudes that lead to financial independence: 1) ability to defer gratification, 2) lack of the need for external indications of status, 3) strong financial education, 4) no fear of numbers and accounting, 5) commitment to lifetime learning, 6) ability to manage risk, 7) healthy financial responsibility in a relationship, 8) ability to make sustained effort and 9) acceptance of wealth.

"If you are going to become wealthy, rather than just look wealthy, you are going to need to live below your means, so you can accumulate capital for the purpose of investing and creating businesses," Watts explains. "So you don't want to spend money on the things that will only make you look wealthy."

In a period when the national credit crisis is sapping the resources of millions, Watts's book is particularly timely, given a recent Charles Schwab study revealing that the iPod Generation (people 18-29) is currently suffering an epidemic of debt.

Dr. Watts's book offers lots of practical advice, including: "keep your expenses low," "avoid consumer debt," "regularly transfer 10% of your income into a new investing account" and "start with a base layer of stable, low-risk investments, and then, as your capital grows, you can assume higher risk on your later money."

"It takes time to create the foundation for wealth and fulfillment, and it is important to manage your time as well as your money to get the most out of life and make your greatest contribution. Many people have trouble with long-term goals that require sustained but intermittent effort. This book shows you how to achieve your long-term goals, even in the presence of daily distractions."

More than just a guidebook on how to become wealthy or how to manage your time, "The Flow of Time and Money" is about building a fulfilling life, realizing your higher purpose and making your greatest contribution to the world.

Pets With Grain Allergies Do Tail Spins: No Grainers 100% Grain-Free Dog Treats Offer A Unique & Healthy Alternative To Grain While Giving Them What They Really Want... Protein

Allergies are the number one reason veterinarians treat dogs nationwide, according to the Veterinary Pet Insurance Company, costing Americans approximately $16 million in vet bills each year. Many pet owners do not know most dog treats contain inexpensive corn and wheat fillers. In fact, grain-based treats can cause increased allergic reactions in dogs. With dog happiness in mind, HBH Pet Products carefully formulated No Grainers Dog Biscuits and Treats as a unique 100% grain-free alternative.

Springville, UT (Vocus) June 3, 2009

Allergies are the number one reason veterinarians treat dogs nationwide, according to the Veterinary Pet Insurance Company (as posted by the American Veterinary Medical Association), costing Americans approximately $16 million in vet bills each year. Many pet owners do not know most dog treats contain inexpensive corn and wheat fillers. In fact, grain-based treats can cause increased allergic reactions in dogs that have sensitivities to corn and wheat. With dog health and happiness in mind, HBH Pet Products carefully formulated No Grainers® Dog Biscuits and Treats as a unique 100% grain-free alternative specifically for pet owners who want to give their dogs a natural reward.

“As more and more pet owners become aware of the type of grains used to make their own food, they are taking a second look at their dog’s food. Ask any dog owner and they will likely tell you their dogs prefer protein-based treats,” explains Colette Dahl, manager of new product development at HBH Pet Products. “Some dogs have trouble processing foods that are grain based, which can wreak havoc on their systems. Because No Grainers understands the importance of having protein as a staple in a dog’s diet, we developed these delicious beef, chicken and pork treats.”

No Grainers Biscuits and Treats have the highest protein content in their category. In fact, to get the same amount of protein found in one bag of No Grainers Biscuits, a dog would need to eat approximately 2 1/2 boxes of the competing biscuit.

No Grainers chicken-bacon flavored biscuits come in small, medium and large sizes to suit any size dog. No Grainers are also offered as a semi-soft treat in three gourmet flavors: Hickory Smoked Pork, BBQ Chicken and Tender Beef. The treats are available at Wal-Mart for $1.50 per 7 oz. package and the biscuits are $3.50 for a 20 oz. bag. Based on cost and health factors, it is easy to see why, “Choosing No Grainers® is a definite no brainer!”

About HBH Pet Products
HBH Pet Products began in 1988 with just four aquarium foods and has quickly grown over the last decade into one of the industry’s leading manufacturers. HBH Pet Products now offers products for just about every type of aquatic animal, including a large selection of species-specific diets. The company’s Betta Bites® fish food has been the best-selling Betta formula on the market for over a decade. In addition, HBH Pet Products offers the only pellet foods specifically designed for the delicate digestive systems of newts, salamanders, and fully aquatic frogs and tadpoles. In 2004 the firm introduced a new line of dog safe chocolate flavored treats called Chocolicks which led to entry into new markets for dogs and cats and to the current release of grain free, No Grainers® line.
