Discount Vitamin Provider VitaminMe Goes Regional

Discount Vitamin Provider VitaminMe Goes Regional

Geelong residents will soon be able to fulfill all their health and wellness need with VitaminMe set to open its doors at Waurn Ponds.

Melbourne, Victoria (PRWEB) October 20, 2009

Discount vitamins (http://www. vitaminme. com. au/site/page. cfm) retailer VitaminMe is on its way to becoming a household name, as it continues its expansion into regional Victoria. With stores already offering consumers savings in Corio and Westfield Geelong, Waurn Ponds will be the latest area to benefit from this one-stop shop.

General manager Tony Uechtritz is behind the VitaminMe concept. He says he was inspired to open the first store in Elizabeth Street, Melbourne in 2005, after noticing a real gap in the retail sale of health food products.

"Our ongoing expansion is part of a plan to capitalise on the strong growth in the health and wellness industry."

In an economic climate where money is tight, VitaminMe makes big name brands a viable option for all people wanting to invest in their own health.

"Regional areas tend to be monopolised by independent operators charging inflated prices, which can deter people from trying natural health vitamins and supplements (http://www. vitaminme. com. au/site/page. cfm). We offer the same range of goods at the same low prices as our metropolitan stores," Uechtritz says.

Service and great value are paramount to VitaminMe, which pride themselves on providing an extensive range of nutritional products such as vitamins, minerals, supplements, herbs, sports nutrition formulas, homeopathic remedies, and health and beauty aids at the cheapest prices.

VitaminMe is about more than just everyday low prices and cheap vitamins (http://www. vitaminme. com. au/site/page. cfm? u=26); the unique presentation and merchandising methods make for an inviting and friendly shopping experience. Uechtritz says the company offer consumers the opportunity to take charge of their own health and wellness requirements, and supplement where necessary.

"We hire qualified and passionate staff and put a big emphasis on helping every customer beyond their expectations. Our staff actually enjoy coming to work as recruitment and retention is a big focus for us as a business. Therefore, entering the Geelong market not only benefits the community by way of cheaper products, but provides jobs in a time when work is scarce."

VitaminMe is an industry leader in its field, not only offering top quality products at unbeatable prices, but giving product and nutrition advise. Each store is dedicated to helping customers find answers for everybody, with qualified naturopaths, dieticians and specialists in sports supplements (http://www. vitaminme. com. au/site/page. cfm? u=28) on hand.

VitaminMe is growing at an impressive rate, with a dozen stores already located across Melbourne, including three in regional Victoria and one in Tasmania. But the expansion doesn't stop there. Uechtritz says there'll be a VitaminMe store opening in Ballarat before Christmas, with more outlets planned for the New Year.

Wireless Sensor Solutions to Save $25 billion in Annual Healthcare Costs by 2012

Wireless Sensor Solutions to Save $25 billion in Annual Healthcare Costs by 2012

A recently released report by ON World illustrates several "killer apps" for Wireless Sensor Networking in Healthcare for Ambient Assisted Living and Body Sensor Networks.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) August 6, 2008

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) solutions are gearing up to save the healthcare industry $25 billion in 2012 by reducing hospitalizations and extending independent living for seniors, according to a recent study by ON World.

"With a clear return on investment and high average revenue per user, healthcare is one of the most funded research areas for WSN, says Mareca Hatler, ON World's director of research. "There are literally dozens of healthcare WSN "killer apps" for outpatient monitoring, chronic disease management, and elderly care."

In 2007, life-saving systems such as ambulatory cardiac monitoring made up the lion's share of the revenues. However, over the next decade the fastest growing WSN markets will be preventive health and wellness solutions. Governments and industry are working together and investing in technologies such as WSN to address the global $4 trillion dollar healthcare market that is expected to double over the next decade.

Two of the most promising healthcare WSN solution areas are the following:

Ambient Assisted Living:
Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) systems enable the elderly to stay independent as long as possible. Additional benefits are that these systems will save millions of dollars annually by avoiding the high cost of institutional care and saving home care workers from unnecessary visits and high gas bills.

"Smart home" Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) technologies such as ZigBee, Z-Wave, and ultra low power WiFi are essential elements of AAL by enabling discreet battery powered sensors to be placed throughout the home. Companies that are currently offering wireless sensor based AAL systems and/or services include CMI (SimplyHome), Grand Care, HealthSense, Living Independently (QuietCare), and Tunstall.

Body Sensor Networks:
Body Sensor Networks (BSNs) consist of wearable or implantable wireless sensors for monitoring vital signs such as heart rate, heart electrical activity (ECG), blood glucose monitoring, and blood oxygen levels. BSNs have the potential to prevent unnecessary hospitalizations as well as improving the rates of recovery and reducing post-operative morbidity. There are dozens of BSN innovations underway by research organizations and commercial companies worldwide that are striving to make these systems more accurate, user-friendly, and comfortable.

Today, wireless BSN systems are available for cardiac monitoring from BioWatch, CardioNet, LifeSync, LifeWatch. In addition, companies such as Alive Technologies, Abbott, Dexcom, LifeScan, Medtronic, and Nonin offer wireless BSN products for diabetes and other chronic disease management applications. Bluetooth has the most support for BSNs with its recently completed Bluetooth Health Device Profile (HDP) and upcoming Bluetooth low energy protocol.

Pervasive Computing for Healthcare:
The parallel advances of Ambient Assisted Living and Body Sensor Networking has presented the need for advanced middleware software and new standards to provide seamless computing for these heterogeneous systems. For example, a typical home health system may consist of a WiFi home data network, ZigBee or Z-Wave for ambient wireless sensing systems, and Bluetooth or ANT for vital sign monitors. Future at-home health networks will also need to integrate multiple care givers and healthcare practitioners. Organizations and research initiatives that are driving healthcare innovations and standards include CAST, EU's Ambient Assisted Living Joint Programme, and the Continua Health Alliance.

ON World's recently published report, "Wireless Sensor Networks for Healthcare," is based 155 interviews with healthcare organizations, vendors, suppliers, and industry experts. It provides in-depth analysis on the drivers, threats, and opportunities for wireless sensor networking for hospitals, institutional care, and at-home health. The report features five year market size forecasts, coverage of over 43 leading competitors, and several performance comparisons of ANT, Bluetooth, ZigBee, Z-Wave, and WiFi using ON World's proprietary software tool, the wsnSimulator™.

Tramadol HCL (Generic Ultram) Found to be Helpful for Chronic Back Pain

Tramadol HCL (Generic Ultram) Found to be Helpful for Chronic Back Pain

According to Minnesota-based investigators, opioid therapy can provide significant pain relief for patients with chronic back pain due to the non-cancerous disorders of the spine and is unlikely to lead to the development of tolerance or addiction.

(PRWEB) February 28, 2005

Dr. Maren L. Mahowald and the colleagues of the Minneapolis VA Medical Center point out the concerns regarding efficacy and side effects of the opioids in the Medical journal. The narcotic agents have a role in the treatment of pain associated with the conditions like damaged disks and intolerable back pain after the surgery.

The researchers analyzed the use of drugs. A total of 152 patients were prescribed opioids like codeine, oxycodone, propoxyphene and tramadol. Ninety-four patients took them for less than 3 months. Interviews conducted with a cross-section of the opioid users showed that these agents significantly reduced the severity of back pain, from 8.3 to 4.5 on a 10-point scale. The patients did not find that the drugs became less effective over time, and there was no significant increase in the average daily dose of opioid over the study period.

The authors conclude that, "doubts or concerns about opioid efficacy, toxicity, tolerance, and abuse or addiction should not be used to justify the withholding of opioids from patients who have pain related to defined spinal diseases."

This study, they add, "provides clinical evidence to support and protect physicians treating patients with chronic musculoskeletal diseases, who may be reluctant to prescribe opioids because of possible sanctions from regulatory agencies."

The Institute of Women’s Health of North America to Offer Free Chlamydia Testing at All Affiliated Campuses – Dr. Abdul Rao

The Institute of Women’s Health of North America to Offer Free Chlamydia Testing at All Affiliated Campuses – Dr. Abdul Rao

Given the rising number of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), the Institute of Women’s Health of North America will be offering free testing for Chlamydia at all six affiliated campuses in the State of Florida. This was announced by Abdul Rao, MD, MA, DPhil., Chief Executive Officer and Chief Research Officer of the Institute in a meeting with health care providers in Polk county yesterday.

Orlando, FL (Vocus) December 10, 2009

Given the rising number of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), the Institute of Women’s Health of North America will be offering free testing for Chlamydia at all six affiliated campuses in the State of Florida. This was announced by Abdul Rao, MD, MA, DPhil., Chief Executive Officer and Chief Research Officer of the Institute in a meeting with health care providers in Polk county yesterday.

Chlamydia, which is caused by Chlamydia trachomatis, is the most common sexually transmitted infection (STI) in the United States. In 2006, over a million cases of Chlamydia infection were reported in the U. S.; a number, generally believed to be grossly underestimated since most individuals infected with Chlamydia are not aware of their infection nor do they seek testing and treatment. Based on the U. S. National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, an estimated 2,291,000 non-institutionalized individuals between the ages of 14-39 years are infected with Chlamydia in this country.

Chlamydia infection is found in both men and women and can be transmitted during vaginal, anal, or oral sex. It can also be transmitted by an infected mother to a newborn during vaginal delivery. Due to relative immaturity of the cervix, sexually-active teenage girls and young women are most susceptible to this infection. Unlike prevailing dogma, men having sex with men are also at increased risk for Chlamydia infection due to the fact that it can be transmitted by anal and oral sex.

“Many people with Chlamydia exhibit no symptoms of infection and do not know that they are infected” said Dr. Abdul Rao, CEO and Chief Research Officer of the Institute of Women’s Health of North America (IWHNA). “If untreated, Chlamydia infections can cause serious reproductive and other health problems with both short and long-term consequences”.

In untreated women, Chlamydia infection spreads into the uterus or fallopian tubes and results in pelvic inflammatory diseases which can cause permanent damage of these organs and surrounding tissues resulting in chronic pelvic pain, infertility, and ectopic pregnancy. If exposed, women infected with Chlamydia are shown to be five times more likely to become infected with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). This is particularly disconcerting given the fact that Chlamydia infection can be easily treated with antibiotics if diagnosed in a timely manner.

“As the largest women’s healthcare provider in the State, we are obligated to offer this test free-of-charge to women” said Abdul Sohail Rao, CEO and Chief Research Officer of IWHNA. “Along with HIV counseling, testing and referral services which are available free to both men and women at all our affiliated campuses, this is an attempt on the part of the Institute to create a comprehensive preventative program for STI in both men and women in our State”.

To learn more about this program and to schdeule a free test, please visit our website or call Jessica Loren at 1-877-966-3672.

The Institute of Women’s Health of North America, Inc., is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization established in the State of Florida in 1997. Its mission is to improve women’s health through outstanding clinical care, cutting-edge clinical and behavioral research, education and community outreach. It has affiliated campuses in six cities in Florida and is planning to extend its services to other underserved areas in the state and the nation. It depends on the benevolence of its donors for accomplishing its mission and vision. Engage Mutual Confirms The Myth That Men Are Bigger Whiners When Ill Compared To Women

Engage Mutual Confirms The Myth That Men Are Bigger Whiners When Ill Compared To Women

A new survey supports the myth that men complain more about aches and pains than women.

(PRWEB) June 18, 2010

Men are bigger whingers when ill than women, according to new research.

A new survey supports the myth that men complain more about aches and pains than women.

The results show that while women are more likely to complain about minor ailments on a daily basis, men feel the most sorry for themselves when they are actually ill.

And while men are less likely to suffer from real illnesses – five bouts a year compared to seven for women - when they do get poorly, they tend to seek maximum amounts of sympathy.

The Engage Mutual (http://www. engagemutual. com) survey of 3,000 people shows nearly half of all men exaggerate their symptoms of illness – a common cold becomes flu and a headache turns into a full blown migraine.

According to their partners, more than 57 per cent of men become attention seeking when ill, with 65 per cent constantly moaning and groaning.

When it comes to taking time off, men are the real martyrs, with 76 per cent choosing to take their symptoms to work, rather than recover at home.

Karl Elliott at health cash plan (http://www. engagemutual. com/products/health-cash-plan/at-a-glance/) provider, Engage Mutual, said:

“Men have had a bad press concerning their tendencies towards ‘man flu’, but our findings support the belief that men do moan more and are more likely to exaggerate their symptoms.

“They may have fewer bouts of genuine sickness a year, five compared to the seven suffered by women, but when ill, their attention seeking behaviour makes sure their partner knows about it.

“But even though men look for maximum sympathy, they tend to struggle on, being less likely to take time off work for an illness.”

“Minor ailments aside, it is important for men to recognise and act on any genuine health concerns.

“Whether taking professional advice, or seeking suitable remedies and treatments to aid recovery, it is important to address any issues in order to maintain good levels of health.”

Despite 34 per cent of men’s partners rarely believing their claims to illness are genuine, 62 per cent can still be relied upon to serve up some sympathy.

Six in 10 find it awful to see their man poorly, and 49 per cent make the effort to wait on them hand and foot. Two thirds of partners whip out to the pharmacy to stock up on requested remedies whenever their man is ill; 46 per cent run them a bath; and 27 per cent provide breakfast in bed.

On the other side of the gender coin, the survey suggests women tend to be more vocal about their aches and pains on a daily basis.

According to their partners, 45 per cent of women have a low pain threshold, and 36 per cent frequently get ‘woman flu’.

But if they do become ill, women can rely on some serious tlc. Twenty nine per cent of their partners stated they had taken time off work to care for their woman when sick and 33 per cent say they would always buy flowers, dvds or magazines to cheer them up.

Women’s partners also scored higher on getting up in the night (32 per cent) and making them breakfast in bed (29 per cent) when they were ill.

Karl Elliott concluded:

“Women score higher than men on being prepared to dole out the sympathy for an attention seeking partner, regardless of whether they believe they are genuinely ill, or not.

“But when it comes to doing the little things that make a partner more comfortable when they are ill, men and women seem to be more evenly matched.”

Mineralife Launches New Site for Their Mineral Supplement Product Line

Mineralife Launches New Site for Their Mineral Supplement Product Line

Mineralife LLC has announced the launch of their new Web site and updated product line.

Colorado Springs, CO (PRWEB) May 1, 2008

Mineralife LLC, the company known nationwide for their professional grade liquid ionic mineral supplements, has announced the launch of their new Web site (http://www. mineralifeonline. com (http://www. mineralifeonline. com)) and updated product line.

Mineralife Ionic Minerals are meticulously prepared from a pure elemental source in the purest energy enhanced structured water (a multi - step purification and energizing process) called QFE-Water, delivering ionic minerals that so small they are completely used by the body. Most mineral supplements currently on the market have extremely low rates of absorption and are in forms that are not capable of reaching the cell level where they are needed. Mineralife's liquid minerals however, have a 98% absorption rate.

"This basically means you don't always get what you pay for," said Neil Butterfield, CEO of Mineralife. "Most mineral supplements aren't efficiently absorbed into the body, so while the label on the bottle might say it provides 100% of what you need in a day, your body may only absorb 10% of that, meaning you threw away 90% of your money. Prominent Arizona Health Insurer Selects Third Brigade's Host-based Intrusion Prevention System

Prominent Arizona Health Insurer Selects Third Brigade's Host-based Intrusion Prevention System

Third Brigade (www. thirdbrigade. com), a security software company that specializes in intrusion prevention systems (IPS), today announced Deep Security, its host-based IPS, has been selected by one of the largest health insurers in the state of Arizona, serving 1.5 million residents.

Ottawa, ON and Reston, VA (PRWEB) June 20, 2006

Third Brigade (www. thirdbrigade. com), a security software company that specializes in intrusion prevention systems (IPS), today announced Deep Security, its host-based IPS, has been selected by one of the largest health insurers in the state of Arizona, serving 1.5 million residents.

Health insurers rely heavily on critical systems to process millions of member transactions. And like most payors, this company’s systems are increasingly accessible via the Internet, as it extends its applications to members, providers and other partners. As a result it’s become more challenging and important to protect the availability and integrity of these systems, and the confidentially of sensitive data. Host-based IPS is a security best-practice and complements the company’s defense-in-depth strategy.

“Third Brigade Deep Security will protect our Windows, Linux and other hosts, and allows us to proactively shield vulnerabilities in these critical servers from targeted attacks until patches can be deployed.” said the CTO of the insurer. “We were particularly impressed with the management system in Third Brigade’s product: it’s powerful, flexible and intuitive, and will help minimize administration costs.”

Third Brigade Deep Security protects the platforms and applications upon which businesses rely. It includes powerful, preconfigured security profiles for over 80 different critical software applications, on three different platforms (Windows, Linux and Unix), from dozens of vendors. The protected applications include databases, email servers, and web server infrastructure from vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Novell, HP, Apache and SendMail. Additional out-of-the-box rules provide immediate protection for custom-built software applications.

“Third Brigade’s IPS was designed to support businesses that have large, processing-intensive, dynamic and heterogeneous IT environments,” said Wael Mohamed, President and CEO of Third Brigade. “Our unique approach, which uses host-based deep packet inspection, also dramatically shortens the time-to-protection for organizations, while reducing the day-to-day operating costs typically associated with host-based IPS.”

About Third Brigade

Third Brigade specializes in providing intrusion prevention systems (IPS) to health care, government, telecommunications, financial services and other organizations that need to prevent attacks that exploit vulnerabilities in commercial and custom software, including web applications. It enables you to create and enforce comprehensive security policies that proactively protect critical applications, sensitive data, and hosts, ensure regulatory compliance, and maximize the performance of your people, processes and hosts. Unlike other intrusion prevention systems, Third Brigade’s is not intrusive. It has been architected from the ground-up for intrusion prevention, and is smaller, faster and simpler. Third Brigade. That’s control.

An Easy Way to Grow Healthy Fresh Produce Indoors and Get Good Eats in One Week

An Easy Way to Grow Healthy Fresh Produce Indoors and Get Good Eats in One Week

Urban dwellers and people with limited living space don't have to depend solely on fresh produce that is transported half way across the globe. A few household items, one square foot of counter space and some seeds are all that's needed to affordably produce enough fresh, nourishing food to stretch any food budget.

Harriman, NY (PRWEB) March 29, 2006

Few people know corn, broccoli, quinoa and soy beans can be sprouted as easily as mung beans.

Documented studies have shown that sprouts contain enzymes, vitamins and other nutrients not found in the full grown vegetable that protect cells and are attributed to cancer prevention.

The organic seeds sold in bulk at health food stores are ideal. Seeds for planting are chemically treated. Other than that - one mason jar, a perforated lid for each variety of sprout (or a layered sprout maker) and some water are all it takes for healthy, delicious, and easy food that can be enjoyed in a variety of ways.

Exploding the myths, writer and naturalist JJ Murphy, www. WriterByNature. com offers two methods for sprouting seeds. "You do not need a dark place to sprout seeds," Murphy says, "but drainage is essential. Four tablespoons of seed produces a quart of sprouts, which are easy to stir fry, sauté or bake."

Murphy recommends this as a family or school science activity, having successfully sprouted seeds in a 500-square-foot apartment. This is a great way to bring the great outdoors inside, especially for people who do not have access to a traditional garden.

Hypnotherapist Encourages Employers to Help Employees Make Smooth Transition Into Compliance with New Non-Smoking Law in Arizona

Hypnotherapist Encourages Employers to Help Employees Make Smooth Transition Into Compliance with New Non-Smoking Law in Arizona

Valley hypnotherapist, Valerie Dawson, believes the time is perfect for those who have been considering giving up cigarettes for good to commit to it -- and she has the perfect tool to make it easy and effortless.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) May 2, 2007

Not much legislation has received as much buzz as the new nonsmoking law set to go into effect statewide in Arizona on May 1. Most news reports on the subject, however, have dealt with enforcement issues and potential legalities faced by employers who do not comply. Few have touched on the subject of how the law will affect smokers -- employees and patrons -- in the few remaining establishments that still permit smoking, namely bars and restaurants.

Valley hypnotherapist, Valerie Dawson, believes the time is perfect for those who have been considering giving up cigarettes for good to commit to it -- and she has the perfect tool to make it easy and effortless.

"Most people know that by stopping smoking they will save thousands of dollars a year; they could add years to their life; and they could save their health before it's too late," Dawson says. "They may disguise it a hundred different ways, but when it comes down to it, most people continue to smoke because of they fear that quitting is going to be too painful and difficult, Dawson explains. "Hypnotherapy can make all the difference."

Although the new law may ultimately affect everyone's health for the better, employers in particular, can truly make a difference to their employees and themselves by encouraging their staff to take advantage of this opportunity to give up cigarettes for good. Otherwise, the 20-foot smoke-free buffer zone required by the new legislation could create longer smoking breaks, resulting in greater workflow interruption.
Dena Cameron of Bill Johnson's restaurant saw the advantage of assisting her employee, Sandy Davison to become smoke-free. Generally speaking, the more ownership the smoker takes of the decision to quit, the greater the likelihood of his/her actually becoming a permanent non-smoker. In Sandy's case, it was the very support of her employer that gave her the confidence to finally end a 55-year addiction to cigarettes, using Dawson's hypnosis method. "The fact that Dena paid was just huge. If she hadn't backed me in this, I think it would have been so much easier to go pick up a cigarette again."

Dawson's hypnosis technique makes quitting easy, regardless of how long someone has been smoking. "Lifelong smokers become happy nonsmokers," describes Dawson of her treatment program. "When smokers try to stop through other methods, they suffer misery and depression because they feel they are being deprived of a pleasure or a crutch. The beauty of the way I use hypnosis is that it removes this feeling of deprivation. It removes the need and desire to smoke. People have no need for substitutes like nicotine gum or patches, inhalers or nasal sprays."
One of the huge benefits to quitting smoking, of course, is the money to be saved. Two of Dawson's clients, Scot Cummins, who has been smoke-free for two and a half years, and Cathy Barnes, who quit smoking three years ago, figure they've each saved at least $9,000 since they stopped smoking.

Many of the people for whom hypnosis is working have been life-long smokers. Take Jacqueline Gasson, who had smoked for 30 years before using hypnosis to quit. "I tried the patch, gum, everything that's out there. I didn't want to quit really, I enjoyed smoking too much," Gasston said. "I would try to quit for other people, and you can't really do that. [Valerie] addressed the fact that the problem with smoking was not nicotine addiction - it was enjoying it, and that's what I had to get over."

No fewer than seven medical doctors in the Valley and around the country have endorsed Dawson's hypnosis program to help their patients end their cigarette addictions. Phoenix physician, Constantia Abarikwu, MD, is one doctor who has recommended Valerie: "I believe hypnosis is a viable adjunct therapy to other conventional smoking cessation treatments. I have sent my patients to Valerie's clinic for hypnosis, and they report they've had good success with her hypnosis methods."

Employers wishing to facilitate a nonsmoking program on behalf of their employees are encouraged to contact Dawson for a description of available group discounts.

2011: Health Care Reimbursement Under New Health Reform Laws - With Criminal, Prompt Pay Enforcement, and More PPACA & ERISA Claims Specialists

2011: Health Care Reimbursement Under New Health Reform Laws - With Criminal, Prompt Pay Enforcement, and More PPACA & ERISA Claims Specialists

Beginning on Jan 01, 2011, New Federal Claims Regulations Under Health Reform Laws, PPACA, And New Criminal & Prompt Pay Enforcement On 36 Year Old Federal ERISA Claims Regulations Are Effective For All Health Plans And Individual Policies. PPACA & ERISA Claims Specialists Will Lead Changes In 45 Year Healthcare Reimbursement History.

Hanover Park, IL (Vocus/PRWEB) January 03, 2011

Beginning on Jan. 01, 2011, new federal internal and external claims regulations under health reform laws, PPACA, and new criminal and prompt pay enforcement on 36 year old federal ERISA claims regulations are effective for all health plans and individual policies with prompt pay and criminal enforcement protections. Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, PPACA, is the most significant healthcare law change in 45 years since Medicare was created. On November 16, 2010, Department of Labor's Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) initiated the Contributory Plans Criminal Project (CPCP) to combat criminal abuse of contributory health benefit plans. In 2010, ERISAclaim. com offered more than dozens of PPACA & ERISA Webinars nationwide and entered numerous contracts of PPACA & ERISA Claims Specialists Certification Training Programs. In 2011, ERISAclaim. com will lead U. S. healthcare reimbursement history under PPACA and ERISA, The New Patient’s Bill of Rights through compliance and anti-fraud education, the PPACA & ERISA Claims Specialists Certification Training Programs.

New federal claims and appeals regulation went into effect on September 23, 2010, with an enforcement grace period until July 2, 2011, for all non-grandfathered group health plans and individual policies in claims timely reimbursement and appeals. Most group health plans have plan new calendar year starting on Jan. 01, 2011, thus must comply with new federal internal and external prompt pay laws, the internal and external claims and appeals regulations. PPACA claims and appeals regulations adopts existing federal ERISA claims regulations of 36 years in its entirety as PPACA’s minimum and key requirements, with 6 new patient rights requirements and provides new federal external appeals based on existing NAIC Uniform External Review Model Act. Thus, without education and compliance with ERISA, PPACA will be meaningless for patients’ reimbursement rights.

Since PPACA was signed into law on March 23, 2010, ERISAclaim. com has been the only one in the nation to offer PPACA & ERISA compliance education for claims and appeals by healthcare providers. In 2011, ERISAclaim. com will lead the U. S. healthcare history to meet PPACA’s full enforcement deadline on July 02, 2011 with free PPACA & ERISA Webinars and PPACA & ERISA Claims Specialist Certification Programs.

“Although PPACA’s individual mandate for insurance is under constitutional challenge in the court, PPACA’s claims and appeals provisions are never in controversy and ERISA has been the governing law for 36 years for all employer sponsored health plans. If you want to get paid now, you must comply with the laws on the book today, not in the future,” said Dr. Jin Zhou, President of ERISAclaim. com, a national expert on ERISA and PPACA.
All health plans and individual polices must now substantially comply with existing ERISA regulation of 36 years with respect to timely benefits determination, “immediately paying benefits” upon benefits determinations with approved payments under 29 CFR §2560.503-1(f), explained Dr. Zhou.

Dr. Zhou reiterated the latest federal government criminal enforcement to punish those who defraud health plans and to deter others who might contemplate such crimes:

Men's Life Today Names Winners Of 'Be A Better Man' Competition

Men's Life Today Names Winners Of 'Be A Better Man' Competition

Prizes Awarded for Best Tips for Young Men In Four Key Categories

New York (Vocus) January 19, 2010

The winners of a monthlong online contest offering Men’s Life Today visitors a chance to win a year's supply of razor blades have been announced. The contest, "Be a Better Man," challenged readers to submit tips on how to be a better man in the categories of grooming and style, health and fitness, work and play, and relationships.

The winners of the national competition were judged by the award-winning writers and editors of Studio One Networks, creator and syndicator of Men’s Life Today. The winners and their tips are:

•James P., Kentucky (Grooming and Style)
"If you dry your disposable razor (head or blades), you will get a better shave for a longer period."

•Stella E., Virginia (Health and Fitness)
"Start to see exercise as fun again. You don't have to compare yourself to your ‘old’ self, who could run several miles without stopping. It's not shameful or embarrassing to walk and run in the same mile. Use your time for exercise to think and reflect about your day. Listen to music. Let exercise be fun again! Don't push yourself too hard. Just make sure you're having fun (or you will find it difficult to find the incentive to work out again)!”
Matthew G., Washington, D. C. (Work and Play) "Leave your work at work. This requires keeping two phones and leaving the BlackBerry at home when it's time to play. If you work as hard at having fun in your life as you do at work, you'll be the most satisfied man in all aspects of your life."

Charles W., Illinois (Relationships) "I always put the women first in the relationship. Never forget the little things like buying her roses for no reason, running a bubble bath for her because she had a stressful day at work, or massaging her neck and shoulders to help her relax."

Nuclear Decommissioning: HSE, AMEC, Westinghouse, Environment Agency and National Skills Academy for Nuclear to Continue Debate on Nuclear Decommissioning Best Practice

Nuclear Decommissioning: HSE, AMEC, Westinghouse, Environment Agency and National Skills Academy for Nuclear to Continue Debate on Nuclear Decommissioning Best Practice

The UK’s leading decommissioning experts will come together at Nuclear Energy Insider’s, ‘Nuclear Decommissioning Supply Chain Conference’ to discuss the decommissioning industries biggest challenges

(PRWEB) January 14, 2010

On 12th and 13th April 2010, top tier operators and regulators will meet to discuss the future of nuclear decommissioning in the United Kingdom.

The estimated total cost for cleanup of existing UK nuclear sites is expected to exceed £73bn. All nuclear power stations (except Sizewell B) will have stopped generating electricity by 2023 and UK decommissioning projects will begin to roll out on a major scale.

One key challenge that the nuclear industry currently faces is that skilled personnel are an aging demographic. Jean Llewellyn, Chief Executive for The National Skills Academy for Nuclear told Nuclear Energy Insider, “It is vital that the decommissioning sub sector remains a popular career choice for people working in the nuclear industry”.

Jean will be joining other nuclear experts at the nuclear decommissioning supply chain conference in April and explained that “conferences such as this are crucial to ensure that the decommissioning agenda continues a pace and that the companies involved in decommissioning have a skilled and competent workforce to deliver their important agenda safely and effectively”.

Great benefits from attending the Nuclear Decommissioning Supply Chain Conference include 14+ hours of networking, working group discussions, networking cocktail party at the end of day one and more! For more information on the summit go to http://www. nuclearenergyinsider. com/decom (http://www. nuclearenergyinsider. com/decom)
Conference speakers include: Health and Safety Executive, AMEC, Westinghouse, Environment Agency, CH2M Hill, Serco, Jacobs, The National Skills Academy for Nuclear and more.

Gadsden, AL (PRWEB) January 5, 2010

TaxBreak, the leading expert in state and federal government tax credit processing, announces today that Founder and CEO Frank Brown has retired, passing the CEO position onto TaxBreak President, Shannon Scott.

Brown founded TaxBreak (http://www. taxbreakllc. com) in 1998 while serving as a tax attorney in Alabama. His work in assisting his clients in taking advantage of federal tax incentives inspired him to form a company to help make the incentives more accessible to all business owners. Since founded 11 years ago, the company has grown into a healthy and vibrant business with more than 400 clients who make up about 75,000 business locations throughout the nation. Brown takes great pride in the company's appearance on Inc. 500's list of Fastest Growing Companies for two consecutive years and its ranking on the Inc. 5000 list for 2009. Aggressive plans for repeating Inc. 500 level growth and building stronger industry partnerships are key goals anticipated under Scott's leadership.

"It is very rewarding to see a vision come to life and become a profitable business. I am grateful to the many people who have dedicated themselves and contributed throughout the years and especially for the clients who have trusted TaxBreak to serve them," said Brown.

Since 2007 Brown has trusted Scott to manage day-to-day operations. Together, they have guided the creation and development of a company that is changing the way employment tax credits (http://taxbreakllc. com/tax_credit_services. html) are managed. As President, Scott has streamlined operations, increased processing capacity with the development of a proprietary software, built the company's partner network and opened doors that have allowed the company to double in size every year since he joined the firm three years ago.

"We have experienced tremendous growth in the last three years as the business climate and government legislation have worked together in our favor. I have a very supportive and over-qualified staff of executives who are eager to continue the company's rapid growth," added Scott. "I am grateful for the opportunity to lead TaxBreak and look forward to much continued success."

For now, Brown will remain chairman of TaxBreak and focus on operating The Big Incentives Group (tbigtax. com) and a new non-profit venture to help high-risk individuals find employment. He plans to stay active with the American Bar Association and the Alabama Bar Association.

Denver, CO (PRWEB) February 7, 2008

Swisslog Healthcare Solutions will feature the innovative PillPick® Automated Drug Management System (ADMS) technology at booth #3102 at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Conference & Exhibition, February 24-28, 2008 in Orlando, FL.

A 100% bar-coded solution, the PillPick system enables point-of-care verification and supports centralized, decentralized, and hybrid pharmacy operations. Using the exclusive PillPick Manager application, the system receives electronic patient orders via the HL7 interface, sorts them by priority, and begins to automatically unload the drugs either from the DrugNest, a high-density robotic warehouse or the BoxPicker, a space-saving, modular storage and dispensing solution. A unique tracking number is assigned to every unit-dose bag in the PillPick system - further assisting the pharmacy with billing accuracy and inventory control. Then a patient-specific, 24 hour supply of drugs is grouped together on Swisslog's patented PickRing. Return crediting is automatic requiring no manual scanning.

The versatile PillPick Manager software allows hospitals to run advanced diagnostics, monitor expiration dates, control access security, in addition to operating all PillPick components. As a result, the pharmacy is fully capable of optimizing the work flow. More importantly, the potential for human error is significantly reduced. Ultimately, hospital pharmacies benefit from a faster turnaround time, increased productivity, and greater patient safety at a lower cost of operation with PillPick.

Swisslog Healthcare Solutions also manufactures the technologically advanced TransLogic Pneumatic Tube System (PTS) and the innovative laser-guided TransCar Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV). Swisslog provides a complete hospital supply chain management approach, from total system design and manufacturing, to installation and customer support.

Aura Cacia Teams up with Mo, the Rescue Dog, for Seaside Adventure

Book features unique Press-2-Smell™ technology that allows readers to experience true aromatherapy

Urbana, IA (Vocus) June 4, 2010

The scents of salt air, sandy beaches, the sea and the feeling of freedom they inspire come alive in the newest installment of the Mo’s Nose children’s book series. The unique picture books include natural scents that are released while reading. Aura Cacia (http://www. auracacia. com/), the leading provider of aromatherapy products in the U. S. has teamed up with the creators of Mo’s Nose, on the series’ third installment that follows Mo, the real-life rescue dog, and his puppy pal, Lucky, in Mo Smells Blue.

Exploring the beautiful sights and inviting scents of an island seaside environment, author Margaret Hyde and illustrator Amanda Giacomini have the two dogs exploring and surfing, all the while sniffing out the exhilarating blue scents around them, including the briny blue sea, the clear blue sky and the sweet blue lotion.

The book features a special Press-2-Smell technology that allows readers to smell all the “blue” aromas Mo discovers in his “scentsational” journey. Featuring 100-percent pure essential oils (http://www. auracacia. com/auracacia/aclearn/ar_basics. html) from Aura Cacia, Mo Smells Blue is an aromatic treat, releasing the scents of sandalwood, clary sage, sweet orange and lavender to enhance the imagination and reading experience.

A portion of the proceeds from Mo Smells Blue goes to the Best Friends Animal Society to support its initiatives with humane groups across the country – working towards a time when there are no more homeless pets. The Mo’s Nose series is dedicated to teaching kids about philanthropy, fun and making the planet a better place for all four - and two-legged creatures.

Author Margaret Hyde is an Academy Award-nominated filmmaker, publisher, writer, and photographer living in Southern California. Illustrator Amanda Giacomini is an artist, graphic designer, and yoga teacher living in Northern California. Her dog, Mo, was the inspiration for the book series.

The pure essential oils (http://www. auracacia. com/auracacia/acproducts/acessoils. html) provided by Aura Cacia for the book series represent just a few of the company’s extensive list of pure, organic aromatherapy products. For 28 years, Aura Cacia has been sourcing and producing the purest essential oils for aromatherapy and skin care.

Mo Smells Blue is available now at Barnes & Noble across the U. S. and online at www. BarnesandNoble. com, Amazon. com, MosNose. com, and other select retailers nationwide.

Editors: Copies of the both Mo Smells Blue and Mo Smells Green are available upon request.

Gilbert, AZ (Vocus) May 13, 2010

Good Neighbor Insurance joins hands with International Medical Group® (IMG®) to serve overseas missionaries. Each year Good Neighbor insures thousands of mission trips for teams and single workers. Their focus is caring and honest service. IMG serves the needy in our world by servicing the needs of workers with hundreds of NGOs and mission sending organizations. Good Neighbor Insurance and IMG are particularly proud of their commitment to the special needs of this under-served community.

Missionaries (http://www. gninsurance. com/career_plans. asp) serve the needy in some of the most dangerous and remote regions of the world. They live in constant risk of physical attack and contagious diseases in economically depressed areas. These countries lack basic amenities. Finding competent medical help in the crowded, largely unsanitary and risky conditions of developing countries is much more complicated than locating the closest emergency room.

"The service that IMG’s special missionary division provides is a real asset to us and the organizations we work with," says Jeff Gulleson, Founder of Good Neighbor Insurance (http://www. gninsurance. com). “It’s great to work with an insurance company that considers the challenges that missionaries face while serving others. For a missionary there is no such thing as a routine illness or injury.”

Just ask Michelle who was serving orphans and widows in India when her appendix became critically infected. She was unable to locate a qualified doctor to perform what would seem a routine surgery until she contacted the medical professionals at IMG. The IMG representative worked all day and night to get Michelle into the proper hospital for good medical care. She even went so far as to interview the surgeon to ensure the best quality care for Michelle.

"We take care of our customers," explained Mark Rogers, director of IMG’s missionary division. "It has been a big part of our early success."

Early in their history, IMG saw serving the unique needs of missionaries and NGO workers as a great opportunity. They partnered with mission sending organizations and brokers like Good Neighbor Insurance to design products and services that would meet the needs of this diverse and fast moving population.

A part of that commitment was to create a special division to assist in processing the claims of mission organizations and NGOs. The division provides a 24 hour emergency medical line with dedicated medical professionals to arrange personalized medical care or medical evacuation. The division also offers translation services and can often directly pay medical bills to foreign medical facilities saving the hassle and expense of currency exchange.

Because most missionaries change countries or return to the United States at least once every three or four years, IMG’s plans also offer the flexibility of furlough benefit (http://www. gninsurance. com/furlough. asp). "This is a very useful feature," agreed Gulleson. "Most domestic plans do not cover foreign claims and many international insurance plans do not offer coverage in the US. So to offer a plan that provides worldwide coverage is really ideal for missionaries."

And the specialized services of IMG’s missionary division don’t end there. They offer dedicated claims administrators to help in processing these claims and special web services with doctor, benefit and claim information. Often IMG can pay the foreign medical facility directly, eliminating hassle and currency conversion fees.

‘Most of our Good Neighbor staff lived overseas as mission workers, church leaders and students,’ Gulleson added. "We can give good global trip insurance (http://www. healthinsuranceinternational. biz) advice for groups, families and single workers."

Jeff Gulleson established Good Neighbor Insurance in 1997, to provide global health and life insurance services after living for 30 years in Indonesia.
