Agel MLM Pre-Launch Opens Unprecedented Opportunity

Agel MLM Pre-Launch Opens Unprecedented Opportunity

Growth Strategies Mkt. Inc. announces fantastic opportunities to market AgelÂ’s range of high-tech nutritional products called Gelceuticals.

(PRWEB) March 25, 2005

(PRWEB) March 25, 2005 – www. MatchingBonuses. com offers access to a new delivery mechanism for nutritional products that will set an exciting new paradigm for the health and wellness industry.

Growth Strategies Mkt. Inc., / Gel Miracle Team, headed by experienced marketer Karl Jackson, provides great opportunities in multi-level marketing with AgelÂ’s range of Gelceuticals.

By combining the highest paying compensation plan in history, including 50% Matching bonuses and benefits, Agel in particular is predicted by expert mlm consultants, to be the mlm company for 2005.

According to the Agel mlm opportunity, marketers are rewarded and paid not only commissions on the products that they sell but also for additional network members who are brought into the Agel family. Early movers, therefore, stand to gain tremendously simply by referring customers and marketers to what will result in an extreme boom to the health and wellness industry.

“Agel’s benefits, leadership and stability are almost unprecedented in the network marketing industry,” says Karl Jackson of Growth Strategies Mkt., www. MatchingBonuses. com a leading marketer of the Agel MLM Pre-Launch. “Online Network marketing allowed me to go from living in a cramped townhouse to a custom-built 4,000 sq. ft., half-million-dollar dream home. I walked into a Jaguar dealership, picked out a new XJ8 Jaguar, and drove it off the lot the same day!"

Jackson, who has been involved in network marketing for 20 years now, believes that Agel thrives on the virtues of high-tech proprietary products – Gel Suspension Technology and a transparent sales mechanism. Agel’s Gelceuticals allow for single-serve foil packets of wonderful tasting nutraceuticals, delivering the advanced benefits of exotic fruits and berries like Noni, the Acai Berry, Wolfberry, Pomegranate and more.

With Agel, the opportunities and rewards for early movers are immense, and capitalizing on an early start can reap rich dividends. Jackson himself has eye to spot mlm trends in the early stages, having helped 24 network marketers to Millionaire status in commissions and five marketers to Multi-Millionaire status. He has previously built a network of 60 million dollars in sales and is now announcing the Agel MLM Pre-Launch imminent success to “first movers”.

“Agel is committed to promoting good health in natural ways, and there is always a market for that, especially a market leader with Zero competition” says Jackson. “It’s never too early to get in on a good thing, and because of the new emerging Agel gelceutical paradigm, joining in the Agel MLM Pre-Launch now is not only beneficial, but also wise.”

Karl says, “I just love helping people”, and he has already personally sponsored major marketers including the 5th highest business opportunities earner on the world wide web to the Agel MLM PreLaunch into one single powerline and is presently accepting more pre-launch applications until mid-April’s Official launch.

Voice of the people crucial in fight against climate change, UN Chief of Staff tells world

Voice of the people crucial in fight against climate change, UN Chief of Staff tells world

As the lights were turned back on at the conclusion of the special Earth Hour Hopenhagen, UN Chef de Cabinet, Vijay Nambiar, told the city that Copenhagen could usher in a new era of hope.

Copenhagen, Denmark (PRWEB) December 16, 2009

As the lights were turned back on at the conclusion of the special Earth Hour (http://www. earthhour. org/) Hopenhagen, UN Chef de Cabinet, Vijay Nambiar, told the city that Copenhagen could usher in a new era of hope.

“Climate change may be bigger than each of us but it is not bigger than all of us,” said Vijay Nambiar.

The citizens of the UN climate summit host city turned off their lights for an hour in a special Earth Hour which recalled the global event in March of this year in which hundreds of millions of people from 88 countries and 4000 cities and towns Voted Earth for decisive action on climate change.

WWF Director General James Leape and 10-year-old Anne-Katrine Bisgaard Håkansson from Denmark handed the UN Chief of Staff a shimmering globe, The People’s Orb, which contains a 350-gigabyte mosaic of the hopes, dreams and experiences of people from every continent of the world, from diverse communities in desert, forest and by the sea, to create a global mandate for action on climate change.

The People's Orb is a symbol of the collective effort of all the major climate campaigns, including Seal the Deal, tcktcktck, Raise your Voice, 350.org, Hopenhagen and Vote Earth. Unveiled in Sydney, the Orb travelled to Copenhagen via The Climate Express and was delivered to the host city by honorary custodian, UNEP Executive Director, Achim Steiner. A series of citizen and official custodians have cared for and showcased The Orb in the lead up to its presentation to the UN Chef de Cabinet.
Vijay Nambiar told the international gathering of families, politicians, media and mayors in Copenhagen City Hall Square that the dedication to action on climate change by the people of the world has given him hope.

“The size of the challenge has not daunted your commitment,” he said.

“With this Orb - with the voices you have raised - you are urging your leaders to protect people and the planet. Together, let's make Copenhagen the place where the world came together to usher in a new era of hope."

Mr Leape said the time to act is now.

“Action on climate change has been debated for far too long,” Mr Leape said.

“Time has run out. WWF - and the other climate campaigns - join Vijay Nambiar in his urgency for a solution - our world leaders must deliver an ambitious and binding agreement this week in Copenhagen,” he said.

“It is imperative that on 27 March 2010 – Earth Hour 2010 – the people of the world will feel confident that we are heading in a positive direction to protect our planet and make it a safer, cleaner, healthier future for all.”

Vienna Forum To Launch Movement For Justice In U. S., Other Nations

Vienna Forum To Launch Movement For Justice In U. S., Other Nations

Stronger Rule of Law Is Key to Global Challenges, Leaders of Different Professions Say

Washington, D. C. (Vocus) May 22, 2008

Prominent international leaders in business, government, nonprofit associations and the law have announced a historic gathering in Vienna, Austria, saying they must together build stronger institutions of law and justice, in order to defeat such ills as disease, hunger, environmental damage and human rights violations.

The World Justice Forum, to be held July 2-5, has been endorsed by six present and former heads of nations, including former President of Ireland Mary Robinson; four former U. S. Secretaries of State, including Madeleine Albright and Colin Powell; four present and former justices of the U. S. Supreme Court; and business, labor and religious leaders, including Desmond Tutu, Anglican archbishop emeritus in South Africa.

The Forum will bring together more than 400 leaders of diverse fields from more than 80 countries on five continents. They will identify concrete projects to support greater health, prosperity and safety by strengthening the rule of law. The Forum also will unveil a new Rule of Law Index that will, over time, provide the most comprehensive view ever of law and justice in nations around the world.

“The absence of the rule of law consigns billions of people—well over half the world—to lives characterized by corruption, violence, poverty, sickness and ignorance,” said American Bar Association (http://www. abanet. org) President William H. Neukom. “The World Justice Forum is a historic opportunity to launch a new multi-national, multi-disciplinary movement that can give people and nations new hope.”

The Forum is hosted by the World Justice Project, a new organization whose sponsors include the U. S. and International Chambers of Commerce, the International Trade Union Confederation, the World Federation of Public Health Associations, the International Organization of Employers, the Association of International Educators, the International Bar Association, the American Society of Civil Engineers, People to People International, Human Rights Watch and Karamah: Muslim Women Lawyers for Human Rights. The American Bar Association, the world’s largest volunteer professional association, is a founding member of the project.

Funders of the World Justice Project include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Ford Foundation and Irish Aid, a branch of the Irish Foreign Ministry.

Neukom said non-lawyer groups increasingly agree that justice and the rule of law are essential underpinnings to their respective missions. As an example, he said, eliminating corruption and counterfeit medicines would aid public health efforts in many developing countries.

The agreement that the rule of law benefits other areas of well-being parallels economists’ findings that development is more prevalent in nations with sound legal systems.

“It is extremely important that the rule of law no longer be perceived only as business for lawyers,” said Adama Dieng, a UN assistant secretary-general and registrar of the Internal Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. “It is something for every person—from the rural people in the fields through the fisherman up to the [members of Parliament and] the judges.” Dieng attended a World Justice Project planning meeting in Ghana in January.
Key elements of the Forum include:

The unveiling of a Rule of Law Index that will measure more than 100 factors, such as freedom of expression, respect for property rights and whether government officials are accountable to the law. Preliminary data on at least seven nations—Australia, Chile, Colombia, India, Nigeria, Sweden and the United States—will be discussed in Vienna, to demonstrate the index’s methodology. Pilot tests are being conducted in collaboration with the Vera Institute of Justice.

The index should provide detailed portraits of 100 nations in two years, project leaders said, and will illuminate where justice reforms are most urgently needed.
Incentive grants and other efforts to bring together different groups to advance justice at the ground level. Early grants in Africa have led to meetings in 11 sub-Saharan nations, bringing groups together to plan and implement strategies in support of such areas as religious freedom, labor rights, expanding access to justice systems, and combating genital mutilation.

Scholarship, including papers by two Nobel laureates, further exploring the connection between the rule of law and other forms of social and economic progress.

Honorary chairs of the World Justice Project include: Former U. S. Secretaries of State Colin Powell, Madeleine Albright, James A. Baker III and Warren Christopher; U. S. Supreme Court Justices Anthony M. Kennedy, Stephen G. Breyer and Ruth Bader Ginsburg; former Justice Sandra Day O’Connor; former UN Ambassador Andrew Young; and former members of Congress, Sen. George J. Mitchell and Rep. Lee H. Hamilton.

Other honorary chairs include: Indra Nooyi, chairman and CEO of PepsiCo; John J. Sweeney, president of the AFL-CIO; Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, Pakistani Supreme Court justice; Ashraf Ghani, former finance minister of Afghanistan; Ana Palacio, former Spanish foreign minister; Rt. Hon. Lord Harry Woolf, former Chief Justice of England and Wales; Hernando de Soto, Peruvian economist; Maria L. Cattaui, former secretary general of the International Chamber of Commerce; and Richard J. Goldstone, former South Africa high court justice and war crimes prosecutor. Former heads of state include Emil Constantinescu, former president of Romania; Zhelyu Zhelev, former president of Bulgaria; Ferenc Mádl, former president of Hungary; Giuliano Amato, former Italian prime minister.

Neukom said that welding such diverse groups and perspectives into a global constituency for justice will create a powerful new force to advance just, lawful societies.

“Everyone has a stake in the rule of law. It is the foundation for societies that provide health, prosperity, education and safety,” “Neukom said. “We are agreeing that the most effective way to advance just laws and fair processes, and therefore human development, is for all major professions and disciplines to work together.”

Except for executive sessions, the Forum is open to journalists who register with the American Bar Association. The Project will also provide electronic updates during and after the Forum for journalists who cannot cover it in person.

Details about the World Justice Forum and the World Justice Project can be obtained by visiting www. worldjusticeproject. org. For registration by media and citizen journalists, visit http://www. abanet. org/media/events/wjf_form. shtml (http://www. abanet. org/media/events/wjf_form. shtml).

Cholesterol Lowering Foods: Healthy and Delicious

Cholesterol Lowering Foods: Healthy and Delicious

Numerous studies have shown that including certain items in one’s diet will help lower both cholesterol and blood pressure levels, greatly reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke. Let’s celebrate the large array of foods that not only taste good, but improve health too. The time to beat heart disease - by eating - is now.

Kennewick, WA (PRWEB) February 21, 2006

Heart disease has been the number one cause of death in this country for more than a century. And for many people, all heart related medical advice seems to concentrate on forbidden foods. However, numerous studies show that including certain items in one’s diet will help lower both cholesterol and blood pressure levels, greatly reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke. Let’s celebrate the large array of foods that not only taste good, but improve health too. The time to beat heart disease - by eating - is now.

Happily, cookbook author Renee Pottle has done most everything for us except the cooking and the dishes. In her new booklet; The Contented Heart Cookbook: Lower Your Cholesterol with Heart-Healthy Foods (© 2006, $6.96 trade paperback, www. craftandcook) she offers 24 recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner and reveals how to easily include heart-healthy foods in everyday meal plans.

“Most of the heart-healthy foods are those that we already enjoy,” Pottle points out, “but sometimes we just need a reminder to eat more of them!” For example, with just a few changes Hot Cocoa, Pesto, and even eggs in the form of a Frittata, can lower cholesterol and improve overall health. Inexpensive, unassuming beans find themselves reinvented in New England Baked Beans, sweetly full of molasses, or the equally delicious baked, instead of traditionally deep-fried, Falafel. Buttery avocados and blood oranges are transformed into a colorful Avocado Chicken with a taste so rich it’s hard to believe that it’s healthy. Old-fashioned oatmeal fits modern tastes in Swiss Style Muesli and easy-to-prepare Oat-Molasses Muffins. Versatile soy shows up in a Soy Milk Smoothie and Spicy Tofu and Veggies, or slipped into Taco Salad. Even Potato-Leek Soup and Chicken Curry, usually considered tabu by anyone watching their cholesterol level, is included in this heart-healthy diet.

This is just a sampling of the tasty dishes found in The Contented Heart Cookbook. Pottle also: identifies several cholesterol-lowering foods, including soy, oatmeal, spinach, onions, and poultry and explains HOW they help reduce heart attack and stroke risk, provides tips on how to stay heart-healthy, includes daily nutrition recommendations from the American Heart Association, gives nutritional breakdowns for every recipe, offers cooking tips for quick meal preparation, and provides hints to manage conflicting nutrition information. All recipes were tested and perfected by Pottle, a Family and Consumer Scientist and Health Instructor, as she strives to outwit her family history of heart disease.

Playing Smarter-Sports Education Network Creates Dedicated, Direct-To-School Athletic/Coaching TV Channel

Playing Smarter-Sports Education Network Creates Dedicated, Direct-To-School Athletic/Coaching TV Channel

Pittsburgh, PA-This Fall, the playing field for sports training takes a high-tech hurdle direct to the coach's office and high school training room. The distance learning, satellite delivery of Sports Education Network (SEN) may just be the pre-season favorite for how middle and high school coaches and athletes stay on top of their games.

The company's game plan? Produce and televise an annual programming schedule of coaching and student-athlete clinics showcasing the field bosses and staffs from the most respected athletic programs in the country. Schools get the telecast over the company's proprietary digital satellite network. "Installation involves a small satellite dish and receiver hooked to a TV anywhere at the school. Payment of the annual tuition fee entitles anyone there to tune-in at the scheduled times," says Jeffrey Wateska, chief operating officer. "Staff and athletes can watch in the convenience of a classroom, limited only by the room's size."

Events are live and interactive. Viewers can call-in, toll free, to engage presenters in real-time exchanges. The channel has two programming venues. Clinics in the Classroom caters exclusively to coaches, with a first-year programming roster that features university instructors from heralded sports teams such as Penn State, Stanford, Texas A&M and the University of Arizona. Headliners to appear during the channel's first telecast season include: Joe Paterno, Penn State football head coach; R. C. Slocum, Texas A&M football head coach and Tara VanDerveer, Stanford women's basketball head coach. These and other marquee presenters, such as four-time Olympic wrestling medallist Bruce Baumgartner; Sigi Schmid, head coach, Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer and Morgan Wootten, head basketball coach, DeMatha Catholic High School and winningest coach in basketball history at any level, will provide expert knowledge about techniques, drills, schemes and strategies covering all the bases with hard-hitting facts, fundamentals and forward-thinking advice.

"We're providing schools with an extremely affordable athletic training system covering a wide spectrum of men's and women's sports with 21 live and interactive clinics." says Leo Wisniewski, senior vice president of sales, and a former football captain at Penn State who is a NFL veteran with the Baltimore and Indianapolis Colts.

SEN's other programming venue, The Total Athlete Series, helps student-athletes and their parents ease the hurdles and manage the rigors of the academic-athletic relationship. These 60-90 minute programs cover player issues such as specific sports skills development, training regimens from the pros, NCAA rules and guidelines and recruitment. Appearances from well-known professional athletes: Rick Barry (NBA Hall of Fame), Tunch Ilkin (NFL Pittsburgh Steelers) and Don Beebe (NFL Bills/Packers) offer inspiration, humor and a chance to relate one-to-one in a live, call-in format.

The network enters its first season with plenty of experience and technology support. SEN is part of RTN Inc., a leading distance training company headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA. RTN healthcare Learning Labs currently provide accredited continuing education to over 1,000 downlink sites nationwide.

The Kick-off of SEN's inaugural season was on October 21, 7 p. m., EST. The show featured a preview by Fox Sports' James Brown, an SEN advisory board member, and Richard Quick, head coach women's swimming, Stanford University and coach of the U. S Olympic women's swimming team. Schools with steerable satellite dishes can get the November 11 wrestling clinic to air at 7pm EST featuring four-time Olympic medallist Bruce Baumgartner and PSU Wrestling Coach Troy Sunderland, free through the network's no obligation Try-Out offer. Any school that wants to register, or learn more about subscribing, can call 888-779-3530 or visit the SEN website at www. sportseducation. com. Says JB; "SEN is tailored for the needs of coaches and student-athletes in almost every sport. Our mission is simple, "We believe every coach and student-athlete deserves the best in athletic instruction."

Pedata RV Center Recognizes the RV Industry as Economic Indicator for US

Pedata RV Center Recognizes the RV Industry as Economic Indicator for US

Pedata RV Center recognizes the RV industry as a valid economic indicator for the United States economy.

Phoenix, AZ (Vocus) April 3, 2010

Pedata RV Center (http://www. pedatarvcenter. com/) recognizes the RV industry as a valid economic indicator for the United States economy. Experts theorize that the RV industry is the first to feel the negative effects of any recession or depression. The theory circles around to conclude that the RV industry is also the first to recover.

In the midst of the most recent recession deliveries were down by 40%. Experts in the industry consider the current economic climate as positive in the RV industry. Dealers see consumers spending money again. Production lines are busy at RV manufacturing plants.

Gerard Pedata of Pedata RV Center responded, “The RV industry is an accurate barometer for the economy. People are spending money on RVs again. People are accessing credit to make large RV purchases (http://www. pedatarvcenter. com/rvinventory. html) again. The RV industry is back on track and, historically, that means that the US economy will be back on track again shortly.”

Pedata RV Center offers a wide variety of online inventory at wholesale pricing to the public. Their place in the industry as a distributor offering wholesale pricing has made them one of the first to see renewed interest in RV buying. Americans have always had a love affair with the great outdoors that was exhibited by their immediate adoption of the German motor car into the very first RVs. Americans see the RV as the vehicle of freedom providing access to the open road and adventure. The American love of the RV is shown by the place of the RV industry as a strong indicator of general economic health as well as the more entertaining RV Hall of Fame in Elkhart, Indiana.

Pedata RV Center offers regular updates through their website providing consumers and RV owners with information regarding industry news, inventory specifics, Fifth Wheels (http://www. pedatarvcenter. com/database/fifth_wheels_inventory. asp), RVing tips and guidelines, campsite suggestions, etc.

New product lets Adobe InDesign users move or rename files without causing broken links

New product lets Adobe InDesign users move or rename files without causing broken links.

LinkTek Corporation, a leading provider of data migration software, announced today the release of a new version of their LinkFixerPlus link maintenance and repair program, designed specifically for users of Adobe InDesign.

CLEARWATER, FL (PRWEB) October 3, 2004

LinkTek Corporation, a leading provider of data migration software, announced today the release of a new version of their LinkFixerPlus link maintenance and repair program, designed specifically for users of Adobe InDesign.

LinkFixerPlus for Adobe InDesign ensures that links contained in InDesign files are automatically maintained whenever files are moved or renamed — for example, when files are moved to a new folder, disk drive or server. This newest release adds to LinkFixerPlus' ability to move and rename Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PageMaker, HTML and other popular file types without creating broken links.

Nearly all users of Adobe InDesign have links in their documents that point to external files, such as TIF, JPG or EPS graphic files. Consequently they are often faced with a special problem: what to do when they want to move or rename their linked files. As soon as any of these files (or the folders they reside in) are moved or renamed, broken links are created.

If moving or renaming a file or folder causes only a few broken links, the problem is not severe. The user can manually open each InDesign file and manually fix each broken link. But what if moving or renaming files or folders would cause dozens or hundreds of broken links?

This is the problem that LinkTek Corporation's patent-pending product, LinkFixerPlus for Adobe InDesign, solves. Using LinkFixerPlus for Adobe InDesign an InDesign user can easily move or rename InDesign files along with the files linked to them, in batch, and have all of the links maintained totally automatically!

LinkFixerPlus for Adobe InDesign gives InDesign users the ability to:

Rename or move linked files, in batch, using sophisticated rename rules, without causing broken links in the InDesign files that reference them. Safeguard healthy links in InDesign files, allowing them to be automatically repaired when they become broken. Fix broken links in safeguarded InDesign files totally automatically. Generate a broken link report listing all InDesign files containing broken links, so they can be fixed before causing problems. Generate a regular report listing each InDesign file followed by a list of the files it links to. Generate a cross-reference report listing each linked file followed by a list of all the InDesign files that point to it. Report whether a file is being pointed to by any InDesign file anywhere on a user's system, thereby letting the user know whether the file is safe to delete. Perform sophisticated global search and replace operations on filenames contained in links, in large batches, of InDesign files with a single command.

First introduced at the 2002 Internet World convention in New York City, LinkFixerPlus won the Best of Show award in the design category. Since that time, LinkFixerPlus has been favorably mentioned on: Computer America talk radio, CNET radio, CNNfn, PC Magazine, Entrepreneur Magazine, the Washington Post, the New York Times, Computer World and the Wall Street Journal.

How To Contact LinkTek

For more information about LinkFixerPlus, please visit LinkTek's Web site at http://www. linktek. com (http://www. linktek. com), call +1-727-442-1822 extension 9079 or send an e-mail to 9079@linktek. com.

First Virtual Optical Store Serves Military Personnel

First Virtual Optical Store Serves Military Personnel

ArmedForcesEyewear. com, the military division of FramesDirect. com (the World's Largest Online Optical Store), will unveil the first Virtual Eyewear Store at Goodfellow Air Force Base on March 24, 2010.

San Angelo, TX (PRWEB) March 8, 2010

In 2009 ArmedForcesEyewear. com (http://www. afeyewear. com) was asked to address the long-standing requests for enhancements to the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) eyewear benefit from advocacy groups to a Pentagon-level panel. The main issue on the table was that military individuals around the world did not have easy access to obtain eyewear, especially while serving in theatre arenas.

With the support of AAFES, ArmedForcesEyewear. com (http://www. afeyewear. com) provided electronic access to AAFES beneficiaries through a customized and exclusive optical website, http://www. armedforceseyewear. com (http://www. armedforceseyewear. com)], allowing military personnel easy access worldwide to over 100,000 prescription and sunglass products via the internet. Immediate response was phenomenal, and service members around the world were able to get replacement eyewear and contact lenses shipped directly from the US, despite the fact that no optical facility was nearby.

Next, the game-changing enterprise was asked to convert FramesDirect. com's patented FrameFinder TryOn technology and biometric algorithm into a self-service unit. The result is a patented virtual try-on system that allows patients to take their own picture, try on eyeglasses and sunglasses, and purchase eyewear securely over the internet in one seamless process. The virtual try-on system gives patients the experience of a traditional brick-and-mortar eyewear store, but can be transported to any location in the world. For the rollout and proof-of-concept test in just a few weeks, an eyewear consultant will be available to address individual questions and evaluate this concept for US Military.

"Military members, retirees, and their families in far-flung corners of the globe may soon have access to outstanding vision support thanks to this cutting-edge effort. The Virtual Eyewear Store unveiling at Goodfellow AFB opens a whole new era and beneficiary domain," says Lt Col Ric Peterson, AAFES Healthcare, Professional Services Group, Headquarters AAFES.

The first prototype version will be placed in the AAFES Mall on Goodfellow Air Force Base. Not wasting any time, ArmedForcesEyewear. com is already working on a second prototype version - a completely standalone unit with an all-in-one integrated design. Additionally, it will incorporate two-way video conferencing allowing those in the military community to interact with live customer support, receive optical guidance in frame selection, and get help with prescription lens ordering from customer service personnel in Houston, TX.

Goodfellow AFB serves as the pilot site for this project, and success in this location could lead to the implementation of additional kiosks in military installations worldwide.

About:
ArmedForcesEyewear. com (http://www. afeyewear. com) is an online optical retailer for active duty and retired military personnel, as well as dependents. The site offers thousands of name brand eyeglasses, sunglasses, prescription sunglasses, and contact lenses at special military discount prices. They also offer a streamlined ordering process, a prescription lens guarantee and dependable customer service.

Gold Record producer and Cherokee Studios Owner, Bruce Robb Speaks out Against Global Warming, at the Neighborhood Council Meeting in Hollywood, California

Gold Record producer and Cherokee Studios Owner, Bruce Robb Speaks out Against Global Warming, at the Neighborhood Council Meeting in Hollywood, California

Legendary Cherokee Studios owner Bruce Robb joins the fight against global warming and announces that he is proud to have his historic site that is home to over 300 gold and platinum records go “green”.

Hollywood, Calif. (PRWEB) September 22, 2006

At the Neighborhood Council meeting in Hollywood, held last Tuesday, September 12th, record producer and Cherokee Studios owner Bruce Robb spoke on behalf of the new “Cherokee Studios Loft” project. The proposed Cherokee project will be a green LEED silver certified mix-use development with residential over retail, replacing the existing famous recording studio.

The Cherokee project passed with a unanimous vote by the council - also receiving an overwhelming amount of support from the community. With continued positive approvals, the project is expected to commence around the second quarter of 2007. Until the start date of construction, Cherokee Studios continues to operate business as usual.

With his new indie label Quarter2Three launching, Bruce welcomes the change for the studio, which was ready for a new incarnation. He is extremely positive about the opportunity to work with developers who respect the creative historical significance of the site and who are committed to the environment, a cause Bruce is passionate about. “Global warming is no longer speculative. It is really happening and the environment is our most serious issue today. I hope that this project is a model for future developments,” said Bruce Robb.

First 24 Hours/Day Live WebCam Broadcasted Fasting

First 24 Hours/Day Live WebCam Broadcasted Fasting

More than seven days fasting on camera to rise General Awareness about Fasting. Medically supervised.

Motril, Spain (PRWEB) January 31, 2006

Being a Natural Health and Self Empowering promoter and a Electronic Engineer, it was just a matter of time for him to find how to join both vocations to a synergistic link.

The idea was to increase General Awareness about Fasting. A health promoting tool as ancient as human beings, and favoured and practiced by most Cultures, Religions, and Classic Schools.

This fasting is being medically supervised and transmitted over the web thru the website: http://sapienssapiens. com (http://sapienssapiens. com). In this bilingual (English and Spanish) webpage can be found more information about fasting and natural health as well as a Blog to read how this experience is going and the medical test results with more than ten parameters. And the schedule of events to be seen through the Webcam:

Neti (nose ducts cleansing system) sessions, deep breath exercises, yoga and calisthenics, etc. Registering for free the WebCam images can be accessed and comments and questions can be posted in the Blog.

Books and articles about healthy living can be ordered online and more than 50% of this project's benefits will be donated to a Non for Profit Organization researching on Natural Diet and Health.

This daring individual has been featured several times in TV and radio reports and interviews promoting a healthier lifestyle by a more Natural Diet and Fasting.

When asked about how long the fast will go on, Francisco answers saying that no plans have been set up on this subject as his own feeling and doctor's opinion will be the deciding factors on the event goin on or stopping.

Francisco started the practice of fasting more than 15 years ago following Dr. Buchinger system of 5 fasting days on juices and vegetable broths, with 1 to 4 adaptation days at start and end.

His first water-fasting has been about 5 years ago (4 days) and the last one last summer (6 days), many one day fasts on water and dry have been taken in those years.

Advocate of self knowledge and self reliance the motto of his website is “Take Your Life in Your Hands”, and knowing that every single human being has a different status, no recommendation about fasting or not fasting are given, as this is a powerful tool and have to be mastered to avoid dangerous situation.

The only advice given is that before changing lifestyle (and even more before keeping current lifestyle) a deep self-research has to be done to avoid mistakes, dangers and deceptions:

As Socrates said “Know Yourself”

May is Older Americans Month, a great time to plan for the future

May is Older Americans Month, a great time to plan for the future.

May is a great time for people who are in their pre-retirement years to start planning for retirement issues like long-term care.

(PRWEB) April 22, 2004

The US Administration on Aging has designated May as “Older Americans Month.” It’s a great time for local adults to think about the plans they've made for a secure future.

Healthy pre-retirees look forward to and plan for an active future. But smart planning involves a lot of legwork. And contingency planning – for when something goes wrong – is crucial.

Spring is the time of year when gardeners are picking out seeds and prepping the soil for summer flowers and vegetables. Clearing out the dead plants and leaves from last year, enriching and turning over the soilÂ…it takes a lot of hard work before the flowers and fresh vegetables are enjoyed.

Matt McCann, a nationally known speaker and specialist in long-term care planning says most adults will tell you that, like gardening, the best things in life first demand commitment, discipline, and hard workÂ…before the spectacular results.

"This is true whether we are working towards a degree, saving for retirement, or making plans for when we need long-term care," McCann said.

Planning for when we need long-term care? McCann says that in our culture, planning for old age sounds a little like throwing in the towel. Many of today’s baby boomers do not plan on ever being the kind of old person who needs assistance – and this attitude will not serve them well when reality hits. The federal government says that half of us will need some form of long-term care during our lifetime. McCann says this means we need to be thinking about it before the time comes where we require care.

McCann says reality may not have much to do with the active retirement most people have in mind. Active retirement includes travel, and other pursuits that they didn't have time to pursue before. He says this stage of retirement lasts until one of the following happens:

They run out of money; or

Their health declines and they need long-term care.

"Smart people plan to avoid running out of money, and also plan for the day their health declines. When a senior's health declines, that's when their expenses often escalate dramatically – to pay for long-term care that's not covered by Medicare and traditional health insurance," McCann said.

Since May is “Older Americans Month” it’s a great time, according to McCann, for adults to think about the plans they've made for a secure future. Financially, most American's have paid into social security, and are aware of the importance of saving for retirement. They have IRA's, 401ks and other retirement savings but they may not have considered how they will pay for long-term care. The risk of needing care is the biggest risk to a person's savings when they hit retirement.

"May is a great month to look into long-term care insurance, or, if you have a policy, call your agent to make sure your policy has kept up with the cost of long-term care," McCann said.

"Time is our enemy when planning for our finances. Those of us who are still young and healthy need to plant the seeds nowÂ…for a spectacular retirement," he said.

Let the facts provided by the Administration on Aging provide motivation:

MOST older people have at least one chronic medical condition, and many have multiple conditions. 495 have hypertension, 31% have heart disease; 15% have diabetes. 16.8% of older Americans live in poverty or near-poverty. Half of older women age 75+ live alone (without a caregiver in the house).

By the year 2030, the age 65+ population will have more than doubled.

"Denial is the only reason people don't plan ahead for long-term care. This is why denial is such a danger to our future," McCann said.

McCann, a Darien, Illinois resident, is a specialist on long-term care insurance and speaks to groups and organizations on long-term care issues. His web site offers additional information, www. McCannLTC. com or email him Matt@McCannLTC. com. His office number is 800-959-7055.

New Study Aimed at Understanding the Effects of Bariatric Surgery

New Study Aimed at Understanding the Effects of Bariatric Surgery

Bariatric Surgery study conducted by weight-loss surgeons at Laparoscopic Associates of San Francisco hopes to uncover the factors that lead to post-surgery success for obese patients.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 24, 2005

Weight-loss surgeons at Laparoscopic Associates of San Francisco (http://www. lapsf. com/) have launched a new study, “Bariatric Research and Cohort Evaluation Study”, or BRACES. The study will follow 40 patients after their participation in any of the four major types of weight loss surgery performed at Laparoscopic Associates of San Francisco: Lap Band surgery (http://www. lapsf. com/lapband-weight-loss-surgery. php), Vertical Gastrectomy (http://www. lapsf. com/vertical-gastrectomy-weight-loss-surgery. php), Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (http://www. lapsf. com/roux-en-y-gastric-bypass-weight-loss-surgery. php), and Duodenal Switch (http://www. lapsf. com/duodenal-switch-weight-loss-surgery. php).

The San Francisco weight loss surgeons (http://www. lapsf. com/meet-your-bariatric-surgeons-for-weight-loss-surgery. php), Dr. Gregg Jossart, Dr. Paul Cirangle, and Dr. John Feng, will be conducting the research with the assistance of a research grant from the California Medical Centers for Research in Clinical Excellence. They hope to uncover important information about Bariatric surgery (http://www. lapsf. com/bariatric-surgery-for-weight-loss. php), and how these weight-loss surgery procedures affect sleep quality, diet, exercise, mood, sexual functioning, and the overall health-related quality of life.

Also important in the Bariatric surgery study is whether certain morbid obesity surgeries (http://www. lapsf. com/what-is-morbid-obesity-surgery. php), like the Lap Band surgery, are more effective than others, such as the gastric bypass. The surgeons will be placing special emphasis on the link between certain hormones that are related to obesity and weight-loss success after surgery. Predictors of reduced morbidity and mortality after weight-loss surgery procedures will also be a primary focus.

Patients will be asked to complete questionnaires, provide extra blood and tissue samples during their labs, and wear a wristwatch like device called an actigraph to monitor sleep quality. All patients undergoing one of the four types of weight loss procedures at Laparoscopic Associates of San Francisco are invited to participate in the study.

If you are interested in taking part in this important Bariatric surgery study, please contact the Laparoscopic Associates of San Francisco’s patient coordinator, Michelle Nicholl, at 415-923-6522.

Cookbook Authors Use Knowledge As A Weapon To Fight Obesity

Cookbook Authors Use Knowledge As A Weapon To Fight Obesity

More meals need to be prepared in the home from whole foods and reduced fat/lower cholesterol/lower sodium products. We have really depended on too many outside sources for food.

(PRWEB) June 5, 2003

A decade before "Slender Meals And Morsels" was published, co-author, Linda M. Andersson spent many hours self-educating herself about basic nutrition. "I needed to lose some weight so I took it upon myself to put everything that I ate under a microscope. Once I knew what I was eating, I just made sure that I kept track of everything that I ate. The diet and exercise program that I put myself on worked fabulously. I lost 80 pounds over nine months."

Andersson admits that after awhile the "diet" just didn't work anymore, and going to the gym four times a week got old; and ultimately the pounds started packing back on. Other diets were tried during those subsequent years but only made matters worse.

Finally, after consulting her doctor, Andersson decided to give losing weight another shot, but this time things were going to have to be different, because being on a diet was not going to be the answer. It had to be a lifestyle change.

Also with a few pounds to lose, her longtime friend Theresa A. Maher decided that she was also up for trying this new approach.

Together they used basic nutrition knowledge and their flair for cooking to put together menus that kept their appetites satisfied and at the same time their waistlines shrinking.

This was the birth of their 2003 book, "Slender Meals And Morsels" - Recipes For A Low Fat Lifestyle. The book contains recipes that they created and modified to fit within their new healthy lifestyle.

"If I was going to go along with this, I was not going to go around feeling deprived all the time," says Maher. "That is why diets never worked for me for long periods of time. They are too stressful. With a lifestyle change, there is no deadline. It's a work in progress for life, so if you have a little "hiccup" and splurge one day, there is no guilt. You just go back to your healthy ways the next day."

"We really need to stress several things to people who want to try a healthy lifestyle approach. There are a few catches," both authors agreed:

"*More meals need to be prepared in the home from whole foods and reduced fat/lower cholesterol/lower sodium products. We have really depended on too many outside sources for food. Everyone is in a hurry; so they allow someone else prepare their food and control the portion sizes and ingredients.

*There may be some foods that you will just have to limit or stay away from completely. You will soon discover what those are once you have made your breakthrough.

*Education on basic nutrition. This is information that is readily found on websites such as the American Heart Association's www. americanheart. org. You will need to learn what your limitations are, and if you have any questions, by all means consult your physician.

*Learn about what is in the food you are eating. Read labels. Know how much fat is in a piece of fried chicken; how many calories in a large soda; etc. There are books that breakdown many fast foods as well as whole foods by calories, fats, etc. Many of the well-known restaurant chains offer breakdowns of their menu items on their websites. With this knowledge you will be able to quickly see where your efforts have fallen short in the past; and your new gained knowledge will allow you to correct them.

*Exercise is still necessary, so consult your physician again to get their input. Be sure to ask them how much more (if any) additional calories you should consume for the amount of exercise or sports in which you are participating.

*Visit our website www.2amdesign. com/cookbooks (http://www.2amdesign. com/cookbooks) for a free download of "Fat Facts". It is full of resources and information to help you get started in your new low fat lifestyle. Our cookbook, "Slender Meals And Morsels" is also available for sale online. Knowledge is the first step to winning the fight against obesity."
