Ripple Effects Interactive Wins Five American Graphic Design Awards

Ripple Effects Interactive Wins Five American Graphic Design Awards

Ripple Effects Interactive, one of the nationÂ’s top interactive marketing agencies, was recently recognized by Graphic Design:usa with five American Graphic Design Awards for producing some of the industryÂ’s most distinguished marketing communications designs.

Pittsburge, PA (PRWEB) November 4, 2004

The agencyÂ’s showing at the national awards competition, which attracted entries from thousands of advertising agencies, corporate creative departments and publishers, was even better than last year when it won three awards. This year, awards were granted to the agency for both Web and print design.

Web Design

Visit Pennsylvania Web Site – Pennsylvania Tourism Office

PennsylvaniaÂ’s online portal, which is considered by many in the travel industry to be the best state tourism Web site in the country, was honored for its captivating visual design. The site helps the Commonwealth to make a strong emotional connection with its multiple target audiences, and the overall effectiveness of the site to promote tourism in Pennsylvania contributed to the client retaining Ripple Effects Interactive to continue to develop interactive elements for future marketing initiatives.

Mealtime. org Web Site – Canned Food Alliance

Ripple Effects Interactive created a new look and feel for the Mealtime. org Web site, which was also recognized in last yearÂ’s competition. Enhancements include personalized recipe boxes, a recipe search, health tips and information about the nutritional benefits of canned food. The Web site also offers health, nutrition and culinary professionals a dedicated resource area with information about nutrition studies and research.

American Eagle 20 for 20 Newsletter – American Eagle Outfitters

Developed as a monthly internal communications piece for the leading clothing retailer, the newsletter identified 20 newsworthy items – including trends and industry news – related to the company’s customers and target audiences. The visual theme created by Ripple Effects Interactive involved each issue being tacked onto a corkboard.

Print Design

Alumni Fundraising Brochure – Carnegie Mellon University Tepper School of Business

Ripple Effects Interactive designed this brochure to build off of the momentum generated by a historic $55 million naming gift to the business school. The brochure aimed to reach alumni and convince them that “now is the time” to carry over the momentum from the historic donation to make the school’s future even brighter.

Media Kit – Carnegie Mellon University Tepper School of Business

To support the event that announced alumnus David TepperÂ’s naming gift to the business school, Ripple Effects Interactive created a media kit to house all press materials for attending reporters. Inside the folder was a uniquely shaped CD-ROM, which contained electronic downloads for reporters, including photos of Mr. Tepper, Dean Kenneth Dunn, students and faculty; multiple versions of the schoolÂ’s new logo, optimized for both print and the Web; and a Flash announcement to generate excitement.

“Even though these are design awards, they really recognize every area of expertise within our agency’s team. Our interactive and multimedia designers are able to be as imaginative as they can be, because they have full confidence that our technologists are able to make their creations come to life on the Web,” said Louis Malafarina, chief executive officer at Ripple Effects Interactive. “Our process is a collaborative one, and awards like these are great because they validate our approach.”

The American Graphic Design Awards competition, in its 25th year, is widely considered to be one of the design community's most esteemed. A panel of prominent graphic art and design professionals judged entries and chose winners based on whether they thought the entries qualified as "new, outstanding graphic design, advertising art and marketing communications."
