Wescom Moves into New Headquarters, Anticipates Continued Growth

Healthcare Communications Company Sees Average Annual Growth of 15% for the Past 10 Years.

Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) October 5, 2006

Wescom, the leading provider of integrated communications, data and tracking systems for the health care industry, has moved into new corporate headquarters at 5343 Bowden Road, Jacksonville, Florida. The 35,000-square-foot facility was completely renovated to accommodate the company’s various engineering, service, research and development, sales, manufacturing and administration needs. The building allows for future growth and expansion. Wescom currently employs more than 53 people and expects to add staff over the next six to 12 months.

Wescom’s products provide health care facilities with centralized communication and tracking capabilities that improve patient care and satisfaction while reducing cost and inefficiency for health care providers. The Nurse Call systems that Wescom Products provide include MedLink, ProNet and MedTrac all of which help to solidify stronger nurse to patient relationships. Wescom Founder and President Charles E. Bell explains, “Wescom has been at the forefront of health care communications for more than 20 years, releasing the first network-based Nurse Call system for hospitals in 1985.” He added, “Since then, we have continued to be innovators, launching the first networked system to provide hospitals with centralized communications, introducing sensors and tracking devices and other advancements.” Currently, there are approximately 400 hospitals nationwide utilizing these solutions and there are more than 150 long-term care facilities using Wescom’s ElderLink emergency response system.

Since the mid 90’s, Wescom has averaged an annual growth rate of more than 15% and has steadily increased its market share. The company’s successful track record directly relates to Wescom’s focus on a commitment to innovation. “We invest heavily in research and

Development and it will continue to drive our growth,” says Wescom Vice President and General Manager Clifford G. Lane. “With the beta test of our new software, currently in the final stages at Shands Jacksonville Medical Center - University of Florida, we expect the company’s growth to significantly increase from the current rate to close to 50% over the next 3 to 5 years.”

The majority of Wescom’s growth will continue to be in the hospital segment as the company introduces new state-of-the-art technology later this year. Additionally, demand for Wescom’s ElderLink product is increasing as an aging population is expanding the long-term market. “Long term care facilities are realizing that baby boomers have higher expectations, especially when it comes to communications, service and technology,” explains Charles Bell.
