Rejuvenating Yourself at a Tropical Retreat and Returning with a Spiritual Toolkit, May be Just The Thing to Conquer Stress

Much of stress is caused by balancing work and family demands. As well, health issues like excess body weight, chronic pain and low energy contribute to the vicious cycle of stress. You can break the stress cycle at a spiritual retreat with things like healthy food, sun, and fun at the beach. For lasting changes, learning, tools like meditation while you're on retreat can help you beat stress, and manage it when you're back home.

Much of stress is caused by balancing work and family demands. As well, health issues like excess body weight, chronic pain and low energy contribute to the vicious cycle of stress. The stress cycle can be broken at a spiritual retreat with things like healthy food, sun, and fun at the beach. For lasting changes, learning, tools like meditation while on retreat can help beat stress, and manage it when back at home and work.

Part of the stress of balancing work and family demands can be caused by inability to set effective boundaries. Stress can also be caused by being unable to quiet the mind, for example, when the brain keeps going over and over the same problem. Old 'backed-up' emotions can also cause problems if unexpressed, and these 'backed-up' emotions are the root of much stress and many medical problems.

Praxis Spiritual Centre is offering a one week retreat in Mexico. At this retreat, participants learn a practical, integrated spiritual system that can form the basis of a daily personal meditation practice which can help them manage stress. Skills such as centering, grounding, and how to work with the aura and chakras are taught using a unique experiential method. These tools support students in managing their emotions more effectively, setting personal boundaries, and creating their own reality.

Being low energy, or overweight can also contribute to stress. Through the use of this system, students gain familiarity with their own personal energy and learn to identify foreign energies, which can cause blocks, they also learn to clear these blocks, promoting personal healing, and raising their personal energy levels. According to Darcy Drobena, co-founder of Praxis Spiritual Centre, "when your own energy is flowing, you will heal yourself".

People have overcome debilitating chronic back-pain through practicing the type of meditation taught at the Praxis Retreat in Mexico. Duncan Harte MA, co-founder the centre had a serious childhood injury and suffered with chronic pain. "After using this system, I had the greatest reduction in pain than I had received from any of the other systems I'd tried. I decided right then to study this practice".

Another thing that makes this retreat different is that it includes ‘Exploration Labs’ where participants choose from a list of Expressive Arts (e. g. write a poem about a meaningful experience in Mexico, or sketch something interesting), which integrates what they are learning in class with the experiences they have in their free time, including optional excursions for whale watching and exploring the ancient petroglyphs (rock paintings).

Of course, there is plenty of free time to soak in the sunshine and beauty of coastal Mexico, opportunities to swim, explore the town of Chacala, socialize, or quiet time to simply be.

The retreat takes place at the beach-front Mar De Jade (Sea of Jade) Resort, located 90 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta, between lush sub-tropical jungle and expansive sandy beaches. The beautiful accommodations include 3 delicious meals daily, and use of spa facility. (Spa treatments available at a-la-carte pricing). Funds generated from tourism directly benefit the small fishing village community’s medical clinic, school, and businesses.

Relax, rejuvenate and escape winter for the warmth of Mexico in beautiful beach-front surroundings. Learn a simple, integrated spiritual system that forms the basis of a daily meditation practice. After this holiday, students carry away tools which continue to heal their life at home and work and help effectively conquer stress.
