Under this agreement, Dakota's industry leading automated claim in-take technology is now available to all existing and new PLEXIS customers, in a tightly integrated manner. The flexible availability of this combined comprehensive solution, via ASP and software licensing, allows all managed care organizations to benefit from this solution regardless of their capital position. A payer/claim processor that does not wish to invest any capital can still get all the benefits by accessing the solution on an ASP basis.
The combined solution allows a payer/claim processor to scan their incoming paper documents right in their mailroom using the Dakota provided scanners and scanning software. Documents do not need to be shipped anymore. Dakota's Transform software automatically routes all electronic images securely via the DakotaVPN (Virtual Private Network) to its 24x7 managed data center where all images are processed and converted to usable data. All errors are also identified and corrected automatically by Dakota and the final clean ready-to-process transaction data is then seamlessly processed by PLEXIS's claim adjudication software. Customers that do not wish to scan their documents can re-direct/ship them to a Dakota Service Center where they are processed by Dakota's personnel typically within 24 hours.
In addition, a claim adjudicator or customer/provider service operator can visually see the original image of all the documents pertaining to the transaction right on their PC screen while working within the PLEXIS claim software. Dakota's proven Transform software serves as the secure digital document warehouse for claims and attachments and provide all operators on-line real-time access to all archived transactions securely over the DakotaVPN. Dakota's digital document warehouse uses Dakota's proven Transform OFS technology which is currently powering some of the largest electronic document archives in healthcare; as large as 500 million documents online per archive.
