Adventure Travel Company Launches New Tour - Walking in Yorkshire's James Herriot Country

Fresh Tracks Travel is launching a new walking tour to the James Herriot Way for the summer of 2008. Led by Fresh Tracks' own CEO, John Parker, this tour aims to offer everyday people the chance to have an adventure of their own as they discover the rural landscapes and small English towns made famous by James Herriot in his books All Creatures Great and Small.

Looking for a different kind of vacation this year? Then why not join a unique walking tour to Yorkshire, England, following the James Herriot Way - named after the famous author of All Creatures Great And Small.

The trip is offered by Fresh Tracks, which offers tours 'off the beaten path', and led by the company's CEO, John Parker, himself an expatriate Yorkshireman.

"This is a very special trip for me because I grew up near where James Herriot had his veterinary practice and I walked these Dales as a lad," says John Parker, CEO Fresh Tracks Travel, adding that the trip is suitable to anyone of reasonable health and fitness.

The James Herriot Way is a 55-mile circular route through Yorkshire, taking in tranquil green farmlands, rural farming communities, English towns, and great views. The scenery is unlike anywhere else, though well-familiar to the childhood devotees of the James Herriot stories!

This new James Herriot walking tour runs August 4th to 9th with a maximum of 12 people. It includes 5 nights in traditional B&Bs and inns, some meals, transportation from London, a supporting van, and guidance by John Parker, Yorkshire native and travel expert, for $3995 per person. John spent his youth leading far-flung expeditions to the Himalayas, but, forced to grow up, he soon found himself on the business of travel with Fresh Tracks. There, he has carved out a position selling independent "adventures for the untourist".

"The purpose behind Fresh Tracks has always been to help people of all ages, abilities, and interests to actualize their big dreams… To offer the concept of adventure to people who are far from 'adventurers," says Parker, "With this new Yorkshire trip, I'll be able to share that love for adventure."

Fresh Tracks Travel specializes in helping every-day people travel independently off the beaten path with unique vacation packages to Canada, Alaska, Australia, and New Zealand through http://www. freshtracks. com (http://www. freshtracks. com).
