Demand Technology Releases Scalable, Multi-Platform Performance Reporting Portal

Demand Technology Releases Scalable, Multi-Platform Performance Reporting Portal

Includes MS-SQL based performance database, graphical Web interface for Windows and Linux

Naples, FL (PRWEB) September 24, 2009

Demand Technology Software, Inc., the creator of Performance Sentry® and NTSMF®, has announced the general availability of the Performance Sentry Portal™. The Portal provides an easily deployed, browser-based tool for performance visualization, troubleshooting, and capacity planning in Windows and Linux server environments.

Combined with its Microsoft SQL Server based Performance Database, the Portal's graphical reporting tools allow system administrators to easily track and report on the detailed performance data collected by either Performance Sentry's collection engine on Windows servers or Sysstat on Linux servers.

"We've always had a great solution for the efficient collection of Windows performance data" said Phil Henninge, President of Demand Technology Software. "But many of our customers are now running both Windows and Linux servers and need an analysis tool that combines performance data from both system types. With the release of the Portal we're able to deliver unified, intuitive, graphical reports to make it easier than ever to understand the health and performance of an enterprise's entire server environment."

The Performance Sentry Portal is made up of two distinct components. The Performance Database (PDB) contains the historical performance data generated by enterprise servers, while the browser-based graphical reporting engine provides a variety of intelligently defined, yet customizable, charts and graphs. Delivering server performance data via the browser makes key information easily available to everyone in the enterprise who needs it.

"We run a variety of Windows and Linux servers and had been having a great deal of trouble isolating the cause of some short bandwidth spikes that were generating overage charges for us," said Wayne Sharrett, a Senior Systems Administrator for My Docs Online. "Installing the Performance Sentry Portal allowed us to identify and solve those bandwidth problems over the course of 48 hours. It gives us a great sense of confidence knowing that we have the tools to be able to quickly solve performance problems before they affect either our customers or our bottom line."

Performance Sentry Portal and Performance Sentry 3.1.3, which continues to deliver the industry's most effective Windows performance management tool, are currently available for evaluation at the Demand Technology Software website, www. demandtech. com.
