ASG Launches World's Most Comprehensive Content Management System

ASG Launches World's Most Comprehensive Content Management System

New system incorporates business intelligence (BI) and manages structured data and information from ERP, CRM and other business systems, plus unstructured details including e-mails, letters, invoices, drawings and other graphic images.

London, England (PRWEB) May 18, 2006

Surveys show that up to 35 per cent of a business person’s time may be wasted in searching for the right information. ASG, an enterprise software provider to Global 5000 companies, has launched today in Europe what it claims to be the world’s first system to more effectively deal with this key issue.

The Total Information Ownership system from ASG has brought together in one highly integrated suite all the main software applications required to perform comprehensive content management and related tasks. It is designed to serve not only large organisations, but also the small to medium-size enterprise (SME). The system will work in many areas of industry, commerce and the public sector including finance, manufacturing, healthcare, education and government departments.

Incorporating best of breed business intelligence (BI) and document management functions, ASG’s Total Information Ownership system aims to help organisations become more effective, competitive and profitable by enabling users to store and find data, documents, and other sources of information faster and more precisely. As a result, they will be able to make better informed and more timely decisions, operate more efficiently and productively, and in turn improve the performance of their organisation.

The Total Information Ownership system brings together into one suite five existing and well-proven ASG document and content management, data management and reporting, business intelligence and related software products. It centralises all the functions necessary to improve the management, access and use of a wide variety of data, documents, and information within an organisation and its supply chain. Implementation may be achieved in weeks, leading to rapid return on investment (RoI).

For the user, the benefits of the new system include: a single and familiar Windows-type interface or web portal to provide simplified access to the whole suite, thus making it easy to use for any authorised person in the organisation, from top management down to the latest recruit. Data, documents, and other information may be stored systematically and accessed and shared by many users, reducing errors and duplication of records.

The system may be used to analyse and turn data into information, thus adding value to raw figures and enabling trends to be identified and ‘what-if’ questions to be tested.

In addition, records from disparate systems may be consolidated, reconfigured and presented in standardised reports. Automatic alerts or calls for action may be set up, triggered by reports or events. The system will let users store and access data and information across timezones, countries and continents, thus enhancing communication and both local and global collaboration.

MANAGING STRUCTURED AND UNSTRUCTURED DATA AND INFORMATION

A particular feature of ASG Total Information Ownership is that it will process structured and unstructured data and information from many diverse sources. This includes structured or formal reports from different business systems such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM) and databases such as those from Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.

Unstructured or random formats range from e-mails, letters and invoices, to engineering drawings or medical x-ray images, voice recordings and other sources. ASG’s Total Information Ownership system makes it possible to bring all these assets together and - through one common access point - make use of it throughout the organisation.

The ASG Total Information Ownership system will be relevant to any public or private sector organisation, large or small, suffering from ‘information overload’. Such pressures include the need to meet new compliance issues (such as Basel II or Sarbanes Oxley), increased trade regulations, or traceability issues. It will also process the specialised requirements and contrasting media of particular market sectors such as design, manufacturing, healthcare, education, and financial services.

The system may be purchased as a complete suite of five products, or components may be acquired singly and others added as needs change. This approach has been designed to appeal to smaller organisations that must address crucial issues, but have limited budgets; or the larger organisation that wishes to first implement a departmental pilot system and install an enterprise-wide resource later.

ASG itself uses its Total Information Ownership system to support over 900 employees in more than fifty offices around the world. “We have listened closely to our own staff, customers and business partners around the world and incorporated many improvements to produce this new benchmark in the industry,” said Arthur L. Allen, president and CEO of ASG. “It will enable organisations large and small to save time and money, work better, and be ‘right first time’, even if they buy the whole system or only one module. If they choose the latter they will know that, thanks to the high level of integration, modules will work together seamlessly, so they can build a complete system as needs change.”
