The Award of Excellence Reception will include live entertainment by the amazing acapella vocal group, RENAISSANCE, and jazz legend Dwight Trible, as well as a silent auction, and the unveiling of the 10th annual community visual documentary in the “Cultural Renaissance Classic Photo Series," created Saturday, May 13, 2006, in Liemert Park Village. This years gathering theme was “Mentoring, to Save A Generation.”

This annual event is coordinated by FAMLI, Inc., a nationally recognized, 501 (c)(3) not for profit, public benefit agency whose central purpose is the educational, cultural, and spiritual welfare of at risk youth and young adults. For the past 13 years, FAMLI has produced the popular Malcolm X arts, culture and education Festival, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday, May 20-21, 2006, 12 Noon until 7 PM, each day, on the campus of Audubon Middle School, 4120 11th Avenue, LA, Ca 90008.
