New Website Beckons Global Citizens to Prosperous, Friendly Costa Rica

One-million-plus. com boasts myriad reasons to make the Central Valley of Costa Rica a cost-conscious first or second home for well-heeled investors and retirees

Villa Real, Costa Rica (PRWEB) August 20, 2009

In Costa Rica's Central Valley, brand new million-dollar-plus luxury homes are rising at Villa Real, a community that boasts year-round San Diego-like temperatures and captivating vistas.

And despite current global economic conditions, business is booming at Villa Real, even though at present it has just 185 occupied luxury homes.

Explains George Bradbury, a spokesman for one-million-plus. com (http://www. one-million-plus. com), "The economic diversity of this area is what keeps Villa Real and other Central Valley communities above the economic fray. Only six or seven of the 47 homes currently under construction are 'spec' homes - the rest belong to citizens from around the world who will soon be living here part - or full-time."

A former Pitney-Bowes executive, Bradbury came to Costa Rica 5 years ago to retire, but found the allure of the place and the friendliness of its people too great a secret to keep to himself. Entering into a new career in real estate, he began to extol the many benefits of life in Costa Rica to his network of friends and business associates.

"I'm hearing a lot about the struggle for health care reform in America right now. Health care is not a problem down here; it's right up there with the best in the world. It costs me just $50 a month to have total coverage, and there are no pre-existing conditions clauses."

Located on an isthmus between Panama and Nicaragua, Costa Rica is a veritable magnet for citizens of Venezuela and Nicaragua who seek refuge from their political perfect storms. Spaniards and upwards of 60,000 North Americans find Costa Rica a satisfying sanctuary, too.

Million dollar homes in Costa Rica (http://www. one-million-plus. com/luxury-lots-and-homes) pay about $1000 per year for real estate taxes, and maid service can be hired for just $100 a week. And although the area around Villa Real is known as the Central Valley, the valley floor is 3500 feet above sea level, located between verdant mountains and inactive volcanoes with San Diego type weather. Costa Rican nationals are friendly, well educated and, in well-traveled tourist areas, most speak English, Spanish and other languages.

Apart from the tax advantages of these Costa Rica luxury homes (http://www. one-million-plus. com), Bradbury concludes, "A recent poll shows that Costa Ricans are the happiest people on the face of the earth. And a longevity expert has noted that the Nicoya Peninsula, a short two hours away, boasts some the longest-living, still-active citizens in the world. Costa Rica has a lot going for it. It's a compelling place, not just to visit on vacation, but to relocate to and start a business. I did it, and have never been happier."
