ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND, October 2, 2000 -- DrFirst. com, Inc. announced today that it has formed an Executive Advisory Board consisting of four prominent leaders in the healthcare, technology, security and finance industries. The board members include Dr. Jorge Garcia, General William Odom, John McDaniel, and John Spirtos. The board, along with the Physician Advisory Board and Dental Advisory Board, will guide the management team in formulating the strategic direction of the company and in implementing new products.

Dr. Jorge Garcia, M. D. is a world-renowned heart surgeon and cardiac specialist. Dr. Garcia is the senior cardiovascular surgeon at the Washington Hospital Center and an Associate Clinical Professor at George Washington University Hospital. He is also the President and Founding Chairman of the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in the Philippines. He was the recipient of the Ernest Alva Gould Award for Excellence in Surgery, honored for outstanding contributions by the American Heart Society, and was also voted the “Most Distinguished Alumnus of the Washington Hospital Center” in 1997. Washingtonian Magazine has also voted Dr. Garcia for six consecutive years as the “Doctor Who Received The Most Votes from other area physicians as the doctor they would go to for heart surgery.”

General William E. Odom is Director of National Security Studies at the Hudson Institute and an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at Yale University. He is also chairman of the board of American Science & Engineering in Billerica, Massachusetts. Before he retired from the Army, he was Director of the National Security Agency, and military assistant to Zbigniew Brzezinski in the National Security Council under President Jimmy Carter.

John P. McDaniel is Chief Executive Officer of Medstar Health Inc., the largest not-for-profit health care system in the Mid-Atlantic region with more than 25 health care organizations, including seven hospitals in both Washington, D. C. and Baltimore, Maryland. Mr. McDaniel has held a number of executive positions in various healthcare organizations, including serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Washington Hospital Center Corporation, the President of Maryland Health Care System, Inc., and the President of Lutheran Hospital of Maryland, Inc. He has held various administrative posts at Maryland General Hospital (Baltimore, Maryland), Community Hospital (Springfield, Ohio), and the Wilmington Medical Center (Wilmington, Delaware).

John Spirtos, is Vice Chairman of Optical Capital Group, a venture capital firm that is funded by Corvis, Inc., an optical communications equipment developer. OCG is positioned to become the premier technology accelerator focused on bringing to market the future of optical networking. Mr. Spirtos formerly served as the investment manager at HRLD Ventures and was an attorney in corporate and tax departments at Kirkpatrick & Lockhart, LLP.
